The Chocolate Works in Ribble Valley

We visited the cafe this Sunday. We checked the google timings before we set off. Timings were from 10.00 to 4.00pm. Reached there by 2.00pm and surprisingly the cafe was closed. Extremely disappointed. The timings on the entrance said the same time for Sunday. We were more annoyed as we drove almost an hour to reach Skipton. Won’t be going again.

What an experience! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Chocolate Works and the White Chocolate Hot Chocolates! Highly recommended 8f you are in Clitheroe.

When in Clitheroe I usually pass by and get a milkshake. The prices are cheap and the milkshakes are tasty! I just wish it had a little more variety though.

Fresh melted chocolate into the hot chocolates with perfect finishing touches. Very nice staff good pricing

My husband sent our daughter in to get four cakes as a take away treat. She returned with four millionaire shortbreads that cost £11. He is not tightfisted by any means but £2.75 each???!!!

We visited here last year and we will certainly be coming back when we are able to. The cafe was very clean, staff helpful and polite but most importantly, the food was amazing. In particular the sharing fondue was delicious. My 3 year old very much enjoyed her children’s size hot chocolate too.

We popped in here for a cup of tea and could not resist the chocolate treats on offer. banana waffle was delicious

Just fantastic. My son is 5 so this made for an absolutely fantastic day. Had the chocolate fondue which was perfect to share with him. Staff were lovely & service was quick. Will go NBC again.

Reasonably priced and the fondue was really good! Nice little stop off to chill with a tea/coffee. Friendly staff.

Came for a coffee and got carried away with the waffles!! The whole shop smells amazing. Just way too much to resist!

I visited here as I love chocolate and the menu is fabulous with waffles, ice cream, cakes and excellent coffee. My husband ordered a Mocha coffee and after tasting it we both declared that it was the best one we had ever tasted. I ordered a banana milk shake which comes with thick whipped cream on the top with slices of banana. I can also recommend the Chocolate penguins. It is definitely the place to go if you love chocolate.

If, like me, you like chocolate then you have to visit the chocolate works in Clitheroe. This was my first visit and I found it to be comfortable, cosy and an absolute delight. The staff are friendly and very helpful. There is a great choice for chocolate lovers. I will certainly be going again.

We called in because my daughter was craving for a hot chocolate. She wasn’t disappointed it was the best she had tasted in a long time, proper chocolate not the powdered stuff. Hot chocolate is not my thing so I had an Americana coffee,my wife a cappuccino regrettably the coffee was weak. We are both great coffee lovers and love to taste the coffee. If it’s hot chocolate you want I think you won’t be disappointed.Service was OK. Need to focus on the customer not their mates behind the counter.

A unique place to have a nice relaxed drink and cake! My all time favourite hot drink is white hot chocolate so I was really happy to discover they served it. Definitely worth a visit!

Called in on a busy sunny Saturday afternoon, lots of families in and nice atmosphere.

We nipped in for an afternoon drink with the nephews (3 and 6) and immediately fell in love with the place. Staff were friendly and helpful and the drinks were beautiful. Then there's the cake. Just wow, you've got to try the chocolate orange cake. Small issue where 2 of our drinks slipped off the radar but a member of staff came over to apologize before we said anything and gave us a couple of truffles and our drinks so quickly. Very impressed and fantastic service. Be back again soon! The coffee is beautiful, so much so I've bought some beans from them for use at home

Staffed by children with low service skills and even lower hygiene knowledge. Adult supervision desperately needed.

We called in for a hot chocolate and a coffee and wow when you have a hot chocolate with all the works you certainly get it !!it was the best I've ever had ,it was a large cup of hot chocolate with cream, marshmallows, popcorn chocolate buttons, a brownie and more it was well worth the £6 my husbands coffee wasn't bad either . The toilet was spotless and I loved the decoration in there. The owner was really pleasant and I would highly recommend a visit. I will definately go again.

Came here on a visit to the village. The ultimate hot chocolate was unbelievable! Couldn’t finish it but it was delicious. Owner is really nice too.

Little place in Clitheroe but it really is lovely. Staff are friendly and always smiling. I bought a hot chocolate, which i think they called the works and it was heaven. Bought a cake to share with a friend however there was no chance i was ever going to finish it.

Great little place in the heart of Clitheroe town, myself & partner got 2 coffees both very nice & strong, came with a small chocolate button which was a nice touch, and ordered a carmel cake with Ice cream which was delicious. 2 young staff did a fantastic job and both we're very professional & welcoming. Next time we're getting the waffle as they looked amazing.

Came to Clitheroe for the first time today. Spotted this place soon after arrival and decided to stop for an afternoon drink & cake before we went home.

Lots and lots of chocolate-based yummy food and drinks to choose from, including ice creams, waffles, cakes and special coffees etc. Always welcoming efficient friendly staff. Clean and comfortable.

I sat on the next table to a women with 3 children and a baby. The waitress placed a cup of hot chocolate in front of the woman and the baby. The baby immediately knocked the cup over. The drink spilt on the table and floor.

Popped in here on a very cold day as we visited the town. Chose this one because it looked nice through the window. My wife is quite an expert on hot chocolate - she said it was the best she'd ever had. I don't normally drink chocolate but tried hers and wished I'd had my own cup. My Americano was also very good. Chatted briefly with the owner who is justifiably proud of his product.

Coffee was very good but waffles overpriced and disappointing. Very dry and look much better than they taste.

My wife and I popped in here this morning to get a Hot Chocolate for her and a Coffee for me. Pleasant staff and prices to compare with such as Costa. Chocolate muffin was nicely presented with whipped cream and Choc sauce.

Lovely looking café however - watery hot chocolate was not really what we expected from the alluring promise from chocolate experts !

My wife & I visited the Chocolate Works on Saturday with our 3 year old son. It was fairly busy but we managed to get seated with our pram and placed our order.

Really nice, good quality hot chocolate that actually tastes like real chocolate. The shop is very well presented, and always looks bright and colourful as well as being very clean. Haven’t had a disappointing visit, ever!

Having visited on many occassions we felt it necessary to let everyone know how great this cafe is! A must for any chocolate lovers.. and they also do amazing coffee!

Such a lovely little place. The staff are so nice and polite. We both got the bubble waffles and they were amazing and a good price too. Can't wait for the next visit

I can't enthuse enough about this place. The staff are unfailingly polite and open; in particular the owner is friendly and already loved by all the locals. The decor is snug and cosy without being overwhelming. There are blankets for the cold on most of the tables which is a nice touch. The bathroom in particular is immaculate. The cakes are incredible-I tried the sticky orange cake and it was gorgeous-and the waffles are even better. The hot chocolates are the best I've ever tasted are quite customisable, which is a nice touch. It's good value for a small business and you feel far more welcome than at any other cafe in Clitheroe. This is a must-see for any visitors. I've visited on several occasions and it never fails to impress!

Thoroughly enjoyed a Hot Chocolate each with the works. Lovely polite and helpful staff. Nice settimg as you can sit and watch the world go round. So much nicer than the 'big boys' up the road.
