Nice spot for fish and chips, we had the sharing platter and really enjoyed it. Batter on the fish was crisp and the chips were tasty, we even loved the mushy peas Thought the price for the food, cocktails and dessert was very reasonable.

Such a wonderful restaurant. Literally THE best fish and chips I have ever tasted. Service was impeccable, food was delivered quickly and it was so delicious. Definitely 10/10. Ordered the Haddock and a basket of calamari. Seasoning, texture and taste are all in point. Atmosphere is relaxing and puts you in a good mood. Tartare sauce is an absolute banger. Would travel to Brighton just for this meal again. You definitely won’t regret eating here. Chef and the staff deserve a forehead kiss and a raise.

I had the small haddock fish supper with curry sauce as a takeaway and it was delicious! I thought it was reasonably priced and even though I got the small portion it was more than enough food to keep me and a local seagull happy. Chips - perfectly cooked with soft fluffy insides and little crispy outsides. Haddock - the fish was flakey yet moist and had the fresh haddocky flavour you want from this white fish. The batter was great! Light and crispy and not oily. Tartare sauce - great! Perfect consistency and loads of flavour. Curry sauce - exactly what you want and expect from a chip shop curry sauce my only note would be that I wanted more of it, but that's on me being greedy and nothing to do with the actually decent portion size.

I like fish and chips, but I don't know much about it, but this is my first time wanting to go again, so I think this place is the best. Especially Two pieces of lemon and pickled eggs were nice and the staffs were nice as well. I’d definitely have visited again if the train was later than midday.

I'm a long term fish and chips sceptic but also a glutton for punishment so will always try out fish and chips places that people recommend in the hopes of having that satisfying experience. However I usually end up disappointed when inevitably presented with undercooked chips and tasteless fish. Not the case at the wonderfully named RYBKA. It's a little twist in the traditional fish and chips but everything here is cooked with evident attention. Chips wonderfully crisp yet still fluffy inside. Fish was also great and even got a handful of scampi as part of the platter. Texture of the batter could have been a bit better for me, while tidy it could have done with that wonderful airy bubble that you get with the best friend fish. The mushy peas could also have been made a bit tastier, as the flavour lacked a little depth which would have rounded out the whole dish. Still everything felt decent value for £16 in Brighton. Recommended.

I'm not a fish and chips fan but it tasted good and my husband said it was very good. My only reservation is how terribly oily the children's fish fingers were, oil was dripping like water when we lifted one of the fish fingers.

I ordered the fish dinner for one today and followed the suggestions of Ellie, my charming server. I had the titular special, which was a treat, because I haven't had good pickled herring since childhood. I'm looking forward to my next visit from London to enjoy this again. I'll be sure to bring lots of friends next time. I've never had better or fresher fish and chips. Thank you, Ellie!!

On the pricier side for fish and chips, but well worth it. Chunky crispy chips, rich mushy peas and perfectly cooked fish. Would recommend a lunch visit. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, giving recommendations to explore the rest of the south coast.

This is the real deal for fish and chips seekers. Set in the most beautiful and romatic lane in Brighton.

I had a Pod Thai and Tom Yum soup. The portion was small for the price. Also, the portion looked different from my friends who ordered the same dish. When we wanted to split the bills, the waiter forced us to transfer money between us instead of paying individually at the restaurant.

Great food, nice flaky fish with crispy batter. Crispy fat chips. The oil used was clean. The owner was there and was a great fun and chatty guy. Very nice people. I had a problem with my drink that was my fault and the owner kindly replaced it with another option and removed the first drink from the bill, when I was happy to pay for my error. Very nice of him, that is how I would do it too. Top class customer experience. Was a bit hard to find, Google maps gave us the run around lol. Would definitely recommend and go back next time I am in town. Service is not included so I made sure to leave both members of staff a nice folding tip - I really appreciate places like this.

Came here with high expectations and we were not disappointed. We dined in and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food however is OUTSTANDING. The portions were large. The mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce were delicious with the chips being both crispy and fluffy. The king on the plate was the fish. The cod was beautifully cooked, moist and creamy. The batter is so crisp and light with not a hint of oil or grease. Arguably the BEST fish and chips I have ever had.

The fish here is outstandingly good, perfectly cooked fish and light crispy batter. The fish isn't over done, fresh oil is clearly use and just enough to fry the fish. I would suggest this is fish that is loving fried for each customer and that fish is respected in this sweet little restaurant. The chips were not absolutely lovely but not to my taste. I felt this was an area the restaurant could improve. I was looking for a chip shop chip and steak cut chips for me don't belong with fish unless you are eating them in a pub fish and chips. However, they were wonderfully crisp. The atmosphere was quirky and youthful. A lovely cross between a takeaway and a restaurant without the dining area feeling cheap. Music was young and played at a good level to hear it but also it was quiet enough to hear a conversation.

Partner and I ordered the sharing plate. Food very slow to come out, considering we were the only patrons at the time, even allowing for cooked from scratch. Fish was excellent, almost worth the wait, but small portion of chips and over-crumbed scampi let down the meal.

Great location in the middle of the Lanes. Perfect fish and chips. Would recommend to families or groups of friends or couples. Great staff, music, good beers - and fantastic vodkas too. The boss was even kind enough to escort us to the Secret Comedy Club round the corner at the end of our meal. Thank you!

Quite simply the best fish and chips we have had in years. Cod was lovely and light, not at all greasy and the crispiest batter I can recall. The chips were out of this world, crispy, fluffy and not a trace of grease in sight. Kids had the fish fingers and I had food envy when they came - a gem of a place and so quaint and cosy. We were made to feel like we were the only diners and we couldn't be more impressed or satisfied. A must try for fish and chips when in Brighton.

Excellent fish and chips. We had the fish supper for two which was very good quality, fresh and value for money. The platter also came with curry sauce, mushy peas and tartare sauce. Well recommended especially accompanied with a glass of white wine, we will return at some point despite being over 200 miles away

Was craving for a good fish & chips meal given the cold and wet weather on that day. After checking out a few potential places; decided to put all my bets at this place given the rave review. The food definitely did not dissappoint. The fish was fried perfectly, and fries too. Decided to also order the house curry sauce to try out. The place is hidden away from the main road, and you need to walk thru an alley to reach it. Google Map will definitely help.

The food was first rate, fresh haddock, big crisp chips, mushy peas and beer, lovely. The owner was very friendly and chatty we will definitely go back next time we're in Brighton.

The food was pretty good, and the staff were friendly, but it took about half an hour to get food (we heard others get warned about a wait for food after, but we didn't get this warning), and people who arrived after us had their order taken and food served before us, and we had to shout someone down in order to place an order, but the place didn't appear to be that busy. So there are a few things the staff could be mindful of around service in the future.

Popped in for a takeaway meal and was surprised by the level of service, they did a custom order for me due to having certain restrictions. Ordered fish and chips with a side of scampi, this was the best fish and chips I've had in years and can't emphasize that enough. I can't wait to go back there, unfortunately I don't live in Brighton and only visit maybe twice a year, otherwise I'd be eating here weekly. Thank you guys for a wonderful meal.

The decor inside is very cool, but I’m taking points off for the bathroom. They were so so dirty. One of those bathrooms where you try not to touch anything. That being said the service was very nice and the food was ok/good. I found that my haddock was a bit dry and fatty.
