Ordinary cuisine. But did the trick!

This is my second review of this lovely restaurant that is central to Balloch and Loch Lomond and I have to say it is just as good as it was a few years ago. The food is first class as is the service and very reasonably priced. Authentic Italian dishes, all freshly prepared and cooked. We selected various dishes from the menu - Meat balls, bruschetta with various toppings, fish, pizzas, pasta and meats - all of them were delicious. A special mention to Mandy for squeezing all 9 of us in at really short notice on a Saturday bank holiday weekend and for her attentiveness during our visit. Thanks Mandy!

We only popped into cafe for coffee but staff very pleasant & I'm sure the restaurant adjoining would be the same for our next visit. Good selection of breakfasts & lunches.

Great staff and service, excellent food with a good portion size for a very reasonable price. They also accommodated us on very short notice so were very nice to do so.

Popped in for lunch and we had the £12.50 two course special. Steve was on hand to keep us right and suggested the home made lasagne. The lasagne is lush, with a gorgeous tomato 🍅 flavour. The pizza was excellent and service was quick and easy, it was that good we booked again for this Saturday. Why only a four out of five? No draught Guinness, and we couldn't sit outside on a gorgeous sunny day. That said, it has not put us off, food and service is five star ⭐

The polo alforno is beyond amazing. The texture, taste, portion size and the garlic bread to dip in the sauce is simply incredible. Very very satisfied, 100% recommend. Tables ok,atmosphere ok. But the food is amazing.

Fantastic lasagne,so fresh and tasty, the best I have ever tasted. Young Steve serving us was amazing. Back in on Saturday.

Staying in Motorhome, went for carry out Pasta dish which was excellent. Will definitely return. Service was very good and although restaurant was busy my meal was ready to go in 15 minutes.

The food was tasty and the service quick on a not-too-busy evening. The pizza dough was different to how I'm used to: slightly thicker and doughier than usual.

Lovely wholesome food. Very friendly service. We visited twice during our short stay in Balloch. Parking round the back was a bonus!

Food was delicious and good value, served pretty quickly. Lunch special is even better value but we ordered from the main menu. Also had some cannolis which were great. Service was very friendly.

Really nice restaurant in Loch Lomond. We ordered their vegetarian lasagne and chicken caesar baguette. It was delicious although loaded with cheese (if you like that!). They have set lunch menus, 1 course from 9.5 and 2 course from 12.5. It's a convenient restaurant with tasty food and nice location.

Excellent spot to grab lunch or dinner! Prices are very very reasonable and huge portions. I really loved the lasagna 10/10 recommend!

Dropped in here for dinner - very busy on a Thursday night which we took to be a good sign! Food was great, super generous portions, and amazing value for money. Would very much recommend if you’re in the area

We ordered- Soup of the day Main course pizza with pepperoni and penne pasta Butterscotch waffle Everything was just amazing. Butterscotch waffle is must try.

Conclusion in advance: unreservedly recommended! All the dishes we had tasted really good. The staff was friendly and cheerful. The service was also very quick and you can't complain about the price-performance ratio. Depending on the combination, the 2-course offer may not be worth it.

Our stay in Balloch / Loch Lomond / Alexandria took us to this very popular restaurant for dinner. We were greeted warmly and fortunately were given a table for four people without making a reservation. The entire team was extremely friendly. The overall atmosphere was harmonious and pleasant. The drinks we ordered came quickly and our food requests were also taken straight away. We ordered a starter and main course as part of the early evening menu and later decided to order dessert. The food was very tasty and we can absolutely recommend this restaurant. The butterscotch waffles are to die for. Thank you for your warm hospitality.

We had a tasty meal here when staying in the area. The decor is quite basic but staff very friendly and it is obviously popular locally. The pizzas were both good and very generous portions.

It was no italian food at all, but my Cajun Pasta was really perfect - Pasta Quattro Formaggi was also amazing! Really fast service. Restaurant seems a bit old and little depressing.

Visiting family and went for dinner at an old favourite, didn't disappoint at all. My mum and partner love spicey food so opted for the super spicey pasta and the hot pizza and loved them. My pizza was also great. Going to cucina was the obvious choice because everyone in the family (and that I know) loves it, whenever we're down it's one less thing to worry about agreeing on. Staff are always fantastic, super friendly and well informed. Cant recommend enough!

Staying after hotel next door popped in for the best pizza / flatbread I've ever had .goats cheese red onion garlic and rosemary .brilliant price made fresh and lovely service .I wish I lived near !

I tried to get the service, I raised my hand from 2 minutes many times. No one came. But a white couple did the same thing, they got the service immediately. I’m not sure if they are racism. A terrible experience. The lasagna was overcooked. They even added some water into coke.

Enjoyed a meal with 2 friends. I had penned carbonare and chocolate fudge cake.

Lovely meal, mains were so much better than starters were as they were a bit bland and too much of it to be honest! I had bruscetta and I ran out of bread, hubby had meatballs and they could have had more flavour! The mains were awesome 👌 xx

Absolutely brilliant! We are so glad our first choice restaurant was fully booked so we thought we'd try Cucina and what a great choice indeed! Food was excellent - tasty, hot and came out in great timing considering there was a party booked on the same night. Great atmosphere - nice and busy but they were still able to accommodate us! Friendly staff with smiles on their faces and a great service! We will return!

Tried to order pick up service tonight ( Sunday ) asked if we can order for pick up to be told aye I suppose so, you’ll be waiting ages thou, my reply stick your order that’s how your reply to food requests to customers who help may your wages .

Disappointing experience at Cucina, food and service a big let down. Customers don’t seem to be a priority or serving high quality cuisine. Pasta was stodgy and underwhelming, Wouldn’t recommend.

Cucina used to be fabulous but has gone downhill in recent years. I ordered the macaroni and cheese which used to be lovely, but sadly this time the pasta came out stodgy and half-cooked with a runny cheese sauce. The cheese sauce had such a weird aftertaste, like a citric acid taste which was unpleasant. staff were nice enough but standards have definitely gone down. Unfortunate.

Me and my friend had brunch with coffee today at cucina cafe, next to the restaurant. Food was tasty, good portion size and staff member was friendly. I have been a few times and will return soon. 10 out of 10. 😃

We were staying locally and found a takeaway menu for this place. omg the pizza was amazing. I could manage to eat it all. And they accommodated my allergies.

We came on a Wednesday lunch. Happy with the food it was great value for money. Good portion size and plenty of cheese.

We were in the coffee shop which was lovely and warm and decorated with Christmas cheer. The service was excellent, prompt and helpful and food was delicious. I would highly recommend.

I went along with my friends. Food was really good. The quality of ingredients and portion size, flavours and presentation everything was on spot. I loved my time there and would definitely go again when I'm in Balloch.

Maybe winter time is not the best time to visit. Definitely an air of "out of season". Obviously summer time is their prime time with tourists visiting the Loch Lomond area. Disappointed with the overall experience.

Very poor, non friendly , slow to attend , did not make any attempt to engage the customer , very slow service. I could go on. Mussels started game with roughly six broken mussel shells, floating in a bath of tomato & chopped onion with a few pieces of chilli, no accompanying bread, unceremoniously dumped on the table to start, was not asked if I enjoyed it just lifted when the waiting staff thought I had finished. Our first round of drinks (two cokes and bottle of sparkling water took that long to come we didn't get asked if we wanted another. Main courses tasted nice and was generous in size. First time I have went to an Italian based restaurant and there has not been a tirimisu on the menu.. £60 total and £5 tip which if I was on my own would not have left, I hope it goes to the chef for their efforts because it was much better than the waiting staff. Glad I am not a tourist

Dreadful service last night. Was out with a group of friends for dinner and when mains arrived my meal didn’t. Manageress aggressively accused me of ordering a different meal which I hadn’t. She then made a big deal of going to the bar and checking the slip the waitress took and proceeded to bring it to our table to show us the slip! I stuck to my guns when she tried to push the wrong dish in front of me and said no I would like what I ordered to be told it would take 20 minutes to prepare. She made no apology for my inconvenience or the lengthy wait for my food. Her attitude is appalling and she needs to undergo training on customer service. I certainly won’t be back.

In with Family for breakfast and it was very nice. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

We will be back for more after our experience here with friends. Four people and of the four, one was too spicy and three were gold star meals. We had the Arrabiatta with chicken which was probably the best I have ever had. Service was good, price was reasonable. Put it on your list ( it was so good that I ate before photographing. Oops)

Been here a few times now. The food is always delicious. Had the mozzarella sticks starter with chili sauce. The sauce was lovely with a good kick to it. For the main course I had the meat feast calzone. The portion was huge. Crust was nice and soft. (Saved some chilli sauce to dip it into which worked nicely). It was filled with a generous portion of different meats. Highly recommended Italian in the area

Perfect little lunch spot on the way to Loch Lomond. The kids were happy with their extra cheesy macaroni and my baked bolognese was excellent. Service was friendly.

The food was fantastic and the service was very friendly. There is a set menu available at lunch time and early evening until 7pm. We ordered two courses for £16.50 which was good value. I would recommend the garlic and pesto chicken.

Food portions are good, tables are bland and basic. Very basic, pasta was ish... ie not great. Think hearty food not refined here that's good value but will not set your taste buds racing

Wonderful food. Plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options. Clean with very friendly staff. Arrabbiata spiciness made to order.

We went in the left of the building from the front. The service was good as was the food. The only problem we had was the table was a bit small for all the food and drinks. There is parking on the front and extra at the rear of the building. There is decking on the front with outdoor seating and tables. This is a value for money establishment and we would definitely call again.

La pasta estaba buena, pero comparando mi plato con el de otras mesas me pareció que tenía menos cantidad. La pizza parece que tienen preparada la margarita y añaden luego los ingredientes para pegarle un calentón y tardar poco, lo que hace que no esté todo lo buena que debería. Eso sí, es un sitio bastante recomendable si te gusta la cocina italiana y andas por Balloch.
