Found this hidden gem in lockdown......smelt the Sunday lunches and have been visiting it ever since!! We travel over 10 miles to go the this pub but totally worth it..had Christmas Dinner last year with all the family and will be going this year too! fantastic management, staff and one amazing 👨‍🍳 chef 👏 food is first class.. Sunday lunches remind me of my nan's when I was a child ❤️ fully recommend.

Simply a wonderful place - and the service is impeccable. The choice of drinks is impressive, and the building is a real pub, not a modern 'shop turned pub' establishment as so many others are. I may be biased here - but not for nothing is it a regular haunt of mine. Also, such 'themed' evenings as the open mic night make the place a bit special. In addition, the 'back room' often has some interesting stuff going on in the evening. I daren't say more without sounding 'grovelling', but the place is highly recommended and a bit special.

Booked a table at the station for a mother's day treat. Had a beautiful 3 course meal . Food was delicious. Although it was busy staff were attentive and met our needs . This is a great friendly gem of a pub any day of the week . Thankyou !

On my way back from the city centre I popped into the station for a quick snack. I decided to go for the chefs special Irish stew & soda bread. From beginning to the end this stew was amazing. The lamb melt in your mouth all the veg was vibrant and delightful and that's not even mention the tasty dumplings and soda bread. This dish biscuits a winner on this cold day.

We ordered our usual on Sunday Nut Roast was amazing.Service was excellent as always.Atmosphere was lovely.Staff are welcoming and you receive a warm welcome.There was couples,family and groups all ages.Most people were having Sunday lunch but few tables sharing chips.

The station over exceeded by miles! Great Sunday lunch, we had the beef and it was cooked perfectly with crispy roast potatoes, delicious roasted carrots and parsnips, fresh French beans and peas and a huge Yorkshire pud! The staff were as always friendly and helpful, my favourite Ken, lovely and smiley and attentive! Only feedback would be to have salt and pepper in cruets, apart from that’s will be back again for more very soon!

Popped in for a drink with a friend to put the world to rights. Ending up staying for a third bottle of wine! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, really cosy, traditional pub with a modern quirky feel. Beer garden looks lovely for the summer. Would highly recommend

We visit this pub as often as we can as we live the other side of Birmingham. It never fails to impress us with well cooked food and comfortable ambience. I really do recommend you try it for home cooked food.

This pub is great. I have lived here all my life & was left wondering how I have missed this gem. As soon as I walked in the hospitality was amazing. Asking if we are ok, do we want more food & drinks so we did not have to go to the bar. The food is home cooked & fabulous. All I can say is I have drank in loads of pubs in this area and go try this one. It has a great garden & a beautiful pub dog. I will be back.. maybe tomorrow 😂

Having had an hour at the German market in Brum we decided we fancied a roast dinner. Called the station and a table was available in half hour which was ideal. Was greeted and shown to our table and ordered the roast beef. It arrived after about 10 minutes and have to say it was lovely, proper home made roast with all the veg for only £11. Both my wife and I said it was the best pub roast we have had for a long time. We will definitely be going back.

We arrived early evening for a pre-show bite to eat. We chose this place as it had tapas (including fish tapas) on its menu. The welcome was excellent and we were given seats. They had Tribute and Proper Job real ale (St. Austell) so I went for the former. It was not on so I chose the latter but when it arrived it was very cloudy. A second attempt was no better. The only other ale option was Shipyard, which I'm not keen on, so I settled for a lager. We then looked at the menu and it bore no resemblance to that on the pub's Website. I was told that they knew about it but I should have looked on Facebook for the new menu. That was a bit annoying. I was undecided whether to go for the linguine or the pie but we both chose the pie. The pies were unavailable, Unfortunately, so was the linguine. At this point we gave up and ate elsewhere. It might have just been my unlucky day. It was a pity because the staff were great.

Popped into to The Station Kings Heath today for a quick bite to eat and WOW I’m so pleased I did. Revamped and Covid secure with a wonderful garden area with maybe 50% of it under cover but fully aired. It’s a really cool urban bar serving incredible food. I only tried the Caribbean Topped fries and would return for those alone! Hot, crispy fries plentifully topped with jerk chicken, jerk sauce, cheese sauce and pineapple which was a delicious addition. The jerk chicken was some of the best I’ve ever tasted - I believe it’s the chef’s (Anthony) family recipe and a closely guarded secret. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and ensured that COVID guidelines were adhered to by everyone and still ensured everyone had a great time. It’s got a brilliant, friendly atmosphere, great food and drinks plus first class service. I’m definitely returning soon.

Return visit on Thursday 26th in the evening with family and friends, excellent and friendly service, good range of beers, together with live music, what more could you want! Once again, it will certainly be on our list next time in Kings Heath.

The station pub is always a fun atmosphere and the food is awesome but when I thought it could get no better. They now do a carvery every sunday. Great food and staff

La estación es un excelente pub, el nuevo menú de sizzler es delicioso y las porciones son extremadamente generosas. Nos habían dicho que sirve tapas en la noche del miércoles así apareció y tenía adecuada Tapas de la pequeña estilo platillo en España en vez de campo disfrazado principal tamaños de tapas que son tan a menudo preparó en Inglaterra. Tuve tomar las típicas, gambas y pasteles de pescado, todo muy bueno y unos precios muy competitivos. Mi compañero estaba muy gratuito acerca de la ale. En general, una comida excelente, con un personal amable en un entorno agradable.

Hemos oído sobre el hermano español y hermana, que tenía restablecido la estación así que decidimos probarlo. El domingo pasado cuatro de nosotros fuimos para el almuerzo.

Good pub food served by friendly staff at a reasonable price. Having eaten here under it's various managements I'm very pleased with it's latest incarnation. Good beer and somewhere you can drink, eat and still have a conversation.

Solíamos comer aquí al menos dos semanas. Pub bastante regular, pero que sirve muy buena comida. Dirección cambió. Nos volvimos. Pedí el 'pastel del día" - era un estado lo siento, parece un pastel de 25p en un plato de aluminio de Islandia. Me enviaron de vuelta, explicando la calidad de la comida que me esperaba. Mi amigo envió su comida de vuelta ya que era o lugareños pobres. La camarera nos ofreció disculpas y educados, y nos dio tanto un reembolso, pero el gerente, que estaba sentado a pocos metros de nosotros no parece ser molestado. No nos hemos vuelto a la comida. Precioso jardín, buena rubia y personal amable.

Vine aquí para el almuerzo de hoy. Descubrir pub antiguo bellamente decorado. Nos recibió la señora español muy agradable detrás del bar y a pesar de ser después de las 3, estaban más que dispuestos a entregarle el menú. Opciones estupendas. Tuve butternut squash & haloumi ensalada, era precioso! Él tenía alas calientes, patatas fritas y ensalada de col casera que también era delicioso. Lugar estaba impecable, incluso los aseos, pero decorado en armonía con sus características tradicionales. Un almuerzo relajante tranquila.... muchos asientos. No puedo esperar a volver a probar el menú de tapas. Altamente recomendado.

I booked a table on Saturday evening for Sunday afternoon. We arrived to find the pub was very quiet but they had still reserved a table for us, with my name on it which was a nice touch. The food is reasonably priced with two courses costing £11.90. I had the beef dinner which was very tasty - I would of liked stuffing with the dinner though as my friend got stuffing with the chicken roast dinner. The sticky toffee pudding was lovely, but again I would of liked the option to have this with custard rather than ice cream. This is a great little pub and I will definitely be returning, hopefully next time the independent Birmingham card can be used!

The pub has recently changed hands. No longer the Sun at The Station and now just The Station.Called in here for Sunday Lunch as I had seen that they had a vegetarian option advertised online. The food was cooked well enough and it came as a decent portion but it was JUST on the tolerable side of warm; it wasn't all hot even though the waitress politely warned us about being careful with the hot plates!I had the nut roast (quite nice), my companion had the roast beef (flavoursome but a little tough). All of the food needs to be seasoned a little more thoroughly.The food was brought fairly quickly as the place wasn't busy at all.One personal peeve: if you've got the television (football) on, turn the blaring bar music off. One or the other makes for a more comfortable dining environment.

I used to love going to the Sun at the Station for their great burgers served with handmade thick fries, I won't go there anymore!I was suprised when I went tonight to see that the menu had changed and the range of burgers had been removed. Only 2 classic burgers remained on the menu; I decided to go ahead and ordered the beef burger. I was very disappointed by the food they served today. The burger was too simple and the ingredients cheap. The meat didn't have any taste and didn't look fresh. The fries were mediocre.Such a big difference compared to the food that used to be served there.Avoid!

This place is undergoing a change, will reserve judgement! The pub exterior had been repainted to a more traditional style than the 'undercoat only' previous colour scheme. The interior was unchanged; however, there was a notice advertising a 'reopening' on St George's Day. I had a single pint of S. Miguel, which was average. Three stars so far - I want to see what happens.

My wife and I decided as a last minute we would eat out last Sunday (13th March 2016) as we were running late shopping. I drove to Kings Heath as there are quite a few places to eat on a Sunday. We had a quick look round at the other pubs on the High St before settling on the Sun ( The Wetherspoons have stopped doing Sunday roasts, The Goose was far too noisy with the football on and the Loco Lounge is better for breakfasts than its Sunday Lunch menu).We hadn't eaten at the Station as we used to know it for many years so didn't know what to expect. What a pleasant surprise. The inside is a lot brighter now than it used to be. The young staff are friendly and efficient and the freshly cooked food we ordered was excellent quality. We went for the 2 course Sunday deal(you can have 3 for £14). We had a good serving of beef with home made yokshire puddings and roast potatoes and a selection of what seemed like fresh vegetables, peas, carrots, parsnip and cabbage. This was followed by a very tasty apple crumble and custard. We washed this down with a small Guinness and lager and lime. Both beers were well kept. All in all a very enjoyable experience that exceeded our expectations. We will definitely return to see what the weekday menu is like.

booked very last minute as my boyfriends mum was coming down with his family as a surprise. they were so accommodating from the moment we walked in. we had a three course Sunday lunch and it was filling and tasty. they had got the wrong food order and offered us all a free round of any drink even though we hadn't complained anyway and were only waiting a further five minutes for the correct order. the starters were loved by everyone, as were the mains; in fact the chicken portions were huge, so big that his sister took a lot of hers home which they wrapped up for her. such pleasant staff. the blueberry cheesecake and apple crumble went down well, however the chocolate fudge sundae wasn't what I was expecting... two scoops of ice cream in a bowl with four small pieces of chocolate fudge. it satisfied me but I expected it in a glass with some cream. my boyfriend also had a problem knowing which loo was male or female and had to ask a member of staff :') overall very nice visit and will definitely be back but will order a different dessert!

Great food at excellent value. 4 of us went in for a few drinks, the food looked really good so we ordered 4 Sunday roasts. The plates were full and delicious. Duck fat potatoes were good, thyme gravy was lovely. I had roast beef, tender and perfectly cooked. Not been here before but walked past many times. Will defo come in again. The girls behind bar were very good. Very relaxed atmosphere. And big beer garden for music nights are on way In told.

New owners. New menu. Beyond reproach. The food was excellent. Looked beautiful on the plate and cooked to perfection. I can honestly say this was the best Sunday roast I have had in years. Will be coming back. Soon! The staff are very friendly and check backs were frequent but not intruding. Worth a try.

Had the best hot dog I've ever eaten and the onion rings are amazing, eaten here loads and have had excellent food everytime

Went in for a couple of beers. Two out of three bar staff were attentive. However, went to use the gents toilets, whereupon two issues were faced:(1) There is no sign to state male or female, only a picture representing a cockerel which some might find confusing, and(2) There was no soap in the toilet soap dispenser. This is unacceptable in an establishment that serves food and drink products for personal consumption

I have always rated the food here, until recently! The chef you had a year or so ago was good! His gravy on the roast dinner was amazing, very beefy but with garlic too. Shame he left! Of late the food as gone downhill, apart from the chips, which are absolutely beautiful. I was there with a friend last night who had a caterpillar in his salad, he was offered a fresh meal but was put off so he was refunded the cost. Although this could happen to any of us at home, when you are serving the public you need to more vigilant, begs the question as to whether it had even been washed! Despite this i went there for lunch today with my partner, what a let down! Although the roast dinner itself was ok, beef a little chewy, whatever herb is used in the gravy, I'd guess at rosemary, its far too overpowering and makes everything taste the same! We also had the bacon wedges, awful! The bacon was barely cooked and the salad looked old and was grity! We barely touched this. A member of staff only came over to ask how the food was she gave some other clients their food. We pointed out our issues to her, may as well not have bothered, all she said was 'ok' and proceeded to walk off even though I was still speaking to her, very rude! Another member of staff came to take our plates, she also asked how the food had been and apologised. At no point were we asked if we wanted replacement wedges or even a refund! I doubt the chef was even informed! Very disappointed in this pub!

Met a friend here for a drink, nice pub - decent selection of real ales and the burgers are good value, and sizeable. We met here on a Tuesday night, but still enough people around to create a good atmosphere yet easy to get a seat.Reasonably priced, good service and a decent location just at the end of Kings Heath High Street (opposite the Easy Gym).
