The Hunmanby Pantry in Scarborough

This place needs commending. Everything we bought was as fresh as fresh! From the pies to the cakes , all perfect, and.....served with a smile! PERFECT!

We visited whilst in the area and sampled the cakes, very good! Everything in the window looked fantastic it was tough to choose. Order at the door as a precaution against covid-19 to keep everyone safe.

Top rate meats, pies , breads and other deli products and brilliant stsff who know and care about the stuff they sell , some great and interesting beers and gins on sale too.

Called in for some lunch for a picnic and we weren't disappointed. The pork and meat pies are especially nice and the selection of cakes are amazing. So amazing in fact that we bought loads - favourites were the salted caramel and lemon meringue tarts! If you are after a friendly shop with lots sweet and savoury this is a great choice

Fantastic bakery in Hunmanby, we were staying at a near by campsite so called in for lunch supplies. Delicious sandwiches made fresh and lovely warm sausage rolls, we added some cakes as they looked so good. Everyone, including the kids really enjoyed the lunch and we will definitely be going back. They have set up to deal with Covid well with a screen at the door and take card payment, all very safe. The staff were friendly and helpful even though it was busy.

We were staying nearby in Reighton for my wife's 40th, and I contacted Eliza at the Hunmanby Pantry in advance to see if they could arrange a gluten-free lemon drizzle cake which I could collect on the morning of the big day. They could - and it was absolutely delicious. (I think it came from a local baker contact called Lottie.) Great service, great baking, lovely cheerful staff.

Stumbled across the Pantry while looking for a sandwich for lunch. It was service with a smile, served at the door, delicious sandwich (I had turkey salad with mayo on granary, delicious). 2 great sarnies, 2 packets crisps, 2 scones, a chocolate brownie and a curd tart. £13. A great find, we’ll be back, and we’ll be trying the fresh produce as well.

lovely place for pies & cakes all at reasonable prices too. Bought curd tart and coffee cake and they were delicious. Called in on our way home from the Gap, after a great day out. A must for anyone visiting Hunmanby or nearby beaches. My son is already asking when can we go back !

Thank you so much Hunmanby Pantry for catering for my mum's wake. The food was delicious! We had a celebration of my amazing mums life at the SJT, a perfect venue. . A heartfelt thanks to Hunmanby Pantry for the delicious buffet. Mum would have been so proud.

Having been to the pantry a lot, I was looking forward to my normal sandwich today, and was genuinely shocked. Standing in a very busy shop watching the staff serve other people, you can sort of workout who will be free to serve you, and I ended up with one of if not the owner, she had just been cutting ham slices for a lady on the slicing machine and while doing so a member of staff asked her if she could cut what I think was turkey for the sandwich she was making also with the slicing machine, now that's fine I don't have a problem with that, but she then became free and ended up serving me, I couldn't ask her to make my sandwich as she would have been handling my sandwich without having washed her hands or even wearing gloves, and I can't eat meat of any kind and would not want those hands all over the bread bun and ingredients of my sandwich.So Not wanting to cause a scene I never said anything and just ordered a sandwich for my wife who can eat meat.And I had to go without, really brassed off, and it will be a while before I risk it again.I know if you haven't seen what's going on prior to entering the shop then you don't know and it's not going to kill you, but when you see this sort of thing while your stood there then I can't bring myself to order anything.Very, very disappointed, because they serve a lot of good stuff, but they must realise that NOT EVERYONE LIKES MEAT ALL OVER EVERYTHING ELSE.

Always service with a smile. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Lovely selection of items. We always visit when we stay locally.

Massive selection of delicious pastries and other comestibles. Most staff great on service but a couple of grumpy faces on younger staff would benefit from a smile.

Whilst on holiday nearby we popped into both parts of the deli on a couple of occasions. One side is licensed and has a selection of gins plus dry goods and some fruit and veg - lovely pickles, chutneys, mayo etc. The other shop has the traditional deli food - cold meats, cheese, pastry products etc. We did think the choice of deli meat was a bit limited but in fairness all of the food we bought was absolutely delicious.

Called in at the Hunmanby Pantry after reading good reviews - they weren't wrong!! I had a bacon brie & cranberry & my other half had a chicken tikka, which were both delicious!! Both sandwiches were packed full of filling & served on lovely bread.We also popped next door for some gin & beer. Lovely girl went thru several gins with me & I tasted a few. Decided on the Hedgerow gin which is beautiful!! Hubby got a couple of Wold Top beers.Staff in both halves of the shop were extremely friendly & helpful. Will definitely be back again on our next trip to Filey

I come here for a breakfast sandwich every other week, the sandwich is always well packed so you get a decent amount for your money. The eggs are cooked beautifully, the bacon is delicious and the sausages are always nice but not dripping with fat like most places that sling a sandwich together. I would definitely reccomend.

There's something fundamentally lacking in this whole area, in terms of being able to buy brilliant lunches and then being let down by boring, formulaic dinners. On this, my seventh, or possibly eighth visit to Flamborough in the last two years, I grabbed, in a fit of desperation, a fresh lobster from Cheryl at East Coast Fisheries for Mrs Jack Russell and a lump of fillet steak from the Co-op for myself. All happily devoured with accompanying veggies and sauces in my mate's static caravan and better than anything you can buy in the local hostelries. Hunmanby Pantry (how ever do you pronounce Hunmanby?) came up with warm and succulent black pudding sausages , caramelised onion and cheese in a roll for lunch, all cooked on a single griddle by incredibly friendly staff in their bakery. Please, please Hunmanby Pantry open a restaurant and start serving this stuff in the evening. If I have to eat another scampi and chips, fish and chips, chicken korma, lasagne, or chilli con carne, I think I'll go barking mad!

Brilliant fresh sandwiches lots of tasty fillings. Fresh bread and cooked meats. Lovely cakes with a great selection. Deli counter serves a variety of products all delicious.

Lovely fresh made sandwiches. Highly recommend the bacon, brie and cranberry. We would definitely come back again.

The business ran a stall at the Moonbeams Music Festival and they were offering a wide range of pies, we chose the sausage rolls which were epic. I would go so far as to say they were the best I have ever had. If you are in the area I would highly recommend you try their produce.

We called to get a sandwich my wife chose a ham salad and I got a bacon and sausage sandwich both were packed full with quality meats in delicious bread buns, good price too. Will definitely be calling again..

Although I can't fault the food and the staff are friendly I don't agree to picking up food with bare hands after previously taking money off the person before me.That money could be from a dirty pocket from a workman! Not good hygiene by all means. I asked for a sausage roll and the girl picked it up with her bare hands, no tongs and popped it into a bag. I should of said something really but didn't. I will if it happens next time.

Best shop in town. Great produce, especially the cakes and bakes. Very generous lunchtime sandwiches too for the hungry workers and passes by. A 'class act'

I popped in for a nosey and came out with a lovely loaf and some delicious biscuits ! Eyed up the hot pastries but saved that for another trip. Staff were very friendly despite tgeshop being busy . Fab little shop

To day one of the best breakfast bogs I've had in a long time. Plenty of choices of fillings and fresh baps.

If you want to give someone a fabulous personal gift for Christmas, look no further. I have just ordered two unique personalised hampers for relatives that suited their individual tastes and my purse!! Eliza could not have been more helpful and professional with advice and understanding . Looking forward to giving my friends the hampers. Well presented shop, with friendly staff. Go early in the day to avoid disappointment the fantastic choices go quick!

The shop is very well presented. I bought a balti pie and fruit scone and both were lovely. Will be returning!

Called here after being at Muston scarecrow festival first then traveled to Hunmanby for The piebald Inn then needed to pass this shop on route to bus stop. Friendly young lady in the shop. Wide range of product. Drinks to sample. I saw before hand that they sold Little Red Berry elderflower and cucumber gin which I had missed buying at Bishop Auckland food festival because it was so popular so had to pop in and buy some. I would have had a much better look in the shop as I thought I had time to look because it was ages until the bus came but a bus which was running late came and had to pay quickly and run for the bus.

We stayed at The Southgate which is next door to the bakery and having read reviews about the pantry, gave it a try.

First class shop with excellent produce all well laid out. Staff very friendly and helpful. Do some amazing bacon sandwiches and wonderful pork pies.

The shop was a feast to the eyes, with everything so well displayed .We bought some lovely tins of special fudge to bring home for our daughter and grandchildren. We also bought some lovely plants for the garden from the adjoining shop. The various bread buns were so tasty and the various marmalade and jams were delicious.The staff so friendly and helpful. They have a wide range of goodies here, if you staying in Hunmanby or even passing through look out for this gem of a shop. Very friendly and imformative

Visited the Hunmanby Pantry for the first time. Great choice of freshly made sandwiches and lots of tempting treats. Have just returned home, made a pot of coffee, and enjoyed the delicious coffee and walnut cake that we bought. Will definitely visit again.

Usually pop in here when in the area, friendly staff and tasty produce. Good selection of pies, cakes, scones, bread etc. Seems to be popular with locals and visitors alike.

Popped in for a sandwich and snacks and walked out with cakes , gin ,rum and port thanks to the free tastings . Friendly , helpful staff and the food purchased was excellent with enough filling on the sandwiches for 3 rolls not 1 and it was lovely lean and local .

Friendly quirky staff, plenty of choice, value for money, The sandwiches are always bursting & the cakes are to die for and that’s just the takeaway.

No visit to Hunmanby should ver happen without calling in at Hunmanby Pantry, especially now they have two shops. The range of food is wonderful and everything is so fresh. Would definitely recommend their pork-pies, range of cheeses and bacon sandwiches

Deli which also sells Yorkshire beers, cider and gin. Friendly staff who are always helpful. Great Christmas ideas including hampers.

All what I have eaten has been good but the scotch eggs with black pudding in the sausage meat are lovely

Popped in to buy some goodies to take to friends who we were visiting, 2 home made pork pies £1.40 each and 2 home made fruit scones 90p each. Beautifully made and good sizes. The shop was full and there was plenty on offer. We need to support these artisan companies if we want to keep up with good food.

We needed some provisions and unfortunately didn't buy them from here. There's a great stock of store cupboard items if you're holidaying nearby. Lots of independent and quality stuff. I'll remember it for next years North Yorkshire jaunt.

after a recommendation, called in to pick up some of the wonderful array of cakes the selection was fabulous, but we selected fat rascals and a fruit cake they were wonderful priced very competitively definitely a must visit again, next time in area

No comer aquí como yo vivo cerca, pero yo no puedo resistirme a tratar en ocasiones yo mismo una tarta. Sus tartas de requesón son de lo mejor que he probado nunca, y sus grasas granujas también son fantásticos.

Un preferido. Gran productos. Amable y experto personal. Selección de quesos para morirse. Sándwiches hermosa para el almuerzo. Parada si estás en Hunmanby. No te decepcionará.

Great sandwich for breakfast plenty of filling and good price. Would definitely say this is the best deli around.

Always friendly service and fresh bread and cakes daily...the iced fingers are to die for!Good selection of cheeses too...its hard to pick out one minus point, but the fact they dont open on Sundays will have to do!

Proper Delis are a little short on the ground around this area - mostly you have to rely on farm shops which usually means driving - this fills the void - a good selection of cheese - pates - breads - and many other delicacies including home made pastries and other Yorkshire produce - well worth a visit

The cottage we were staying at recommended this deli and we were not disappointed.The selection of cheeses is great and we treated ourselves to fresh bread and cakes.We were spoilt for choice on many foods and we also received service with a smile !

Very yummy! A lovely bakery with home made beautiful cakes and pastries. Absolutely delicious. Very well priced also.

Stopped for bacon butty and drinks. Very, very busy place and no wonder! The bacon butty was so tasty. The bread cake was just the right thickness and layers of bacon. Latte was good and the mint brownie and caramel slice were YUM! We sat outside enjoying the sunshine and this place had people queuing the whole time we were there, I think this says a lot.The staff were very friendly and efficient. The place was clean and the food smelled good.

I bought a chicken tandoori sandwich with salad on a baguette and it was poor.The baguette was tough and the filling was tasteless.Staff were polite and friendly.Premises clean.I wish I had chosen something else, avoiding the baguettes!

Lovely all round bakery,deli, and hot food shop. Warm welcome and tasty food. Always well stocked, and plenty of choice and variety.

Lovely shop selling tasty bread and some very tasty cakes served by a very friendly young lady. Would definatley return and highly recommend a visit.

Hubbys only complaint is that the don't do bigger breadcakes. These are substantial tasty and filling sandwiches and the staff are so lovely. They even do Mac cheese pies!!! The cakes are homemade and very moreish....... Yum

Be prepared to drool!! we bought some scones, cream cheese stuffed cherry peppers and baby pumpkins , we would have bought much much more ,if we had fridge space at the cottage that we were renting from hunmamby hall golf and leisure. The staff are friendly and helpful too
