Harbour Lights in North Ayrshire

First time there and certainly did not disappoint . The food, staff and general atmosphere where fab cant wait for a return visit 😋🥰 Jxx

Excellent lunch, we had the special, pan fried chicken with pesto tagliatelle & Parmesan shavings. Delicious. Staff very friendly & attentive. Love it.

Nice setting, service was good, main meal of steak pie, all we could taste was pepper, some of the steak was solid, pretty expensive as well.

Excellent service and lunch. Me and my mum took my dog in for some lunch after going to the beach and we were greeted with a lovely atmosphere straight away. Food was lovely and fast. They even made sure my dog had water and a treat. We ordered some chicken for her and she wouldn't stop looking at the lady for more. Lovely place & staff 5/5

This is hands down the place to be in Irvine! Whether it be for a wee lunch or a dinner, or dinner and a night out! The food is amazing and They have the best staff, friendly atmosphere and great entertainment all weekend.

We dropped in for a light bite lunch and were delighted with the menu choices . The staff were very attentive and on the ball. Pleasant and comfortable place with affordable food. Great food, drinks, staff and excellent entertainment each weekend. The bonus is the location on the Harbour side for a wee dander before or after your visit.... Jim and Issi x

Great pub for any occasion. I have been with my partner and four year old for a family meal and many times with friends for a night out. The food is always amazing, staff are extremely helpful and the atmosphere outstanding. Would recommend.

I love the harbour lights come here often for the burger night and can never fault the staff or the food. Decided to try the steak night, I haven't eaten a steak for 7 years or there abouts and credits to the chef James the steak was cook and seasoned to perfection as was my dad's. Can not praise the chef enough, the wait staff and bar staff provided incredible service and were unbelievably friendly. Can't recommend this place enough

Recently attended for a birthday dinner. As per usual the service was great. Food had been preordered due to our table being larger and it all came out fast. Not one fault did anyone have with the food everything was amazing!

Had the special today. I don't say this lightly but it was honestly outstanding. One of the best meals I've had in a long time.

Decent deal for the money but on this occasion didn't expect to be running down stairs to reach shared toilet or shower. At the start it was fairly easy place to reach especially lare night as we were on our trip . Number provided turns out to be useless as address is just a door with some keypad lock and after calling a number nobody did answer. Luckily with kids got inside pub to figure out it was place to go for access codes. Once got them locks are pretty hard to operate as when we experience them after walk couldn't get them open stood there for some time keep selecting numbers. Positive was fact to get to the room pre warmed and whole family got together in one room which was a bonus having 3 kids. Must admit having microwave and fridge in the room was great 👍

Decided to go for a few drinks and a meal with a work colleague, everything was fantastic from the service to the food. Well done to all involved.

We went as quite a large family group of 22 which included 3 children and a baby. Food was excellent, freshly made to match our preorder (as requested due to size of group) and was good value. The service was also really good, nothing was too much trouble and the staff were very courteous and efficient. Only slight disappointment for a couple of our group was no cocktails available on the day but they managed OK on wine and prosseco!

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Harbour Lights restaurant for two consecutive nights. The experience exceeded all expectations. On our first night, Kacie provided impeccable service, while on the second night, Josh continued the trend of excellence. Both nights the service went above and beyond with every member of staff we encountered being friendly and attentive, even if only briefly. The manager was particularly welcoming and accommodating. As for the food, it was truly outstanding. I enjoyed it so much that I opted for the same dish on both nights and it did not disappoint. The chips were a highlight – real chips that were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Harbour Lights to others looking for exceptional service and fantastic food.

Service is good but food is a total rip off, tiniest sized fish being charged at £16 as regular. Had about 10pieces of chips. Bland mushy peas that we had to pay extra doesn’t deserve to be on the menu. They can’t even make a sofa and lime.

Just here for one night and the food was great and the service was excellent

Wee had a lovely meal and stayed on for the karaoke. The regulars made us feel very welcome.and excellent staff.

Lovely restaurant pub down the lovely harbour side in Irvine. Oodles of personality. Where the people who work there do seem to know all the regulars names. Nicola served us and what a truly lovely cheery lady she was. A pleasure to be served by her. All staff attentive. Main but though is that the food is fabulous. We had a lovely meal. This is the second time in 2 weeks we have been there and just as good as the first. Drink costs very reasonable. Thanks to all at the Harbourlights for their attentive service and great hospitality. Plus the onion rings, salt chilli extra crispy. Yummmmm. We will be back. Parking is outside on the main road. Plenty of parking around the area. Separate small function suite. Overall we find the Harbourlights a great place to come. Please give it a go

First visit to this venue. Very busy and very noisy! Staff are friendly and welcoming but obviously under pressure with the lunchtime rush. My meal , chicken with pastry, was dry and, to be honest, tasteless. My other half had cajun chicken crepes, which she enjoyed. Not writing off this place and will re - visit.

What a fantastic place to eat ,the food and the staff were amazing, we arrived for the first time after a recommendation and from the outside it looked small but it was like a tardis In side, we hadn't booked on a busy Saturday afternoon but they managed to move things around and got us a table , they get a 10 out of 10 from us.. thankyous

Went on a recommendation of a friend on a Friday night, food was so good I went back on the Sunday and had possibly the best roast beef dinner I have ever ate, there's a reason you have to book in advance! The lady who served us on the Sunday (slightly more mature ) was absolutely first class at her job, instant rapport with customer's and nothing was a problem, can't wait to go back!!

If you work here make sure you don’t get sick as you’ll get sacked and also take note of your hours you do as there was a few times my hours were wrong and didn’t get my full pay

Great local pub, good value, good food, friendly and good service. Located in historic harbour area with nice walks and views. Great for lunch or evening with entertainment. I would recommend to a friend.

Went here for a family birthday. Staff were great & attention to detail 5* We had a good variety of dishes from the menu & every one of them was first class. Food amazing Really busy & lively atmosphere & the singer covered a great range of music - something to suit everyone Personally it was just too loud & busy but that's probably an age thing 😊 they were the very things that appealed to the younger members of our party Ultimately if you're looking for good food, a good atmosphere & general buzz in Irvine, this is the place to go

Fantastic experience, ambience was great, friendly staff, food was excellent. Our friends from Norfolk really enjoyed the food, Paul rated the fish the best he ever had. Nothing was left on the plates, estimate to how good it was.

Went in for the buy one get one free burger on Wednesday and can honestly say was the best burger combo I’ve had was cooked amazingly loads on plate couldn’t wait to get home afterwards for a nap! Defo be back and highly recommend

Nice little pub with a varied food menu. I ordered the Steak wrap and for the price I was surprised how nice the steak was, succulent and cooked well. Brilliant value for money. Friendly staff and also dog friendly which is a plus. Will definitely be back next time I am in Irvine.

Had a great time at harbour lights Irvin, friendly staff, very attentive, my wife and I loved the food, it’s pet friendly so we took our Scottish terrier “Dougal” and stayed for a few drinks after our meal. Would recommend this venue if visiting the harbour area

We visited The Harbour Lights whilst motorhome touring and are so glad we did. We were greeted immediately and were shown to a table, given a menu and Tod of the day's choices and offers. Luckily for us it was buy one get one free burger night. The burgers were delicious, the best I've had in a long time. I had the brisket burger which was so tasty I can still taste it now. Service was very good, warm and genuine, the atmosphere was very good as well, relaxed and cheerful. If you are in the area I strongly recommend you give this a try, I'm only sorry we weren't staying longer as I would love to try some of the other dishes on the menu. Well done 10/10

We had a lovely early supper on New Year's Eve. The pub was bustling, the staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating and the food (choice and quality) was fantastic.

The Sticky Toffee is to die for!!! Went for the Tempura Tuesday, wish they spoke you through the offer as it was a bit confusing, we ended up getting plain chicken tempura to find out there was options such as salt and chilli but it wasn’t on the menu, service was slow, as staff were taking lunch breaks so only one member of staff to serve 5 tables or so, nice atmosphere.

Must be the best pub in the town . I haven't given food any marks only because eating is cheating . A great pub pitty its not a bit bigger then agein would mibby lose its charm great staff and good choice

Staff were engaging ans attentive which stood out because of the young age of staff....younger staff in other places from experience tend to not care for hard work or customer care so 100% for the staff and food.

Out with friends for Christmas menu. Delish 3 courses for under £30. Had Brie starter, ham main course and sticky toffee pudding. Great service from staff and all the team seemed happy and approachable. Booked again for work lunch, looking forward to it, keep up...

I must be missing something as I don't see why this place has such great reviews.....it was our first visit here in many years, and it was a bit disappointing to be honest. The menu looked good and had plenty of choice, the starters were nice but the mains were very disappointing, the tempura wasn't great, the chips undercooked, no garnish or salad with it either, they were very small portions for the price of £14. The katsu curry was thick and lumpy and tiny for the price. The desserts were nice but very overpriced and the service certainly wasn't the best. At the end of the day, this is a pub which is charging prices you would expect at a high end restaurant, it wasnt worth the price we paid. Doubt we would rush back!

Worst meal I've ever had, macaroni was absolutely tasteless, staff had no interest in there customers, had to ask for vinegar and was not approached and asked how our meal was, would not return .

Not enough separation from the bar, so can get very noisy in the restaurant area. Food is good.

Fab place, first time there in years, great food portion and great price. I thought it was a football fan place, definitely not, can't wait to go back and take any visitors we have.

A truly hidden gem, from the moment we, my partner and our dog, entered i felt at ease. The smell was delicious the service and helpful staff were without fault and the food was perfect, I'd even say I had more than I could eat. So i took what was left home in a box. We couldn't take the dog into the restaurant section but that made no difference. I highly recommend visiting the Harbour lights. I wasn't disappointed and I doubt you will be either.

Had an amazing experience here! Phoned up beforehand and Kenny was great in answering all questions and was very accommodating upon arrival too along with all other staff. A spacious beer garden out the back for dogs and drinks and an extensive menu at great prices. The food was extraordinary and portion sizes were great. Full 5 stars 10/10 across the board - will be returning

Came here with the wife for the tempura steak got in door at 5.20 pm wait about 10 min to be seen when we finally got seated and got the menu we were coming for the special so didn't bother looking at the waited long for someone to take the order (about 20 minutes) so order in asked if we would like a drink wife had glass of strongbow cider and so about 8/10 minutes the waitress brings the napkins salt and pepper and knife and fork all good thinking we would be getting something to eat soon the waitress comes back 5 minutes later and takes our knife away and says it's a tempura steak you're having and changes the knife for a steak knife finally when the meal arrives at 6.20 pm to my amazement I find the 5 Oz steak all Cut up and looking like one steak cut between the two 2.half each I feel that this has not been advertised correctly and definitely not value of the money it seems to me the staff I'm more interested the people drinking at the bar than people actually in to eat seems like very disorganised no communication actually had to ask somebody who takes your order to be told someone will be with you soon 🥴🥱 I have uploaded a picture of my plate which I just poured the peppercorn sauce on you can see how much steak is on the plate also go ask if you like another drink and my wife ask for another strongbow to be given a glass of magners Cider would not come back here 👎
