Millside Restaurant in Ballymena

Called in today after a stressful appointment. Best decision ever. Food was first class as always and really helped us relax . Girls were so friendly and even the chef came out to greet us after hearing that our we princess (my drand daughter)was having a check out behind serving area. .

My husband and I met good friends here for lunch. The menu is extensive and really reasonably priced. The service was good. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. We sat for quite a while chatting after the meal and were not made to feel unwelcome. We will definitely be back.

Superb restaurant, delicious food and great portions.

Great lunch experience with family members. Food delicious ( we all ordered something different ) and the menu was quite extensive. Both ladies who waited on our party were very friendly and approachable. Definitely a return visit is on the cards. The owner was very hospitable also.

Was here way few work friends. Had a good laugh and staff went above and beyond to make our visit very enjoyable.. food was 100% ill b back.next time with a goodie bag as portions amazingly big. Cant fault the place at all.

Young girls are very unprofessional towards male partners, didn’t acknowledge females of the party at the start, or giving menus etc - continued to stare intently at males any time at table. The males felt very uncomfortable and after tonight my partner doesn’t want to return. We ate in both restaurants this month, Sat 13th and 31st Jan, same experiences with two young waitresses with blonde hair. It has been commented in our work circles and wider friends of similar experiences. It’s a pity as the food is beautiful but just a very strange atmosphere and when working professionals, it is nice to enjoy an evening out. We have never experienced that level of unprofessionalism elsewhere. I rarely leave a poor review but would go elsewhere for service.

We enjoyed a triple birthday celebration with extended family on a Saturday afternoon at Millside. We arrived a differing times, yet that was not an issue for the staff. We all enjoyed our main course dishes, desserts and coffees. Every single dish was delicious. I had the Bang Bang Chicken with half rice and half chips. Followed by profiteroles which were beautifully presented as well as being very tasty. The staff are so hospitable and go out of their way to ensure that everyone's needs are met. Highly recommended

We recently visited this so called restaurant. We were very disappointed with the food we ordered and extremely disappointed with the service we received. This place is no more than a glorified cafe that charges restaurant prices. take your money somewhere else.

I've had some good experiences in this restaurant but last night I had an extremely disappointing meal. The roast beef was very dry and chewy and the Yorkshire pudding it was served in was not soft at all as a Yorkshire should be. Very disappointed. Starter and dessert let down by the main course massively!

A quaint little restaurant in an unexpectedly quaint village & an old school on top. Not the my last visit there as it all went well. Quality was good but the soup rather salty otherwise 5* staff friendly and caring. I can see why the win all the awards that they have. Well done and keep up the good work 👏

My wife and I called here on the recommendation of a friend. We wanted a more substantial lunch than just our usual sandwich. She had the Chicken Maryland with garlic wedges which had a large chicken fillet with sausage, bacon, pineapple and banana fritters as well as peas and a wee bite of salad. There was a generous portion of large potato wedges doused in garlic butter. I had the breaded chicken goujons with chilli potato wedges which offered 5 large goujons with a wee bite of salad and a generous portion of large wedges doused in chilli sauce. This was excellent food at very reasonable prices and offered a very substantial meal. Very highly recommended!!

Restaurant is in a very nice location. The décor is fresh. Food was very good. The staff were polite but could have been a little more personable but apart from that very good.

Sunday lunch with family was excellent

We come here for a meal every week and the food is always ourstanding. Staff are always friendly and go above and beyond every time. We as a large group of 25 had a fabulous meal for my husbands 60th birthday ..yes we pre ordered as you can guess it made it easier for the staff ...the food was absolutely amazing ...everyone commented on how good it was.. The staff were so accommodating and the service was great..I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a night out ..well done to all staff for a very enjoyable evening ..thank you

This was my first visit to millside staff very friendly and helpful my wife and my self have a tolerance to some foods they got us what we could eat

Every time I come over to Ballymena I book in at Millside, one of my favourite places to eat. Never a disappointment. Will be back again soon.

But my steak was too overcooked to bite, but each main dish is really a lot!

I had the sizzling vegetables. They were fine but could have done with a bit more variety, it was mainly onion and peppers! A courgette, more mushrooms, baby corn? Just a suggestion 😄

I had heard about this place a lot and we went for dinner. Being minded to save money we chose the 'early bird' menu, and we were not alone in this as the place was packed. We had booked and got a table upstairs. We were, however, sort of squashed into the corner due to a very large group beside us, but at least a partition divider had been placed between them and us. It also seems there is not a great deal of ventilation in the place and although we were beside an open window, it had to be shut given the flies and – more annoyingly – wasps coming in that were hovering around us. So quite stifling. And I noted a number of flies buzzing around downstairs too. The staff were, however, very good and friendly as well as helpful. The early bird menu was good value and we chose well, I think. The steak strips in pepper sauce were not all that appealing to look at, and came more as a stew than anything else. But it tasted very good. The other dishes seemed to be pleasing and certainly worth the money.

This was our third visit and unfortunately we were left disappointed. The staff, as always, were very pleasant and helpful but the food was left a bit wanting. I ordered the chicken with a whiskey sauce. The chicken was bland and tasteless. The sauce must have had a dash of whiskey as it was barely noticeable. The seasonable vegetables were ok but swimming in liquid. My husband’s fish was more batter than fish although my daughter’s fish was great. The pavlova was excellent although the chocolate fudge pudding was a bit dry. The quality and consistency of food wasn’t up to the same standard as on the previous two occasions.

First time here and quite disappointing, the chorizo sauce was gloopy as if cooked earlier. The Colcannon mash didnt taste fresh, garlic fries were swimming. Millside Cloughmills is far superior. Quite pricey for poor quality. Wont rush back.

Hadn't eaten here in a while and called back to try this restaurant again recently. The food was good the regular chips were just awful that is why I took off a star cold and greasy. If you order a large soft drink a pint of it arrives we weren't aware it would be so large!! Lovely desserts and fabulous coffee. The staff are so nice, very efficient and so very hardworking, congratulations to them for keeping such a busy place running so smoothly.

Food was lovely. Food seemed to take a little long coming out however I can't understate how fresh it was. Staff were friendly. Unfortunately they don't know breakfasts anymore but highly recommend their lunch and dinner menus, and should they restart doing breakfasts then again would recommend.

Staff were excellent. Provided confidence in their understanding of gluten free requirements. Some restaurants just don't get it but Millside were all over it. Would definitely recommend.

First time here and we will definitely be back. Food was excellent staff were friendly and just the right amount of attentive. I had the lamb shank which was just the right size for me to finish every bit and the wife had chicken maryland which if anything was overly generous amount of food. So much so that my wife couldn't have a dessert which is unheard of. Can't wait to go back to try the pork belly dish on the great menu.

Hair in starter. Steak overcooked and sent with mushrooms although we stressed no mushrooms. Sizzling meal didn't arrive until everyone had finished I of them was nearly all onions Deserts were gloopy.
