Trewidden Estate in west Cornwall is our favourite Cornish garden - small but perfectly formed with new views every few steps. Complementing the garden is a super tearoom open throughout the year, even when the garden is closed. Breakfast options include classical Cornish (including hogs pudding), veggie and vegan options plus cinnamon toast, eggs on toast, breakfast baps and (my favourite) mushrooms in a creamy and rosemary sauce on sourdough. Lunch options cover soup, sandwiches and mains with delicious desserts and a wonderful cake display. We always aim to get at least once meal at Trewidden each time we visit Cornwall. We are always impressed by the tasty and varied food, the commitment to local suppliers and the friendly and helpful staff team. Strongly recommended! (The garden is pretty good too).

Really good roast dinner, much better than most restaurant or pub roasts and a very welcoming staff. Worth a visit at £15! A rarity nowadays.

We originally were just visiting the gardens and then decided to have cake after seeing it on some visitors plates. The Bakewell tart was absolutely gorgeous so was my partners Lemon drizzle ..We noticed the lunches being served and I can honestly say every one I saw looked delicious so we booked for Sunday roast.I dont eat meat my partner does....I had a homemade nut roast which was really something else and my partners beef was tender and beautifully cooked so I was informed. When the roast dinners came out I was taken back and I can honestly say I could not fault anything in this place. We were told initially there may be a wait which is perfectly normal with home cooked food to order and if anyone wants food served within 15minutes I suggest you go to a drive through takeaway and sit in a car eating it .Good food is always worth the wait. Our last day in Cornwall was the next day so we could not resist but to go back and have lunch there...Fabulous....The place is a real hidden gem..All the staff are so friendly, the food is absolutely fabulous, the setting is so tranquil and relaxing...we are that keen we are planing a 200 mile round journey just to have a Sunday lunch there.

The cafe was recommended by a friend. Travelling back to the Midlands following a week in Sennen we wanted somewhere to go for breakfast and what a find. The staff were all very welcoming and the food was first rate. We had both meat a veggie full Cornish breakfasts which were lovely. Good quality local ingredients that were well cooked and nicely presented. What was on the specials board for lunch looked good too.

You always feel better after a nice lunch and that's exactly what we had at this lovely tearoom. My wife and I sat outside with a sharing platter of seafood washed down with a glass of prosecco in the glorious sunshine of a hot afternoon. We even returned for breakfast a few days later. Nice staff, excellent food, lovely location and dog friendly too. Would recommend a visit.

Visited as a belated Father's Day outing and we were absolutely blown away. The quality of the food was outstanding and the portions were very generous. The team kindly found a table inside for us, despite the busy lunch rush. Incredible service. I strongly recommend visiting this hidden gem!

A delicious lunch that consisted of chickpea and avocado ciabatta and wonderful carrot cake. It was busy and we hadn't booked however, the waiter sorted out a table for us without any trouble. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our top place for lunch.

Sadly there aren't a great number of traditional Tea Shops in the Lands End peninsular boon-docks past Penzance. Trewidden Gardens are clearly worth a visit in their own right, but thankfully their Tea Shop is open to passing trade as well as garden visitors. Excellent tea - you can always tell "good" Earl Grey at the first sniff - and lovely cakes. Pity there was no Fruit Cake, but the cake menu changes every day so you might be lucky. Not too busy considering the Summer tourist season is now in full swing in W.Cornwall and we called in right at tea-time. Only one adverse comment really - management of all tea shops note well - "There's a special place in Hell reserved for Tea Shop Managers who serve fine tea in earthenware coffee cups and not in proper china tea-cups"....

Had a lunch here while visiting the gardens, and has been the best lunch I have had this holiday. Superb food and staff. I had the special, Sweet Potato and Pepper Arancini balls with the most delicious salad, drizzled with balsamic glaze. If you are visiting the gardens then make sure you dont have your lunch before you go!

Whilst on holiday here in Cornwall we decided to visit Trewidden Gardens. Hoping that the Tearoom would serve a decent lunch we planned our day. What an absolute treat awaited us! You would never know from the sign on the A30 what delights are on offer at this gem of a cafe. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. The quality and choice of food was outstanding. We really enjoyed our experience here and will definitely return before we go home.

Can't rate this lovely tea room highly enough. Lovely food with many options for vegetarians and gluten free. The staff are lovely and friendly. Lovely tea room, but there is also lots of outside seating with or without a parasol. Plus you can visit the tea room without having to go into the gardens (although the gardens are beautiful and also worth a visit), so you can turn up for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.

Charming place with excellent food and exceptional service. We had lunch of fresh crab sandwiches served with interesting salad things after spending the morning in the fabulous garden. I think this is more than just a tea room and you don’t need to pay to enter the gardens to eat here (though I strongly recommend a garden visit too!)
