Never in my life had such a amazing crispy and fresh fish and chips one of the best in Glasgow…

Great food. Didn't have fish & chips in a long time and it was incredible. I will repeat 100%. Ordered special and panko, both delicious.

Love this place. For all the reasons stated in the other good reviews. So far just had fish suppers, special (crumbed) and trad (battered) both wonderful. But their pizza crunch looks amazing and reading the mushy pea review makes me want to try them next. Portions are generous too (at least for us).

It's just like home. You can get 100% halal food which is a blessing for Muslims. Customer service is more than well done. They always provide fresh food for customers. I will recommend this

Everything is great, recently their fish have alot of bones. I personally took out about 30 bones. Hopefully they can fix this issue. Otherwise fantastic place and well loved.

We've had fish suppers through to rolls with chips here. The mushy peas tasted as if they had been made fresh just for us. The staff are very friendly and the owner was telling us how the fish is supplied daily from Aberdeen and that they change the oil daily... which is an interesting insight. We also were told deep-fried Mars bars are popular with our English friends. We took the food to the riverside today and previously we've eaten near the pond in the park.

Surprised to read of people having a mediocre or bad experience… has been my go to fish and chip shop for the past decade and I have to say not had any issues ever. Fish and chips are cooked to order..always fresh and piping hot. Friendly staff who don’t mind a bit of banter.

Very high quality, decent portion size and priced. I really enjoyed the deep fried mars bar as well. Only issue I can say is that they open a bit late.

The manager at Ramsay's chip shop is truly a kind and generous person. On a Saturday eid night even when I arrived just before closing, he insisted on giving me fish and chips for free. May Allah bless him and his family abundantly and grant baraqah in his shop and continued success. Ameen

Always a great hit, only been disappointed when they run out of rolls, not their fault, it means they are busy and doing something right. I don't eat fish but mum has never had a bad word to say about it. Bonus that all food is halal and the best fish and chips served in southside Glasgow.

Myself and my family wound up up here after some freewheeling suggestions from the wonderful Glasgow Muslim community who Id been corralling into divulging their favourite local delights. Mr S was a fantastic host and treated us far too well, the food is fun and different to what we're used to 'down south' in 'the North', the hospitality and extra special welcome we were given made it an all round unique experience. My salaam (regards) to all your staff and jazakallah khair (Thank you) for suggesting the Deep Fried Pizza Crunch, proper Glasgow that. We narrowly missed out on the Halal Haggis which I'd been dreaming of despite the locals' terrifying description of it's inner machinations

Staff seemed quite dismissive and more interested in chatting amongst themselves. Took a while for food to be ready. Shutter was brought down while still inside the shop. Food: 3/5 Time to wait: 2/5 Customer service: 1/5 Would not recommend.

Best meal iv had in a while, honestly been trynna cut back on unhealthy snacks and have something more organic and this was tasty and as far as I can tell healthy for me 👌 5 pound for a fish and chips that was more fulfilling then any kfc meal 🐼👍🌻

One of the only places I can get fish and chips because it's Halal, and it's wonderful! The staff are phenomenal and there's even a veggie burger, as well as veggie haggis and black pudding for your vegetarian friends. Great place for easy takeaway!

Place has went downhill after new management unfortunately, prices also rises and asked for extra salt and vinegar and got little to none. Not the best value for money which is very sad as this used to be very good.

We ordered 3 fish suppers with curry sauce. Was still piping hot by the time we got home. Absolutely loved it. Will definitely be returning again. The staff were so nice and friendly. Keep up the great work and thank you for a great service!!!!

fantastic fresh fried fish and chips. always worth the wait. i usually go for one battered and one special (breaded) fish, peas and a small portion of chips. dont forget the tomato sauce, has to be heinz I'm salivating as i type. love the fact that you get called by your name when food is ready to collect. personal service is outstanding. 5*

Underated gem of a chippie. Everything halal which serves a lot of the local community. Most importantly chips are usually fresh and lovely. Fish isn't the biggest, but neither are their prices. Probably my favourite underrated chippie.

Absolutely best chips in Glasgow!

Discovered this place yesterday for the first time dispite it being situated in Victoria Road which I travel almost every other day. Bought two big fish suppers. The fish was delicious and there was plenty of chips in each parcel. Met the owner Zain and his friendly staff Saf, Nazreen and Alice. All very friendly people and I had to wait 5minites or so as they had prepared my fish fresh on the spot. There I stood chatting to them about this and that and we had a laugh. Was great to get such good welcoming service and the price was very reasonable too. I will definately be back as there aren't any other halal fish shops in Glasgow and therefor have been avoiding eating fish for so long. They are close to the entrance to Queen Victoria Park at the top of Victoria Road and that is nice to know especially in summer when an impromptu picnic in the park is a must. 5stars for the service nevermind the food being equally great.

Visited this chippy for the first time today. Bought their two piece fish supper for £8.10. I have to agree with another reviewer that their chips portion is very small compared to other chip shops. This is the reason I reduced a star from the review as they haven't still learnt from a previous review in spite of commenting on it. I hope I see a change from the management rather than a comment from the owner for the customer to ask for more chips next time! Fish is similar to many other chip shops in Glasgow, good that it's made fresh. Only issue that is common amongst the fish n chips shops up in Scotland is that they only have butterflied haddock. This tends to make it more batter less fish when fried. Down South almost all chippies have a nice chunky cod as the default fish choice which to me tends to be better than haddock. Update 09/01/2022 after owner's comment: My feedback still stands and it is contructive criticism, which as an owner should be taken on board in order to improve. We have a recent reviewer also commenting on the chips portion size being too small, and I am a normal portion size eater. Have had several fish n chips over my life where I have been unable to finish my chips in most of the places, me being a lesser eater; however this was not the case at your place.(Your chips were very good BTW as chips should normally be). And to be fair how many people would one ever find complaining about chip portion sizes? I cannot see that anywhere in any review for your chippie, in fact if portion sizes are generous that will be added as a compliment but never a complaint! Please don't get me wrong, but my review is fair and balanced and there was no need for you to feel bad about it. As a person who has worked for many corporations, constructive feedback is part of our culture, which only helps us to learn and improve. Instead of getting upset one needs to strive to improve upon receiving constructive criticism - hope this helps you in the future! Thanks!

Great haggis, but the chips weren't the best

Went at 5.15. Got the special fish supper. Waited 10min. Came out piping hot luvly. One star off because for £8.40 I expected more chips. 😋

A few days ago a work colleague and myself were driving Rangers FC fans to Hampden Park in the coaches and fancied a bite to eat. We found Ramsays and were greeted by friendly staff with a smile. The Haggis supper and single sausage (I was hungry!) went down a treat, the chips were properly good and were perfectly cooked. It wasn't greasy like so many others. Best Chippy I have been to in a long time, caught my friend and I off guard! Special little Chip shop, I insist you check it out if you're in the area.

I've been coming to Ramsay's for a fresh fish supper for a few years now. I live in Manchester now but occasionally come to see family in Scotland. Every time I come to Glasgow I have to come here. Fresh oil on a daily basis fresh Scottish haddock. The best potatoes money can buy. What a great combo. The staff are friendly and helpful to your requirements. Definitely a great chippy.

Best chippy out, always buy my fish suppers here for the last ten years as I travel 20 miles from were I stay to get them and never disappointed. Staff are welcoming and a simple menu to choose from a traditional chip shop.

Best place to go from fish and chips to pizza or fritter the food is number one always hot and freshly made wouldn't go anywhere else. They take cash and card.

Went to Glasgow to pick up a car, and was looking for a halal place to eat, done a Google search and this popped up. Staff were welcoming and had the food done quick and nice. Would definitely recommend you head down!!

Terrible service and greasy food. So normally I go here every so often Because it is very greasy and it’s not the best fish and chips in the world but tonight I did what I normally do and rang up to make an order for collection. Anyway when I got there I join the queue but I rang them to ask what I should do because obviously I’d already ordered and I was in a rush hence why I ordered over the phone so the man on the phone told me to wait by the window 30 minutes after ordering on the phone and it must’ve been outside the shop for 15 mins and then another guy popped his head round the corner of the window and tells me I have to join the queue 🤨 The whole point of ordering over the phone is that you can get it when you get there not join the queue otherwise there’s no point whatsoever. Plus the fact that one guy was telling me one thing and then when I got there the other guy told me another. honestly the worst service I’ve ever had a fish and chip shop and quite frankly I’m not waiting around for just about edible fish and chips. luckily though I found marinas Round the corner which after having their fish and chips he’s finally a fish and chip shop worth going to but yeah absolutely not a chance in hell I’m ever going back to Ramsey’s. If I could give them -5 stars I would without a doubt. Save your money 👌🏻
