Catch 79 Seafood Bistro in Moray

An excellent dining experience last evening. Locally sourced seafood that was prepared and presented to the highest level by a chef who obviously has a passion for his work. The staff were all welcoming, friendly and professional with chef coming out at the end of the evening to chat to guests. This meal could not have been bettered at any big city establishment - Lossie is so lucky to have it. Superb value for money, I don’t know how they do it but this is a gem of a restaurant not to be missed.

Ate here yesterday evening with my husband, and we absolutely loved the place. The food was superb, pleasant ambiance and very friendly staff. We shared the seafood platter to start which we'd recommend - the prawns and salmon in particularly were of very high quality. For mains we shared the Monkfish special which was delicious. The cheesecake for dessert was the perfect finish. We will certainly be visiting again when next in Lossie.

2nd visit and certainly not our last - Truely. This was our second visit. We moved up from Torquay in November and on our doorstep is the fishing town of Brixham. We thought the fish served in many of the resturants we visited whilst living in the west country could not be beaten !!! But one word sums up Catch 79 sublime !!! We made a point of letting the owner and his excellent staff that we have eaten in many many fish resturants around Torbay including Brixham and this surpasses everything we have tried ! Thank Q from us both and we look forward to returning soon !

Friends who live in Lossiemouth brought us here for dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. The chef spoke to us at the end of the meal and is clearly passionate about the quality of food he is serving. Would love to return and wish we lived closer.

Great meal, great service and fresh seafood produce tasting the way it should in Lossie! Halibut, Monks and Langoustines cooked to perfection!

Visited here a few years ago and had a pretty average experience. Not this time! New management have turned this place round. Great new interior facelift. Amazing service from really lovely attentive and caring staff - waitresses were a treat and the chef even came and chatted to us (twice!) But the highlight was the food - all of it. Amuse Bouche was absolutely beautiful - I could've gladly just eaten a vat of this! Seafood platter was incredible. Monkfish was amazing. Truffle and parmesan fries were unbelievable Best main was the smoked haddock risotto - best I've ever had!!! Local beer and fantastic wine selection. Fantastic to see someone really raising the bar for Lossie - best in town by a long shot and so great to see a talented chef making the most of the stunning local produce. Top marks for Willie and thanks again for a great evening.

First time visit to this local restaurant. Relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Quality food and lovely presentation. This was a first time visit for us. Somehow feel it won't be the last. Only one tiny 'blip'. When we arrived there were 5 tables for couples dining. No reservation signs. I asked nicely if we could have a much nicer table (we were given a tabe that made me feel as if i was sat in the middle of the restaurant- i feel very anxious and uncomfy when given a table like this). I was told it wasn't possible. No room for negotiation. I could have understood if any of these tables were reserved. Was not the best start to the evening. Luckily the food redeemed itself. Next time I shall ask.

My daughter and I were only in Lossiemouth for one night and were delighted to get a last minute table (due to a cancellation). The food was truly delicious. Mine needed to be dairy free and my daughter is vegetarian but nothing was too much trouble for the friendly, competent staff. We had a lovely evening. Thank you Catch 79.

We have recently moved to Scotland from Devon and were spoilt with fish resturants in Brixham and Torquay. Catch 79 surpasses all of the ones we have visited, from start to finish ! The girls who looked after us were excellent and the food well what nore can l say it excelled !!! We have booked to go again in March when our friend is visiting. My wife and l had the following, One large glass merlot. Starters we had the Curry soup 10/10 l had the single Seafood platter 20/10 ! The mains my wife had the mixed grill again superb ! I had the Catch surf again wow ! All was well presented in a lovely cozy envioromement.

Fabulous food, which was beautifully presented and good value for money. Staff were very friendly and attentive, even on a busy Friday night with a full restaurant.
