Has to be the best ice cream that I have ever had. Jaffa cake plus key lime pie in a cone. Bursting with flavour. Huge scoop of each. Really hot day so the challenge is to eat before it melts! Tip if hot day don’t have in in scone!

Still fabulous, great tasting ice cream in generous amounts and a fair price for what you get. Flavours change and present new opportunities, the whiskey ice cream was great!! All three generations loved it, again!!

The best salted caramel ice cream I have ever tasted! Huge portions and lots of choice. The gingerbread once was a bit special too. We will be back.

If you like ice cream, then this place is an absolute must when visiting The Lakes. Cute little shop nestled in the heart of the picturesque Hawkshead village. By far the best ice cream you’ll ever have. Very friendly staff. Good, hearty scoops in either pots or cones (very good selection of cones too), topped off with a Little Ice Crean Shop waffle disc. Always loads of flavours to choose from, including sorbets and an ice cream treat for your dogs! Can’t wait to come back on our next visit to the Lakes.

You like ice cream then you’re spoilt for choice! The range and combinations are incredible for such a dinky establishment and the quality is brilliant 😊 If you’re lucky you can get a wasp with your ice cream, but this option is not very popular as the young man serving couldn’t give them away 🐝

Great shop. Going for the last few years! Great place to reward the children for walking up a mountain. Amazing range of flavours and new ones added all the time. They aren’t the cheapest but usually enormous sizes that makes the trip worthwhile. Sizes this weekend seemed hugely variable. Some usual staff who gave good sizes and some newer staff who gave small/normal size scoops. They are huge but that makes them worth the trip and £4.50! Hope they get back to where they were

Top range of ice creams served in a classic Lakes village.. great place to refresh yourself and people watch as you unwind after a long (or short) walk in the surrounding hills..

Saw your Insta story, and wanted to write a review to flush out that ridiculous 1 star, troll of a review that person wrote.I’m from Kendal, and visit your shop in Windermere and Hawkshead every now and again. I can honestly say your Ice Cream is on par with big world brands like Ben and Jerries and Haagen Dazs, with an awesome selection to choose from. Massive portioning too (how can you complain about this? ). Such a cool, unique business to have in the Lake District. You can tell the owners have put their passion, love, and care into the business, which very obviously shows.

We were on holiday in Hawkshead for a week and we visit this little gem at least 3 times. All 4 of us chose different flavours each time (there is so many to choose from!). They are delicious and so creamy! Its definitely worth a visit!!

The Little Ice Cream Shop will not disappoint. Such a gem we plan our Lake District walks around ending them near Windermere or Hawkeshead! The flavours are to die for and there are many toppings and cones to choose from too, including gluten free (which makes my coeliac daughter most happy). The portions are generous and good value for the size and quality. Friendly service too, can’t fault TLICS :)

This was my first trip to the Windermere Little Ice Cream Shop and it absolutely beat my expectations - the ice cream was amazing!! I have visited TLICS many times on our visits to Hawkshead. The flavours are amazing, the portions are generous and the staff are really friendly. The best ice cream I’ve ever had (and I’ve eaten a lot!). It’s the first place my girls want to go when we’re on holiday. Looking forward to our next visit.

Visiting this ice cream shop is a MUST if you’re in the Lakes! The staff are lovely and welcoming and the ice cream is honestly to die for. So many amazing flavours, tons of cone options and generous portions... everything you want and more! If you have a dog, make sure to get them a doggo ice cream too. My springer loved it! What a lovely treat after a long hot walk. Good ice cream not to sweet, and huge portions great value for money in the lakes. Great variety of different flavours, and my kids enjoyed the pineapple sorbet too. Only constructive feedback would be there was no outside bin for your rubbish such as tubs and napkins, we visited at the end of a busy day and outside has not been cleared up. Would visit again.

They claimed that the ice cream had different flavours but in reality this wasn't the case! Over priced, over portioned and no discernible flavour! It was like they had bought some tubs of soft scoop from the wholesalers and resold at excessive prices to gullible punters, shame on them all.

We visited here after a day at Grizedale, and OMG, so glad we did! Expect a queue, especially in the summer months - but the perseverance is worth it. We visited yesterday with covid restrictions in place. There was a vast list of flavours to choose from - as well as the usual flavours there was also bounty, Kendal mint cake, snowies, coffee and walnut, pear and caramel. The decision was a difficult one, followed by which cone to have - one dipped in chocolate with either smarties, honeycomb or sprinkles, or a plain waffle one. They do cups too and a smaller bambino options. We opted for one white chocolate, one key lime pie and one salted caramel. Be warned, these ice creams are generous in size - easily could be shared if you wanted to that is :-).I had the key lime pie and as someone who normally wouldn’t have an ice cream, this was gorgeous. So refreshing too! Our daughter was less keen on the white chocolate - fortunately it wasn’t too sweet as I’d expected it would be, but for her she said it didn’t taste like chocolate. She was happy to share with my husband and I so all was not lost.

We visited this ice cream shop when we saw so many people with enormous ice cream cones, while we walked around Hawkshead. We had to visit and opted for tubs of the salted caramel and rum and raisin. They were massive and tasted lovely. Tip: if you get a tub you get loads! Nice outside seated area too.

Love the ice cream from here soooo many flavours to choose from. We went on nice day and had to queue about 30 minutes but its worth it.
