service was absolutely fantastic, food was. delicious, the ginger longer haired man the lovely lady with long curly blonde / brunette hair and the fantastic hostess were sweet beyond belief. Any and all requests catered too, including birthday wishes and dessert too. Food was delicious too, drinks are fabulous as well. Genuinely will 100% be coming back!!

Beautiful food.! A bit on the expensive side but well worth it as a once in a while treat. Couldn't fault anything.

4 Apr. The steaks are "Bloody marvellous" with a variety of sauces and a decent choice of side dishes. We ordered 2, 8oz sirloins.🥩 One on the block the other cooked to perfection by the chefs. All washed down with a nice red wine.🍷 It was all very very nice. For a pudding we shared a sticky toffee with ice cream.🍦 Typically, the food is so good the pictures are after we started eating 😋 If it's been ageing for 35 days its got to get scoffed ASAP. 😋😋😋

Came here before watching a show at the opera house and enjoyed! We had the pre theater menu and a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced and very tasty. I'm not a huge steak person, but for being a steak restaurant and neither my partner or I getting a steak I was very happy with our food! I thought the chicken supreme was very delicious and am looking forward to coming here again.

Wow fab steak so soft and juicy 😍

This was great from start to finish. We had the 12 Oz sirloin and the 8 Oz rump steak which came out on a hot stone which allowed us to cook them perfectly to our liking. The pepper sauce was one of the best I have had, a great mixture of spicy and rich. We had the skin on fries as sides and also the surf and turf and the portion sizes were generous. You could share fries if you weren't very hungry. Even the desserts were delicious and great portion sizes. The French Martina was also delicious. The sticky toffee pudding came in a lake of warm caramel sauce. It's rare you can go to a restaurant and have everything hit high notes. The atmosphere was great as well, the restaurant comfortably warm and the service efficient. I will definitely be back here again.

Added a bottle of wine and a few shorts onto our bill. After us challenging the bill, they took of those items and have us a free drink. Not impressed

The owner manager never responded back to me nor did he send me any details to return and enjoy the meal at its best so sadly this review stands . I booked it as it looked like it was award winning and look delicious. Wellllll. OK firstly went to the bar at the entrance to get a drink waiting a good 10 mins while the bar man was looking at me and doing tricks with bottlecaps and taking orders across the bar from tables and ignoring people right in front of him . Eventually after calling him and getting my drinks order then the table was ready . Now I do have to say My steak was spot on a fillet but my partners sirloin was full of sinew and grisle and was barely edible and wasn't medium rare . The plates kind of over took the tables huge massive plates made the portions look tiny and there was no room for them even tho it was only two of us I expected a lot more from them. The pepper sauce was amazing . We then ordered dessert from a waiter and waited around for 15 mins and then where told he had walked out of his shift so by that time we where Done with the place and we also left with no dessert as we where done waiting . All the staff seemed to be Congregating at the end of the bar swamping the bottle cap tricks bar man with drinks orders. I expected a higher quality from the place. And to be honest the menu was very linguisticly flamboyant loads of words and not much appeal . Nothing on the menu invoked in me anything that said ohh that sounds nice it was over worded and messy to read simple and sounding delicious is what it should be not a steak worded to be from a 19th century Egyptian chef .disappointed for sure but even more so when he did call me and offered for us to come back and enjoy it properly which Is why I never tend to ever go back to place as it should be good all the time not just when u get a complaint. So unfortunately nothing more can be said in regards to this .

Went mid-week. No problems getting seated. We had starters and main. Rump steak. Really good. Next time I need to remember to get some veg to offset the meat-sweats. Good food, well presented.

Great 1st visit. 11 of us were seated at chef table. I told the mgr we were celebrating my moms 90 years of life. It was her funeral that day. Unbelievable he came around with 11 shots of irish whisky to toast my mom in heaven. ...class act. Food and service top drawer.

Lovely atmosphere, great food, and friendly, attentive staff. The hummus and selection of breads were delicious, warm, and fresh. The sticky, sesame seed broccoli was delicious. I had this as my main course with a side of Cajun chips with crème fraîche and cheese, both were very filling and made for an ample main course. My friend had steak on a stone, which is such a great idea, as she could ensure it was cooked to her preference. The staff were very attentive and helpful; they squeezed us in without a prior reservation and checked on us throughout. I would highly recommend it.

Great meal here the other night. Their pre-theatre menu is really good value. The novelty of the hot plate steak was actually nice rather than being a gimmick. We ended up each having a 3 course meal (by happy accident - I ordered dessert but my partner was too full, then a member of staff came over with a free spare sticky toffee pudding the kitchen had prepared!) and a bottle of wine for ~£70, all of good quality, which is rare in today’s climate.

We hadn't booked and where very lucky to get a table, service was fantastic as was the food. Great value for money as there's a Sunday special menu. Can't wait to go back 👍😍

Booked the cocktail making experience with a few friends on Saturday and cannot wait to come back! The service from the lads was outstanding, prosecco on arrival and just great craic all round. I sometimes struggle with verbal instructions but they kept me right during the cocktail making and I enjoyed the fun fact knowledge on our questions about our favourite cocktails! A platter of snacks was served, which is an understatement, it was more like a feast with something for everyone - when we had questions about one of the items we were just curious about, the staff member wasn't sure but made sure to go and find out the answer for us which even though we weren't overly worried, it was nice as the restaurant was starting to pick up with customers. We moved round to seat in the restaurant area from the bar area for our meal and the service was super quick. Our table shared starters and we couldn't get over how large the portion sizes were. Most of us had the steak on stone which is great - it's essentially seared on the outside and you cut up your own steak pieces and the stone cooks these further. You can literally cook the pieces all the way through if you wanted to and it will still be tender - I personally like my steak a step away from mooing at me so I just needed to touch it lightly. Honestly we had such a great experience, the staff were lovely, the decor and vibe is class. Top class wee spot in Belfast in such a great location, 2 mins from city hall or great vic st, we will be back again soon and have recommended to friends and family already 🖤

First place we ate at when we arrived to Belfast. We did not have a reservation but luckily we were able to get a table. Food and service were top notch. I would recommend this place if you are visiting Belfast.

absolute disgrace! first time visiting & will definitely not be back. Guy who served us was friendly & nice however was not made aware that the steak he recommended for us as it would be "cheaper" his words. Was delighted with that for the steak to come out raw, covered in blood & had to cook ourselves. i understand that some people may enjoy it that way but i certainly do not at 7 months pregnant i was expecting a well done steak as what we were recommended to order was not explained thoroughly to us. couldn't touch my sides as i was completely turnt, had ask the manager could they even cook it that way i'd try eat it but was told no. Explained to the girl that we weren't aware that it came out like that & im pregnant it would be unsafe & full stop easily turned raw meat & blood on my plate. Really Shocking that there was no help offered to us or a solution. Therefore customer service is Apauling ! Left with a bill Happy sunday. Won't be back

Outstanding city centre venue. Have never tasted steak like it. The staff are there for anything you need and the venue itself is perfect inside. Couldnt recommend it more.

Careful decoration and good service, the staff were always friendly and helpful. The chateaubriand for two people is €65, plus a side of potatoes with cheese and bacon mayonnaise sauce on top €5 each. The drinks we ordered, two Coca Colas, were very small (200ml) and were €2.70 each. In short, the food was good, but it is a slightly overpriced restaurant.

Good value for money early bird menu starter and main for £20

Highly recommended. So that we returned for a second night in a row on a recent trip to Belfast. The pre-theatre special is great value. Had the mussels for starter and rump steak on stone for main. Faultless!

So, I try to order 2 steaks and was not available, top of menu… disappointing as a start. This cannot be in a solely steak menu. Then they propose me at bone. I accepted and was very good. Place too smoky, need ventilation. Seems they don’t care. I read old reviews and everybody said same. Service poor. Not professional, writer cleaning floor while you eating, poor explanation of meat cuts… you spend a fortune and they are not professional. What’s a pity. This means no good management. Hope they lean.

Steak and prawns was lovely which was very filling staff where friendly

The food was amazing. The steak is to die for, so soft, perfectly cooked and delicious. I have to say that the other dishes were delicious as well from the prawns antrees to the chiken supreme. But you must definetly try the steak. On the stone or not, it is absolutly delicious. As desert I loved the Chocolate tart and the sticky toffee pudding.

Being a returning customer over the years, tonight, was a complete disappointment to say the least. It was my dad’s 60th and this was meant to be a special night for him. Our steaks were extremely poor quality and never came out in the stone (the waiter said it was our fault as we should have asked for it on the stone) which was not explained properly (didn’t try to give us a stone either). They then forgot to bring out my dad’s birthday dessert which I had requested twice (online and in person). They also forgot to bring us the dessert menu and it wasn’t busy. When having complained to the manager - they took my money and replied with “we are just having a bad day”. I am completely understanding of having a bad day but they had not planned to compensate us at all for their mistakes. I would keep the couple of hundred £££ this place costs and use it elsewhere. Complete shame what this place has become.

We were very disappointed in our meal we came here for a special occasion my sister's 65th birthday she was really looking forward to her steak served on a stone only to find when it was served no stones. We told the waiter that we wanted stones he said that we didn't order the steaks on stones. Needless to say we were flabbergasted it is called stix and stones after all. The manager came we complained and she said the same we said we did not get any options from the waiter so expected the traditional stones. We have to say she was very rude and insisted we have the steaks as they came. As things turned out the steaks came on stones in the end. The meal itself was rubbish the chips were cold the prawn cocktails were served on warm plates hence my poor sister was sick during the night. I would not recommend this restaurant at all and as for the cost well we paid for a 2 star meal in a supposedly 5 star restaurant. Won't be going back and as for the manager she needs a course in customer service

Good steak, order the surf and mushroom sides with your meal.

Me and my partner went for a meal to celebrate our anniversary. Front of house was lovely, a gent very chatty unfortunately the rest of the services left us very disappointed where we won't be returning. Our order was taken and the starter came down still no drinks had came to our table, they then came I asked 2 separate waiters for a jug of water which was ignored. A table sat to the left of us ( a table of two) I was now finished my starter there order was taken my plate remained on my table empty for 20 minutes another table sat to the right of us (table of at least 8) was also seated and there order taken, we had been here for an hour at this stage and both tables either side of us were served there mains, we had no drinks left an empty starter plate on the table, finally a server came to the table to take the plate and we had the chance to order another drink our mains then came my partners sauce didn't come with his steak had to ask for this twice the food was amazing so it was a shame the service was so bad. We then asked for the bill as the smoke in the restaurant was stinging my eyes and again we sat there for 20 minutes coats on no drinks and had to ask a second time for the bill. The staff were all lovely however the service provided was less then admirable.

Dear Management, I hope this message finds you well, I am writing to express my disappointment with the service received during my recent visit to your establishment on 11/12/2023. While the food was satisfactory, the overall experience was poor by a series of unfortunate incidents. Shortly after ordering, we encountered issues that impacted our enjoyment. After receiving our main course, we were repeatedly asked about dessert within a short timeframe, causing a lot of discomfort which also made us feel rushed. Additionally, my drink was disposed of without being asked if I was finished. Despite bringing this to the attention of the staff, the matter was not solved and I had to escalate the issue to the manager. Unfortunately, the manager's response was far from satisfactory. Her apparent lack of interest, coupled with an unhelpful attitude, left a lasting negative impression on what should have been a celebratory occasion. I understand that every establishment may encounter challenges, but it is crucial to handle such situations with professionalism and courtesy. Regrettably, this was not the case during our visit. I hope you take this feedback seriously and consider implementing measures to ensure a more positive experience for your customers in the future.

Love this place. Waiting staff are wise to the menu and how food is prepared. Food is very tasty. Drinks lovely also.

Decent food , but serious lack of Ventilation. Understandable it’s a restaurant but you just come out stinking of burnt steak. Had to go home and get changed it was that bad. Ruined the whole night.

Great food steak was delicious. Staff very obligeing. We didn't have a reservation. Restaurant was very busy at the start of December couldn't get a table on line. We just turned up and they fit us in. Will definitely go back love their steak on the stone Defo a must have.

Really enjoyed my meal everything was delicious and staff were so friendly really made a difference. Great experience different from the norm. Only thing was I could have eaten a plate full of the garlic prawns as part of the Surf and Turf. Cocktails were excellent

Food was very nice but my husband and I had been so looking forward to the Tuna Steak that has now been taken off the menu. The alternative fish was nice but not a patch on the tuna. So disappointed and won’t be looking forward to returning in the near future 😔

Class steaks....quite smokey, can't be helped due to 'cook your own'

We were 7 adults celebrating a 50th anniversary. We had made reservations a couple of months ahead of time, and were given a great table in the corner, close to the kitchen. It is a very nice restaurant. Let's face it, it is a steak place, and in hindsight, we should have had them cook the steak for those who choose it. Having never cooked on a stone before, a couple of the steaks turned out over done, even though I'm sure the quality of the steak was good. In our defense, they didn't really go into the fact that they could prepare the steaks, and when ordering, it was forgotten. I had the shrimp, and I was able to prepare it on the stone to my liking. The Seabass, apple walnut salad and snacks were very good. We did order a Prawn Cocktail, and the shrimp were on the mushy side, and the individual could only eat a few. I tried it as well, and it was not very appetizing. We did have really good service, and everyone was very friendly. I did give it a 4 star review, although we left there a little disappointed. We paid a good price for the steaks, and it was unfortunate. Not their fault. Live & Learn!

This is an attractively laid out restaurant in a central location in Belfast. There was a good choice of dining options, and prices whilst not cheap, were probably on par with other city centre restaurants. The staff were friendly and our meal was fine but the length of time we had to wait between giving our order and receiving our food was totally unacceptable. Almost an hour!!!

Here on business and Stix and Stones came highly recommended from alot of locals. I was highly impressed with the food and service. Had the chick wings and 12oz Fillet steak. The experience of cooking my own steak on a heated stone right on the table was amazing. Hell of an experience. Patrick was very polite and informative of how things are done... Thank you!!! If I make it back here I'll definitely go back.

Great atmosphere, lively. You can smell the steak on a stone as you walk in . We had the 3 bites options for starters. Broccoli wings, goats cheese balls and peppers . 8/10 , I'd like a bit of spice in the batter . We both had the baked cod with orzo - 10/10 9 year old had the kids steak on the stone with chips , very good , chips 10/10. Good selection of beers although had no ipa available. Good selection of spirits. Sticky toffee pud was sublime 10/10 Will go again

Quite disappointed, had heard great things but felt hurried and a hindrance to the waiting staff. My food was ok but overpriced, had to ask a different server for a drinks order at least twice every time, the staff were young and uninterested, slamming drinks down and walking off, only concerned that we’d be off the table at the time they decided, there were 8 of us so it was quite a bill, felt rushed out.

Following a mix up from the dinner we had last night, we came back today for lunch on the Sunday set menu which was delicious. We both had the chicken wings and the steak. Drinks were also great, we had a pint and a pornstar martini. Service from Laura and Patrick (the manager) was top class, couldn’t fault them at all. This was a trip for my boyfriends birthday to which they brought out a dessert with happy birthday written on the plate, a lovely touch ☺️ Thank you guys!

It happens once in your life and we researched several restaurants to celebrate his 21 years. We traveled over from south Manchester to celebrate with him. We cannot fault the food .. the tomahawk steak was delicious but the service was poor… had to ask for our drinks , ask for the table to be cleared after our mains , ask for a dessert menu . I would hope that you would like to express a response to our disappointment?

Fantastic Resturant. On the stone meal was brilliant. Only yourself to blame if your steak wasnt cooked to your liking 😉. Not the cheapest but well worth the money. Great service even though our waitress was new, she was very attentive and did a great job. Will definetly be back 👍

Excellent customer service. Lively atmosphere for a Monday night If we were not going back to England tomorrow we would be back. Highly recommend

We were asked to take a seat at the bar, as our table wasn’t ready. Fair enough but the two bar staff didn’t acknowledge us, instead loaded the dishwasher. I should note we were the only two at the bar. Once we ordered our drinks it was clear they weren’t experienced, ordered Hendricks gin. They were served in slims, and asked if we wanted limes or lemon. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Moved to the table where we waited a long duration to order. Long time to receive food. We now sit 25 minutes with no clearing table service or follow up to ask how we are doing, even if we liked our food let alone would you like coffee or dessert. The food was delicious, the service is shocking. The poor couple next to us were served their well done steaks before they even received their starters. The staff need training and management needs to do a better job of coverage. Follow up made the mistake of using the facilities before leaving. In a sad state, our visit was Sunday and appears the toilet hadn’t been attended properly since Friday. 😳🤦🏻‍♀️

Was over I Belfast for work and found this amazing stake house. The staff were really nice and friendly. The food was amazing. Would really recommend this place.

Today I went to visit a restaurant in Belfast ( not stix & stones) and while i was waiting to go in 5 or 6 members of staff Chefs/kitchen staff/waitresses came out to the front of Stix & Stones for a smoke and a chat to eachother. 3 of them had the aprons on. I've worked in the catering business for many years and I am 100% certain that is extremely unhygienic to wear ur apron anywhere apart from the kitchen. Also seeing members of staff smoking at the front door of the restaurant is totally off putting. Sort it out.

We had a fabulous evening here from the second we entered where the very attentive staff explained how it all worked, as you cook your own meat, followed by perfectly cooked and presented food from the starters to desserts. I would highly recommend this establishment and couldn’t fault it on anything. A really enjoyable evening on our first visit to Belfast.

Very nice food BUT you really should advise punters about hidden charges such as for the sauce with steak (I ordered extra pepper sauce not knowing even the first was charged) and whilst I often tip for service I don’t like the fact it was added to the bill without prior notice. All in all my pre theatre dining was a tad expensive! Main course was good, pineapple terrine desert was a let down. Don’t think I’ll be rushing back unfortunately.

Fish dishes were really hard to choose from. Lovely decor and the foot was absolutely delicious. Will be back again on my next visit and can’t wait to try more of the menu x

This restaurant is the place to good for steak. We were in a large group and nothing was too much trouble. Drinks came promptly and the staff were very attentive. The starters had plenty of variety and there was something for everyone. Some of our group didn’t want to cook their own steak on the stone and there still stuff from the menu they could order. The sides were tasty and good size portion. Very welcoming place

Lovely meal , steak on the stone delicious , but disappointed when the bill came ,we realised sauce was £1.75 extra each ,plus asked for salad and greens instead of chips,but was also charged as extra side . I feel if the pre theatre menu...

Schade eigentlich, ich hätte deutlich mehr erwartet. Das Essen war gut, aber auch nicht mehr und das ruiniert das Personal, Eine Stunde warten ist eigentlich keine Seltenheit, aber noch besser ist tatsächlich, dass man wirklich aufpassen muss, dass man bekommt was man bestellt. Darüber hinaus kann man fehlerhafte Lieferung gut auf der Rechnung nachvollziehen. Irre wirds zum Schluss, man würde kein Trinkgeld geben für diese Serviceleistung, deswegen werden gleich 10 % mit auf die Rechnung aufgeschlagen, ohne vorher einen Hinweis zu gebeb, in Karte, verbal etc. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen.
