Always a fantastic meal and the homemade desserts are divine

Amazing food as always. Great atmosphere and very atentative staff. You never leave hungry and you are not rushed to eat and leave. A very friendly resturant.

We had a day out. We specifically went to Welshpool and called into the Cornstore restaurant. Ordering sweet chilli chicken and coconut sauce with wild rice. X2 The first thing we noticed was the size of the portion and the second was the steam coming off the dish. The dish that the dish came in was also heated. Both our dishes we amazing full of flavour. Very tasty and good value for money. We had to take away our dessert because we had very little room left to eat them at the restaurant. Again and absolute credit to the staff. Without a doubt we would go back for food the staff were wonderful as well We travelled from Denbighshire

We walked through Welshpool as part of a circular route off the Offa Dyke Trail and found this little gem. It was busy, with locals as well; clearly a popular place. Everyone was friendly and our waitress was particularly kind and attentive even though she was run off her feet. We ate an amazing dish of Greek beef with flatbread and salad, and a beef noodle soup that was more like a main meal, with a ton of beef. Both dishes were very tasty. They had an epic dessert menu - we had the mini egg cheesecake, which practically filled the dinner plate. It wasn't cheesy enough for my taste, but was evidently homemade and the oreo biscuit base was gorgeous. This place was pretty and hospitable, and they serve wonderful food. We'd definitely come back.

Called there today for Sunday lunch, lucky I had booked as all the tables were taken and after having our lunch we could see why. My wife had the pork and I had the turkey. Moist freshly cooked meat, loads of veg and everything fresh and tasty. I would recommend and we will be back

A cozy restaurant serving well cooked meals. The staff are polite and efficient, making sure you’re attended to but not bothered. They also have a reasonable drinks menu. The real star of the show is the food - an extensive menu all very well cooked and generously portioned. Great for couples or a big meal with family and friends. Booking is a must!

The food was varied with large portions. Service could have been improved slightly. Overall, it was a pleasant evening.

I went to the corn store with some friends and the interior was very nice. They had airy lights and a good ambience. My friends and i each got starters, and honestly, the starters could have been a main all by itself as the portion sizes were very generous. The shredded beef was amazing, and the whole table loved it. The mains were a decent size, and they came with a bowl of chips and vegeta les for the table. I had the tikka flat bread, which was not the best as it did not taste like tikka. Overall the food was good and the atmosphere was great. Would come back for the shredded beef.

Had a lovely lunch with distant relatives from Welshpool. Our waitress, Honey, could not have been more obliging. Nothing was too much trouble and one of our party requested a dish not on that day’s menu which was cooked specially. Very extensive menu, all beautifully cooked with fresh ingredients. Lovely coffee - very reasonably priced. They were happy for us to choose just a starter as a lighter option. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Right in the town centre, 2 mins walk from large long stay car park.

Lovely friendly staff and wonderful food. A terrific place for an unhurried meal, especially on a special occasion, we went for our wedding anniversary. A great night out, highly recommended.

Great customer service here, squeezing us in for last minute booking with us holidaying in the area. The food was absolutely top notch - fresh, hot and extremely tasty. Didn't have room for dessert but a clever little 'sales pitch' persuaded me to take some banoffee pie home ;) Book in advance if you want a table.

This is a lovely little place, the toilets are upstairs plus more tables, it's small but the food has always been cooked perfectly, a good variety on the menu, always look forward to booking a table and eating here, staff are professional and friendly when I was last there, a dog was allowed downstairs. Definitely visit here again.

This has to be our favourite place to eat . Amazing food and staff are friendly and attentive. My husband had the prawn and crayfish salad and I had Sweet potato, chick pea and spinach curry which was delicious. We had some chunky chips as a side dish . I was too full to eat a sweet but after wading through a long list of homemade desserts my husband opted for a huge portion of Eaton mess cheesecake which was amazing too They use all locally sourced ingredients which is another bonus . Booking is a must , we booked and went yesterday evening (Wednesday) and they were very busy Can’t wait to return and wish I’d now taken photos of the food to put on here as it was presented lovely and plentiful

Little gem of a restaurant tucked down a side street. Lovely friendly atmosphere. I had the rib eye steak which was cooked to perfection. My wife had the duck which again, was fantastic. So much veg and chips. Food all piping hot. Staff very friendly and very efficient. Can’t fault a thing about place.

As ever, fabulous food in generous portions. Reasonable wine list and friendly staff.

After many pub dinners on our walk of Offa's Dyke, it was a treat to find The Cornstore, where we had a mostly raw dinner of wonderful salads and local produce. The portions are very generous so go with a hearty appetite!

This place is totally under the radar and is amazing. We had two nights in Welshpool and ther really aren't many restaurants and we found it hard to find anything about the menu before we arrived, but make the effort to check it out, the food is amazing and it is so friendly. Beware, the portion sizes are huge and the Leek, stilton and mushroom lasagne is to die for. Fabouius all round.

Lovely family tan place with vast menu and delicious puddings, all meals are very large portions so don’t over order!

Thoroughly enjoyed Sunday roast here. Staff were brilliant and so accommodating. I rang 45 mins before they were due to end their shift having just finished work in the area which is unfamiliar to me. I picked a little gem. Can not fault anything and I'm pretty fussy and cook a lot myself. Desserts so tempting I had to order 2 to take away despite being full as an egg. I felt lucky to have been squeezed in. Faultless including service. Keep up the excellent work.

Great valentines day meal here! Considering the night the service was incredible! We had a starter and a main each and the portions were that generous we simply couldn't manage a pudding despite the menu looking amazing! Mentioned to the staff that I needed gluten free options and they were happy to adapt anything on the menu! It was so nice to have such choice! Will definitely return!

Lovely friendly and informative service, pretty decor and buzzy atmosphere. The menu is huge (and a bit hard to read handwritten) and the portions are enormous, probably too big, but really delicious. I have a large appetite but the small portion sizes were more than enough. Best place in Welshpool. Also, it's dog friendly, although I didn't take my dog. X

Went as a group of four and we all agreed this was one of the best roast dinners we have ever had at a restaurant. So often you feel disappointed or short-changed with roasts, but not here. Large, delicious, hot portions. Lovely service. Highly recommended.

Had a meal in the Cornstore with friends last weekend. The staff are terrific and very welcoming. Importantly the food is great. The portion sizes are phenomenal. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We decided to try the lasagne, we asked the waitress what it would come with she said salad, we thought great, just what we wanted, but it arrived with a huge pile of pasta spirals on the side (not needed), and a huge pile of coleslaw and a whacking bowl of chips which we didn't want, and unfortunately barely any salad, it was so rich & very tasty but half the portion would of been enough for my friend and I, she wanted a pudding that was huge too but wow what a pudding, I could'nt look at the sweet menu as I was so full, please cut your portions down|!

Visited your store on Saturday 15th October for lunch, it was presented beautifully thankyou. This was our 1st visit to your business and would certainly recommend well done 👏 However, something that was rather off putting and out of your control. Throughout the duration of our lunch, 2 women sitting in the Window also having lunch didn't shut up the whole time we were in the Cornstore We found the volume of her conversation overwhelming and very annoying 🙄 Who ever you are pace yourself and be more respectful and mindful of your audience when you are lunching out. It got on our nerves 😒 Again thank you for a wonderful lunch..

We were in Welshpool yesterday for the 1940’s weekend. Visited here for lunch & dinner. Beautiful food & friendly service. My lunch of prawns & crayfish with a jacket potato & salad was enormous. At dinner the apple & blackberry crumble was utterly amazing. Huge portions that none of us could finish, sadly.

Attended a group work meal here a couple months ago. There is a great range of choice on the menu, which gets changed on a regular basis. Food came out in an timely manner. The quality of the food was delicious! Staff are friendly and attentive. Lovely place for lunch or dinner.

Found this by complete chance and accident when passing through. We were looking for something quick to eat that caters well to vegetarians which is no easy feat trust me. Boy were we over impressed with this place. Excellent choice for vegetarians, food of a high standard and quality, reasonably priced and portions super generous. In fact, we were so full from our mains we couldn't have dessert which was a shame but by no means a criticism. Compliments to your outstanding chef for the clear heart and thought put into the menu. It's one thing to create a menu like that but to deliver in such a way is really appreciated. You're on my radar for a return visit when back in the area no questions asked.

Fantastic cosy restaurant, gorgeous food and excellent service, we went twice while staying in the area I highly recommend you try it, we did pre-book and would advise you do to save disappointment

What a lovely place. Really nice food.

Disappointed is a decent word, I will start with the food which had NO Taste and cooked by someone who use to eat from the plating. I wanted to go instantly but the kids were starve. The salad has no dressings , asked for oil, vinegar and was told we don't have oil. For a 4.7 good reviews you can't afford ?

We ordered a T Bone steak which had been frozen and put under a grill. It was awful. We also had a lasagne which looked liked something similar had been done. The top was black and you couldn't cut it. I ordered a chicken roast dinner which was nice but ridiculous how much separate veg and potatoes were given for just one person. Id say i was given a bowl of about 10 roast potatoes and another with at least 9 boiled potatoes. The wastage was upsetting. We wouldn't go again.

Plenty of good quality food for our guests. Professional and helpful. Mozzarella balls, pesto, salamis, salads, lovely dressings, meatballs in tomato sauce, vegetarian moussaka and much more, wonderful. Thank you.

No reservation but they managed to find us a table straight away. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food was amazing, spoilt for choice with their menu, will definitely have to.go back and try other dishes. Very tasty and a lot of it. Only thing I wasn't keen on was having a shared towel in the toilet for drying hands , paper towels or a dryer would be more hygienic. Will be back though when next in the area

A real gem! The food is simply great, the service fantastic and a very well-kept atmosphere! Unfortunately we are only passing through here, otherwise we would immediately become regular guests! We had the salmon with a perfect sauce. And for the vegetarian the halloumi, salad, fruit with lots of nuts and chips - perfectly coordinated. And the house wine is also in the upper category. Fantastic!! Fish platter beautifully crisp. It's nice to have the classics in yer platter, sole goujons, scampi, whitebait, you know the drill! Make sure you have pudding! The kinder brownie is a work of art. No toy though 😉

Whilst visiting my 94 yr old dad for his birthday weekend, we had a take-away Sunday lunch. It was absolutely delicious. Probably the best takeout lunch I've ever had.

Friendly staff serving tasty, freshly prepared food. We went for the steak burger and the vegetable lasagne. Also ordered a Greek salad as a side (it was on the menu as either a starter or as a main), and chips. Greedy?....yes! But the logic was that we hadn't eaten since 730, it was now 2 and we wouldn't be home till at least 5 (we didn't actually get home till 7 due to traffic between Wales and York!). We didn't anticipate the generous portions! Something had to give so only half the chips and a few bites from the burger bun were eaten. Everything else was so tasty and obviously prepared with love! The Corn Store will now be a stopping off point on any journey to and from Wales.

Good situation in the middle of Welshpool. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food lovely, large portions, maybe a little too large, struggled to eat 2 courses, would have liked 3 but just couldn’t fit it in.

Becky and the team were absolutely amazing. They hosted us for our wedding reception. The food was brilliant and the portion size fantastic. Very accommodating and proactive to ensure best possible service during Covid. Can not recommend them enough. We will be back soon (after the honeymoon). Loads of love Mr & Mrs B.
