Really good fish and chips - would highly recommend

By and large this place hss cracked it! The bstter is feally goof and the fish is lively and white. The girls in the cafe are very capable and cheerful and most importantly everywhere is clean. They must be good as at the eeekend there are long queues down the road!

Popped in for chips and curry sauce whilst we were passing. The chips were excellent, and the curry sauce was the nicest chip shop curry sauce we've ever tasted! Thanks

We popped in here for a takeaway chippy and were not disappointed. Food and service was excellent.

Went here today and really enjoyed the food. The fish was thick, white and flaky, the chips were very nice with no grease whatsoever. The mushy peas were as good as I've had anywhere else. The wait for the food was over 30 minutes but acceptable as a new girl was being trained. The staff were very polite and friendly. Would I go again? Yes of course I would. We had two very tasty meals,both filling,well cooked and good value for money.

Some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. All very fresh, haddock was tasty and cooked perfectly. The chips were crispy and the smaller portions were a perfect size. Service was bespoke, according to our needs, polite and chatty. I would definitely recommend paying a visit to eat in or to take away. 5 stars all round.

Visiting in the area and had Fisherman’s recommended to us. Enjoyed very much, very nice everything and good quality. Would recommend giving it a try.

Superb quality fish and chips. Both the fish and chips were cooked to perfection in lovely beef dripping. This is a quality establishment that your more than happy to pay for. Highly recommend. Ps I am an ex fish and chip shop owner, so I know good fish and chips when I have them 😊

Like every Friday night we went to our traditional fish and chips. We had haddock and chips. Crispy batter was great, fish was so taste… we definitely enjoyed our meal.

So I'm living temporarily in Settle and was fortunate to find this place. As I told the server, I was brought up on the seaside and this fish and chips is the best I have tried. Not greasy at all and fresh tasting. Not cheap but not expensive either. Very friendly people also. If you like fish and chips you will love this place. A reason you often find people queuing outside in the rain to get it.

The best fish And chips around. We came a cross this wonderful place a few weeks before. The fish is excellent ,service was great & welcoming. Very clean . The restaurant has a takeaway too so if you want to take home it’s just as good to eat . We will be back soon

We were recommended to try the fish and chips from here by a couple of locals. The food did not disappoint at all. Lovely freshly cook food. It was very busy when we arrived and the waitresses were kept busy and very very friendly. The queue for takeaway meals was long which proves how popular this place is.

Takeaway food so atmosphere NA. Nice Fish and Chips. Handy stop off not too far off the A65. Giggleswick/Settle are also worth a visit.

If you want a good Fish and Chip Shop - this is it. Was only in the area for three nights and had two evening meals here. Food was fantastic and on top of that they serve Alcohol too !! what more can you want. I'm surprised it isn't a bigger restaurant because they would fill it easily

Definitely the best fish and chips I've had for ages..I live in Lancashire and the majority of fish and chip emporiums are dire.

Passed by as staying in Settle. Bit of a queue but it was dinner time at 6pm. Ordered large haddock and chips. Waited 10mins. Food was good.

Great service and great fish and chips. These guys sorted out a group of 50 weary and hungry hikers who had just completed the Yorkshire three peaks. Top place. My only criticism is they don't do steak and kidney pudding? Maybe it's a Yorkshire thing 😂

Called in for tea whilst on a solo motorcycling jaunt. Chips were cooked well, fish was just perfect for me, batter crisp and very tasty. Mushy peas were good as well. Portion size was just right and didn't leave me wanting more and I hadn't eaten since breakfast! Will use again whenever I'm this way.

Overpriced, Overrated. Caveat emptor...

Visited on Sunday to have something to eat before settling of home. Staff brilliant my friend and I had them in stitches. 2 old men pretending we were on day release from a care home. My Haddock was tasty. And my friends pie and chips tasty. If I'm in Settle would use again. Philip and Laurie.

Good quality food very pleasant waitress made to feel very welcome.

So we headed to Settle for a wander and picked up some fish and chips to have back at the cottage we were staying at. The menu gave 3 different sizes of haddock small medium or large 9 quid seemed steep for large, so I opted for 2 medium and 1 small for my 10 year old son, plus 2 medium chips and a curry sauce. 23 quid odd in total so around average as we would pay about 20 back home. The fish was average size and I'd say tasted okay but the batter bit too greasy and too much. Chips again tasted okay but size of portion poor. I'd like to see the large at 4quid odd! I'd say they're cashing in on it being a tourist hot spot for sure! Not the worst I've eaten but not the best either! Average fish n chips.

Ate here two nights on the trot and found The Fisherman to excellent. Friendly and super quick service. Great fish and great chips. Oh and the curry sauce was great too. You will not be disappointed.

Food was very overpriced, they didn’t even do cheese! What chippy doesn’t do cheese🤷🏻‍♀️ gravy wasn’t the best but the chips were cooked to perfection and the battered sausage was delish.

Exactly what you expect from a small/local chippy. We sat in and were served our food and a bottle of beer/wine with the meal. Good service, nice chatting with other customers, shelter from rainy weather:-). Don't expect Michelin stars 🙂

Best priced takeaway fish n chips around and other meal alternative are available ie burgers, pies and lasagne, The restaurant is compact, the staff are accommodating and try really hard although In my opinion I would say that this is not really suitable for people who are wheelchair bound as there are some tight maneuvers but don't let this put you off it just the lay out of the building fabrication. Over all I can honestly say that your tum tum will be happy and full full. 😃

Had to wait 30 minutes for chips and they where not the best chips i have had by a long shot and at £ 4.50 for a large portion (ha ha ha ) they should have been wearing masks never going here again

I don’t even live in Yorkshire anymore but any opportunity I head here. Best fish and chips I’ve ever had in the UK (I love fish and chips). I don’t know how they manage it but it never tastes greasy and the chips are perfection. I love fish bites so I always order those, the portions in the restaurant are good - options for bigger and smaller portions depending on your preference. Highly recommend

Visited on a Saturday evening for a takeaway .. Bag given for hot food When asked if we could have another bag for bread cakes cans of pop which were obviously cold Wanted extra money.. Slack that when spending over 30 quid the staff have the neck to even charge extra. Told them I did reviews and this would be noted. If you are the owner of this establishment I would recommend that your staff use a bit of initiative depending on whats being purchased. Food ok Breadcakes small Did i purchase another carrier bag.. NO

Looking forward to a fish and chip tea tonight and what can I say The fish which was lightly battered was cremated , over cooked the fish was dry When your paying £10 for fish and chips you expect to get a well cooked meal The fish was not edible in any shape or form I suggest you send you staff on a refresh training , the fish should be moist and batter only lightly brown not dark brown Get a grip you used to be very good and honestly it’s going to pot

Proper fish and chips cooked beautifully. There is also a full sit down restaurant beside the take away. The food is always good, the quality is always high. Eat in to fully appreciate the crisp batter and excellent fish.

My son and I chose The Fishermans for our late lunch on 06/02/23. Made welcome by friendly staff. The cafe area was spotless. Drinks came straight away and were excellent. Son had fish and salad, I had the fishcake and chips A+. Fresh lovely tasting....

We had haddock, chips, battered sausage and beef burger all to takeaway l, very nice, good quality, friendly staff, totally recommend
