Sea View Tea Rooms in Gwynedd

The food is excellent, Very good quality and great value. The lady who owns it is always bubbly and on hand and Greats you with a smile as do all the staff. The view is lovely over the bay looking out to the estuary! It is dog friendly and cosy. One thing I would state is if you’re on the tables outside and someone visits with a big dog can be a little tight, but I would eat there again many times and highly recommend.

👏 used BYG sea view for a good few years now whilst in the area, absolutely love the place, everything is always spot on, to the point that during our holiday last week we might have been present as much as the staff (we visited a lot) as we know a warm welcome and the best food/drink offers available in N/Wales. We've had breakfast/brunch/elevenses/lunch/snacks/tea/dinner and supper here from one point to another and can honestly say never disappointed. Can't wait to come again.

Visited here on 12th October. Food was fab and the cakes were delicious, especially the honey but one. Staff were friendly and the cafe has been nicely fitted out. Beautiful view over the harbour as well.

Stopped in for breakfast a couple of times whilst staying in Borth y Gest with a group of friends. Great service, all the staff were very helpful Breakfast menu is great. Fresh Ingredients well cooked. Good blend of coffee used and dog friendly.

This is a very good ‘bistro’, certainly well above the Porthmadog average. It’s a shame that they have withdrawn the seafood chowder but otherwise the menu choice is good. The staff are very pleasant. Perhaps they should clamp down on the presence of dogs in the eating areas, which ruin the atmosphere and bring hygiene into question.

We stopped here for lunch whilst walking along the coastal path, service was great and the food was lovely. It's in a great spot overlooking the harbour too.

Arrived after a walk. Place was busy (but still not busy enough for people to have no manners!) so we were unsure if we would get a table, would have been prepared to wait. However, the lady who I presume is the manager disregarded us completely, told her junior member of staff to let us know “no space”, despite being stood right in front of us, didn’t even acknowledge us. There was a table with no reserved sign on in the window, which a couple then came in and took! So clearly there was space. Unwelcoming, and definitely will not be going back again. We then had to walk all the way back to Porthmadog for lunch, where we had a fantastic meal - highly recommend the big rock cafe over this place! Change your attitude!!

We’ve been here a few times I’ve always found the lady who I assume runs the place quite rude and not very welcoming at all. She always seems very busy as it’s a busy restaurant however, being front of house a smile and a nice welcoming wouldn’t go a miss! Opening times need updating

Went on 19th August, five of us. It was a bit cold and windy after storm Betty so we sat inside. The staff were brilliant, sorted us a table for five and couldnt have been more helpful. we ordered meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes and every one was delicious. The portions were huge. Three of us had the seafood pasta and I can say the it was well recieved by all. First time in Borth Y Gest but it wont be the last. Welsh hospitality at its best, great food, great staff, great atmosphere and even a great view out of the window, Thanks guys.

Celebrated a special birthday at Sea View, and made to feel special also. Freshly served delicious meal looking out at probably one of the best views ever. Service attentive and professional. The atmosphere created in this family run restaurant is in keeping with the beach summer vibes casual dining with really good quality food. Choice of indoor or terraced seating outside an ideal spot for friends and family (and well behaved 4 legged friends) to relax and enjoy.

Great food and friendly service in a stunning location - this was a perfect location and restaurant to take our family of 3 and dog. Fed up of nothing but stodge on every menu we’d seen in our week away in North Wales, finally found somewhere that has great choice, friendly staff and perfectly cooked vegetables. The beef was so tender it just fell apart. Can’t wait to return. Thank you

Definitely worth a visit. The view sat outside was beautiful. We just had tea and then wine so can’t comment on food but food looked really good too. Service was good too.

We visited on a damp, cold day but received a very warm welcome. At first view the prices are a little higher than town places but this is off the beaten track and omg the food was exceptional. I have to say my wife and I are very fussy about our food and where we eat it. No problem here! I had a ploughman’s sandwich and it was truly the best I’ve had anywhere. The ham they serve is amazing, both in flavour and quantity and all the ingredients are fresh and full of flavour! The bread was so fresh and tasty. My wifes sandwich was equally as delicious. A really good latte and a beer for me were both excellent quality and very much enjoyed. The staff were friendly, polite and very good at their jobs. Well done all, Very impressed!

My family and I visited this establishment whilst on holiday in nearby Porthmadoc and were blown away by it. The food was hot, well cooked and ample enough to satisfy the most demanding of appetites. Everything is freshly cooked so a slight wait is to be expected but the quality of the food more than makes up for any delay.The staff are polite, friendly and helpful providing a warm, genuine welcome and prompt efficient service.Now to the view...The Sea View is exactly that, it looks out onto the beach and wonderful mountains of North Wales, sounds like heaven? It is, but dont take my word for it, go and visit.Ps they even accept very well behaved pooches, if not there is ample seating outside.

Called hear intending just to have coffee and cake, but menu for lunch was too tempting. Two of us had a lovely home made stew with crispy bread which was very tasty. The other two had panninis which had delicious fillings.The coffees were good, the view gorgeous and staff very friendly. Decided to drive over for a coffee by the sea First time here since it changed hands, I bought two latties to go they were very weak, very dissapointing as the coffee used to be lovely.

We went to Sea View for lunch having read positive reviews. We were given a warm welcome and told we could sit by the window (even though there were only 2 of us and it was a table for 4). I had a lovely Pumpkin Spiced Latte. For food we ordered Pulled Pork Burger and Seafood Chowder. My husband's Seafood Chowder was a very large dish and was delicious (as I got to try a little), there were some bones but this can happen with fish. My Pulled Pork Burger was not so much a burger as Pulled Pork in a sauce in a bun, it was very good, as were the chips. They serve Stokes Sauces, which are excellent and a big plus point for us. All in all, good food and friendly service. We would return.

Ate breakfast here this morning. Walked in seemed friendly sat down and asked to order right away. Ordered avocado and bacon toast husband had creal breakfast. I had a milkshake husband had coffee. Waitresses running back and forth over the road with plates coming back with drinks of j2o bottles then we saw our food being carried from over the road so when it arrived it was cold. Ate a bit but wasn't impressed staff didn't seem to care about new comers just bubbly for regulars. Won't be back

Visited for lunch today after reading the recommendations on TripAdvisor and happy to say we were not disappointed.I had the chowder and hot chocolate and both were served hot. The chowder was tasty and full of fish and served with warm ciabatta and croutons My husband had a panini which came with crisps and size salad.The service was excellent and the staff were helpful and friendly.My only regret was we were too full to try a slice of cake from an excellent selection available.

We had a very tasty lunch at Seaview but we pleased that our dog could come inside with us we find there are not enough eating places that will accept dogs they must be missing out on trade.

Warm, friendly staff in this small waterside location, serving lovely food and drinks. The breakfast menu is particularly good but, if you want to eat later in the day, please be aware that they generally close at 5, though may stay open a bit later in the holiday season if the weather is fine. I am not an ice cream eater but I believe it’s very good here!

The first visit we made to Sea View was pleasant enjoying coffee and cake looking at the nice view, chatting to the staff. Second visit couldn't have been more different, we were 'greeted' (I use that term lightly) by the older member of staff that it seems nobody is allowed to criticize on here (perhaps she IS the owner) and the whole experience was awful and I couldn't wait to leave.

Went here for lunch during our holiday. It was fine but thought the food was a bit overpriced for the quality. Family lunch came to nearly £50 which is quite steep for some sandwiches. It’s dog friendly which is nice. Probably wouldn’t return for cooked food, but would definitely go back for an ice cream which was extremely nice.

Lunchtime visit, had chicken goujons with garlic mayonnaise followed by the most amazing Jaffa cake ice cream - highly recommend

I was recommended sea view from back in Wolverhampton. We were welcomed by the friendly Katie and were served our take away drinks and food speedily. The sausage and egg sandwich was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. A wonderful place, I would recommend it to anyone visiting the wonderful beaches there.

Having walked along the beach we reached Ysgol borth-y-gest and had lunch at this lovely cafe over-looking the bay. Beautiful location equalled only by a really excellent lunch. Fresh salads with olives, mixed smoked fish with prawns, balsamic and ciabatta bread. Oh and a really excellent dry 6% cider. Taffy Apples. Enjoy. #tayloredbyus
