Had a lovely family lunch - food was great, staff were excellent and nice views too!

Best airfield I have visited I enjoyed a bite to eat and then went out to have a look around the aircraft that were there (Cessna 15&172) and finished off the trip by watching a c172 doing touch and goes what a wonderful trip!

The view from here is exceptional but unfortunately was let down by the food

Lovely of the of the track place. Well worth a visit. Great location at the back of the flying club.

The food was very good, as was the service. We didn't have to wait long for our food after ordering. The food was warm and well cooked, and the coffee was good. I've been to three flying club restaurants in the UK, and this was by far the best of them.

Went this morning with a friend for a fry and coffee Disappointed in the fry for £9.50 The service was ok but was greeted with have you booked not good morning how can I help I have worked in the retail myself ?? But we got a table the food was not great for the cost of 9.50 each and the filtered coffee was not topped up so am sorry I won’t be back at this cloud 9 It would seem if your a regular your ok as your tables are booked but you just can’t call in Many thanks ☹️☹️

Beautiful meal, great service, but brought the dogs with us and sat in the tent. It was a very cold experience. No complaints, only an observation for better weather.

Great breakfast and service with smiles With so much noise from the general 'hustle and bustle' I don't think the background music is necessary, which makes people talk louder so they can make themselves heard.

We went today to cloud 9 today for breakfast. The food was lovely and staff couldn't have been nicer. We had the most amazing gesture from Mike who seen my 2 year old looking at the model airplanes and took him out to look and sit in the real airplanes. Thank you Mike, was such a kind gesture and one my boy won't forget.

Went for breakfast. Really good food. Had the larger fry. Absolutely hit the spot and was well cooked, not greasy. Would highly recommend. Pretty sure the lunch menu will be just as good.

Was my first time here and I was very happy. It was clean, spacious, staff were friendly and the food was lovely. Will definitely be back and maybe take the furbaby with me as they are dog friendly which I didn't know.

Had a fry in cloud 9 this morning, four of us ate and all food was good, service was excellent and a special mention to the young girl who served us, (Jamie) I think her name was, for the excellent service. We will call again.

Had the lasagna and it was lovely. I am very fussy with my food and I hate grizzly bits, but this was great with plenty of cheese on top. Will definitely be back. An out of the way gem. The menu has plenty to satisfy most people. An added bonus we will use in future is it's dog friendly and has an outside huge tent area to use when having the family pup with us. 5 *****

Went here for breakfast. Had the special which was strips of potato bread topped with chopped bacon, spring onions, cheese and a poached egg on top - delicious 😋!! Really friendly staff. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Called for late lunch. Had the flying pancake stack w bacon sausage egg and syrup. Quickly servedand very tasty. My wife had 2x poached eggs w avocado. Also very tasty. So filled uo that couldnt eat dinner. Roughly £20 including beverages. Will be trying the takeaways next

We have heard from this wee gem 💎 but we just tried breakfast, beautiful dry fry great home made pancakes 🥞😋 and they have a dog friendly large tent 🏕️ we will bring our dogs next time.

Worst ever so far. Waiting 2 long for our food over half a hr. When we got the food it was awful I had lasagne it was so dry and no white cream sauce and the chips were hard and tasteless. The salad, coleslaw and the one bit of garlic bread was nice. Mum had a sandwich her bread was rubbery and her chips weren't nice either no colour on them. We won't be back for a while. It is wheelchair friendly I no that because I was in mine today. There also is plenty of room for parking.

My grandson had his birthday party at cloud 9 on 12/8/2021. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. The party was in a big marquee and there was a fantastic bouncy castle. The children had a great time and the adults all enjoyed it too. Next time we are having a party it will definately be here.

Enjoyable lunch in the sunshine overlooking the small airport in Newtownards. I love a traditional fry and this one was excellent,perfectly cooked,non greasy and tasty sausages supplied by a local butcher.Others in the group opted for the bacon,cranberry and brie panini and the chicken goujons with salad and twice cooked chips,service was friendly,quick and prices reasonable.Was impressed with the menu for "Steak night in the tent" and look forward to giving this a try in the near future.

No staff wearing face masks (or SD) yet this is regulation! And food poor - goujons overcooked & hard, and chips also hard. Very disappointing after being twice previously (over 6 months ago) & was good

Have been going here for 4 years and recommending it to others. In the past year however, the quality of the food has noticeably dropped. It no longer respresents VFM. It is now average at best and somewhat over-priced.

Had a 10.30 breakfast here. We had booked a table outside in the tent. It is a good place for children as there is plenty of space outside and the activity at the airport just over the fence keeps them interested. The service was a bit slow and we didn't get our food until after 11.10 but the staff gave us free tea and coffee which was very nice of them. The breakfasts were great and enjoyed by all. Good place to go with good menu and prices. No childrens' menu unfortunately.

A wee gem hidden in the confines of Ards aerodrome. Out the Portaferry road and into the right. Great coffee and tea . very friendly staff and good service and the food was very tasty.

Firstly I would like to comment that this is not my first visit to Cloud Nine. I have always been a fan of the food here and usually the issue is not being able to get a table as the venue is extremely popular however when I visited on this occasion this was not the case. I visited around 1030am and there were people sat and only 3 other tables. The service was prompt from our waitress and the food was satisfactory. I had the Cloud Nine Fry which was not greasy and appeared to be cooked with good quality ingredients, definitely a tasty choice! My main disappointment today was the cleanliness of the place. We sat at a table for two so to not take up a larger table in case more customers came in. The table we had chosen had not been cleaned from previous customers. I asked the waitress to wipe the table which she did but not well, she failed to move salt and pepper shakers and either moved the dirt around with a wet cloth or moved them onto my lap or the floor. When looking around I could see the tables on either side of us were the same, as was another one in the raised seating section. There was also egg on the floor. I could easily look past this if the restaurant was busy but it clearly was not and there were three staff members spending time enjoying chat behind the counter but didn’t seem to pressed to clean a table properly or sweep up spillages on the floors. Minor training issue I know but it can be off putting when you enter a cafe and see the place dirty. Hopefully they will be able to get staff noticing these things to make the necessary improvements.

Afternoon birthday tea for 38, and all 38 more than happy with food. . When booked had to let staff know of 3 food allergies... And those 3 people got their individual plates.. Staff very friendly and more than helpful. Party continued at my house and I had ordered 'finger food' for evening from Cloud 9. Again not disappointed!!!!! Well done Cloud 9. I have eaten there quite a few times and have never had a bad meal. Wheelchair accessible. Highly recommend for meals or just a get together coffee.

This place really is a hidden gem , the staff are brilliant, they are friendly and professional. I met my mum here for breakfast I was there with my Wife and newborn baby and the staff did everything to make us comfortable. The food is brilliant and cheap !! My wife and mum has a pancake stack with bacon and eggs, I had the breakfast burrito (perfection) all three meals with hot drinks came to just over £20 and I couldn’t praise the food enough, it was brilliant. The view from Cloud 9 is great for any aviation enthusiast, the restaurant over looks the apron and runway of Newtownards Airfield. I love this place it really is my little escape !!

Whilst shopping in our home town called into Cloud Nine for lunch. Plenty of carpark spaces as this doubles up as a flying club as well. When we entered there were no tables vacant and we were escorted in a large waiting lounge area. Some minutes later our waitress came in to inform us that us that our table was ready and gave us our menus. Food and service excellent.

Visited Cloud 9 today for Lunch while Flight training, very friendly staff plus great food and reasonably priced. A hidden gem of the beaten path.

Had a late lunch here today. Friendly efficient service. Menus were quickly brought to our table. Ordered lasagna and fish and chips. The food was good and well presented. Very tasty and not much left on the plates. Reasonably priced with good service. Thank you chef and servers. Jim and lorraine.

What a wonderful place to tuck into a full breakfast. With Scrabo tower in the distance what else can you ask for.

I have called in for breakfast which was enjoyable and more recently with another couple for a coffee and scones. Both times the food was well prepared and very tasty. Staff were professional and friendly. I will frequent this cafe again.

This cafe is attached to the main building at Ards Airport. Look out for the Green sign on the right as you leave the roundabout to join the Portaferry road. It has a good outlook over the airport runways towards Scrabo Tower on the hill but iIt is just a small café so we thought that the coffee and scones were a little expensive at £8.70 for 2 even if the scones did come with cream and jam which we didn't use. Perhaps they should offer the choice of having the scones with only butter and charge less.

Visited with family this week, this was my first time as I didn’t know it existed and I feel it’s a right hidden gem and I’d happily be back! Great quality food at a decent price and excellent views out the window yeahhhh a new place to visit! I’d happily recommend it to friends

It's been over 3 years since my wife and I had lunch here and we called in again just to check it was still open.

Had a lesson with heli power which was great and was topped with a fantastic lunch highly recommend both !!!

We spent a very pleasant hour in this very popular venue. Great coffee and scones and a brilliant outlook. I must say the day was very dull and so we did not get a chance to see the small planes in action.

Went to steak night, ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, two courses for £19.99 excellent value, food was amazing, I’m a steak fan and this certainly didn’t disappoint my steak was cooked perfectly to order with so many extras like tobacco onions, portobello mushrooms, sauce and side, atmosphere was very relaxed, service was very good. Would highly recommend this steak night corkage was complimentary and can’t wait for next one will definitely be bringing friends. This is a hidden treasure.

This is a really pleasant spacious restaurant with some tables offering a view of airport activity while you eat. A very wide and varied menu with good quality food. Prices are perhaps a little higher than average. Staff are very pleasant and helpful.

Called in on spec with a friend for a coffee and a chat. Settled on a "healthy" breakfast and a cup of Americano each. Service was quick and the staff are attentive - checking that everything was to our liking. It was.

Had lunch here today with my wife. Restaurant still busy at 1.30. The server gave us a table and gave us the menu. My wife ordered the fry and I asked if I could have a gammon and brie sandwich instead of a bagel. No problem was the answer. Both meals arrived and were excellent. Thank you very much. cloud nine was very busy as per usual,staff were quicker than normal,food was good,but not very hot had to get it heated up.

Hidden little gem at the airport in Ards. Indication is that you have to book for breakfast which shows how popular it us. I am gluten free and it catered reallyvwell and still provided a super meal. Parking beside restaurant which is a bonus.

Having previously ate here once when I moved to Newtownards (only down the road from this) it was a bonus, a lovely spot. The food is cooked fresh, the staff are brilliant and friendly the portions of the food is perfect. I have been for breakfast and lunch several times in the past few months and took my family last week who all loved it as well.

I often have breakfast in Cloud 9 on a Saturday morning and am never disappointed. The girls are lovely and very attentive, nothing is ever a problem. Had Sunday lunch there last week and it was just what the doctors ordered.

Well it's went down hill now aswell. Used to get lovely big scones in here .....then one day I went in and the scone was half the size but same price ....then again on my next visit same thing....then on a visit afterwards the price went up but portions sizes have decreased as prices increased. The surroundings are lovely and the place is still very clean and tidy it's a shame they have just cheaped out on there customers and making them take up the slack with the rising costs.

Second visit this time with a group of friends. Spoke to Joanne in advance and she was very happy to tailor a brunch menu to suit the group and the timings. Lovely relaxed mid morning break and in lovely peaceful surroundings with the airport and views an added bonus. Despite the crowd coming and going during our visit, we never felt wanting and the staff attentive and yearning to please. Everyone in the group very impressed and yet another lunch spot on the maps and I think all will be back soon. Thank you folks for another successful visit and great food.

My friend and I were there last sunday 16th September around 1.30pm.We ordered the chicken stack which we usually have.My was brought out and my friends we had to ask where hers was,they had to go and make another one.which I think is terrible as I was sitting with my meal and my friend had to weigh about 20 minutes for her.also the French fried onions that were on mine there was no onion in mine it was all batter,(if there was onion in it it was wvery small) and the chicken breast was so tough.it really put us off.and the place wasn't really that busy when we arrived.the chef seems to not be able to cope our he just dosent care what he serves.

Although a resident in Ards I had never frequented Cloud Nine until recently. Over the last couple of months I have been for coffee, breakfast and for lunch. The food is freshly cooked and the staff friendly and efficient. I have now been a few times and would certainly recommend it. Certainly much better than other eateries in the town offering the same type of menu with the bonus of easy free parking. Sitting outside if the weather allows is to be recommended.

Had a cup of tea while waiting for helicopter flight. Good tea made the old way with tea leaves. A bit expensive £4.20 for two cups. Nice views over Newtownards airfield.

The definition of Cloud 9 is apparently a feeling of ‘ perfect happiness ‘ and that’s exactly how we felt after our first visit.

Called in for brunch recently with family from Oz after raving to them about Cloud 9. Clean and stunning setting greeted our visit - so no disappointment there. Family ordered breakfast specialties which in the main impressed with the exception of one or two over cooked poached eggs. Two of our party ordered lasagne, which coupled with the very grease laden chips, we deemed almost unpalatable- v strange taste! Extremely disappointing given the cost for 7 people which on this visit did not match quality of food. Not sure if we would return

I have visited Cloud 9 quite a few times and have always found the coffee excellent. Have also had both breakfast and lunch here. Every time good tasty food. Have ordered food for parties and they have never disappointed. Place always clean and staff very friendly and pleasant. Accessible for all and has a outside area to eat when our Northern Ireland weather permits. If you like small planes you will see them...and helicopters. Well worth a visit!

After discovering this place only a few months ago, I am now officially addicted. The staff are superb & nothing is ever a problem.

Had breakfast for 6 here with close family. On a beautiful morning the scenery was stunning with Scrabo Tower looking down on Newtownards.

I came here a few days ago for the first time with my sister and four kids for breakfast. The food was really nice, freshly cooked from a varied menu, I had a Mediterranean omelette that included prawns and smoked salmon. I am please to say the staff were lovely and friendly. It was a good morning and the kids loved watching the helicopters coming in and out. The outside space was ideal for them. I was very impressed so today I took my husband for a late breakfast and it was just as good. I would highly recommended it.

This is just an amazing café. The food is gorgeous with portions huge. The view from the café is outstanding and I would thoroughly recommend it.
