Bradley's Fish and Chips in Scarborough

Looking at the reviews I think I may have caught this place on an off night. I bought fish and chips at around 8.30 in the evening and found the chips to be warm ups with the fish being really small with too much batter. The actual cod itself was fine but the batter was too thick and crispy. I would not recommend it.

Reasonably priced, and really nice food, will definitely be ordering from here again, and will 100% recommend to others

We looked at reviews before going+ we were not disappointed. We ate in + they charge an extra £1 P/p which we were happy to pay. The fish+ chips were cooked fresh+ were excellent. We have visited other F+C restaurants in Scarborough but non have been as good as Bradley's. The staff are friendly,the place is clean and we would definitely recommend+ revisit. The small portion of chips we had each + there was more than enough for us. I asked for the small haddock to be lightly battered and it was perfect. Well done all at Bradley's.☺️

Fish and batter were delicious. Chips quite good. Friendly staff and clean toilets. Ketchup not included in price, even if you eat in. The tables and couches were clean but didn't feel like eating at a restaurant. It felt more like having a takeaway in the restaurant.

Called in for tea tonight while working away from manchester and got to say the chips peas curry sauce and haddock was up there with 1 of the best ive eaten from working all over the united kingdom in the he past 25 years! The staff were absolutely the friendliest ive ever encountered also!! Amazing!!👏👏👏👏

Lovely fish and chips and even lovelier service. Looking for a fish shop and this was the closest one open luckily, the fish and chips were great I will definitely be back and definitely recommending them. Very friendly service a credit to the business.

Orders food to be delivered for 1830. At 1920 they were calling me saying they had no driver and I should cancel the order I’d already paid for. I explained I was trying to attend to my mum and couldn’t speak to them could they please just deliver the food. I called them back when I’d dealt with my mum to apologise for not being able to speak and the assistant couldn’t have been more obnoxious. Still not sure if the food I ordered and paid for will turn up but it’s certainly the worst experience ever living in Scarborough for a decade. How about you just deliver food paid for by customers in time and not ring them to tell them to cancel and be surprised by the customer’s response. Idiots.

Stopped on our way home chips was nice and the sausge but peas done in microwave taste like water gravy extremely sweet

Third visit today is as many weeks , this place is absolutely amazing, only £1 charge to sit in , the lovely couple who run are brilliant, the fish is gorgeous, the portions are huge , perfect peas , gorgeous gravy 🤩🤩🤩 the spam fritters are lovely too , well worth a visit and so reasonably priced, lovely and clean restaurant 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Amazing the curry sauce is the best in town and the fish white as they come as no gray bits at all. Top quality fish and chips and Amazing for value as a small is like a medium and the large is wow huge 👏. Staff are so lovely and talkative so defo going again but maybe dine in this time. Weldone 🤩

Visited on 15/11/2023 and had beautiful Large Haddock cooked to perfection, chips were lovely along with Peas and Curry sauce!! I have eaten a lot of Haddock in my 64 years but this is definately up there with the best, we will be back. This is “ a must do” if in Scarborough!!

My wife and myself found this place by chance wondering off the main street in Scarborough. Decided to give it a try and very happy. You can eat in or take out. The quality, quantity and price is outstanding and is spotlessly clean throughout. Having visited Scarborough very many times over past years, we doubt if it can be beaten. Went again the following night and just as good. It may not be on the seafront but it's worth the walk up the hill. You won't be disappointed.

was in Scarborough for the week and thought I'd check out this place as had good reviews Fish and chips was good lovely chips had a bit of a wait . But the old woman who cooks has a right attitude with other staff and looks miserable like she don't want to work there ! I'd hate to work with her feel sorry for the staff ifthey have to work with her every day can't be a nice place to work at

Great food, good portions, friendly staff

Me and my partner stopped in for a quick bite. Ended up getting half the menu. Food was easily the best quality fish shop food in Scarborough. Customer service was A+ and the price was amazing. Would recommend this place to ANYONE coming to scarborough or even if you live here like we do. Would 100 per cent return

This place was highly recommended, certainly lived up to its representation. Very clean inside, great bunch of Happy & helpful staff to serve you. Throughly enjoyed my fish & chips eating inside. Brilliant service!!!

Walking past on a Friday teatime it was an impulse purchase, and a very good one. Very tasty fish and batter and well cooked chips. Will certainly have them again soon.

Went for lunch yesterday,4thNov 21.Had small fish,chips peas plus hot drink for two at under£12.Very fresh fish and excellent value &or money.Will go again when next in Scarborough.

Came in here looking for somewhere to eat in. They'd already closed the restaurant area but sensing our disappointment they reopened it specially. We're so glad they did as the fish and chips were excellent. Staff were really friendly and accommodating.

These are some of the nicest chips we have had in a long time. Service is fantastic extremely friendly staff can't do enough for you. Would definitely recommend a trip and we will be back before we go home. Thank you.

The food was excellent and well priced. I saw a review saying that the chips were reheated. Just not true. The staff were extremely friendly and I repeat: the food was excellent. I know it seems over the top to sing the praises of the humble Fish and Chips so loudly, but it was really really good. Yummmm!

I visit every time I'm in Scarborough and have never found anywhere better. Originally (I believe) opened by a Spanish gentleman and his wife. Great to see their standards haven't dropped.

Called in this evening for the first time and we had the best fish and chips we've had for ages. Crispy batter and deliciously cooked fish. Friendly staff.

This is now the fourth or fifth time I have had fish and chips from Bradleys. Every time it has been served to a high standard. Freshly cooked, beautiful fish and huge portions. I love the light, crisp melt in the mouth batter. The staff are happy, helpful and friendly. I definately recommend this spot!

We had a meal at Bradleys last night and they had the best fish I have ever had at a fish and chips place. The bater was excellent too, crispy, airy and just the right amount. The chips were great too. Portions were excellent too. Thanks for a great meal!

Cooked to order so it was hot Chip not the best ,(frozen) how hard is it to peel some spuds

Called today on a recommendation from my brother in law, boy was he right the fish and chips were banging. The fish tasted really nice with crispy batter and lovely chips..the portion size was good and at a reasonable price..staff nice too, will be back..

Went here on Monday.. All I can say is bloody lovely. Nice big portions, especially the fish. Will defo go again if I go to Scarborough again.

Came across Bradleys on an afternoon and gave it a try and it was excellent. Its tucked away on a side street and its a real gem. Will definitely revisit next time we are in Scarborough not on the off chance but because its worth visiting

This place was an absolute hidden gem! After craving fish & chips all day after a long walk along the waterfront and the beach we both stumbled across this place and were truly impressed, the fish was fresh and tasty and the chips were done to perfection. The girl behind the counter was lovely and attentive making this an all round great experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants real fish & chips at a fantastic price. 24/07/2021

Fantastic Great and helpful staff

I only went to Pickerings because Mother Hubbards in the town center had sold out of fish and was closed. I received a warm, friendly welcome and my order was then cooked fresh for me. The food was still hot when I got it home and was not greasy and very good. The portions were very large and we could not finish them. Great service, tasty food and very good value.

Highly recommended if you're looking for a Fish & Chip Shop really close to the heart of Scarborough town centre. Bradley's is located on Aberdeen Walk just off the main pedestrianised street. Both the Fish and the Chips were well cooked. The batter on the fish was especially nice, lovely & crisp! The fish was huge & it came with a very generous portion of chips. Currently open for takeaways.

The fish and chips were were delicious and arrived piping hot. Excellent value too. I love the fact Pickering’s deliver.

My daughter and I visited today, as Mother Hubbards had closed early. From the outside Pickerings looks like a takeaway, there is a lovely dining area to the rear though. We had the afternoon special, Medium Haddock, Chips includes tea, bread and butter with a side dish for £9.95 Absolutely value for money and excellent quality food and service. We shall return soon!

Cannot recommend this place enough. Lovely staff. Lovely modern restaurant. Amazing portion sizes. Plus to top it off the are dog friendly.

Recently refurbished to a very nice standard, fish and chips very tasty fried in the Traditional beef dripping with curry. Very pleasant staff and not to long to wait.
