Raymie's Seafood Bar and Grill in Newry and Mourne

Came here with my girlfriend as we were passing through Warrenpoint and what a find this place was. We both ordered the scallop and brown shrimp to Stewart and we went for the monkfish and sea bass for mains. Food is exquisite! Best meal I’ve had for as long as I can remember, staff are attentive and quirky relaxed surroundings. Will most definitely be returning here in the near future.

Fabulous food, so much flavour and the service was 10/10.

Very nice restaurant. Excellent staff. The let down was the seafood. I had mussels, but they were the smallest mussels I have ever had they were the size of raisins. I did point this out to the waiter. The fish main course was spoilt by the sauce which masked the taste of the fish. Otherwise it was good ambience, very nice waiting staff.

Another incredible meal in this gem of a restaurant. Should be Michelin recommended. 10/10 for food service and ambiance. Thank you to all at Raymies

Had my surprise birthday party here and it was nothing short of fabulous. From the superb quality of food to the attentive, pleasant staff.

We had our wedding reception here and we cannot help enough praise on Neal, chef Muhammad and the entire cooking and service staff. The food is exceptional; from the canapés to the courses, the Irish coffees and cocktails. This restaurant is a jewel in the Irish Crown of hospitality. Neal looked after us so well, and removed any pressure on us. We have eaten here dozens of times and every experience has been one of pure joy. Our guests were blown away! For those to whom this was their first experience, allhave said they can't wait to be back. Thank you Neal, Muhammad and every one. You made our wedding day an amazing experience. Thank you Michael and Richard.

We were up in Warrenpoint visiting Fort Evergreen and just googled places near me to eat and Raymies was the 1st in the list. My children can be quite picky eaters and had asked for a combination of foods off the menu that weren’t actually a dish which was absolutely no t problem. The fish was beautiful and fresh. The staff were lovely. The only complaint that we had was my started didn’t come out the same time as my husband and had to remind staff, but when it came out it was absolutely delicious. Definitely one of the best meals out we’ve had in a long time.

Raymie's is a locally beloved restaurant on Duke Street in Warrenpoint. This is with good reason as the food is up to a very high standard and the menu has enough choice to keep most customers very happy. There are no vegan options on the menu but when we asked our servers they provided the vegan and vegetarian dishes for that day. I had the mushroom risotto which was absolutely delicious. It had a combination of multiple type of mushrooms from Oyster to Shimeji which gave a rich flavour. They opted to avoid the creamy flavour and focus on the veg which I think worked really well. As much as I loved this dish it is a shame to see no vegan starters/desserts and would love to see other mains on offer for vegan/vegetarian visitors. Overall I really enjoyed this meal but would be excited to see what further options may become available in the future. I am giving 4 stars in this review but this only reflects the lack of choice rather than the 5 star experience we had. I would definitely recommend visiting Raymie's 😁

Simply outstanding. Have called into this restaurant before many times and never have been disappointed. This time was no different. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon and after a very professional warm friendly welcome shown to our table. Drinks were served as the very well informed waitress explained the menu offerings. My wife dad the chilli prawn and scallops while I decided to have the BBQ sticky chicken wings. Each dish arrived excellently presented and were both full of flavour. Our main course followed with the Turkey and Ham and the Crusty herb topped Cod. The flavours were exceptional served with market fresh vegetables and potatoes. At all times the staff were super attentive. My decided to close with a White chocolate roulade and an Irish coffee. From start to finish it was a truly beautiful experience. Will return very soon.

I have called in with my husband and grown up daughter after our hike in Rosstrevor. We were given a table and the service was great. My problem is quality vs price. I adore seafood and was so excited to try dishes from the menu. But when you are spending £32-£35 for the main course, it has to be incredible ! Unfortunately it was not the case. My husband had a vegetarian dish and it was mediocre which is ok when you are in a seafood restaurant . My daughter and I were really disappointed with our food. The sauce might be the problem , I don’t know but I was struggling to taste anything as the rich creamy sauce was so overpowering. My daughter had exactly the same problem . Once again, I do want to reiterate - service was great , but I feel robbed and disappointed that the food was so poor. Unfortunately we will never be back and we will never recommend this place either.

The freshest sea food I've ever eaten at reasonable prices and amazing service. This restaurant is the holy trinity, fresh quality sea food, talented chefs, and excellent attentive table service. I recommend this to all who enjoy delicious sea food and wonderful service.

It's the chic restaurant on the corner it seems. People come well dressed, the dishes are beautiful and indeed, it's quite refined. But it's a bit expensive nonetheless. The value for money could be better: the bread arrives buttered to spread quite fatty dips, the seafood chowder is also a little too fatty and the cooked salmon was not incredible. On the other hand, the raw fish starter was exceptional. You should know that it is quite noisy between the discussions and the music.

Good food well presented. Staff young and a bit unprepared. I would go back!

The best seafood I’ve had in a very long time! This place went above and beyond my expectations. raymies was recommended to us by a local, and it was so good I’d make the trip back to warrenpoint just to visit the restaurant again. The owner, Noel was so welcoming and friendly. Fantastic fresh seafood. Warm, fresh bread arrived at the table soon after we ordered. The sea bass was delicious and the crab claws were bursting with flavour. Definitely will be back here.

I was second time there. No happy with the food. My monkfish was three quarter bones not meat. I almost didn't taste the fish. Risotto was too mashy and tasteless and not warm enough. Much too expensive for what is served. Generally very disappointed this time.

Let’s clear it up first off. If my wife was writing this review it would be 5 stars. She had the salt & chilli chicken starter and the pad Thai chicken main. I knew I ordered the wrong main when I tasted hers. Her starter and main were ace. We did both agree that we wouldn’t go for this dessert choice again (one between two) but that’s our taste. I knocked one star off for the chowder and the seafood rigatoni as the depth of flavour in each should have been better. Concentrate stocks more, especially fish, and add celery to the fish stock preparation and don’t be afraid to season food well. I’m being picky here really, picky but when it’s this good then I think they should go the extra mile and nail it completely. The coffees are darn good too. It’s a cosy place and hasn’t much changed from our memory since it was owned by, I think Mark, but that’s long ago. All the serving staff were really attentive to the diners including us. It’s really worth supporting and as it’s tough times use it or lose it.

Sorry guys. When you pay £40 for a special (Surf and Turf) you expect at least something special. Both my medium rare ribeye and the half lobster were tough. The house chimichurri on the lobster was not nice. It most certainly wasn’t nice with the pepper sauce. The elements of the dish just didn’t marry well and was way below par. My wife gladly enjoyed her 12 ounce. Chips were nice as was the garlic potatoes. I just couldn’t justify paying £30-£40 plus per main for a meal like that again. Will skip next time I’m in town. Shame.

We have called here whenever we are back in ireland 2 r 3 times a year food was just ok service was good irish coffee i dont know what whiskey they used not irish, i think we will be slipping on past next time to Newcastle

Another fabulous meal in Raymie's. Lovely bread and 2 pesto starter (on the house), followed by sirloin, accompanied with beef spring roll, and hake, crab and prawns wrapped in Parma ham. Delightful and delicious. Compliments to chefs and floor staff.

Was at a party here. On the ground floor, there was a large crowd of us and the staff handled it great. Fillet Steak was nice but wasn't a fan of the creamy garlic potatoes. The drink in the photo is a long island it was great too.

Ate here last night before going to a gig. Absolutely outstanding food. The duck was to die for, such flavour from all the different sauces on the plate. Wine reasonably priced. And even though we were a big group, there was no one rushing us to leave the table. Will definitely be back.

I visited the restaurant tonight with my husband. I made the reservation a week or so ago. Seeing as we weren’t a walk in I would have liked a better table. We were seated at a small table next to the bar. Staff constantly rushed by us throughout the meal. We felt like we were in the way. It really shouldn’t be a table that’s given to customers. I spent my meal watching at times 7 young staff members standing round the bar talking. I wasn’t particularly fond of my starter. I had the prawns and crab claws but they were in a tomato stew/sauce which wasn’t made clear on the menu. The crab claws were submerged in the sauce so I had to fish the claws out of hot sauce with my fingers. I told the waitress I wasn’t fond of it when she cleared our plates. The rest of the food was ok. There were too many things on the plate complicating the dishes so you couldn’t properly taste the main ingredient. I ordered a portion of onion rings which had soft batter instead of crisp which I would have expected. Despite the huge number of staff congregating around the bar our drink order was forgotten about. It was such a disappointing experience which is such a shame as I’ve eaten here before and enjoyed it. Tonight was not good.

Food/recipe/cooking quality dropped a lot here, alas. We were regulars, but no longer interested.

The food was amazing the interior was decorated with impeccable taste. The young ladies serving where so lovely. They where trying their best. Only thing I didn't like was hearing management snap at them for standing around,they are young the are learning the restaurant was not full so the couldn't really do anything. I feel that good management leads to happier motivated staff it was the only disappointment personally for me.

Called today Sunday 2nd 3. 20 was seated told by girl will bring jug of water for table 20 minutes later no water couple came in 10 minutes after us seated straight away water supplied to their table and their order taken right away we got up and walked out a foreign gentle man said oh what's wrong we just told him we had no service he said oh sorry about that

It’s not often I find it difficult to choose from a set menu, as they are usually of very limited choice (which to be honest, I don’t mind as it usually represents better value for money and the produce is more likely to be fresh)...

Booked an early dinner with my family. The food was absolutely unbelievable!! One of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time! Seafood was divine. Our starters was beautiful however main courses was disgusting 12oz Sirloin ( medium rare) at best it was 7 oz how do you cemented a medium rare steak 🤔🤔 it was burnt !!! & full of fat in the middle of the steak which is highly unlikely as sirloin fat is on the outer edges not the middle of the steak next was pepper sauce was disgusting 🤮🤮🤮 second main course was today special brill prawns & mussels just a joke of a meal just disgusting just enough pain for one evening to add Further insult to the evening Siobhan never ask did you enjoy your meal when paying the bill service was non existent so disappointed

Fantastic food & excellent service

Myself and my visted here for Sunday Lunch. What a surprise we got. My husband had the crispy wings and roast beef for main. I had the seafood chowder it was amazing best ever. And for main i got the carbonara and it was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our waiter was called Siobhon. She was amazing and friendly. I realy enjoyed the background music it was perfect. The deco was realy nice too. We will definitely be back

Always great here and great decor and today my wife and I enjoyed a fantastic evening dinner that surpassed most of our best cuisine experiences in recent years. Had Sunday lunch here this week in a party of 4 adults and 4 children (teenagers). The restaurant is tastefully decorated and we were welcomed by lovely friendly staff. There was a set menu, 2 courses for £20 which was very reasonable considering the size of the portions and the excellent quality of produce. I had the calamari to start which was fresh and beautifully presented with fabulous little sauces and salad dotted around the plate. Three of our party had this and we were blown away by the dish. One of my friends had the spring rolls and she said they were delicious. My son had chicken wings to start and I got to steal one from his plate to taste it…really rich sauce that was finger-lickin’ good. For the main course we went for the daily special…Dover sole with a veloute of prawn and mussel…very generous portion, the prawns were huge and cooked to perfection, served with samphire, long stem broccoli and a side of your choice (we had garlic sauteed potato. All mentioned were really tasty and cooked beautifully, but of course the star of the show was the sole…wow! Just amazing! We had a glass of the house sav blanc to wash it all down (very nice also). My husband had 2 pints of Guinness which were really good…very creamy. We’re not big on desert so we left it at that, but cannot recommend this place enough…incredible food, lovely staff and overall a great experience! Thanks to all who run it and well done…such a pity I live so far away or I’d be in there all the time.
