We recently visited the area for a wedding in Elie / Anstruther. Not expecting too much, this restaurant offered the best food we had during our whole trip to Scotland. Exceptional food and highly welcoming for our family who came with several children and babies. For anyone visiting the area with family, or for golf - this is a diamond spot. P.S golf course is also brilliant for a low cost knock about. Would rate it higher than some of the St Andrews secondary courses.

Had a ln xmas works night out here. 3 course meal. As quite a picky eater, I was worried, and was hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. Can't explain how pleasantly surprised I was. Cleared my plate on ever single course: - Lentil soup and artisan bread. (I ordered for the bread, I'm not really a soup person, but had to stop myself from licking the bowl clean) -traditional turkey dinner (to die for) - ginger and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream (mouth is watering just thinking about it. Service and bar staff where fantastic. Couldn't recommend enough!

Had one of the best meals that we have ever had at Rockies. Scallops, steak, venison- all delicious. Stayed in a guest house nearby. Highly recommend

This is a ‘must-visit’ restaurant when in Fife. It is no surprise that it has been awarded the Best Restaurant in Fife for 2023. The range of menu options and daily specials will satisfy everyone. My wife and myself alone with my son and his girlfriend ate here on Tuesday evening, all our orders we're lovely and three of us four had the 3 courses. Very nice indeed.

We had an absolutely delicious meal here in July, complete with gorgeous views of the sunset over Anstruther and the water. It looked very quiet and potentially closed from outside but don't let that put you off - we enjoyed scallops with black pudding and apple butter, hake with samphire, nduja, new potatoes and hollandaise, and a decadent, rich and moist sticky toffee pudding. The staff were lovely, the location close enough to Anstruther for an easy walk but far enough to have a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere, and the bill extremely reasonable for the quality. We will be back!

Stopped off for late lunch ,had not made a reservation but was made to feel very welcome. The setting could not be better, views of the sea and Anstruther. The young man who was working front of house was friendly helpful and courteous and had a lovely manner. The menu had an excellent and varied variety to suit all tastes. Highly recommended you visit, maybe best to book ahead as think I was very lucky to get a table.😋👍🏼

A little secret; shsh..... Don't tell everybody. What a gem. A 10 minute walk from the town centre. Beautifully cooked haddock and chips. I have known my wife for 46 years and this was the first time that she has eaten all the batter on a piece of fish. That should tell you everything. A most enjoyable experience.

Really enjoyed lunch and service was pleasant especially by the young lad 13 years old. However he took my jacket to hang it when we arrived and forgot to return on the way back so did I. That means we shell return 😅

Fantastic restaurant at Anstruther golf club. Lovely, great value lunch menu and attentive service, all with a fabulous view of the sea and (when the fog lifts) East Lothian.

Wonderful food at The Rockies, Anstruther Golf Clubs restaurant open to all. The starter dish I had was a scallop, crisp pork belly with curried carrot puree and Mary had the salmon in a bouillabaise sauce as per the menu. Great to see a chef be more adventurous and come with novel and exciting dishes than the normal golf club fare. I know golfers like traditional nourishing grub after a round but we also like to try different dishes. Full marks to this chef. Superb food at very affordable prices.

Had some very nice venison and one of the local beers. Great food!

Had Sunday roast food was great would highly recommend! View out over the sea was superb. Service was very good will def come back 🧡

Unfortunately The Rockies was shut, but we played the course (21 February), and the greens were slick, and the course well presented. A lot better than some I've played recently.

Food was good but where was the bacon on the clubsandwich

First visit last Saturday night, and it won't be our last!!!! We were blown away by the food and service. It was beyond delicious, the Chef is obviously very passionate as each dish we had surpassed the last. Book now!!!!!

Best fish in chips I’ve had since I’ve been in Scotland these past two weeks. And mom was able to get the gluten free fish and chips - equally delicious (And I wasn’t going to order the fish and chips because I was so over it, but very glad I did)!

Out on a date night with my lovely wife Jane. So we decided to eat at the Rockies. I had the calamari too start which was delicious cooked to perfection . Jane had a main of flatiron steak 🥩 with a pepper sauce delicious ( Had a wee bit 🙄). Me the usual fish and chips with their own batter awesome 😎. Yes I had a pudding strawberry cheese cake and ice cream Mmmmmm 😋. Absolutely value for money and well looked after by the table staff ❤️ Highly recommend 🙌🙌🙌

Never knew it was the golf club restaurant. Great place, chilled atmosphere, no hurry, pleasant staff and great food at a reasonable price. Will be my go-to place in the East Neuk 😀

Staying in Anstruther and found this restaurant by chance. The food was excellent, the staff friendly and the views amazing! Would definitely recommend!

Good food, nice wine and local beer. The view is superb and all this Served by nice people, what more can you want for a night out.

Lovely meal in the bar. Soup of the day - tomato, chicken liver pate with a special request of toast rather than oatcakes and haggis scotch egg.

Another good meal at this very affordable restaurant .The interior has been redesigned and is very stylish Good quality menu and plenty for the vegetarian in our party . Service was a bit slow between courses but the wait was worth it

Really disappointing. Food was just ok. The sea bass my wife had was without flavour as were the accompanying vegetables, and very greasy. The starter of haggis was a slice of haggis, about a tablespoon of turnip puree, and thin,hard bits of potato crisps. My lamb was good enough but I thought for £24.50 not good value at all. We had heard good things about the food but considering the price for 2 of us came to £58 I would not rush back,

I’m dubious about reviewing this place, in case too many people find out. It is the most wonderful value for money restaurant I’ve had the pleasure of visiting in a long time. The place, the service the food and the price are outstanding. The chef is obviously a well experienced modern thinking connoisseur of the food trade. Well done all round. And thank you …!!!

Lovely restaurant with sea views looking out to Isle of May. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our meals. Great value also for a 2 or 3 course lunch.

The Rockies is brilliant, we go here a lot and love it every time. Food and service is excellent, really reasonably priced.

Great presentation of food, staff was attentive and friendly, great food required to any allergies that people have, chef was great, fantastic mussels to start then the main course was delicious with seasonal produce locally sourced followed by the best homemade sticky toffee pudding. Best 3 course meal I have had in long time.staff was great and fast service.

Not the cheapest dining option around but we had fabulous food - fish; but our party's vegetarian and vegan requirements were also catered for. Service was also professional, welcoming and courteous.

Called in on 5 August to see if we could have lunch on spec after doing costal walk, as we hadn't booked. Food places in St Monance and Pitenweem so disapointing. Warmly welcomed by busy staff and got a table for 2. Food (and beer) excellent and everything tasted so fresh. We had pre booked other places for dinner for that night and the following day so felt we had to honour these bookings or would have returned sooner. We will be back to Rockies, and we will book to avoid being disappointed.

Delicious freshly cooked food in a delightful location. Highly recommended, lovely friendly staff.

Service was terrible. We waited ages to be served, the staff ignored us and the wait between courses was disgraceful and by the time we ordered the sweet there was hardly anything to choose from. Maybe this was just an off day.

The food is so tasty and at a price you can't beat. Even with a £5 supplement for the steak it is still cheap.

Excellent experience. Busy night but great food and service. Mussels were fabulous as was the steak and the cod. Lovely girls Louise and Alice were super busy but were so obliging and cheerful. Given the current situation we felt very lucky. Hats off !!

Our local fish man in Glasgow, Craig, recommended we book. Did not disappoint. One of the best meals in a long time. New chef Ollie in place as of 18th Sept 20. Definitely worth booking ahead to ensure you get table. We loved it.

Had a meal here today! Been a fair few times with mixed results! But today has to be the worst ! We ordered 2 breaded fish with tossed salad and chips! Well we got something a bit less exciting! Hand cut chips on menu! Some small hard frozen chips the ones I usually throw away at the bottom of a bag! The fish tasted ok but the breaded crumb was not fresh and was hard and overcooked! Looked like fried in dirty oil. And as for tossed Salad! It was brown and should have been tossed in bin days ago? Really is it so hard to just serve fresh food???? There's an abundance of fish restaurants to eat in nearby and I will be going to the Waterfront next time! I've had burnt Nachos! Dried up Fish and The worst Lamb dish ever here! I've been I've tried and can safely say the foods consistently below Average!!! The Staff in Bar are very nice and drinks are nice but the Kitchen Staff let the place down!!!!! Pity!

Menu looked good, food unfortunately wasn't that great. The haddock mornay had bones in it and my partner's main course had steak strips that were tough. Staff were friendly and the view is lovely but sadly was a bit disappointed.

Food really exceeded expectations - it's what I'd expect from a high-end restaurant but here it costs half the price. Very reasonable and a huge vegetarian/vegan menu, which can be viewed online. Coffee was very good, certainly on par with lavazza/Illy. Nice view out the window towards the Isle of May.

C’est dans le clubhouse du golf que ça se passe. Le restaurant n’est pas très simple à trouver mais il est en bord de mer.La salle est assez impersonnelle, le service approximatif mais on y mange très bien.Les prix sont vraiment très agréables aussi.Une jolie pause le temps d’un midi.

Ah restaurant in golf course. Food did seem amazing menu of set lunch sounded amazing and reasonably priced bright clean. The sign said visitors welcome but I must say i cant say I was made to feel to feel very welcome.

Nice little place in a picturesque location. We enjoyed the food, it's just a shame we had to wait so long for it. There were several staff frequenting the tables, but they didn't take our order for 20-30 mins after arriving. The food then took an absolute ice age to appear. Luckily when the food arrived it was attractively presented and very tasty. I had the muscles as a starter, which to my surprise was an enormous portion. Well recommended eatery. Just ensure you get your order placed in a timely fashion!
