Food was excellent all staff very polite and helpful.A very good menu especially the deserts.We would certainly recommend The Copper Mine.

What a lovely little find. The menu was vast and prices very reasonable. We had the honey chicken and a special cheesy/chorizo cod and lemon meringue cheesecake and cookie dough. Food was so tasty and massive portions. They offered half rice and half chips as well on the mains as an option. Service was excellent and staff all friendly. Will definitely return.

There was ample parking around 1.30pm. My friends and I entered the restaurant. I was warned it would be a little dark inside. We did not book a meal but we were taken to a table near a window. The staff were very helpful and soon took our orders for drinks. The drinks were quickly delivered. The menus were on the table so meals were ordered. I was surprised how soon our meals were delivered. During our wait for the meals i noticed a constant trickle of people on their way to the restaurant. Two of us ordered home made steak pie with chips, mushy peas and a thick gravy. When the meal was delivered there was a small jug of extra, thick gravy. The pie was a triangle about 5.6 cm. in other words a quarter of a pie. The crust was reasonably soft. The chips were perfect. I did not use the extra gravy. I dine out about twice a week and this pie was the best I have ever had. I did not need a dessert.

1st time here. Great welcome , food as good as I have had for some time. Service very attentive. Price wise very reasonable , portion size just right for me. Definitely will return. The only negative thing hence knocking a mark off I could find was the toilet wasn't to the same standard as the rest of my experience.

Managed to get a table at late notice which was good. Table was small for 4 persons and dogs were allowed in which sadly for daughter was not great as she’s terrified of them. Service was fine and meal arrived quickly. The menu online is not the menu offered on a Sunday as prices are more expensive than online. (Said £6.95/7.95 and upward online) Still for £9.95 not a bad Sunday lunch price however you really don’t get a lot of food. We got one bowl of veg between 4 plenty carrots, cauliflower and cabbage but not a lot of turnip 3 spoons and it was gone. A separate bowl of mushy peas. We did not get a lot of meat and one person had only a few shredded pieces on their plate and small spoonful of mash/roasts. One large Yorkshire. Food tasted nice just don’t expect a huge portion. Desert menu was plentiful priced around £5 each. We enjoyed deserts and quite filling. Drinks reasonably priced also.

Booked for afternoon tea and weren’t disappointed it was so good all of us had to bring some home with us as you get so much. The sausage rolls and the quiche were amazing. I spoke to someone before we came and said I wanted to bring one home as my daughter was staying at home to look after our Cockapoo they said being the Cockapoo so we did. Peggy even got some lovely roast beef from the waitress. Def recommend if anyone is looking for a lovely afternoon tea they have them the first Friday and Saturday of the month.

Wow Wow Wow, can't believe we live in Wolsingham and not been, as a big foodie thought we'd try it out. My Big Slab of perfectly cooked beef over a bed of the nicest Mash I'd ever eaten, with red onion cirlcles caramelised ,that was sweet n crunchy and gert-lush, The sauce boat =OMG thick n flavoursome, It was so tasty I literally couldn't help shoving me finger in to scoop out the last drops of the Most tasty sauce I'd ever eaten Bargain at £21.95p Al,la,cart meal , I've paid £50 in London at posh overpriced Al,la,cart efforts And not tasted any better than this dish. We were there on Friday evening at 6.30pm for the first time and my oh my.....the best pub meals we have had in at least 10 years!! Two of us had starters, I had the fried holoumi sticks which were amazing and the chilli jam was delicious, other had home made scotch egg with homemade brown sauce and the verdict was that is was amazing. Four mains consisting of braised steak and ale with cheese dumplings with homemadechips and perfectly cooked vegetables, feather blade of beef with mash and veg, Scampi with chips and goan fish curry. All four mains were cooked to perfection!! My steak and ale with cheese dumplings was out of this world, and all meals were very generous portions, I also had a portion of home made onion rings and they were delicious. Three of our party had warm waffles with ice cream which got another huge thumbs up. The staff were exemplary in their friendliness, professionalism, menu knowledge, and all round great ambassadors for the Copper Mine. I had two pints of perfectly served real ale. This had to be one of the best pub experiences I have enjoyed in as long as I can remember. Well done to Anne, the chefs, and the serving team, 10 out of 10, and our new absolute favourite destination for fine food and excellent service.

We visited on a Saturday evening and have no complaints whatsoever. Food was perfect, well-timed between courses, beautifully presented and served by very friendly and attentive staff. Thank you to all of you.

Sunday lunch is outstanding as are the staff. The staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient and nothing appears to be a problem. The food is excellent fresh and very tasty, there is always an extensive menu available and always a great selection of desserts on the desserts board. No negatives whatsoever, would highly recommend and has to be one of the best restaurants in the area.

Visited with friends last week as staying in the area. We had a couple of small dogs with us and the staff were very friendly and welcoming of us and the dogs. Went here for a meal with my wife she was doing the vegan thing for January and they had a good range of choice for vegans both mains and deserts. We were a party of 6 adults and 4 children out for an evening meal. We were asked to pre order to ensure that everyone got what they wanted, but this worked extremely well as we didn't have to wait long for our meals. We had starters, mains and some desserts and all were excellent. The staff were friendly and the service was good. There is a very wide choice on the menu with a few quite different things to tempt the more adventurous as well as the usual favourites. I would advise booking as it was busy even though it was mid week.

We visited this place for the 1st time on Friday after speaking to family and and friends for a Birthday meal on Friday. Due to knowing it was bust I booked in adance and even when I rang up to alter the booking everything was fine.We turned up 10 mins before our booking but it was not a problem and seated in our reserved table. The menues were brought out and we ordered 3 mains and 2 kids. It took a while to order as what was on offer had us all in a pickle as it all sounded so nice and the kids menu also sounded fantastic for our kids.As much as I wanted to try one of the fantastic starters we went straight for the mains. I had a T bone with the Stilton sauce, the wife had a wrap, Hunters Chicken for my mother and the kids had chicken with fries and mac n cheese and garlic bread. All the family loved their meals and I for one loved my steak. I am a picky steak eater as I love my steak blue/rare. My T Bone was perfect and the sauce was tip top. I had a Stilton Sauce on the side and it was really nice to be able to taste the stilton in the sauce where in other places we have been there was nothing. Other people in our party really enjoyed their meals and out of the 6 of us 5 had deserts and nothing was left. Next time we visit I am sure I will try a starter and another main as its not often when we go out as a family and we all love what we have had. The only mistake we have with the place is that they brought me out a extra desert when I didnt order one, however once my wife tasted hers she wish we kept it. Massive well done to the owners and staff and we will be back very soon

January lunchtime visit and the place is quite busy, always a good sign. Food was excellent and served nicely. We had fish and chips, pie of the week, corned beef with proper gravy, and I had the burger that came this week with a haggis and whisky sauce. Everyone very happy with their food and appreciative of the excellent service. All good and great value for money.
