Lawthorn Farm Indian Restaurant & Pub in North Ayrshire

Owners and staff are great. Always made to feel welcome. All the regular customers make you feel welcome too. The food is delicious and not overpriced either. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to eat out or just sit in a brilliant atmosphere to have a drink.

The hidden jewel of Scotland. Jagdev n the Singh bros. You guys have made Scotland proud. Stupendous Punjabi cuisine, best Punjabi hospitality, great service, if you visit Glasgow,Irvine, Ayr this place is a must. Why because they make you feel at home, because service comes from this family's heart, because they are just kind, caring n loving people. Do they deserve all these accolades, the answer is a resounding yes, yes and yes. The eight of us who made this trip for golf, this restaurant have made our stay much more memorable. Well done you guys. I would have given your restaurant 2 Michelin stars if I was a judge.

Absolutely fantastic Christmas dinner. Both traditional food and Indian food were phenomenal. Staff, as always, friendly and efficient. Been a few years now and will continue to come back.

3 different pakoras - 1st class 3 mains - every guest enjoyed their main. 1 lager- lovely 2 wines- lovely and fruity 2 soda blackcurrant - refreshing 1 diet coke, diet coke is diet coke

Fan dabbie Dozier, Mushroom pakora and Haggis pakora excellent said my fellow guests. I had cauliflower pakora loved the light batter. Indian lamb chops tasted beautiful, Chicken Tikka masala lovely. I had South Indian chilli chicken , so nice.😋😋😋 Pershwani and Plain Nan 😋😋😋😋

Home delivery tonight. Meal was only just warm on delivery. Channa puri has had a change in recipe and was tasteless.

First time I've been. Will definitely be back. Was quiet when we went in, but it was early. It was full by the time we left. Looks like an old converted barn. Lots of interesting photos and embroidery on the walls. It immediately feels comfortable and is spotlessly clean. Tables were also spotless. We had only been at the table a couple of minutes when poppadoms and spiced onions were put down. When we ordered starters the 'owner' told us we had to many. We didn't need one each, it was too much food. We took one off. He was right. I think we left 2 or 3 pieces of pakora. It was the same with the mains. We didn't need a rice each. The food was excellent. Freshly made and good quality. The advice about portions was correct and appreciated. Would absolutely recommend. Definitely phone and book a table.

Visited as a couple for dinner with no reservation. Staff were helpful, attentive and able to advise on gluten free options. The food was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend this place.

We have been going to the Lawthorn Farm for approx 15years. We go as a couple, we also go with family for special occasions and we also go with friends, we have also been on Christmas day too. We'd highly recommend the Lawthorn Farm for any occasion. Only one negative point is - we have noticed over the last couple of months a rather large rise in prices.

THE best Indian food! I live in Barcelona and when I come back to visit home it is absolutely obligatory to have a Lawthorn. Plenty of veggie options, the food is always fresh and delicious. The only negative is that Indian restaurants in Spain are all a massive disappointment compared to this place!

I was told that this restaurant was amazing so I tried it out tonight I got chicken pakora and soft Indian garlic chill with rice and Nan bread first couple of pieces of chicken were nice and the rest were dried up and the lamb in the curry was not soft but chuck the sauce was amazing and when I contacted the restaurant they were not interested

After eating here in March we decided to return on Father's Day. The speed of service was quicker this visit, but ironically the food wasn't as good. Also, my vegetarian wife was brought chicken rogan josh instead of the vegetarian one as ordered and didn't realise until she had dipped a piece of nan bread into it and eaten it. We understand mistakes can be made, but this was a biggie and fortunately my wife is not allergic to chicken. They were very apologetic, but this shouldn't happen.

Friendly family run restaurant and pub.

Spent 35 quid on 2 rogan joshes. Tasted of chilli and too fruity. An absolute waste of money could make better myself. Lesson learned.

This has got to be the best Indian restaurant in Scotland. The flavours and the quality is superb, you have to try, you will be hooked.

Food is ok, portions on the small side. Service is over friendly. No offence to them but I want to speak to who I am with nor th waiting staff. I know it's hard but this is very similar to all other Indians with no stand out dishes and over friendly staff. It's also not cheap but it is in a nice building

Dear fellow foodies, I regret to inform you that my recent experience at Lawthorn Farm Pub was rather disappointing. Despite my high hopes for a satisfying meal, I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth, quite literally. Upon arrival, I noticed that the fork and knife provided at my table were still dirty, which immediately raised concerns about the cleanliness of the restaurant. The food, unfortunately, did not make up for this initial disappointment. In fact, I found it to be of extremely low quality - lacking in flavor and presentation. It was clear that little care or consideration had been given to the preparation and cooking of the dishes. Overall, I cannot recommended this establishment for a pleasant dining experience. I hope that management will take necessary measures to ensure cleanliness and better quality in the future. Until then, I suggest looking elsewhere for a truly satisfying meal. Staff from the outset were good.. Vegetable pakora were probably the best i have ever had tasted!! But mains were average .

Opted for the buffet, the starters were good but the meals were small, but very tasty. My main problem was the young lassie serving us. She was just disinterested, and at times ignoring us, therefore leaving us with no drinks for quite so time. She also couldn’t care less about the approximately £27 tip we gave her not even a thanks or acknowledgement, just swiped the card reader away and disappeared without a look or r acknowledgement. I’m sure there weren’t many family’s that day spending over £300. Left a sour note to what was a special birthday celebration.

Tried the Lawthorn on recommendation of a mate who lives in Irvine. It was very good. The service was a bit random, but we weren't in a rush so didn't really affect the meal. Planning to return.

Excellent meal staff amazing great place to eat

Heard nothing but great things about Lawthorn food from friends and family. A large group of us put in an order of about £180 worth to be delivered. Food was delivered on time and all items were included in the delivery. I myself ordered a chicken chasni with boiled rice which was lovely, a tad on the sweet side for me but still a lovely meal! The nan, popadoms and sauces were all great too. However, we ordered two portions of chicken pakora with our meal which I began to eat after my chasni. I thought it was a little chewy so looked inside them. The chicken was found to be raw through several bits which was a huge let down as well as a health risk. I’m afraid I have to give the lawthorn a 3/10 for this as the chicken bits weren’t that large so no excuse to not have it cooked properly. Disappointed and may try again in the future but will be avoiding the raw pakora..

I visited the lawthorn tonight with a colleague who had been there before I was pleasantly surprised with a beautiful meal a couple of kingfisher beers and fantastic service from the staff/owners I would happily recommend this wonderful restaurant to all

Chicken Biryani was pretty good.

The service is good. But unfortunately the food was horrible. Thank god the starter we had samosa and it was the best I ever had. But the main nooo. But one of the mains was super salty and the owner didn't charge us for that. So the service was exceptional

Microwave food! It was so so hot!! Only a microwave could take the core temperature to that…… every mouthful was a challenge

First time visit, was exceptional. I've scored four on food but this is because first visit. Staff very friendly and helpful. Was driving so no beers, but certainly somewhere to go in the summer to sit out and drizzle in the splendor of the atmosphere.

The Man Utd of Indian Restaurants. Used to be brilliant; now no better than average. Third try in recent months and consistently quite poor. Both curries tonight were poor. Not 100% convinced the lamb wasn't beef (not for the first time). Naan bread flat and tasteless, chicken pakora dry and chewy.. Its a shame as it used to be the best in Ayrshire

Went on Saturday night. For a start they seemed more interested in the take-away side than their customers who were actually there. The staff were bossy and intrusive. We had hardly picked up the menus when the person whom I assumed was the manager came up and said "What you want?" So rude and unfriendly. We asked for some time to look at the menu as this was our first time there. Apparently 'some time' is less than 2 minutes. I'll point out that drinks hadn't even been ordered at this point. We ordered a selection of pakoras for our starters between 4 of us and the best we could say was 'meh'! 3 of our table ordered the mixed tandoori. Without sounding patronising, tandoori is supposed to be seared on the outside so that the inside stays moist and juicy however the pieces of leather thet received would have been better suited to a shoe factory. I myself ordered a curry and asked for it to be 'hot'. Any of you that has ever eaten Indian food will know that that means a 'sweat' but alas no. I called the manager over and pointed this out and he just walked away without a word. He reappeared a few minutes later with 4 chillies on a plate and just plopped them down. This was the final straw for us and we told the manager that we'd pay for our drinks and the starters but we were done and leaving. Funnily enough he never even attempted to defend the food or cooking. So in summary if you want a good Indian meal then go to the Torranyard!

Always liked this place, but whats happened to it?...ordered a takeaway tonight, 30 quid down for 2 curries a cheese nan, peshwari nan. The nan breads were an absolute joke...small and tasteless with hardly any filling. loads of watery stuff separated from the curry. The south indian wasnt the usual colour either. Defo not worth the money

Really tasty Indian nothing bad to say, everything was delicious. Normally go to motherland spice in saltcoats, this is just as good if not better! Only flaw was could have been a bit spicier but that's a personal preference. Definitely be back!

Best Indian restaurant in local area great meal and great prices

The worst Indian I have ever eaten!!!! Arrived luke warm with tubs crushed and sauce spewing out the sides. Chicken Maryland (for kids) was soggy, rubbery and unedible. It was also bread crumbed instead of battered sooo not a chicken marlyland. My vegi curry tasted like a poorly made Korma and certainly not like coconut and pistachios, infact it tasted like creamy potatoes as that's all it was. My wife's wasn't much better with rubbery disgusting chicken There was also a random tub full of chicken wings just chucked in that looked like they had been run over by a car. £40 in the bin because that's where it all went and now im making pasta so we actually get some food in us tonight. Never ever would i recommend this awful Indian nor will I EVER eat here again 🤮🤮
