The Forge Tea Room in Ryedale

Highly recommend a visit, we have been on several occasions and each one has been equally enjoyable. The food is absolutely delicious and there is plenty of choice. Our dog was with us and it was nice to be able to sit inside in an area for dogs. Service was prompt and all the staff were friendly and welcoming.

We popped into the trea roon for cup of tea after a visit to the Rydale folk museum, what happened turned into tea, coffe, cakes, scones and panninis, but when things look this good WHY NOT. Every morsel scoffed by us with gusto, well when its this good you have to, friendly welcoming staff, we would definatley go again.

Always use this cafe when I visit Hutton le Hole. There had been a revamp since my last visit and it's the best it has ever looked. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, the menu choices and cake selections are excellent and good value. Plus it is dog friendly. Looking forward to my next visit!

Second visit,wont be the last,highly reccomend this place,staff are polite and friendly ,food is first class,prices are very reasonable,and most of all dog friendly,i would highly reccomend and will return.

We were staying at the caravan club cl site next door and decided to go for a coffee one afternoon, what a great cafe. The first time we went we had coffee and teacakes which were superb. Decided to go for lunch the next day, great idea!!!We both had soup and sandwiches, they were delicious. The best was yet to come though!!!!!My husband had lemon drizzle cake which he loved and came with lashings of fresh cream.I had a fruit scone with butter, jam and clotted cream. What can I say ??? Absolutely gorgeous, scone was warm, soft and absolutely scrumptious.The staff are lovely and attentive, good job I don’t live in Hutton Le Hole as I would be in a there every day. If you are ever in the area you must go.

Gorgeous home baked cakes beautifully presented. Excellent mochas too. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. This is a cut above.

On coach trip from Whitby, called in for light lunch lovely Tuna sandwiches with Gluten Free bun was delicious enjoyed side salad, disappointed they'd sold out of Gf&DF cheesecake though. Had more options than our Hotel that where staying at in Whitby.

Found this cafe yesterday back again today for Lunch, can't recommend it highly enough. At our table we had Lasagne, Sandwiches & toasted panini all delicious.

Fantastic little tea room. Hot chocolate was amazing. All the cakes looked delicious. The service was very friendly and personal, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

Excellent cafe/tea room in charming village. Lovely breakfast. Cakes looked good but too full to try after. Indoor and outside seating. Friendly staff. Good tunes on the radio.

Excellent full English breakfast and very reasonably priced. The place is clean and the staff adhering to the COVID safety rules.

We went there for lunch today and we highly recommend a visit. The food is lovely very friendly staff especially the 2 young boys who served us. We had scones which are delicious.

Visited for lunch today and couldn't really fault anything up until I went to pay and asked if I could purchase some cake to take away. I was told that it would be a bit of a wait, I questioned this as it was literally a couple of slices of cake and I was told "yeah we've got other people to serve". So I paid for my lunch and left. I do feel that the customer service could have been better, they lost custom from me this afternoon and I probably wouldn't return.

We have just been staying in Hutton le Hole for the week and have been well looked after food wise by the lovely people at The Forge Tea Rooms Yummy food especially the local chicken sandwich on local white bread!! Cakes are heavenly Try the coffee cake .. Breakfasts too are delish - I had crispy bacon on that nice white bread and hubmeister had tasty sausage butty. Totally recommend a visit whether you are in the village for the day, staying locally or out on your motorbike and fancy a quiet place to chill and chat bikes.

Food good service excellent all staff very pleasant and friendly. Order was taken and the food arrived quick and was very nice.

Back once more. This time me and the missus glad to be out and about again lovely lunch and safety measures in place. Good food and service are always going to be an attractive option

What fabulous service, popped past and was greeted by really friendly guy who came to take our order. Really lovely bacon sandwiches and coffee, he even brought them out to the car. Great value, great food, amazing service. Will definitely be back.

It is clear that the staff really care about this tea room. They are very welcoming in an unobtrusive way and although they were busy, we had great and friendly service. The sign says that they always have gluten free cake and I had a choice, which is unheard of. They also have a full range of GF sandwiches and jacket potatoes. My partner really enjoyed his brie and bacon panini.It was well arranged, with full COVID measures in place and very clean and uncluttered. I felt very comfortable and safe.We would happily make a detour to go back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. P.S. Try the blueberry panna cotta ice cream or get there early before the orange jaffa ice cream runs out.

Went in for a bacon bap, it was really nice accompanied with a great looking flat white. Service was great & friendly, the young lads that served me were keen to help and made sure everything was good. Would go here again. Solid stuff.

We called here for lunch which was very nice and the coffees were to .And staff were helpful. As at this current situation why wasnt there any hand sanitiser on arrival of going in the tearooms . Details were taken which was done.

Went here on Saturday and whilst breakfasts were ok I’m pretty sure neither the sausages or bacon were freshly cooked which was disappointing. We probably wouldn’t go back to this cafe.

Called in today (5th sept) whilst out biking We were a little early, but a pleasant young man said to give them five mins and they’d be good to go We ordered two latte, one with soya milk And a bacon sandwichOrder arrived promptly and was spot on Coffee nice and warm and bacon sandwich in nice warm bread was lovely One thing to point out, if a customer orders a coffee with dairy free milk perhaps don’t give them dairy milk chocolate on the side... that been said it meant I got two!!Highly recommend and next time we are up that way we will call in again

A lovely dog friendly cafe. We had sandwiches and they were well presented and delicious, as well as the tea and latte. I will definitely be visiting again when when back on the area.

Nice place. Good Covid controls in the main (but would have liked staff to have masks). Served us items if breakfast menu even though breakfast menu time period had expired. Nice home made cakes for afters. Friendly staff.

We drove up from Hull yesterday to visit the area. Called in The Forge Tea Rooms for cream teas. The staff were really friendly and obliging. All distancing rules were adhered to. The cream teas were amazing. Our youngest daughter really enjoyed her slice of chocolate cake. When we are up this way again we will definitely call in. Well done everyone

What excellent organisation to make a visitor feel both safe & welcome. Everything was in place for Track & Trace, all cleaning measures done whilst retaining a cheerful & friendly welcome which is not always easy to do. Management have obviously put a lot of time & effort into doing the best for staff & customers. Add to that, excellent coffee & great service.

Friendly and professional service and excellent tuna mayo sandwiches. Good hot tea and coffee, followed by delicious ice creams to take away. Very happy end to our 4 mile hike!

My annual visit to Hutton, delayed because of the virus was made special by a visit to the Forge. Excellent coffee, good food and the service could not be faulted. The perfect end to my birthday weekend

We had guests who travelled from Glasgow, Derby and the West Riding of Yorkshire all of whom were so impressed by the venue, Sarah and Paul. The home made food was outstanding, the service excellent. The extra warm welcome and beautifully laid out Afternoon Tea made a very special occasion even more special. They truly could not have done more for us!!!We can only Thank You all again for your First Class Service.

Had scone with jam and coffee mid afternoon, Scone was home made and extreemly tasty. Service was friendly even for our dog. Would definatly recomend calling in.

My wife and I ventured out on a walk from Gillamoor on a very slippery, snowy Monday morning not knowing what we would find in Hutton-Le-Hole. We discovered a little gem, beautifully and colourfully decorated! A very warm welcome, nice coffee and home-made scones! What's not to like?! We shall return, hopefully in warmer climes, maybe on bikes, maybe not!!!ThanksBob and Jill

We had a lovely friendly welcome and great cuppa at the forge. We will return again... the cafe is beautifully decorated and has some great photography for sale. We didnt eat as we were not hungry but the scones and cakes all looked very tasty too.

Great service and tasty afternoon tea, lemon sponge cake was so light and tasty, cheese scone so Devine great value for money.Was pleased to find them open and also that they had the stock from chocolate factory which is closed for winter so managed to purchase som3 tasty bars chocolate.

We called into the tea room on a cold wet November day. One of our group has an allergies list as long as your arm however the owner and cake maker took great trouble to explain exactly what was in each cake offering. The allergy sufferer chose his cake and said it was like eating air because it was so wonderful and light.The rest of us all thoroughly enjoyed the homemade cakes that we had selected.Wonderful highly recommend this place

Treated my husband to the Festive Afternoon Tea, pre-booked for lunchtime. What a delicious feast we had. An amazing range of delicious bite-size fare. Wonderful attention to detail. What we didn’t manage to eat was carefully boxed up for us to take home. Lovely friendly staff in delightful surroundings.

Wow! What a wonderful tea room. The food is fantastic and the most amazing home baking from the most lovely owner! It is a real hidden gem and you must go!! The food and the owner are so special, we can't wait to go again!!! We even bought more cheese and mustard scones to take home. fab !!!! The Lemon Drizzle was to die for, the lightest, tastiest cake I have ever eaten. We can't wait to be back. X

We visited the craft centre at Hutton Le Hole today and popped into The Forge Tea Room for a coffee and something to eat. We were met by very friendly staff, clean and well kept dining area. The coffee and mocha were lovely along with a nice warm cheese scone. Very reasonably priced and excellent service. Would highly recommend.

Our first visit to this beautiful tearooms, stopped for breakfast on our way home from Pickering War Weekend, what a find Very impressed with how fresh, clean and pretty everything was set out. The staff were warm and welcoming, especially the young man that served us, very polite and pleasant The food and drinks we ordered were spot on and we will definitely call again when in the area as we noticed lots of yummy cakes and scones

Visited on way back from Whitby after a drive through the moors. We all had different items from the snack menu and all were delicious. A nice touch was the chocolate cake came with cream and the soup came with a fresh warm ciabatta roll. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

In my quest to visit all pretty villages in England, I visited this gorgeous place. Visited the forge for coffee. Lovely coffee nice and hot with a small piece of chocolate from the chocolate factory that was a lovely touch, made a change from the usual biscuit.

We contacted the owner of the Forge tearoom,as we wanted to know if he could accomodate a group of ramblers after a walk myself and my wife were leading. He was very helpful and rearranged tables so that we could all sit together.

Our walking group was soaking wet after a day on the moors, and we were pleasantly surprised to be given a great welcome despite our dripping, bedraggled state. The tea and scones were delicious, and just what we needed.

What a wonderful tearoom - been here a few times now and could not ask for a better place. Fabulous breakfast and amazing cakes. Owners are so friendly and welcoming and so accomodating - I am gluten intolerant and they were so helpful - plenty of options and even offered to make a cake for me after our walk if I didn't want a brownie. I am a huge fan of brownies though and it did not disappoint!!! Highly recommended.

We often stop here for cake and drinks and over the years, never been disappointed at all. Food is well presented, tasty and wholesomely fantastic. Staff are so warm, courteous and real ambassadors to their business! Prices are fantastic and won’t make a dint in your wallet at all. Great menu choices in such a great location. Simply heaven! So would we go again? Oh yes, definitely and see you in Oct half-term x

Set in a beautiful location we ordered lunch , stay very friendly and amongst the nicest Jacket ( how they should be crispy on the outside and melt and fluffy in the middle ) with a lovely Chilli I’ve had in a long time , son had a nice Ham Sandwich and lovely ice cream , excellent

Visited last Saturday it was my second visit but my wife’s first there’s a lovely atmosphere here very clean and tidy has are the restrooms the staff are very friendly and helpful we ordered two teas I had roast beef and horseradish sandwich served with a nice crispy side salad coleslaw tacos and a spicy dip my wife just had a toasted tea cake loads of butter you can also get various homemade cakes and various ice cream flavours well worth a visit

The weather was lovely, so it made sense to pop out in the the wilderness and on the journey pop in to The Forge Tea Room, staff as aways polite and pleasant. Food yummy, tried the the iced fruit tea, very refreshing tbh. Who says tea should be hot, it was bursting with flavour and very refreshing on a hot day. A a good chat with some cyclists on the tables outside in sun. All in all a very enjoyable time. Sarah and Paul have a very nice bunch of young people working in the tea room credit to them all #TeamForge Will I pop in again? For sure, would I recommend? Yes

We visited The Forge after a morning in Ryedale Folk Museum. We sat on one of the outside tables so were able to look out onto the village. The food waa delicious, especially the blueberry ice cream we had afterwards! The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially a very young woman who offered to take a photo of the three of us. We will return next time we visit.

Stopped here for breakfast as we were staying locally & couldn't find fault with any thing. Warm welcome & plenty on offer. Wish we had time to call back & try other items on the menu for the rest of the day. Will be calling back in next time in North Yorkshire.

Quite unassuming from the the outside but the quality of the food and service was very good and the portions generous.

We had to wait until the Rydale Folk Museum opened at 10:00 am, fortunately this great tea room was open for coffee and cake. Pay and Display at the crown inn, good facilites

We had lunch here on Thursday and it was delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was well presented and reasonably priced. Would definitely return and recommend a visit. The restaurant was welcoming and spotless even had an area where dogs were allowed.

Really pleasant staff every time we visit. The coffee and bacon on and egg sandwich are great as is blueberries and pancakes Very clean and seating inside and outside. Well behaved dogs are also welcome. Parking is pay and display nearby.

Lucky enough to be given a gift voucher for Afternoon Tea for Christmas. Only took us 6 months to go but it was worth the wait.

Lovely little cafe which is unfortunately let down by the attitude of some staff who appear to think they are doing customers a favour by letting them in. Blueberry pancake stack was ready made pancakes with very little maple syrup, resulting in a rather dry dish. After 2 attempts the requested Earl Grey arrived to replace the standard tea and we were made to feel this was our fault somehow and we were a nuisance. Not I hasten to add by the younger waitresses who were helpful and pleasant. Undeterred we visited again the following day with much the same treatment. It was our last visit.

Been using for few years, it only seems to get better, the food and drinks are excellent the staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble.

My family and I went to this cafe for some lunch and were very pleasantly surprised. The menu looks much as you might imagine for a modern cafe - sandwiches, panini, soup and jackets etc - but everything is so superbly made and given that touch of care that elevates it above 90% of other cafes.

Lovely little cafe in delightful village. Effcient and friendly service. Good selection of homemade cakes and scones. Broader menu has sandwiches and paninis and full English breakfast. Ice cream too when warm enough to eat ! Reasonable prices given quality and location.

My friend and I were travelling back from Saltburn and we really needed a cup of tea and something nice to eat. It was a very rainy day at about 4pm. We saw this cafe and dived in. What a great place, lovely welcome and everything looked so inviting, clean and comfortable. We ordered cake, a cheese scone and we finished off with their delicious ice cream. Everything we had was wonderful. My friend had the butterscotch and walnut cake and was just about swooning. I wish I could make cheese scones like the one they gave me. Cannot recommend this place enough. Just pop in.

tied in a stop here with a visist to the Ryesale Folk Museum. our large party of 9 plus a big dog were all easily catered for and there is a great choice on the menu and delicious cakes for afters. really attentive service and would highly recommend and visit again

We stopped at this tea room while on a coach trip. There were seats outside for some to sit and enjoy the sun and the others went inside. The tea room is clean and spacious. There were lots to choose from. Nice little village.

This is the perfect place to stop whatever the weather. The food was fantastic with plenty of variety and all cooked fresh. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Had breakfast as a party of 6 with kids and a dog. Good choice including mini breakfast or larger full English. Kids had fab blueberry pancakes. The happily cooked poached eggs which weren't on menu and also catered for a gluten free member of the party. Good service , nice & clean too & good music/ atmosphere. Great little place , will definitely return.

Excellent tea room, beautifully kept, veey friendly staff. The Butterscotch and Walnut cake was delicious. Would recommend.

In May and September we holiday in or near the Whitby area. Always we make time to visit The Forge as the premises are so clean, bright and the staff so very welcoming. The quality of the food served is of a high standard and always freshly made... and that goes for anything listed on the menu. I love the sandwiches made with the seeded bloomer bread, especially the Tuna one. It's one place we shall never stop coming to.

The homemade cakes are exceptional. When the standard fare elsewhere seems to be factory-produced artificial confection, it is real treat to find such beautifully baked delightful creations that actually do taste as good as they look.

Came here with out motorcycle group and were seriously impressed with the bacon butties. We will be back thanks

Passing through Hutton-le-Hole we stayed in this picturesque village for morning coffee. Very good service and well priced. We just had coffee and hot chocolate but for people round us who were eating the food looked really good.

Needing a quick lunch I decided to go for soup and a sandwich, which though slightly more expensive than the place next door at least didn't reduce the sandwich.

Clean great presentation lovely atmosphere,great coffee and cakes,everything with a personal touch ,these guys have done there homework,would be my first stop on a return visit.

What can I say, what a doughnut driving on the country roads on Easter Monday, however the sun was out and it was only right to go visit The Forge see how Sarah and Paul are. The stress of driving on such a day was well worth it, tea room busy as ever, food superb and wow I had a good old cheeky Yorkshire Lager, which was a refreshing welcome. As always pleasant staff, great grub and now I can have a cheeky drink. Then a wondered around taking pictures of a lovely place. 100% recommended if you're passing if not take a diversion you will enjoy the village and tea room.

We have returned every morning for a delicious breakfast. We left today and brought s piece of cake and pecan slice home with us....hmmmm yummy I need the recipe for the pecan slice!

We visit a lot of tea rooms in the Noth York Moors and this was recommended to us so we had to try it. I am really quite critical and can often be disappointed but this absolutely lived up to its reputation. We had a Cheese Scone and a piece of Cherry and Almond cake, both were superb, generously portioned and fresh. Staff were delightful and we will absolutely be returning. You must visit if you are in the area. Thank you Sarah and Paul, keep up the good work!

Lovely Tearoom, pretty decorations, food was fantastic. We try the soup and the paninis and bothe were great. Coffe and tea came with a handmade chocolate from the shop down the road. Lovely touch. The cakes looked amazing although we didn't try them. Staff was friendly, chatty and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

We arrived to this lovely little tea room and were met with a warm welcome. The menu had everything you’d want from a cafe. We ordered sandwiches which were served with salad and crisps. The balsamic dressing was fabulous!!

Called in for a coffee, but chose the mini breakfast which was excellent value, well cooked and delicious. The large latte was the best coffee we’ve had for a very long time. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive.

This is our fifth visit it just gets better ! The service ,the cakes and the really good atmosphere all make this a really smashing place to call in . The chocolate cake and the wonderful lemon drizzle cake ! Beautifully served ! Also the lovely owner ( who doesn’t look a day over 25 ) is a joy to meet .

We called in here for lunch which was fairly busy, staff were very friendly with great service. There was a bit of a mix up with our food but was soon put right and an apology from the staff for there mistake. Food tasted great, my wife had a jacket potato, my son had the soup and I had a panini leaving 3 empty plate going back to the kitchen. Definitely worth a visit if your in the local area.

Having set out on a grey and dismal day, we had our fingers crossed for a nice tea shop in Hutton-le-Hole as our lunch stop. My friend said it should have soup, sandwiches, cheese scones, toasted tea cake and cake. When we reached The Forge it offered everything on our list, and I enjoyed a delicious bowl of soup with a freshly baked cheese scone, whilst my friend had soup and a panini, which they also said was delicious. Service was swift and friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to call again next time I’m in the area.

We were so pleased to have chosen The Forge to revive ourselves following a long walk. The cafe was spotlessly clean and comfortable and dog friendly. The food was excellent and the service spot-on. Highly recommended.

Called in this afternoon after parking the pushchair and grandchildren outside. I went in to order ice cream for the little people and latte for myself, the service in “The Forge” is first class and I would recommend anyone to visit whether it’s just for ice cream like me or one of the cakes which look absolutely delicious or for something of the main menu, go on give it a try if you’re visiting Hutton Le Hole. You can also be entertained by the sheep running around on the green. They can also jump fences into the locals gardens. (The girls loved their ice creams )

Won afternoon tea here in a raffle, so pleased with it. The staff were so friendly and helpful. There was plenty of food so we took some home as it was delicious, we will return again.

Stopped here after a long walk towards Cropton with our pup. Service was very quick , food was lovely. We sat outside in the sun as it was too nice to miss - though dogs were welcome inside. Really enjoyed my small breakfast, coffees to follow were great.
