We won’t be back. Service was terrible. A Staff member was rude. There is s no booking but a table was reserved for ‘afternoon tea’ at 10am. Two of our party of 4 made the staff member aware of mobility issues but we were offered a table upstairs rather than vacant downstairs table. On our way out we saw the reserved tables was occupied by people having breakfast. Very disappointing to be given false story. Upstairs was cold and our food was warm not hot. The food was very tasty. No return by staff to see if everything was ok, so we didn’t stay for a second coffee as is our usual after breakfast. Very disappointed as this could have become a regular place for us. Try if you have a thick skin, a warm coat and can manage steep stairs easily.

I have visited this lovely cafe with my sister on our trip to Belfast. Since the moment we stepped in we loved it! The atmosphere is amazing, the staff is very kind and attentive and food was superb! I had the lamppost fry up and my sister had the avocado and poached egg on sourdough bread and let me tell you, we demolished it. There is plenty of little touches that make the cafe homely and comfortable and as a dog lover myself I loved seeing all the little furry friends in there too. Definitely recommend and I know we will be going back for sure!

This pretty CS Lewis inspired café in east Belfast is a treasure trove of vintage crockery, quirky Narnia-themed artwork and with its perfectly pitched playlist, is a delightfully cosy family run affair offering fabulous food, coffee, tea and delicious tray-bakes all using local produce and suppliers. The Lamppost is now open on Friday and Saturday evenings with a brand new menu featuring a great selection of large and small dishes with suggested wine pairing, and some great vegetarian and vegan options, so we were delighted to have been invited down to be one of the first to try out the new menu. We began with a gorgeous Mackerel Rillette with watercress, cucumber pickle, and toasted sourdough, a Tempura Oyster Mushroom with maple glaze, kimchi bean sprouts, and an incredible gochujang mayo, and Grilled Asparagus with harissa yogurt, dill and toasted almonds, all of which were perfect sharing starters. To follow, the Mussels with Orzo, leeks, peas and saffron cream were fresh and bursting with flavour, and the Lentil Dahl with miso tofu and crispy onions with triangles of pitta bread for dipping was one of the tastiest vegan dishes we’d had in quite a while, accompanied by some steamed Asian Greens in sesame and ginger. To finish we had a light yet luscious Lemon Roulade with fresh fruit and vanilla cream, and some vegan cheese, a plant based, spirulina blue-veined wedge of Cashew Blue from Nourish Good Food, with crackers and Irish Black Butter. All washed down with an excellent bottle of Porta 6, and some great cocktails, this is a terrific new menu. Many thanks to the team at the Lamppost for a wonderful evening of fantastic food, service and warm hospitality.

What a delightfully perfect evening we had! Fourteen of us gathered for a surprise meal to celebrate my husband's retirement in the upper top floor room. We all left with special memories of a unique venue, outstanding service and food perfectly cooked. The inclusive service was reminiscent of gentler days, with food served on an eclectic collection of fine porcelain crockery. Correspondence and planning with Victoria could not have been easier. She was incredibly accomodating and all dietary requirements were easily met. Nothing was too much bother. This is a perfect place for a family function or special occasion. The Narnia decor adds so much charm and it truly feels like a step back in time. The food was delicious...Starters included Winter vegetable soup, Buffalo chicken wings and Chicken liver pate. Followed by Roast beef, Teryaki pork and Thai green curry. Finally desserts of Sticky toffee pudding, Lemon tart and Vegan chocolate tart. Everyone agreed that the food was lovely and service impeccable. This is a perfect place to spend time with dear ones. We will be back and highly recommend. Called for afternoon tea on Sunday. We had prebooked, the restaurant was very busy but we were seated quickly and staff were polite and friendly. The atmosphere is nice, it's a quirky restaurant and super dog friendly but unfortunately the food wasn't great. We've had a lot of afternoon teas, this one had white bread sandwiches only cut into rough triangles; rost beef, ham and Mustard and cornation chicken. Then a plain scone each, the scones were warm but not freshly baked warm more microwaved "springy" warm. They would have been better left at room temperature and a selection of cute treats which were clearly frozen and defrosted as they were so soggy. The macaroons were really good but everything else was very wet, giving off Iceland vibes. No chocolate strawberries as mentioned on their website and it just didn't look as fancy. It's not an overly expensive after tea at £19.50 but I still feel it should have been better quality. People around us were having brunch, frys etc and that all looked really good so perhaps we will give it another go.

Our first time in Stock. Food was incredible, service was excellent, (thanks Charlotte). We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will definitely be back.
