Florentino's in Carmarthenshire

We hadn't booked but a table was found for us, the room was quite full. The meal was delicious, but quite expensive for what it was, spaghetti and lasagne. The staff were very friendly and helpful, there was a great "feel" about the room. The tiramisu was the highlight of the meal.

First time here after plenty of good reviews. This is by far the best Italian I have been too. The service is exceptional. When you visit here, remember you get what you pay for! I can’t recommend enough, we will be paying another visit

I forgot how good the food is at Florentino's. It is not cheap and prices have increased but the food and service is exceptional. I had the Spaghetti Alla Scoglio and my wife the Risotto Frutti Di Mare. Both dishes were great. if you have an occassion then don't hesitate to go. Only thing that puts me off going more often is the price increase - £25 and £26 for a lunchtime mains.

Wonderful food, beautifully presented and exceptionally fresh. The seafood platter for two, is exceptional and in fairness great value for money. I ahde the best sea bass i have ever had here.

I've frequented this restaurant since it first opened. I've been a regular for businesses lunches and family dinners. I called earlier today to book a downstairs table for tonight. I was assured that one was available. I turned up: it wasn't. No apology was offered. It's not the end of the world but I won't go back.

Excellent as always. I cannot understand the bad reviews recently. We go here regularly and always have a fantastic time. Food is superb, service friendly and the portion sizes are more than enough.It's a firm family and special occasion favourite with all our holiday cottage guest aswell as locals/! We gasped at the increase in prices, most pasta and pizza was £22-£25 which is criminal. Cocktails £12, desserts £12. These are central London top tier restaurant prices. The waiter was pushy trying to get us to order bread, olives, go for a whole bottle of wine and pushing the dessert menu on us, it was too much. Don’t get me wrong the food and portion size was good but the prices are unjustifiable.

A very mediocre meal (just pasta) the carbonara was very oily and salmon tagliatelle rubbery and tasteless, disappointing garlic bread. I was very shocked at the price especially the wine (£9.99 a glass) unfortunately I ordered without checking the menu. £70 for two people. Staff were fairly attentive so was going to tip but I had no cash so i was going to round up the card payment. When I was told I couldn’t one of the waiters became quite aggressive and was challenging us asking very loudly if we had been pleased with our service. There was nothing I could do as I had no cash so left feeling very embarrassed. It will put me off a revisit.

Disappointing! We’ve visited a few times before & have enjoyed ourselves enough to return. Though it wasn’t the cheapest restaurant in town we felt it was value for money. Sadly not any longer. We had four main courses, with one bottle of house wine, the total bill for this was £114! I appreciate prices have risen but this was a rise too far. We will not be returning as though the food was good it was not at a level to warrant this price.

I visited on a Friday evening in a group of 25+. The staff were extremely rude and abrupt right from the start. The restaurant was very busy but our food was served promptly. Most of us thoroughly enjoyed our food but the prices were very high. The drinks were especially expensive. When we asked to pay we were told we couldn't pay individually. So one person on our table had to pay for about 10 people. This was extremely inconvenient and embarrassing. However I afterwards found that other members of our group on different tables were allowed to pay individually. I won't be returning there .

What a find. It's a proper Italian Restaurant with great atmosphere, great food and good service. We went here for my wife's birthday, we'll be going again when it's my birthday or we're in town next.

We have had good meals here previously. But this visit we had bad service - orders mixed up, food cold and not well cooked. Hope things get better.

Fantastic spot with top of the range food and service. Costa was our waiter and his service was outstanding throughout the night. Food was amazing and came to our table at a great time. Truly not one to miss whether you’re on holiday or live in the area.

We booked for Sunday night and again have a wonderful experience in Florentino's. I wonder starter carpacio salmone,lovely wine italian Orvieto and my favourite seeabas cooking in oven pizza with vegetables. Affogato and the end with Amaretto digestiv. Definitely recommended this amazing restaurant.

This restaurant is charming and rustic. Very authentic and reminded me of trips to Florence. The food was exceptional and the staff were very attentive and the whole place has charm and a lovely ambience. Would highly recommend.

Average restaurant experience really. Very helpful and polite waitress so that made it better. The pizzas and tagliatelle were cooked to perfection but the fries were way too salty. It isn’t orientated towards families and is definitely a restaurant geared at adults.

I had dinner at the location and was really impressed both by the food and the selections of the drinks, as well as by the quality services I received. As for the waiter Costa, both I and my friends were pleasantly surprised by the sociability and professionalism he demonstrated, being a communicative and pleasant person. Food was average. Waiter was extremely rude and aggressive. When asked questions about the menu, simply answered back ‘eh?’ And looked at me as if I was literally stupid. When asked if we could have a dish but without the mushrooms included was simply told no because the food is fresh. Definitely ‘fresh’ out of the freezer! When it came to paying the bill, we asked if we could split the bill because my Dad and I wanted to treat my Mum for her birthday. The waiter looked at us in complete disgust and said that my Dad should be the one paying. Felt extremely uncomfortable and judged. The owner of the restaurant needs to invest in some customer service training for the staff. Won’t be returning and will be sure to spread the word! :)

This was my third visit to this restaurant and definitely my worst. If I could email the restaurant direct I would. The food was okay but the waiter definitely wasn’t. He was rude and bordering on aggressive. When my daughter asked for a dish but without the mushrooms he literally said ‘no’ to her, that this was the dish and told her to choose something else, blaming the chef. His manner was ignorant, just saying ‘eh?’ whenever something was asked about the menu. We wanted to split the bill at the end and he questioned my husband why he wasn’t paying for our daughter - incredibly rude. My daughter felt really uncomfortable as this was actually my birthday meal out. We will not be returning which is a shame, but 3 strikes now. Tip? Review your staff and their customer service please.

Fabulous Italian restaurant in the heart of Carmarthen. Staff are very helpful and service was also exceptional. Decor well done and a comfortable place to sit and chat. Food was well presented and cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.

Stunning, we called in for an early evening meal, ordered a main, but loved the smell of the Garlic bread, we ordered one for starters. We will be back.

Portions very generous. My seafood pasta was outstanding sadly my wife's pork with mushrooms she felt was too tough to eat. My starter of ham & melon and my dessert was superb. Very good quality wine on offer at a fair price. Would I visit again? Yes.

Booked as a large group of 13 to eat here. Nicely decorated but very cramped upstairs where we sat and the amount of noise that was in the room reflected this. The problems began when it was time to order. The waiter decided to stand at the top end of the table and shout to everyone instead of moving around the table, definitely didn't help with the noise and at one point he insulted one of the people I was with. I believe it was intended as a joke but not something that should happen. Once the orders were taken the food came quickly and was nice. I wasn't blown away by it but it was good. Based purely on the food my review would be a solid 4* but the service really let it down Once we were finished the wait staff then decided they didn't want to split the bill (despite my asking) forcing me to pay the full amount (£400+) and get everyone else to pay me. I don't think I'll be back. Certainly not for a group meal ever again. Shame really as my review from 4 years ago gave 5* for everything but all of us left there dissatisfied

When we arrived the restaurant was nearly empty and we were offered a couple of seating options, we selected the first floor, I am glad we got there when we did, within 20 minutes of our arrival the place was heaving. So what is to be said about this restaurant. It is comfortable with a great selection of tasty, well cooked and presented, starters, mains, deserts and coffee. We started with the Focaccia Bread and Antipasto, both excellent to follow I had Peposo Alla Fiorentina (a really rich beef stew cooked in Chianti and served with polenta) my guest had Calzone Salamino Piccante again both were exellent choices, deserts were Glace and a portion of Torta Della Nonna and coffee that finished off a superb meal in a really good restaurant The atmosphere is bustling and the staff although busy are friendly professional and helpful, there are a good selections of wines and bears on offer but the non alcoholic beverages are soft drinks only . There is plenty of of parking in an adjacent pay and display car park, the toilets are modern, fresh and clean. If you are in Carmarthen then this is a must visit restaurant

First time visit yesterday, we wanted to go somewhere special for our wedding anniversary and are glad we chose Florentino's To start, we shared the dough balls with prosciutto and cream cheese For main, I had the lobster and spaghetti. My husband had the lasagne and a side of chips To finish, we shared the Nutella calzone All courses were absolutely beautiful and were very large portions. Great Italian serving real good Italian food. The menu is wide-ranged and varied. Food cooked to perfection, with excellent service. Great place for large parties and celebration dinners. It was quiet at 6 pm when we turned in but by 7 pm it was buzzing, best to book a table.

We had a great meal al fresco, just two weeks ago. Friday night at Florentino's seemed to be THE place to be in Carmarthen. Excellent cocktails, and great service from Marek (thank you). My wife definitely enjoyed her margarita!

We sat outside as it was too hot inside and tables had been moved. The marquees put up weren't quite big enough to provide enough shade and eating in the hot sun was uncomfortable. But the food and staff were amazing.

What a fantastic place! Food was incredible, the fish selection is great and the fish platter is phenomenal value with lobster, king prawns and squid. Great service with huge portions. The setting outside is lovely. A must visit if you are in Carmarthen.

Came here with my wife for a date night and was not disappointed at all !!! Our food was absolutely delicious !! I had lasagne and my wife had the lobster dish. I would definitely recommend. Staff were friendly, helpful & welcomimg. Atmosphere was amazing. The portions were very generous, presented of food was excellent. Thankyou so much we had a fantastic evening!!!

Very nice place, great food and friendly staff

We ate here with 2 adults, 2 teenagers and a child. The food was fabulous. Real Italian food and atmosphere. The waiters were really friendly. Portions are big. We were able to get a doggy bag. Desserts are homemade and not bought in. Don’t get the ice cream😉

A very pleasant meal, the Sea Bass I had was lovely. I think my wife and son would have liked smaller pizzas, but that's not a complaint. The on the house limoncello was a good one, too, and reminded me of visits to Italy very pleasantly.

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere eating outside listening to nearby live music. Cheerful, attentive staff and fantastic food. I had the vegetable pizza and it was packed full of toppings, best pizza I've ever had. Everyone at the table loved their food, would definitely come back.

Beware when ordering wine. We asked for a bottle of house red at £20ish. We where than given a rapid option of choices which we assumed were varieties of house red....but when the bill arrived we found we had chosen a £46 bottle of wine. It wasn't great either. Very waffely explanation followed. Check and double check your order!!!
