My husband had been here before and had such a wonderful meal he booked lunch so I could experience it. Gracias it was worth it! Beautiful restaurant with a modern Spanish tapas bar interior. Seating is at the bar with the food cooked behind it so you get to see your dish prepared before your eyes. The seafood was so fresh and the flavours were out of this world. We had the following of the specials ( monkfish special and the sole special) these dishes are worth the extra charge! We also tried the patatas bravas, milk fed lambs kidneys, beetroot salad( gorgeous never knew how well blue cheese complimented beetroot) all washed down with a glass of the 2022 Protus rueda. For desert we had the crema Catalana ( Spanish version of crème brûlée). The presentation was superb and very reasonably priced for the quality of food. The manager at lunch is a really friendly guy as were the servers. Thanks for a wonderful meal. We will be back again👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Went there after theater, what a nice experience! You just sit at a long bar which makes it friendly and casual. Tapas style but elaborate cuisine.

I was a tourist in London for some days... The food was really nice delicious and presentable as well as according garnishing. But somewhere felt I was ignored by waitress. Cause she was very busy with gossiping with her colleagues she was tall and with curly hairs.. but your employees wants to gossip they can do but loudly. I was spending quality time with my girlfriend.

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, amazing staff. I sat at the bar and would definitely recommend dining there. You can see the chefs cooking and you can take in the full experience that is Barafina! Will definitely return as it’s up there with the best Tapas I’ve eaten.

I booked this as a surprise meal for my boyfriends 30th. Positives: the lady I dealt with via email was brilliant, she went absolutely above and beyond - even having decorations posted to her and ensuring they were on the table. Another positive, the area we had, although not private was perfect for larger group dining. Sadly, the negatives… I haven’t eaten at Barrafina before and had heard mixed reviews but the set menu looked good and I was confident my partner who doesn’t eat pork would have tasty alternatives. The food I felt really lacked lustre, we ordered outside of the set menu as my boyfriends food was a little tasteless (eg mushrooms with no pork, just came as tasteless mushrooms). I won’t be returning again, I advise order from the normal menu and don’t get the set menu if you have a larger party.

We went for a birthday meal and it was fantastic. A lovely setting with fantastic food and a great choice from a smaller menu which made it easier to select what you wanted. We sat in the middle and so had a great view of the chefs at work, super interesting to see how they create the food. The only thing to note is that you will sit on bar stools, so make sure you are fine with this.

Wow, what a great tapas restaurant. As soon as you open the door, the smell of fresh fish is amazing! We absolutely loved everything about it. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly, accommodating and efficient. Sitting at the counter and seeing the chefs prepare and cook the food was great. We had a couple of starter dishes, followed by the John Dory, 3 different beetroots salad and potatoes. All were delicious and perfectly cooked/prepared. There was so much on the menu we wanted to try, so a return visit is a must! Thank you to you all for a great lunch and experience.

After a delightful afternoon watching "Operation Mincemeat" I was escorted around the corner for my second surprise of the day ..... dinner at Barrafina .... and what a wonderful way to round off a great day it was ! Great service, great choice of tapas. We all indulged, as we should, and from the Gambas, the Skate Wing, the Tortilla and through to the Milhojas every dish presented to us was a taste sensation. The Staff were wonderful, engaging and humerous ....... really didn't want to leave. So, thank you all for a fabulous evening, hope to return soon .

amanzing food! We popped in while walking around London and had no expectations going in. It was super busy on a Sunday afternoon and even without reservations Roberto found us a couple of seats. The overall experience was the best, open kitchen, attentive and personable staff, and the food was out of bounds!!! And the specials menu did not disappoint- so good! Overalls, it was an awesome and I highly recommend for the best tasting tapas/small plates/ and more.

My husband and I hosted a group dinner at Barrafina on an August Thursday evening. The planning process was handled long distance by skype and email....it could not have been any smoother. The event itself for 17 people was a rousing success from the food to the service. Bravo Barrafina for a job well done. Thankyou chef and staff for a lovely welcoming evening.

We had dined at Dean Street years ago but wanted to be able to book for a certain time so opted for Drury Lane. Loved every plate we ordered and also the wine. Really like the counter experience-it is interesting to watch all the dishes being prepared. Wishing I could eat some Padron peppers now! The tarta de Santiago was delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting London.

Para que un plato sea sabroso no tiene que estar rabiosamente salado ni cargado de ajo y perejil. La cerveza fría no saben lo que es. En fin, alguien debería velar porque nuestra gastronomía no esté tan indebidamente representada. Es un restaurante caro y no recomendable.

Fabulous menu and drinks selection. Great atmosphere and fun dining experience. Have prev used the StPancras/KngsX area restaurant and enjoyed that just as much. Entered the WestEnd restaurant and staff seemed rather bored and unwillilng.

Be sure to specify the type of seating you'd prefer at this cozy spot. We were seated at the bar which gave you a closeup view of the food preparation. The heat from the stoves and ovens was pretty intense but watching them make and garnish a tortilla far outweighed any inconvenience. The food was pricy but delicious. We were 3 people and needed to order 8 dishes.

Pleasant welcome from all staff. Lovely layout of restaurant. Very helpful guidance and knowledge from several of the staff re both drinks and food specialities. Very good attention to detail re dietary reqs. Lovely location slightly off the busy roads.

This place honestly just blew our minds! The food, decor, ambiance and the people were just incredible. I’m a sucker for Spanish tapas and no where does it like Spain but once I got here, it felt like I was sat in a restaurant in Spain having the finest tapas available. We ordered the Pimientos de Padrón, Monkfish Croquets (I think it was monkfish), White Chargrilled Asparagus, Gambia’s Rojas and the most incredible paella cooked in a crab bisques (it was truly out of this world), followed by this we had the lemon sole (again wow)!To finish the meal we had a gorgeous Spanish Cheesecake. It was all truly incredible. Both me and my partner love food, we enjoying eating out. We go to many Michelin Star restaurants and we were truly blown away by the standard and tastes of each dish presented, it was on the same level as a Michelin Star restaurant.

Went with my daughter before going to the theatre. The staff were lovely. Very friendly and helpful and the service was good. The atmosphere was buzzy. I can only describe the food as outstanding. Fresh, full of flavour and delicious. The portion sizes were great, much bigger than any other tapas restaurant I have been to. We had a wonderful meal and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

First time to this branch. Spanish tapas served with the typical Barrafina flair and impeccable service. Specials at this branch include the squid ink tortilla which was exquisite. The beef cheek was very good too

Compared to our previous visit before lockdown this visit was very disappointing. We sent back the red prawns as they didn’t taste very fresh and the salt cod fritters tasted off (to their credit the staff took it off the bill) and the patatras bravas...

Barrafina has been around a long time. This branch has counter seating at the ground floor, and tables outside and in the basement. Best place is the counter to see the action. The food was good especially the chicken and rice dish. Service was good...

The food is oversalted and way overpriced for what it is. The servers just can’t be bothered. I would skip this and try one of the other great Spanish restaurants.

Stopped here for lunch ( make sure you book as its small) and as it was a lovely day we ate outside. Really friendly waiter who helped with our choices and how many to have. The patatas Bravas are the best I have ever had...

The seafood version of Barafina have nothing to compare to the normal version, the quality of food is style good don’t get me wrong but you usually go to barrafina for their croquettas, pan con tomato and tortillas. Why changing a concept that people love?

We visited early on a Saturday evening (5pm) for our sons birthday . 4 of us sat at the corner of the serving counter. The restaurant was half full when we arrived and by 6pm all the covers were taken and a queue was forming...

Arrived for a late Sunday lunch at 2:15pm. Partner was arriving 15 min later. Indoors was half empty and only 2 of 8 tables were occupied outside. Waitress would not let me sit at a table outside and start ordering food. Instructed me to stand in the corner and wait in a half empty restaurant! I get this policy makes sense in busy times but it was a late sitting and the place was more than half empty! Some common sense, flexibility and common courtesy needs to be applied! Good luck with that attitude in this economy!

Some of the items were really good, others were just fine. Fairly overpriced for what it is and mostly seafood items, so if you don't like fish, I would not recommend. The empanada was extremely fishy, far too much for my taste, and a slice of bread with bruschetta was 4 pounds. They did serve us very quickly though, so that is a plus at least.

...that’s probably just because there are more of them now. As always, one ends up with an unexpectedly high bill at the end of the meal because of getting carried away with more tapas than expected. But that’s because everything’s so good.

Delicious Spanish tapas and friendly service. Went twice in a month! Tried the lamb chops, grilled octopus, sole fish, crispy baby squid, mussels, chicken liver, baby gem salad, stuffed courgette flower, poached pear, creme catalana. Couldn't fault any of it. Highly recommended. Go early to avoid queues.

I had a great experience at Barrafina. The wait (about 30 minutes) was worth it. The food was out of this world. The staff is very friendly, and the atmosphere is great. I loved the fact that cudtomers eat at the counter. It’s different and super nice.

I went to Barrafina in Covent Garden last month, and i've got to say that their octopus was amazing. Just like the authentic stuff in Spain. Their padron peppers were also a really nice side dish. On the service front, I think the service was really good considering the restaurant was full. However, I did think that the seating was a bit of an issue because the majority of the seating is on bar stools facing the kitchen. Which is fine if you don't have a bag with you, but having a bag made me a bit uncomfortable, as my bag had to be on my lap and got in the way of eating. But other than that, I had a nice lunch, and hope to have more of that octopus this month!

london has couple location for Barrafina, but i went to this one on drury lane as my london friend said this is the best one among all.

Oh man, so let me just say, don't count this place out just because there's several locations. It really is like a bit of Spain in London. The items here are tapas style so think smaller plates but more of them.

I went with a friend and chose a selection of dishes, but left feeling like I'd been robbed.

4 of us, really friendly efficient staff though we were earlier 5.30pm late lunch :-) people queuing behind us. Try the house sherry as an aperitif or better Hart Bros Special - dry but smooth. Food was excellent especially the roast peppers and croqutas to start. Main courses of lamb chop, octopus, monkfish and sweetbreads all excellent. Good wine choice, Hart Albariño and El Mago tints were excellent and if you want to splash out they had Aalto 2015 which is sold out even in Spain.

Barrafina is a bright, open and modern tapas bar which also conveys warmth and sociability. Fish is a must—the daily catch is prominently displayed for inspection. Charcoal grilling with a minimalist touch is superb. There is no bad dish here, and the resto has a broad array of wines on offer (also by the glass; and all well selected). Staff is completely Spanish, lending authenticity, and they’re evidently passionate about the food. The many hours spent here passed quickly. If you’re in Covent Garden you should give it a go!

Went for tapas with family after ballet. Most unhelpful and rude member of staff there. Cannot comment on food as we decided to leave this place and go elsewhere where you are treated as customer.

There is a queue here for a reason and it’s because the food tastes so good. It’s not pretentious, it’s not the same as everywhere else, it’s just really yummy. It is quite expensive but that’s very different from overpriced. I was more than happy to pay the bill because it was completely worth it.

Rude staff. Overpriced food. Very disappointing. Staff not welcoming. rather brusque and unhelpful. Not allowed to sit while waiting for our friend which was annoying. the food was ok but way overpriced. All in all disappointing. .

The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food is delicious and the plating is great on the eyes.. we ordered around 7 different dishes and shared everything, we were satisfied and left on time (food comes fast, we had a 30 minute window between activities and we made it on time!!)

Recommended by friends, we went here before going to the Royal Opera House ( very close). At 4:45 on Saturday, there was a line of about 10-12 people, mostly dressed for the theatre. No reservations taken but we got in on the first seating and boy were we glad! Delicious tapas and the server was great at describing and recommending based on our criteria. We shared 4 things : a lettuce wedge with manchego and pancetta and pine nuts, chipirones ( fried tiny squid), a lemon sole and a stuffed courgette ( squash or zucchini bloss on with goat cheese). All seating is backless bar stools at a 90 degree counter. Staff is calling out orders that are ready and everyone is having a great time. Highly recommend.

Perfect place for a bite to eat after a London show. All seating is at the bar, which felt friendly and cozy. The tapas was better than much of what we’ve had in Spain! They close up at 11:00 sharp, so don’t dawdle! It’s delish. Thanks guys.

Visited Barrafina with friends one lunch and was very impressed with how delicious the food was! Couldn’t fault any of the dishes! We had the octopus, courgette flower, cuttlefish croquetas, oysters, Iberian pork ribs & beetroot salad! I’ll be back upon my return back to London!!

You know when you have something at a restaurant, and thinking about it days later still makes your mouth water? Whelp, that is how I feel about the Pan con Tomate at Barrafina. Something so simple, yet done so deliciously by Barrafina. It was the perfect beginning to a lovely meal. We also tried the Pimientos de Padrón (another simple dish done perfectly), the Chipirones (fried, but still super light and tender), and the Pork Belly, among other things. One of the few misses of the meal for me was the Chick Peas that came with the Pork Belly. The Pork Belly was crispy tender deliciousness, but the chick peas just didn’t seem like the right texture to complement the pork belly. But, all in all, a wonderful meal. This location is small, but it’s well worth getting there early, or waiting to get a seat. I’ll be back, Barrafina!

I liked this Tapas bar, whI have was all stool seating around the counter, where you watched the food being cooked. Food itself was extremely high quality. Olives, Patatas Bravas, Tuna, Anchovy Dish, Croquttas etc all very tasty. Would like to do this again when in the West End.

We came very early (around 1730) and were seated at the bar. Ordered some peppers to start with, then for mains had the octopus, risotto and meat skew. The risotto was fabulous and loved it. Service was super professional and friendly, price a tad on the high side but still recommended.

Visited tonight. Enjoyed great tapas; really authentic. Was offered a choice of specials, of which I chose two, and one dish from the main menu. I had the cheese croquettes and suckling pig from the specials; tuna from the main menu. Some of the best tapas I’ve had in England. I got to practice my Spanish which was a bonus. Service was good and I didn’t feel out of place as a solo diner. Staff were reasonably friendly and the pleasant when spoken to although there wasn’t much in the way of conversation or chat other than when asking for something. Not a major gripe but a bit more of the old Spanish charm wouldn’t go a miss for diners ( in my opinion). 12.5 % service charge added automatically but as I had visited the website before visiting, I was aware of. Wine per glass (pinot noir) was slightly pricey at 9.50 a 125ml glass but was very nice and did suit my food. Can’t fault the food but with a few tweaks this could be 5*.

I took my friend at the Drury lane barrafina for his birthday. They had me wait 10 Mins in an empty restaurant before I was seated. Most of the staff were hospitable however one waitress, who seemed to be in charge of the seating was extremtly rude to us and proceeded to shout at us when we held a seat back for a friend who was 2 mins away. He came and had to stand next to ya for an hour. There are ways of communicating information and barking at customers isn’t one of them. It’s a shame as the food was good and our waitress and the chefs were pleasant. Happily take Dehesa or Iberica over this pretentious joint. I don’t care how nice the restaurant, you treat the customers like crap, they will not come back.

We were a group of 13 and ended up with a bill of 188 pounds per head. Absolutely shocking!

Visited here with a friend for her birthday, and was blown away by the food! The staff were lovely and explained what everything was, and overall we were absolutely blown away at how tasty everything was. We had a range of dishes and I cannot fault any of them. Absolutely coming back!

I have been walking past Barafina almost everyday and finally today we decided to walk in for lunch ! Although a small place and offers only bar seating indoors, I was quote impressed with food and strongly believe I can become a frequenter now. Everything we had was so delicious and full of flavour. Definitely recommend it !

On mange sur des tabourets fixés au sol pour les petites ou fines personnes il faut se plier pour son plat. Les plats proposés ne sont clairement pas faits pour les personnes ayant des allergies la moitié contient des crustaces et l autre des tripes.. Il ne reste que le végétarien. J ai mangé des patates et du pain pour un total de 50£ par personne tellement les prix sont excessivement chers et les assiettes sont minuscules.. De plus noud mangeons autour du bar, n allez pas à plus de 3 sinon vous ne vous entendez pas parler tellement l endroit est bruyant. Il manquait des plats. Les cuisiniers ne portent ni couvre chef ni gant et touche tout avec leurs mains après se gratter les cheveux et la barbe.. J avais toujours faim en sortant. Bref à déconseiller. Ne venez jamais horrible. PS : vous entrez on vous dit d attendre tant que toutes les personnes ne sont pas là malgré les sièges vides d autres personnes passent àvant vous ç est scandaleux

Parece una cena, es ruidoso y vibrante. Me encantó. No es posible reservar una mesa, así que espera en la fila, afortunadamente puedes pedir bebidas y bocadillos mientras esperas. Esperamos 45 minutos, pero definitivamente valió la pena! Los platos son deliciosos y emocionantes. Éramos dos personas y compartíamos 7 platos. ¡Esta no es la última vez que visito un restaurante barrafina!

For et måltid! Nydelig tapas, lekkert servert. Alle sitter på rad og rekke langs bardisken, med full utsikt over kokkene. Ingen bordbestilling og lang kø for å få plass, men absolutt verdt å vente på!

No dought our dinner at Barrafina was the most enjoyable dinner we had during our 7 days stay in London. Creative tapas dishes of all kinds, good wine and graet vibe.

Very tasty food, and of good quality. It marks the difference with other Spanish restaurants in the city.

Food is above delicious, atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The only thing is that because of it being so good you need to wait for a seat...but it definitely deserves the wait!! Highly recommended!
