Great find, lovely venue and atmosphere, the staff were awesome and the food was amazing. Haggis bon bons to start and isle of Lewis salmon fillet with fragrant Malaysian coconut curry to follow. Definitely recommend this place 👌

Absolutely superb little restaurant. Really nice food and extremely accommodating staff managed to squeeze us in which was purely necessary due to our poor planning!

Went during lunch today between our bus from Skye and train to Edinburgh. The food was good, but one of the hosts (the younger, louder one) had a condescending tone the moment we walked in. The service provided was very obviously lacking compared to other patrons that were French and a Malaysian family, or when provided, quite rudely with a snarky tone. We are a young couple in our late 20s, and we might have been "profiled" based on that. It is a shame that the good food had to be tainted by a rude host like that.

Diverse menu from burgers to Tagine. Seemed to be run by one really energetic guy and the bartender. My ribeye steak was tender and juicy with a zingy sauce, beautiful. Soggy, over fried, chips let it down a bit. My wife's lamb Tagine was superb, just the lamb chunks a tad dry. You need to book to guarantee a table. But he was doing his best to accommodate walk ins if they agreed to as little as a 45 minute turn around. Prices very reasonable for good food and drink.

We had dinner and throughly enjoyed the meal. The starter was outstanding. We had seen reviews about the goat cheese salad and it was truly amazing. For mains the venison haggis burger was a unique offering and very tasty if you like both. The cheesecake was of the right texture and flavour and I must say the food stood out for me in terms of taste. The service was very warm and the place has a quiet and welcoming feel. Strongly recommended if you want to try something out of the ordinary.

Friendly staff and fairly priced. Not impressed with the food, though. Lacks of flavour. Not sure if I would go back.

Food and service are always first class

Was so looking forward to having lunch here but disappointed in the food. We came for lunch and ordered the marinated salmon which were really small pieces, cold and hard. Our main course wasn’t too great either. It lacked in flavour. I ordered the linguine and it has little to no parmesan and the salmon tasted stale. The chicken quesadilla had barely any chicken. The cheesecake was tasteless and the ice cream was really frosty. It was nothing like what a cheesecake should be. Food looked good but classic case of looks can be deceiving.

Staff was nice and welcoming. They were also kid-friendly (crayons and coloring book). Food was good overall. We got the Linguine and the buger. Both were great and fries were homemade. The only tiny deception was the crème brûlée. Its texture was not exactly smooth.

Cannot fault this place one bit. Friendly, professional and kind staff. The quality of the food is supreme and the presentation for all dishes was stunning. Wonderful experience, reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Had a beautiful anniversary dinner. They really went out there way to make sure we had a special evening. Roses and candles on the table, the atmosphere was intimate and lovely. The food was incredible, great options on the menu it was hard to choose. Definetely would like to go back again, thanks for creating a memorable anniversary for us

This is a nice little bistro in a very handy location. The veggie options are good (not everywhere can boast that) and the lamb kofte was exactly as it should be. I'd go back here for sure.

We had a wonderful time at Fig & Thistle for Hogmanay. Definitely a great memory for us, the food was excellent, employees and other customers were so nice, our waiter even knew a few words in french ! They also gave us good advices to get a spot for Hogmanay's fireworks, thanks again we hope to come back !

A small, quiet restaurant. A but out of the way but a beautiful atmosphere. My partner and I had the tomato soup, a pasta dish, and the cheese board to split for dessert. The tomatos in the goat cheese penne pasta were to die for, as well as the pasta itself. A great meal and well worth the price!

Best place to eat in Inverness by far! We spent a week exploring the beautiful city of Inverness and were so pleased to have discovered this gorgeous cosy bistro! Richard is a kind and friendly owner who really takes an interest in his customers. The rest of the staff are charming and hospitable. The food is on a league of its own and the portion sizes are very generous! We definitely recommend the haggis bon bons and goats cheese tartlet! Absolutely delicious! We can't wait to come back! Absolutely amazing dinner here! Our group of 4 made a reservation earlier in the week for a weekend and had a lovely time. Our server was accommodating, kind, friendly, and attentive. All 4 of our meals (apps and desserts incl) were all fantastic. Highly recommend having a meal here!

Excellent meal! We’re on a foodie tour through Scotland and we’re happy to include Fig & Thistle on our stop. How could we not? Duck liver pate and the fig salad in particular were exceptional! Plus the generous portions and service from Ian made the whole experience more than lovely. Make your too book ahead or, like us, take a chance for a late walk-in. Worth. It. 🙏

Didn't get a table inside the bistro, so had to sit in the outdoor area. But it was good, with music from the nearby Italian restaurant. Food was great, so was the service. Our man was Ricky, who was really attentive and quick. Highly recommended if you are in Inverness.

I had dinner here a little over a week ago and cannot stop thinking about Fig & Thistle! The risotto was delicious, but the experience I had here was unforgettable. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. Grab a table upstairs if you can, it was terribly romantic and I hope I will be able to return someday :) Endless thanks to my date for recommending this terrific spot.

Great! We started chatting with the restaurant a week in advance to accommodate a large family of 9 and a peanut allergy. They were great in setting us up. The food, service and overall experience exceeded our expectations. Thank you!

Service was poor...felt mostly ignored as the head waiter fawned over a table of tourists..charged £36 for a steak which they overcooked. A shameful experience I won't ever repeat

Service was excellent but we were very disappointed with the food. Good presentation but I have never seen a ribeye steak that was that miniscule for the price. Prices definitely did not match the petite portions. Everything else we had was just okay.

Absolutely beautiful, my review is a bit late, sorry, the food was outstanding. I had the goats cheese soufflé ti start which was phenomenal. The rich chocolate dessert was also divine. Service was 5 star a lovely young man looked after out table and couldn't have been more attentive. Will definitely be back, thank you.

Absolutely loved our meal at Fig & Thistle. The Malaysian curry salmon had so much flavour and the mushroom linguine was so delicious. The desserts were perfect. The service was also outstanding!

The five stars are based mainly on the warm and hospitable service. The food was solid but not mind blowing. The best dish was the tomato basil soup we had for a starter. The main dishes were so so.

My husband and I ate here a few nights ago and it was a great experience. It is small so definitely make a reservation. It is well worth it! The food was delicious. I cannot stop talking about how good the broccoli soup was and so was the mushroom pasta and my husband loved their burger with chorizo. The service was fantastic as well. This was one of our favorite dining experiences in Scotland !

Was in with a group of 15 people and the staff could not have been more helpful. The food was simply delicious - prawn skewers, followed by pasta with a mushroom sauce, chicken, rocket and bacon finished off with blood orange and raspberry sorbets. The team were also very good at looking after our gluten free tour member. Nothing was too much for the team - front of house or kitchen. A big thank you and to be highly recommended.

Expected a lot from this place. It presenta as a sophisticated bistro, but the only high feature was price. The food was nothing to write home about, which is such a shame for the price tag it came with... We tried a bit of everything, from burgers to the grilled salmon. The only remarkable feature was the dessert, and the lovely service. Waiters were attentive and great. Shame they are the face of a business that doesn't match the food it promises.

Pan seared seabass (day special) and salmon curry were to die for. The chocolaty desert (name of which i forget) was also sublime. If the Fig & Thistle was closer to home we'd definitly be regulars! Staff super polite and cozy atmosphere.

Absolute gem of a restaurant in Inverness. I’ve been here twice. The food is so flavourful, well plated and delicious. Definitely make a reservation. They are booked solid and I can understand why. I had the starter of king prawns. Delicious. Then I had the goat cheese tart (gluten free option) followed by the Lemon White Chocolate Panne Cotta. It was sublime. If I am ever in Inverness again I will definitely plan to eat there again.

The guys saved us after finding no seats in any restaurant in Inverness. They gave us a table outside only to move us inside after a Table inside got free. The staff is all very lovely and kind. The meals are really great. The service is extremely good and caring compared to the rest of the restaurants in Inverness, which clearly isn't the case. Only the banana sponge could maybe turned into traditional sticky toffee pudding with hot caramel sauce, which would taste much better in my personal opinion:)

We were delighted with the atmosphere and the friendly staff that welcomed us. Food was absolutely delicious and loved the drinks. Staff was attentive and even the owners checked on us. What's important to me is that they offer gluten free meals and if you have more food intolerance they will cater to it. We will definitely return. Thank you so much!

What a find! Lovely little restaurant. We sat upstairs and there was a lovely cosy atmosphere. The Venison Haggis Burger was delicious and you should try if you want a bit of scottish flavour! House fine wine town well and we shared a divine dessert. Yum

Food was amazing. Great atmosphere. For starter we had carrot curried soup. It was delicious and what we needed after being outside on a cold day. For main I had coconut curry souce with salmon. Never before it crossed my mind it will go so nicely together. We recommend Fig and thistle. :)

This has to be one of the best restaurants in Inverness! The quality of the food as well as presentation is excellent. There is one dish my wife loves, but rather than chicken as per the menu Helen asked of she could have prawns! This was done without any fuss! Friends with whom we have visited the Fig & Thistle all agree that this is the place to eat out!

I was served by Ian, Vicky and Richard. I could not have been made to feel more welcome, as a solo traveler it is people like these who make or break a trip. I was served quality food and drink at a reasonable price and the service was second to none, despite full tables I was made to feel like a VIP. Can not recommend highly enough. Get yourself down there!

Staff very knowledgeable and friendly, food excellent, perfectly cooked and presented. Tables close together, however if you phone ahead to book window area at front could suit wheelchair. Also if using a wheelchair the restaurant is at the bottom of the steep hill, so accessible.

Ein gemütliches, recht kleines Restaurant mit ausgefallener, köstlicher Küche! Das Restaurant ist sehr gut besucht, also auf jeden Fall einen Tisch reservieren! Die Gerichte sind ausgefallen, es ist auch für Vegetarier gesorgt. Auch Lebensmittelunverträglichkeiten sind kein Problem! Wir mussten auf unser Essen etwas warten, dafür war aber auch alles frisch! Insbesondere die Panna Cotta war ein Traum! Die Beste, die ich ich je gegessen habe!

Very cute spot. Friendly service, and delicious food. Portions were quite large. The salmon with curry was delicious. The mushroom linguine was great too, though the chicken in it was under seasoned. Overall would recommend!
