The Mill Cafe in Pembrokeshire

We happened upon The Mill while visiting St David's for the first time. We dropped in just to have a bowl of soup and ended up having probably one of the nicest lunches in a long time. Letting us take our time to properly study the menu before finally deciding, a delightful member of staff took our order of Avocado on toast. This was not just a case of one triangle of toast and half an avocado smashed on to it. It was beautifully presented with a generous amount of well seasoned, slightly spicy avocado balanced on an equally generous amount of toast. The entire meal was topped off by grilled tomatoes on the vine. It was absolutely delicious. We thoroughly recommend The Mill, it's a small enterprise, run by a group of enthusiastic young people and it thoroughly deserves to do well.

Cosy cafe, fantastic service and delicious food. Highly recommended. 5* hygiene rating. We had the standard and large breakfast..great value.

Unassuming little cafe. Super clean. Very warm welcome as soon as we opened the door. We shared two sandwiches with different fillings, both filled very generously. Great value for money, nice relaxed atmosphere. Will return when we’re next in St David’s.

Fantastic little café. Most of the items can be made gluten free. The standard breakfast was really good and the sausages are gluten free! Us coeliacs often have to miss out on the sausages so it was a nice treat.

As usual the food was great.... But the service was really, reaĺly bad today, Waiting for someone to take the order Wrong orders Waiting 30 minutes for the meals Customers fed up of waiting and walking out Staff not paying attention and not bothered. In order to keep the good reputation this has, the staff need to be trained.

Always lovey food and service . Great cafe menu with vegan and vegetarian options . Good coffee. Nice atmosphere too. Very friendly.

We ate here on consecutive days and both meals were outstanding. The Sunday Lunch was superb, good quality meat and fresh vegetables, with the best Yorkshire pudding. The cooked breakfast was if anything even better, in particular the Welsh breakfast with cockles and laverbread oatcake. Even on a Monday in mid December the cafe was busy, which is a tribute to its quality. Likewise for Sunday lunch where booking looks essential. And not forgetting the staff who were very efficient and friendly.

Fantastic simple jacket potato and salad ..delicious salad and perfectly cooked jacket. Sadly too full for cake.

What delicious food! I had the smashed avo on toast, and being a bit of a fussy egg-eater, swapped out the poached egg for a well-done fried egg. Just the right amount of chilli, and the roasted baby vine tomatoes complemented the dish well. My partner had the full Welsh breakfast, and was delighted to see cockles in the combo. Our lattes were hot, frothy and rich too.

The Mill is a wonderful place to go eat! We went for a full welsh breakfast and I had a work meeting so asked if I could use the wifi for that and the staff extremely generously let me use one of their back rooms for it! The food was absolutely delicious and it is such a lovely, cosy and nice place. The staff is very kind and generous. Whether you're in St David for a few hours or days, I would strongly recommend having breakfast or any meal at the Mill! Thank you so much!

Best breakfast around! James and his crew always get it exactly right. The food is always awesome, the coffee is spot on, and the avocado...I'm not sure exactly what they do with it but oh my, is it incredible! Cannot fault a single thing, I've never had a bad order from here. 10/10 heartily recommend to anyone who will listen. P.s. the build -your-own breakfast has everything you could want for a brunch. Definitely my go-to!

Beautiful and atmospheric little cafe. When we visited it was busy - which is usually a good sign. We ordered a caramel latte and a vanilla latte. Both arrived quickly - nice strong coffee and a good hot temperature. We also ordered a bacon sandwich and a meat breakfast wrap. The food took over 20 minutes to arrive but it was well worth the wait! Thick bacon, fluffy scrambled egg. This is a lovely little find and well worth a visit.

Popped in just before they closed at 4, most other places seem to shut between 3 and 5. Only £2 per pot of tea, and Eggs Benedict for £7 and pancakes with bacon £5.50. Both simple but very tasty and hot.

This place is outstanding!, I visited whilst touring west Wales and it was easily the best. The Welsh breakfast is superb, excellent ingredients, beautifully presented and I savoured every mouthful. This was my return visit and it was just as good as the first. Keep up the excellent work,

We ate at a few similar places during our walking holiday but none were anywhere near as good as this. Super food, good value, excellent service. If only everywhere was this good.

Been coming to the Mill for many years, first in Trefin and now in St Davids. The food remains the same, breakfasts very good and good value. Not a fan of the premises at all, kinda claustrophobic and the times we have been in recently, we have really missed the lady that was always there when it was in Trefin, always a warm welcome. More recently we've been met with surly scowls after being largely ignored while they chat between themselves. A real shame as there are many places in St Davids that offer just as good breakfasts.

Lovely experience, small cafe with seating areas both on the ground floor and upstairs. Managed to get a table straight away. Enjoyed the coffee and food. We stayed for a week in Trefin and hoped to eat at The Mill, but found it closed and moved to St David’s this year. We had drinks and cake there - Trefin loss is St David’s gain, well worth a visit !

This lovely cafe is now located in nearby St David's. From the minute we arrived we recieved a warm, friendly welcome. We were shown to our table outside in the courtyard and chose "the full Welsh" breakfast...sausage, bacon, laverbread oatcake, black pudding, cockles, egg and toast...and the best coffee in town. An amazing meal. Can't wait to come back.

Incredibley freindly and cosy spot for breakfast . Great food and a good way to start the day. Situated right next to a pub , so lunch is coverd as well, just up the road from one of the prettist little coves in the area.

Can you believe it’s October and we sat outside in the sunshine for breakfast! It was wonderful!We had the welsh breakfast and a large breakfast, everything was cooked to perfection and delicious! We were so surprised how yummy the food it!The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Views were beautiful. The coffee was so so but the food more than made up for it. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area, would even recommend if you have to travel!

We stayed in a holiday cottage in Trefin and visited this cafe several times. Nice food and extremely nice staff. Good place for walkers/bikers to stop off. They also offer packed lunches to take away.

We visited here after reading it was a must for a Sunday roast.We had to book and when we arrived we were seated straight away, we were also allowed to bring our two dogs inside. There was one veggie option which was broccoli bake (mostly potato).They served beef gravy, even for me, I had to ask for veggie gravy, which didn’t seem a problem.The food was ok, sorry but nothing special. My partner had beef as there was no lamb left.We felt it was overpriced for what it was, at nearly £10.00 each...we had a pudding, apple pie & lemon cheese cake which was lovely, but with one pot of tea, the bill was £30.00, rather steep.

Lovely service, nice coffee. The food is generally very good, with vegan options as well as meaty fry-ups and The Full Welsh is also available. One area for improvement: the OJ is served non chilled, and is from concentrate. Not great; I’d really have appreciated some freshly squeezed or a decent not-from concentrate brand.

Just back from a really excellent family Sunday lunch. The whole family really enjoyed it. The Bread and Butter pudding was superb according to those who had this.

Our family enjoyed lovely Saturday morning breakfasts at the Mill. The atmosphere was welcoming. The Cafe was spacious and bright but still had cosy corners. The breakfasts were enjoyed massively. Service was considerate and personalised. We were made to feel like valued customers. Newspapers were available. Wi-fi was enjoyed by the children. The music choices were excellent. We even bought a piece of art from the impressive collection on display. Even though it was our first time, it seemed obvious that the cafe was popular due to the warm atmosphere and the fact that it was being enjoyed by so many couples and families. One of our best dining experiences in Pembrokeshire. Thanks for such a positive experience.

A Chilling Relaxing Breakfast! On The Sofa! Had their Sausage Sandwich-Really Tasty and Filling! Had A Bacon Brie and Cranberry Sandwich to Take Away! Again Really Scrummy and Filling!

Leckeres Large Breakfast (= english Breakfast), allerdings mit 8,50 ohne Getränk auch etwas teurer als sonstwo. Allerdngs braucht man dann eine ganze Weile nichts mehr zu essen... Das walisische Frühstück hat uns weniger geschmeckt. Tolle Kuchen.

Took three friends there for lunch, who had never been before and they were very impressed. We all enjoyed our meals and had three different lunches. As usual, it was clean and very pleasant without any rush. I go there regularly and have never had a bad experience. All the staff are very friendly and helpful.

We always visit here when in Pembrokeshire. The breakfast is great and really reasonable. When we have stayed in Trefin we never make our breakfast, just walked down the road. They do packed lunches for walkers and light lunches for those sitting down. It has log fire for winter and acts as the post office one day a week. Last time we were there i overheard someone say that it had been soo worth the journey just for the breakfast. Its an art gallery as well and has wonderful views from the outside terrace.
