It was a sunny Saturday so we took the bus to Wuthering heights to have some lunch and enjoy the scenic walk back home. It’s a cosy, warm and traditional pub. We received a friendly welcome and great service. We had two beers and ordered the steak pie and chicken pie with chips, peas and gravy. We both agreed the food was delicious. We’ll definitely be back again.

After staggering down from Top Withins Sunday night it was pitch dark by Stanbury, we'd started walking too late! We missed the Silent Inn and the 'Friendly' Inn was just closing and didn't do food. Finally our last hope The Wuthering Heights Inn came into view and we fell inside. I was desperate to discover whether we could still eat and waited patiently whilst the mangeress and a young bar staff member continued a long conversation without acknowleding us. However, once I'd managed to get their attention we were duly welcomed, found a dog friendly table and menu's and ate a fantastic Sunday Roast accomapnied by a pint of best Yorkshire Bitter, follwed by a lovely desert. I've seen some negative comment here on unfriendlyness but our experience could not have been more positive. I think in my 60 odd years of pub experience, rarely have I experienced such friendly locals and have almost everyone in the pub say hello, even whilst in the loo! As we'd not entirely completed the circular walk our car was some way off parked at the moorside walk start and we asked about booking a local taxi. To my utter astonishment, my wife returned to our table to say the manageress had offered to run one of us to pick up our car herself! This is amazing service for which I was determined to thank in a review. I will never forget the wonderful night, great food and drink and the friendly crowd in the Wuthering Heights Inn, a splendid end to a wonderful day, with grateful thanks to all there.

The Wuthering Heights is, without a doubt, the perfect place to go after a walk on the moors. We have been calling into The Wuthering Heights for many years and thought it was time to give the place a review. The staff are welcoming, the food is very good (the vegan burger is the best I’ve ever had - all vegan burgers are not created equally!) and the view, well, you’ll have to go and see it for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. We will be going again soon.

Went for Sunday lunch having heard about this place as suitable for coeliacs. Oh my goodness! Amazing menu for gf (and for gf kids) and the best statement about the management of cross contamination risk. I had a delicious (huge) roast beef dinner with nothing missed off compared to my non gluten-free mum's; I ate every mouthful and still made room for syrup sponge and custard. Others in the party had scampi and chips which looked fresh and appetising. Prices were very reasonable and, unusually but happily, no disadvantage for being gf (in fact some of the desserts were cheaper!) Service was really friendly and helpful. Top marks!

I originally came across this place about fifteen years ago. My wife and I passed it on a pilgrimage to Bronte country. Recently I wrote a short story and set it in the Wuthering Heights pub. The story was published in a magazine in New York City and then evolved into a novella-in-flash fiction which a couple of bookshops in Haworth agreed to stock. So my wife and I went back to Haworth and had a meal in the Wuthering Heights pub. It was strange sitting in the place where my story was set.The food and ale was first class and the staff warm and friendly. We arrived about 5pm and waited till 5.30 when the food was being served, again the ordering was simple. We ordered the chicken burger, scampi and I had chips with gravy (the gravy is epic!). The food is all freshly cooked and to order and was excellent, nothing left at the end. She said it was lovely, and filling. I had the Mushroom Strongonoff.Mine came, rich chestnut coloured sauce served with sticky rice and wild rice mound. I could rave about that sauce, Creamy but not claggy, spicy but not raw, The only lack was a slice of bread and butter to wipe my plate clean. My daughter came to the rescue with a corner of her burger bun.Seems a welcoming venue for all, with gins and real ales; though as the driver I had a really nice and welcome pot of tea.

We visited here as we were staying in the area for a couple of days. We booked as they allow dogs in the eating area.

Food was most obviously microwaved from frozen which was a disappointment as I expect homemade or fresh from a small traditional pub.

This is a little gem hid in Stanbury .Very well laid out with a good selection of gin and real ale The porta is fabulous and we ordered home made soup which was delicious. The food around us looked good. A good car park and seating outside. We always call in when fellwalking in the area.

Went with friends after a long walk around the moors - sunny, warm day. Sat outside. Excellent choice of ales. Good surroundings and views. Friendly staff. Excellent food. Menu a little restricted - consider adding some more novel choices - something light like a salad or something less stodgy for those who need to be careful with what they eat. Only other suggestion is to tidy up outside. The empty beer kegs lined up around the back garden spoil it a little. Otherwise a great place for food and drinks at lunchtime or after a long walk in the evening!

We had set up our campervan and decided to walk along the pennine way to Haworth. While walking back to our camp the heavens opened and we got pretty damp.

The best thing about this pub is it's genuine character and shrines to the Brontes. Would love to have tried one of their Real Ales, but was driving. Took my mother, who was suitably impressed, and had the hot beef sandwich and six big chips for £7.95, and a nice `tea for two'. Will go again- we need to encourage these old inns- they must survive for ever!

Popped in again post-walk during the un-seasonally cold start to May. It was much like being greeted by an old friend; fire was roaring; the real ale exceptionally well-kept and the food hearty. They recently won the local CAMRA award for pub of the season and it’s easy to see why.

Down from Top Withens to Stanbury and the pub for a well earned rest. We follow the path down through some beautiful countryside and my daughter is still loving the walking until we reach Stanbury and The Wuthering Heights and meet up with my wife. This is a great pub with an open fire good choice of gins and excellent real ale I had a couple of excellent porter. The food on offer looked very nice and the landlord and staff are very friendly. They have also won a local area award.

The first day of March and we were in this area and wanted lunch. This was a nice place which offered fish, chips, mushy peas with bread and butter for just £6.......a Friday special I think. Although the portion size wasn’t huge it was more than adequate to see us through the rest of the day. Food was well cooked and tasty and with a nice range of beers on offer, what is not to like? This pub has a lot going for it as it’s spacious, warm and dog friendly.....it was pretty quiet when we were there but it’s hardly peak tourist season. There are some seating areas at the rear of the pub which overlook the valley so that would be nice on a warm day and there are also some glamping units which we didn’t actually see.

Visited here for Wifeys birthday, stayed in the Charlotte shepherds hut, from the moment we got here, till when we left, nothing was too much trouble, Darren, the landlord, was really friendly and helpful, despite the snow, the shepherds hut was warm, clean, a really comfy bed, solar lighting and charging points, log burner toasty, plenty of logs and kindling, pub full of friendly locals, food great tasting, great price and good portions, 4 x real ales on draught, would certainly come back thanks.

Why go to Stanbury on a windy day in January? The stark pennine scenery is enough. But then you could call here and find complimentary sunday papers and decent real ale. The lovely girl behind the bar could rescue you with cashback, and the young man who brings out the food could sensibly suggest he brings tomato sauce for your teenage daughter, before correctly doing his checkback. You might reflect on the interesting marriage of pâté and picallili, and on whether it is all home made. You might even consider glamping here, with walks to Top Withens and the Brontë falls. The best way to review a place is to go back. We do.

This is a stylish pub with a traditional feel to it. Didn't eat but menu looks very tasty. Staff friendly and ready chat. Real fire, real ale and a choice of gins makes it easy to see why they won Pub of the Season for 2018.
