The Stag Inn in Gwynedd

Was served by Louis all afternoon and had snacks. The service was excellent and friendly and Louis looked after our dog who was quite scared the food we had was delicious and I can't speak highly enough of the bar employees. Very nice place with excellent service x

Nice pub with good range of cans and bottled craft beers. Nice wood-fired pizzas, served with scissors! Rather cold when we visited despite a wood-burner.

Very quiet pub, good wood fired pizza & selection of craft beers. Only Woodburn lit & very cold in there, would have stayed longer if had been warmer.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour by bar staff, his behaviour was very caustic from the start. One of my friends commented to my colleague that he was unfriendly and wondering what his problem was. The barman said that if he wasn't happy he would give him a plastic glass. We walked out of an empty pub in winter where trade is so important and local as that . Never go there especially if that barman is on shift. What a plinker

Went for a quiz night in the upstairs room arranged by friends. Great pub great service and really good pizza's very reasonable for a pint and a good choice of Welsh beer and wine.

What a lovely pub. It was a cold wet night. Went inside and log fire burning away. Great atmospher, cosy and nicely decorated. Friendly and accomodating staff. Good beer, a must if visiting Dolgellau.

Always very welcoming, top top pizza and a good pint

Visited for food on 15/07/23 while riding at Dyfi Bike Park for the weekend. The Pizzas were fantastic and having Beavertown beers on tap was brilliant! Can't wait to get back to Dyfi and head here again for evening meals!

We love the Stag Inn. Great pub, lovely atmosphere, fantastic beer garden (lucky the sun was shining) and the pizzas are tremendous. The staff are very chatty and bubbly too. All adds up to a good pub visit when we are in Doll

We visit for dinner, as we was going home the next day after a break camping , we all had the pizzas, they were amazing, we all really enjoyed our night, the staff were amazing, very friendly, the one bartender was very helpful when choosing my gin.we would definitely recommend visiting and trying the pizzas, amazing place and staff thanks 😊

Favourite pub in Dolgellau. Really friendly staff, good selection of well kept ales from keg and cask, and probably the most dog friendly pub I’ve visited. The food menu is small but perfectly formed with pizzas and other sundries freshly cooked from the wood fired oven out back. Also benefits from a sunny beer garden. What more could you want from a pub!

We popped in at 8.30 at night and they still managed to feed the wife and myself to a couple of beautiful pizza's which were served with scissors, what a brilliant idea. The staff were so friendly and more than willing to squeeze us in. Got a massive table upstairs in the loft. Managed to salvage our evening after we walking out of Croeso Restaurant which all sounded lovely when we booked but was so unorganised we gave up and walked out.

Super place. Friendly and let's me take dog. I will try the pizza someday soon. I live close so it's on my list. Well, since the first half of this message I have had the pizza and its amazing. They spoil my old collie dog and are very lovely peeps. Come and visit. It's a great pub. Nice Gin

Been to the stag inn all week whilst on my travels in Yr Wyddfa. Great service from Louis, rob and India. The food was phenomenal, the service was excellent.

Genuinely friendly staff, excellent wood fired pizza, super fresh salads, great range of beer and best outside dining area in Town. Only in the area for 4 nights, but returned here for our last night, will be our first stop when we return!

Been coming here every night on my holiday down here, best pizza I've had in years. Rob, Louis and India are very welcoming and friendly. Great place, great people! Definitely coming back soon!

What a little gem this place is! Went there twice over the 4 days in the area and would go back anytime. One of the best pubs/eateries in the local area. Amazing pizza that comes straight out of the traditional oven and hot to your plate. The atmosphere, staff and setting are all top notch.

We have had the best experiences at the stag, brilliant food, great beer selection and lovely atmosphere. Our dog loves it and is always made welcome. Definitely recommend the goats cheese and caramelised onion pizza, and the wings are to die for! Very glad to have a local pub of this standard so close to us!

WOW what a pub, first of all the staff are amazing I had two blokes serving me. Decided to play darts and the gentleman at the bar lent us his, kept in touch through the night and serving up a happiness. Great drinks on tap and real Knowledge from behind the bar so defo worth a visit. Parking in the car park behind for cheap so easy access. Will 100% be coming again, people at the bar made it :)

This pub is just what we needed at the end of long day walking in Coed-y-Brenin. We - tired and cranky little and big humans and the quadruped - felt immediately at ease when we were welcomed by the genuinely friendly staff. The inside is truly homely and warm, and the pizzas were great too! The town of Dolgellau is nice and relaxed too. Couldn’t have asked for more!

Great place to drink a pint and have some good food. They got a large variety of local beers and friendly service. You are allowed to bring your dog with you.

Amazing freshly baked pizza with a choice of vegan options including pudding! Staff were a great laugh and the background music choices were excellent. Highlight of our first day in Wales!

The best place to eat and drink in Dolgellau! Great pizza's, a brilliant selection of IPA's, Espresso Martinis on tap (which were really good!) Outdoor area is a suntrap and the staff were all brilliant with us, including the owner Mike 😀 Will definitely return

Dropped in and greeted by friendly welcoming staff, atmosphere chilled and great vibe about the pub. Pizza’s were amazing and Fi gave the big thumbs up to the GF version. Decent hazy IPA on keg and a very credible selection of craft beers in the fridge. Fab retreat after a death defying day in the mountains 😀🤦‍♂️

We arrived a few minutes after the kitchen was supposed to close but the bar staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, they went out of their way to stay open for long enough for us to get served. The pizzas are exceptional, the ambience was so welcoming and the staff as welcoming as could be - highly recommended.

stumbled across this place by pure accident whilst in Snowdon on Friday I'm not a pizza lover however my family wanted to eat here, happy with the choice best pizza I've ever had! Friendly staff & atmosphere. If only they were local I would be a regular, well done for the amazing food.

Visit here one Wednesday lunchtime in August 2023 for a couple of drinks after our little walks. And went back Thursday evening for some food and more drinks. Pizzas were delicious so were the wings. Very helpful staff. Very good atmosphere. Will definitely visit again when back there. Highly recommend 👍

The friendliest pub in Dolgellau. Mike & Paulina are so welcoming and the bar staff are all very friendly and helpful. Louis and Gaius deserve a special mention -Always chatty and cheerful. The food is superb and prices reasonable. I love the garden, it’s a great place to meet friends.

We went to the Stag Inn for a pizza. The small bar area was full and it was raining, so the beer garden was out of bounds, but the barmaid opened the upstairs for us. Private dining, as it turned out. Excellent pizzas and friendly...

Two of us visited for a Saturday lunch as we had seen the TripAdvisor ratings were very good. Friendly greeting from the barman. Gave us advice on pizza choices. Lovely chatty bloke. Had a glass of wine and a beer both of which were fresh...

The pizzas were the best I've ever had !! We had the Billy and the Obi wan and shared both plus the marinara crust dipping sauce. All soo tasty. The dog enjoyed some of the crust!! Superb. The beer was fabulous too.

Stopped in for curry night on a Tuesday, lovely little sharer for 2, all tasted delicious, service was top tier and the Inch's Cider was brilliant!

Seven of us went to the Stag one evening of our holiday. We all had pizza which was delicious, one of the best I've had, especially the base. The landlord/barman was very hospitable and approachable. To some of us it was a shame that some of the beers weren't available but what they did have went down the hatch fine. On the way out I did speak to the guy making the pizza and gave him my compliments.

Excellent pub with knowledgeable, friendly and efficient staff. Louie warned us that the bitter might be coming to the end of the barrel and to bring it back if we were at all in doubt about it. Pizzas were excellent, thin and not overloaded with too many ingredients with an exciting range of flavours. The salads were large, very fresh and tasty. The garden was a sun trap, nicely maintained with well kept flowers and tables cleared and cleaned often. Inside was full of character. The welcome was really warm whether you were a local or visitor. Highly recommend.

A super cool and friendly pub with excellent beer selection. Really superb handmade pizza (with some funky toppings, and lots of veggie options too). Garlic bread is to die for (possibly from garlic butter clogged arteries).

Wow! I’ve been gluten free for over twenty years and believe me when I say this was one of the best gf pizzas I’ve ever had. I had the antipasti pesto and it was amazing! With a glass of good Sauvignon. He had the carnevore...

Bar staff are a great laugh, a good local pub. We went there twice during our stay and they had different ales each time. They do takeout cans of local beer and cider too.

A Fabulous, friendly and welcoming pub with a select, yet extremely delicious menu. The food was exceptional, fresh and very tasty! The owner is obviously a foodie and more!! This pub certainly stands out.

We were a party of 16 that booked a pie n'mash evening meal weeks before we turned up for our meal. By this time we were down to 13 as for various reasons three were unable to join us. On arrival we met blank faces...

Small and cosy venue which mostly has solo bar staff and a solo chef but the service was a 10. Lovely atmosphere and all of the dogs in were made to feel at home. Would recommend!

Great pub with wide selection of local and interesting beers. Not fancy but they make amazing thin crust pizzas- best and most generous pizzas be had in the UK for some time. Nice log fired stove ideal on a cold February evening

We were greeted with a warm welcome from the staff, and had a really enjoyable meal. Everyone was very accommodating of our dogs, and we wouldn't hesitate to visit again. The food is fantastic!

Despite the off season the pub was warm and inviting, excellent service from the lad on the bar with a great range of beers.

What a place! Stumbled upon this place while visiting family and it was a real gem. Food was plentiful and so so cheap! We had various dishes and it was only about £50 . Lovely log fire and great music. Can't wait to come back.

Lovely place, dog friendly with a food menu for them to enjoy. Also, they make amazing pizzas, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. The girls toilet is clean and smells gorgeous and has essentials in case of emergency. Must visit!
