Noble Rot Mayfair in City of London, Westminster

Atmosphere is definitely ok, staff is very friendly and accurate. The seabream is perfect but it’s a miracle why they put a big layer of crème fraiche underneath the fish. The eel with potato and caviar was without caviar and almost without eel. Two dissapointing dishes! The cheese as dessert was perfect. But we are not sure whether we will return. Maybe when they hire a better kitchen staff…🥴

This was a first visit to the Mayfair location, after having been to the one in Soho a few times. This is a newer venue and it does have more of an upmarket feel, although we did end up with a very small table which required a constant juggling around as plates of food arrived! The two of us ordered the breads, cheese gougeres, sea bream crudo, beef tartare, the cod, the hogget and a side of cabbage. For dessert we tried the chocolate tart and the millefeuille. The food was mostly very good and in line with prior experiences however the hogget was a disappointment, being more bone than meat and quite challenging to dissect. Also, while the desserts were enjoyable, I thought they could have upped their game a bit here. Service was very friendly and the meal progressed at a reasonable pace. The bill came to £180, of which £15 was spent on drinks. Overall a solid dinner albeit somehow missed the wow factor I’ve experienced in Soho, where I’ve had some excellent meals. Will probably stick to Soho or try out the original Lambs Conduit location on future visits…

Ho amato questo posto! Dopo una passeggiata in centro di sabato mattina, abbiamo deciso di provare il menù da due portate a 22£. Online non ho trovato disponibilità ma il personale è stato gentilissimo e ci ha fatto accomodare al bancone. Abbiamo optato per antipasto a base di topinambur(uno dei migliori mai provati) e bistecca. Tutto buonissimo, ottima anche la selezione di vini al calice, io ho preso un calice di “le Oche”. Excellent place for natural wine and atmosphere. The food and service were good and the menu was very complete with a large selection of wine. Staff was friendly and accomodating.

Loved the atmosphere of this restaurant, and unsurprisingly the wine list was fantastic. Our service was a bit spotty. When I asked for input on the menu our waiter said he had no idea because he hadn’t yet tried any of the dishes. We also went through a dry spell … we were drinking wines by the glass so that we could enjoy a few different ones and struggled to get our waiter’s attention when we wanted to order another glass (this happened more than once). The venison tartare with sun dried tomatoes was excellent, carlingford oysters were good, I then enjoyed the skate wing and my husband had the calves liver. Cheese plate was ok.

Wine recommendations were absolutely fantastic and the food was delicious!!!

Absolutely exceptional. The food was amazing, the service even better! I will definitely look to return in the near future.

Creative and delectable. Normal portion sizes. The service was attentive without being overbearing.

Had a wonderful lunch with calves liver and mash. The wine was off the charts as we followed Molly’s advice and tried a Santorini White…she was spot on, helpful and knowledgeable. Lilly was also great. The bill can be as big or small as you wish with a set menu and wine by the glass, or you can go mad. All in all a perfect lunch and will return.

Our second visit to Noble Rot in Mayfair, this time with a couple of friends. Duck agnolotti, venison tartare, hogget, and chocolate and brown butter tart were highlights, with good-natured service and great atmosphere, and a couple of very nice white and red Rhones. All in all a fantastic night.

The food was seriously good; only let down by the value for money for the whole duck between two. I suspect two standard mains would have been a better choice. It was still incredible. Service sensational and the extended wine list is well worth exploring and very reasonably priced.

Not as good as last time.Had starters and waitress asked me if I wanted to see the dessert menu.Last time spoke to sommelier who seemed interested not tonight. Didn't have dessert on menu .Overall won't be going back !spent nearly £200 but didn't feel special at all

I had the salt cod brandade for the mains and creme caramel for pudding. You would have to enjoy eating French food to enjoy the food here, and I don't. The cod was swimming in a milky jus, which made me nauseous. And the creme caramel felt like I'd been taken back to the 80s; it was such a boring dessert soaked in a horrid liquor-tasting sauce. I've rated this 3 stars because the cod was beautifully cooked but sadly ruined by the jus. The service was good, but that in itself is not reason enough for me to return.

Wonderful food, wine was incredible (as to be expected), and excellent service from Matt(?). Not normally a fan of Mayfair, but this was warm, welcoming and utterly charming.

Really superb wine list and lovely, friendly service. The atmosphere is also great, especially upstairs. My only gripe is that the menu is a little unusual and something of an acquired taste. However, won't stop me going back!

The service was faultless and the atmosphere was cosy but cheerful, all the staff were smiling and happy to accomodate us. The food itself was average. The olives tasted like they came from a jar or can, being overly salted, as if stored in a brine. The starters and mains were delicious. I had the quince tart which was very tough at the bottom and overly chewy. The accompanying ice cream was sublime and the choux bun is a highlight. The espresso shots at the end were VERY bitter and of low quality. Overall: Stellar main and starters but really need to improve some of their accompaniments and drinks.

Firstly, the good things: service was outstanding, timely and courteous. However, the veg that came with a very good Barnsley lamp chop was overly creamed and overpowering. The chesseboard crackers were either too salty or too sweet, I really would like to see restaurants at this level serve plain crackers to accentuate the natural flavour of the cheese. Finally, the table for two was too small to allow for two plates and two side orders, water and wine glasses. The wine was generally very good, but distinct lack of new world (fyi), however their 2012 Pinot Noir by the glass was slightly past its best in our view.

Service slow and unprofessional. White wine and no cooler offered. Portions small. But tasty. Overpriced. But this is Mayfair.

We really enjoyed our lunch here, the staff are so friendly and the tastes and flavours of the food were amazing My only issue is the food could have been hotter, the plates were not heated. The cheese plate was very special

Lunch set menu was fantastic value for money - I wasn’t planning on having dessert but the quality was too good to miss out! Wonderful wine list and interesting and excellent value wines available in 75ml tasters or 125ml glass.

Great atmosphere! Needless to say this is a must for wine lovers. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and the food was great! Highly recommended.

We had an excellent meal from start to finish in Noble Rot earlier this week. Barely a crumb was left on any plate, and excellent wines too of course. Attentive service and a cozy atmosphere.

Food took a long time but the food was good. Service staff is great. We went in early and managed to get a table without reservation. My boys and I agreed that we would be very happy to take two portions of oxtail tagliatelle for the two-course lunch set. The skate was ok but the sauce was very good. So, it went well. Parents took the whole fish and it was good too. Pasta was eaten before we got a picture!

Great wines and really enjoyable food. Started with oysters and chickpea panisse and smoked cod roe. The venison with green peppercorn sauce was delicious.

Tasty starter, the main course was ok. The sides never arrived. Service was friendly. The dessert wasn't fresh. The restaurant was empty but it was in the afternoon. Previously we had a great time and this is why returned. The kitchen definitely dropped the ball on this occasion.

The dining experience at this restaurant was exceptional. The food was truly sensational, complemented by an equally impressive wine selection. Not only that, the service was excellent, and the restaurant's ambiance added to the overall enjoyment of the meal.

We travel from New York to London often and make an effort to eat at Noble Rot whenever we can and have always had superb meals and wine and been treated with the utmost hospitality. We were looking forward to a comparable experience today at the much vaunted Mayfair location but were sorely disappointed. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and were told by the host to wait. After same time passed, he escorted us past a lovely, lively dining room with a few empty tables for two upstairs to an atmosphere-less empty dining room and told us we wouldn’t be alone for long. I said if felt like Siberia and he ignored me. A half hour passed while we listened to the lively atmosphere downstairs before another couple our age (mid 60’s) was escorted to a table in the corner opposite; and an hour passed before a party of four men were seated in the middle of the room. The common denominator between us all seemed to be non-regulars. The food and wine were excellent but the occasion was marred by the shabby treatment, lack of atmosphere, and apparent lack of interest in our business.

We had the most amazing night at Noble Rot Mayfair. From the beginning, the welcome was so relaxed and warm, I instantly liked the place. We enjoyed all of the courses and food was excellent but for us the stand out was the wine recommendations from Steph. She elevated the flavour combinations from excellent to sensational! I liked the loud hustle and bustle, it was a great atmosphere. We will certainly be back x

One of the best meals I’ve had in London. Fabulous food, extensive wine list, knowledgable and friendly service and not the same pretentious vibe you find elsewhere in Mayfair. Hard recommend

This is an extremely noisy restaurant. There is no joy in dining at a restaurant where everyone has to shout to be able to make a conversation with one’s guests. The food was reasonably good if one chose carefully from the menu. The waiter service was trying to be oh so cool, but the clients only want efficiency and politeness. It took over two hours for a three course dinner. None of those who were at the table will return.

I think food can be better, very limited options for vegetarian and even with fish. Some of the dishes extremely simple, like cheese platter doesn’t even has a jam and the crackers. Good wine list and great choices by glass. Service was pleasant and nice.

We had a birthday meal here and was really looking forward to it as I’ve never been but heard plenty of good things about it. First of all we had a very warm welcome and loved the atmosphere in the restaurant. I’m vegetarian and the only vegetarian option was ravioli with courgette- hereby I would like to note that its always slightly disappointing to receive the very simple dish which offers little surprise as opposed to the fish/meat options. For 28£ I would have expected a dish which would offer more of a sublime experience and doesnt resort to the usual solution of pasta with vegetable aa a vegeterian. As it is autumn season beginning, it would have been interesting to offer something that I cant just make at home, perhaps a special take on a locally grown pumpkin etc. My partner had a fish dish with a corn sauce which in opposition offered a beautiful surprise as we have not yet tried corn and fish but the sauce was very delicious. When the food arrived it was quite disappointing for both of us that it was luke warm / already cold in parts, which is truly something we didn’t expect from a restaurant in this category. When we asked our waiter who was otherwise given us good service that evening, we were told that it is the ‘busiest time of the evening’ almost as if it was not the right timing for us to request this. Our meals were taken back and heated up again which was great and otherwise we also received two madeleines as a complimentary birthday treat which I was very appreciative about.

Beautiful location and building but you pay for this. Food was fairly flavourless, service was okay but not better than that and the overall experience felt a bit disappointing.

Excellent dinner at Noble Rot. We had a table upstairs and the atmosphere was buzzy but intimate and perfect for a casual dinner with a couple of friends. I had the warm smoked eel with caviar and the stuffed squid and both dishes were delicious. Excellent Riesling too. Service was friendly and efficient. Already one of my favourite restaurants in London.

Wine and service both ridiculously good. The food menu is limited for vegetarians but what I had was delicious. Lovely cosy atmosphere and wonderful vibe.

Had a delicious dinner date there. The vegetarian Ravioli was good (and I am not veggie) and the wine very delicious. Price a bit steep, but that's London. The area is also very vital. Even though I feel sorry for them, the beggars were annoying.

Having been to all three Noble Rot venues something obviously brings me back. The bistro style menu always looks enticing but the individual dishes I have found to be variable in quality. Space is always confined but the seats here in Mayfair on the ‘terrace’,...

Much rowdier vibe compared to the Lambs Conduit location, aka the birthplace of my curiosity about wine. Apart from that, all is consistent: food, wine, and hospitality at their finest and most synergistic.

Have had this on my to visit list for a while. Three of us had the set lunch and it was excellent...couldn't fault it and great service...

Lovely night out for our anniversary but the restaurant is so noisy we couldn't hear each other talk! If you're not bothered by that the food is fabulous, the service is just lovely and the lighting and design is gorgeous. I have only dropped a star because of the noise levels. For that reason only I would go back to Noble Rot on Lamb Conduit Street rather than this one.

Absolutely fantastic! Wine list is a wine snob dream come true and I cannot wait to try them all 😻 I really enjoyed the place, loved the interior decoration. Staff is amazing and had created an incredible experience for mine and my friends birthday outing. Lastly, food. Freshly sourced and “lunch of the day” changes daily, giving an amazing and novel experience every time you’ll come around 😍😍😍 highly recommend!

Honestly, one of the nicest places for food and drink I visited in the decade or so. Traditional pub interior, top quality service and absolutely delicious food. Doesn't get much better!

Average food for an overpriced experience. Tables are very narrow. The strawberry dessert for 16 quids was embarrassing. At least I would expect nice looking strawberries. Service was fine.

We wanted to try this place for a while and got the chance when staying in Mayfair this last weekend . This is an old pub , converted to a restaurant/ bar and has great staff , a lovely menu and a fabulous wine list...

The food was decent, the wine excellent, the service friendly but slow. Unhelpful host refused to make allowance for the sudden rainstorm and insisted that we sit outside, as reserved, or in the very noisy, tight bar area because the inside dining was fully booked....

It is rare in London to have the opportunity to taste superb wines in such variety by the glass. The gentleman who served us was hugely knowledgeable and the food was impeccable, not just of good quality and well prepared but unusual in the way that things were paired. Salted gooseberry and oysters anyone? It worked.

Great recommendations from the staff. The Dover sole was ‘melt in your mouth’ good, especially with the rich crab butter. Definitely have it if you can.

A worthy successor to Le Boudin Blanc. This is the third Noble Rot to open and every bit as good as the original in Lamb’s Conduit Street though with an even better ambience. The pigeon with cauliflower mushroom was a masterpiece and the wine selection...

We tried the bottom end of the list as that is the best way to test a restaurant. The £22 (two course) set lunch looks great value, but the first course salad was tough and chewy. The main course - confit duck leg - was...

My husband & I had an excellent wedding anniversary lunch here - lovely cosy venue, terrific value set lunch which we supplemented with other bestseller dishes like from their ala carte menu. Great selection of wine accompaniment & most of all, excellent service all round from all members of staff, especially Emily who was serving our table. Highly recommended for any occasion anytime!

A true gastronomic excellence. Hospitality of the staff, complimentary champagne arrived minutes after we sat and that was amazing with the oysters. The smoked eel was very tasty and the braised turbot very tender. Everything seemed so simple yet so perfect. I loved it and I recommend it!

Food was very tasty, service was very friendly but leisurely (budget 1.5+ hours for lunch), and portions are on the smaller side for their prix fixe lunch menu (£22)
