I disagree with the person who wrote food was poor? The food is lovely! The take seriously and accommodate people with Intolerances (like mine, which are many) and I’ve never had a reaction! Meaning it’s a really safe place for me to eat!

After being recommended we visited early in the evening & we were only diners- but do not worry the food was fab & freshly cooked,it brought back memories of curry in the 1980’s.... served in a very much a rustic setting ! Would definitely recommend & you must try the katlama

We as a family used to eat at Saleems on Ladypool road until they closed and re located. We like the people. Their souls are of pure gold and the food is of a good price. It was a little cold when we went last time. That would be our only criticism.

So glad to discover Saleems has reopened in this guise. The same value for money tasty food that we used to get in Ladypool Road. Abdul's menu and cooking is totally replicated here by Ref is and his small team. My chicken Balti was just like it used to be (haven't had one as good for years) and roti and naan as good as you get.

Although we live 2 hours away in Wiltshire we detour here whenever we can, as simply put it is the tastiest curry you will ever eat. Rafiq the owner is a lovely gentleman who always looks after us. Is it posh .... no Is it 5* dining..... no But it is stunning food that will have you licking the plate, and looking forward to going back 😁😁😁😁

Having read rave reviews and having heard an article on Radio 4 we came to Abdul's with high hopes....and were seriously disappointed. It was nothing like the balti houses we used to visit 30 years ago. Spotlessly clean, friendly service, but very poor food. For starters we had pakora and chicken tikka. The pakora was stodgy, the chicken tikka dry. For mains we had two different chicken baltis. One was very dry, the other in what looked (and tasted) like curry flavoured Bisto gravy. To cap it all, the naan was the worst that I have ever had - undercooked, flabby and tasteless. Extremely poor food, extremely poor value - the baltis are £7.75 each. There are plenty of far better places to go.

Sunday breakfast can never be the same again. £4 for a beautiful light chick pea curry and 3 breads it’s marvellous. Open 10 - 12 only on Sunday. Well worth a visit. Also this place does the best Katlamas in the whole of Brum.
