I meet here with a group of ladies every month and we always experience excellent service. Yesterday we were served by a lovely young lady called Lucy. Although she was not feeling very well she served the many customers with a smile on her face. Well done Lucy!

Great place. Always get service with a smile and a wee chat! Bacon roll and coffee are great also, highly recommend!

Very nice place. Pub divided into 2. One part is the historic pub with a very UK atmosphere. The second part, in the corner of the building, is a brighter and more modern environment. Good beer. Very friendly and helpful staff! Absolutely recommended

a new coffee shop/bar not big but a great place to go for coffee and a roll you will not find better. try it for yourself I do not think you will regret it.

I used to enjoy going now and again for coffee, not too busy and used to be very quick service. Now a new member of staff is very slow not even a welcome when you walk in. seems fed up looking and is very slow, ordered a coffee and waited around 10/15 mins for it we ended up walking out. Making one hot drink at a time. Surely if you have a few orders of coffee, lattes, cappuccino, etc you can make enough steamed milk to do them all at once. instead, he makes one drink takes it to the customer then makes the next also asked for a hot roll and he didn't tell the chef there was an order so waited around 20/25 mins just for the roll. This has put me off returning.

Lovely cosy place for quiet drink and snacks

My friend and I were treated so badly by the bar attendant who boasted to us that she is the "f......g Manager if we wanted to make a complaint . She could not handle the pace of normal half working day , she yelled at us when we reminded her that she forgot our coffee. I have never encountered a nasty bar worker in my adult life like her , she swore at us and invited us to leave the place despite the fact we politely told her that she forgot to make a coffee that we paid for. I would be surprised if she keeps her job , her attitude will make customers flee the place , unless she own the place .

REALLY friendly member of staff who served a nice pint in a pleasant environment. Can't fault and will definitely return!!!

Recently moved to the area, we popped in for a late lunch and enjoyed a panini and chips, delicious. Friendly service although we were slightly baffled when we were asked to order quickly (2pm-ish) when the place was almost empty and the signs outside say open all day. A few days later we went in for breakfast at 10- ish and the place was packed but we found a table and enjoyed fab breakfast rolls and friendly service. Would visit again and would recommend.

I really like this cafe . The decor is stylish and quite artistic . The service is always friendly and fast .From the outside it looks small but there is a whole other section at the back of the building . I haven't ordered food before but the menu looks varied and tasty .

This is a little gem of a place .Beautiful decor maintained well.Wine ,bubbles very reasonably priced.They also do charcuterie boards cheese etc for small gatherings ,only had vino and coffee so far but planning to visit again with friends watch this space for update

Brilliant place. Staff amazing.

This is a nice little place along Slateford Road and it's great for a quick snack or pint or two. You can even sit outside at the tables with kids on a sunny day if they want a quick glass of pop. It gets 4 stars as opposed to 5 due to it being on Slateford Road. It's a little oasis.

Cosy atmosphere,great menu for breakfast,and lunch..

Good place and friendly staff. It seem to be a familiar atmosphere. The coffee was tasty and the staff tried to help where they can. The prices are also a bit cheaper then in the city centre. I live near the place but just visited for the first time. There is enough seats for everyone here. I will definitely come again and may be next time I can try some food too. Also the whole customers seemed to be friendly and felt well. I can recommend the place and the coffee too. Also very interesting is that I love coffee and mostly you dont get any biscuit this was the only place and yes its like a small cake but many other coffee houses don't add it to your cup. Can not fault a thing. Communication before visiting was excellent. Waitress was so friendly and helpful. Afternoon tea was so tasty and plentiful.

I'm surprised this place has many Good reviews complimenting its friendly service . I've been in on three occasions as a customer , and it appears to be the same miserable unfriendly and ineffective woman on duty . The third time will be the last time because the couple in front of me were treated better in a unfair and biased way . Maybe its because I'm not a White person I strongly suspect it is . I've been in pubs for years and this is the First time I felt it . She kept her face mask on for the couple in front very courteous . and allowed them time to pay. She then ripped of her face covering and eventually spittle flying out rudely ordered me to sit down I had not even finished my order and just wanted to pay up I was mot lingering and unlike this nasty person had my covering on , however as she was making the drink she was still unmasked and after getting over my shock I left immediately because it clearly was not safe . Ill never go back and would not recommend this place to other people of colour far more friendly pubs in the area . Based in three consistently biased experiences of contrast . I believe most People of colour don't like to be spoken to like a child anymore then other adults and certainly would not take to double standards that are unlawful during these troubled times .

Unwelcoming, racially biased and for a night cap ; COVID unfriendly. The Eastern European bar tender (?) Must have thought I were Indian . As her inexplicable racial bias could not bare any other rational explanation. Went in and there was a white couple in front of me who were treated like royalty . Allowed to stand at the bar for minutes and only spoken to in hushed reverend tonnes , until they made payment . When she turned her nasty intentions to me she ripped off her face mask in an enclosed environment and Spoke to me in Stalin esque tones . Barked at me sit down !!! a mannerless bint if ever there was one . Yes the price was cheap but so was the etiquette as an unvaccinated young one I got up and left as she made my drink unmasked and breathing into it . Obviously racial bias spills into the drinks as Well as the service it’s ok I preferred to stay COVID safe . Plenty of far more nicer and proper Scottish pubs in the area .

Nice place to having coffee or beer, car can park

Popped in here for a coffee as I stay in the local area. Friendly service, nice atmosphere and good prices. Very good location, as there isn't a cafe along Slateford Road. Don't bother with a car - lots of buses stop virtually outside.

First time in here and what a treat. Had an all day breakfast. Great value for money and I left feeling very full. Breakfast available till 1pm. Copy of breakfast & menu in photos. Already booked my next two visits. There are not many places to eat in the area so this was badly needed.

Great coffee. Great Service with now the addition of great food. Fully recommend for just for coffee or even a bacon roll

Delicious breakfast! Wonderful staff!

Went in with a couple friends,we had to wait a bit outside cos the tables were all busy and we thought " this must be a good sign!" We were not disappointed, from presentation to taste, the meal was absolutely perfect. Great atmosphere, kind staff, but on top of the list there must be the chef! Don't let himself go, the food is what we enjoyed the most. We will definitely back soon.

Lovely little bar they do very good afternoon teas at very reasonable prices with a healthy option of fruit kebabs instead of cakes as well as a wide range of alcoholic drinks and some very nice cocktails would recommend anyone to visit this friendly bar. ( covid measures covered without being off putting)

Just found this delightful little cafe in Slateford and it’s dog friendly!! Met my friend here and we had tea and cake. We stayed chatting for a while as it was such a lovely place. The girl serving was great and she brought water and treats for the dog. Will definitely be back and may get afternoon tea next time.

Brilliant place for coffee, drinks or food. It's a place which exudes class from every corner. Their beer and wine menus are quite good for they have, but their cocktails come out a real winner. And to top if all off, the staff are very friendly and cater to your every need.

Surprisingly large Cafe/ Bar which is seldom busy and therefore has difficulty creating an atmosphere. Restricted range of wines on offer and little help available to discuss/explain said wines. Shame, because it's in a good position in Shandon and would be good if the locals supported it more.

Came in here exhausted after a very early flight in. Sean, the barista, was amazing! So charming and welcoming! He made us feel right at home. Etore’s became our regular breakfast spot for the rest of our stay.

Me and my friends come to the regular pub quiz and highly recommend this place. Staff really friendly, some amazing drinks, herbal tea and coffee as well as being able to pour a good pint, cheap too. Very popular so if you want to go on a Thursday night make sure you book in advance.

A new "local" going forward. Nice inside, definately has space for a more privy conversation with a friend as well as a bigger gathering of people. Really nice bar, if you live in the gorgie/slateford/fountainbridge area and you want a nice place to just have enjoy some good drinks (excellent selection all round, good spirits, beers, wines,and most importantly, they have Fever Tree tonic ) with your mates without having your night disrupted by overly loud music or daft jakies then give it a go. (We enjoyed the 80's soundtrack)..Service was great, the girls serving were friendly and approachable . They also do really good & affordable cocktails. Their Old Fashioned is pretty decent. You can tell they are really committed to doing things right. One (minor) criticism: which didn't ruin my night but I would love to see for future; more bourbons. (Bulliet, Woodford, Buffalo Trace, any of these would be great).

Been in a couple of times for a coffee and like the feel of the place. Apparently the pastries are nice and you can get a coffee and a pastry for 3 quid. Staff are friendly. So far so good.

The decoration and atmosphere in here is lovely. They've really done it nicely. The staff were very nice and did their best to make us some good cocktails even though they weren't programmed into the till yet. I understand they have coffee and pastries too...
