AN AUDIT NEEDS TO BE DONE ON THIS ESTABLISHMENT

It hasn’t changed since I was a teenager and I am very happy about that. It’s cash only (just FYI).

Such a welcoming environment for man and beast! The beer is good, the staff are great, and the Sunday night folk music is excellent. The fact my dog is more welcome than me is an added bonus! He is much more handsome than me tho!

The bar is cosy and very welcoming with 2 real fires I like it here for a quick pint or three. The harness room is lovely for a few with your partner and can have live music at times,NICE. Upstairs is for when your out on the lash with friends but be early if you want a table or even a seat. GREAT INDEPENDANT PUB WITH 35mm MEASURES.

Great pub in the heart of the Village

My first visit and my wife and I were impressed. It's like a proper village pub. Cold beer, friendly staff, a great fire and a brilliant atmosphere. Based on our experience, it's certainly a pub for the over 50's and that's not a bad thing.

Was quite, got busier as the evening went on. Only one man serving. Not much atmosphere downstairs. Much busier up the stairs, standing room only.

I've been here a few times when visiting friends and it's a great place. The staff are just lovely and very helpful and you'd be daft not to go!

I've never been anywhere with such helpful staff and so clean. The selection of whiskey was endless and they sold Dry Blackthorn cider

The Monty is hands down the best Pub in EK. The Monty is everything a Pub should be. A gem of a Village focal point, the Monty has long been a village fixture, first opening in 1655 as a coaching inn. The stone landing where Coach passengers embarked and disembarked is still there, in their lovely beer garden. Waking inside takes you back in time. The dark wood, stone floors and fireplace are accented by the whitewashed walls. I imagine that roaring fireplace would be "The Spot" for enjoying a libation on a winter day. They have some great lagers AND ale taps to drink from. Their whisky selection is on point as well. The Staff is "Top Shelf" and know how to pull/pour a proper pint! The Monty has it all, a friendly local that serves up some delicious pub grub, drinks and a world class staff that treats the customers right. We can NOT wait to go back!

Still the same busy pub atmosphere, never tried the food ,but the bar service is quick,cheery and friendly,its what I always judge other pubs on ,cant beat the village East Kilbride for a few drinks and a good safe environment....

The Monty is a great pub with a wonderful atmosphere. The main bar is lovely with stone floors and a great selection of beers and a varied and excellent whisky choice. Upstairs is more modern but the atmosphere is just as good. Located in the heart of the old village this pub is popular at all times of the day. A joy to visit.

Really quick service, a roaring fire and great atmosphere. Only downside is that it's cash only, but to be fair, there is a cash machine on site. Sunday night Scottish music on the snug is amazing with John and the guys.

Went back to the Monty as it is called by the regulars. Have visited here before in past vacations. Always an experience, lots of history within the bar and seating areas. We enjoyed the friendly/funny conversations while here. A great place to visit!!!

Always seems to have a good buzz about the place. Is sometimes packed, but that's a good sign really =] And the whisky selection is great :)

Great bar with a good choice in craft beer made even better due to the fact it's pet friendly.

This is a typical old man style pub, great for a catch up with friends as no loud music, the drink is also really cheap. The "monty" allows you to take your dog in with you and they will bring them out a bowl of water and make a fuss over them, which is great if you are out walking in the village. Friendly no frills bar

Real ale/beer on draft, reasonable prices and nice atmosphere. This is a proper pub and good for it, friendly staff but cash only which is very odd these days. Pop in for a pint if you're in EK if you love it you'll spend the night there if you don't you won't have wasted a fortune.

We only sat outside(lovely day)but the lady who served ourselves was very pleasant.

Early Saturday evening. Pleasant atmosphere in the village Square especially in the sunshine. Service was prompt. Would defo visit again.

Love this wee pub, having moved to ek only a year ago we hadn't much opportunity to visit the local pubs but we really like the authenticity of this bar and friendliness of the staff working there
