Baltic Bakehouse in Liverpool

Bought a loaf from here, for a family lunch. On returning home I realised that I hadn't enquired about my daughter's nut allergy, so I called the bakery. I explained the situation and told the girl what we had bought. The response was the worst we've ever had. Do the ingredients contain nuts "Don't know." Don't you bake the bread there? "No, it's made at our unit." Do you have any statements about about allergies? "No, it's pretty rubbish really." Then I was told (to paraphrase) "it's made in a place that also prepares pastries that use nuts, and it is all cross-contaminated, so it doesn't make any difference anyway". She didn't say "we try our best, but cross-contamination can happen". "It's all cross-contaminated" !!! In this day and age, this is simply not good enough. The bread was nice, but my daughter couldn't eat it and we won't buy from here again.

Great brunch/breakfast spot. The Ultimate Grilled Cheese sandwich is amazing is definitely recommend.

I went to the Baltic Bakehouse with my (grown up) son. Our experience was awful. The staff are miserable and everything seemed to be an effort. I asked for my pain au chocolate to be heated up which she grudgingly did. The bacon in my son's BLT was hard and dry. It had obviously been sitting somewhere for a while. We decided to leave and on the way out I took the rest of the uneaten sandwich back. The lady thought I wanted it in a bag to take with me until I explained how awful it was. She was not happy and asked me if I wanted a refund to which I agreed. She then said that she couldn't put money back on my card and I would have to email someone else to get it sorted. I wasn't happy with that. So she told me she would give me cash and proceeded to give me the total spend. I told her I only wanted the cost of the sandwich back but she quite rudely told me I could have it all. Obviously I won't be going back as that wasn't my first experience of miserable staff in there but it will definitely be my last. It's so disappointing because I love supporting independent local businesses especially cafes and restaurants but you can't treat customers that way.

We absolutely loved our bacon and sausage butties this morning. Kept me full all day. The bread was amazing. Thank you.

Myself and my wife visited Liverpool for the first time in February and stopped at the Baltic Hotel. We were fortunate enough to stumble on the Baltic Bakehouse for breakfast, the bread is freshly baked in house and is amazing, cannot recommend highly enough their immense sausage sandwiches!!!

Lovens little bakery! We enjoyed the granola, which was much larger than expected, moreover, the mushroom toast was excellent. We brought home a cinnamon bun and one of their breads - both were just as great as the things we got for breakfast.

Had lunch here which was nice, bread was tasty but with sourdough when grilled was hard to bite and eat so the sandwich was a struggle and ended up deconstructed. The almond croissant however was delicious, one of the best I've had.

Breakfast with friends during Liverpool visit! Mix of dishes -> satisfied faces all round! Place was warm cosy and smelled of baked goods… I imagine it’s how dough feels on its first trip inside an oven. Would go back again and again.

As always, amazing, knowledgeable, friendly staff, and of course fantastic bread, cakes, and pastries! Baking is hard work, and these guys clearly love what they do.

Called for breakfast after a recommendation and was greeted by a young lady who was stressed and looking for help from her male colleague who was vile to her! He then served the wrong sandwich and just kept saying ‘well this is yours so…’ ! Limited drinks out front and the male refused to look if there were any in the back when we asked if they had anything further. Such a shame because the bread was amazing.

Called in for breakfast. Had one of the best bacon sandwiches ever. You can tell when food is made with love. Stayed for a second breakfast after my bacon sandwich, and had the recommended house toast. You toast it yourself at your table. Had the sour dough with lovely butter and a mug of tea. This place is amazing.

Fantastically fresh bread. We had popped in for pastries for breakfast and found they were so good we had to spoil ourselves and go again.

Well I can honestly say that the mushrooms on toast were the tastiest breakfast I have ever had. Popped in for breakfast and what a good choice that was. Small Bakehouse tucked away in the Baltic Triangle, known for its baked goods. But I have to say try their breakfast if you get the chance - small menu, but divine! A really lovely low key atmosphere - we need more places like this. 10 out of 10 for me!!

Ordered two vanilla milkshakes. When they came we both thought they just tasted like milk with some squirty cream on top. Absolutely no vanilla flavour at all. Was served in a narrow sundae glass so a very small portion, for £4.50 each. As we left we saw the man on the till making another one for another guest, there was no ice cream in sight and he just had a big can of cream. He was also very uninterested and monotone when ordering.

Visited for breakfast with friends. Excellent bacon, sausage and black pudding butty…delicious. Coffee was also very good. Great space and good range of pastries and bread to take out. Sourdough went down rather well with the tribe once we got home. Must visit when in Liverpool and worth the stroll from our hotel.

Visited here today (Saturday 10th) only to be greeted by the worst customer service the woman on the till is one of the rudest people I have ever come into contact with she has a highly stressed manner about her and a rude condescending tone when serving I have been served by her in the past and she is always the same. its a shame because the bread and cakes are delicious. I am not sure why management have allowed someone with such bad people skills to be front of house staff, I have also seen her cooking in the past but now looks as if she has moved to the front, I think she should move back to the kitchen. I won't be returning to this store until they give her some training on how to speak to people. I will be taking my custom to allerton road from now on, until things change here.

Visited this place on saturday as I was recommended to try by my son who goes to uni here, well what can I say considering we are still in a pandemic the level of cleanliness shown by the chef was below par and what I would say are hygiene standards. I watched the "chef" drop a kitchen utensil only to pick it up and carry on cooking, that was the first thing that made my stomach turn then I noticed that she was wearing a mask around her chin, and appeared to be wearing what I can only describe as overly worn unclean clothes with no apron or gloves. I understand this is a small place and the other kids the lady and young lad seemed to be doing a good job and I saw them both wearing masks and regularly sanitizing also the bread and pastry was delicious but I do think the chef needs to have some more training in food hygiene and health and safety procedures. Hope to return in the future when visiting my son, hopefully see a difference next time.

The pastries are always lovely and the bread is great too. However, the service as of late has left us feeling slightly uncomfortable. We have been served by the same member of staff the last three or four times we've been, and each time she's acted nonchalant, unwelcoming, and condescending. We want to support this small businesses and we can't fault the actual products, but we don't want to be made to feel uneasy. We get what it can be like sometimes dealing with the public, as veterans of retail we have solidarity and understanding towards workers in similar roles. But these unwelcoming interactions happening so often, consecutively, doesn't seem right. There's a level of understanding towards somebody having a bad day once or twice but it's just made us believe this is how we'll be spoken to every time we go.

Our family of 6 visited here for brekkie earlier this week. An all round awesome experience. AMAZING food....We had sausage and bacon butties, doughnuts and sourdough loaves (please don’t judge ) and it was some of the best food we’ve ever tasted. Mix that with delicious coffee and attentive and personable staff and we’ll definitely be returning.

We're regular visitors to the Baltic Bakehouse, and have always found the experience to be nothing short of excellent. The staff are always polite and are very patient whilst we decide which of the many treats we'd like that day. They even have our bread ready for us as we walk through the door. We always look forward to our weekly visit, and eagerly anticipate the day when we can dine in. Thank you to everyone at the Baltic Bakehouse for brightening up our week.

We had our weekly visit to the bakery to collect our bread and goodies. The staff were as pleasant and as helpful as they always are, Amy and Francesca were there with their usual cheery greeting. Thank you for keeping us stocked up throughout the lockdown . Would definitely recommend the Chelsea buns, yummy.

As always delicious blt my fav! Coffee and pear pastry which is totally worth a walk every time. Sourdough bread is like no other and in my opinion best in the world. As usual great banter with cheerful staff and look forward to next weeks visit! So lucky to have had Baltic throughout whole of last year showing commitment to making excellent everything!

Been coming here for 4/5 years now and the bread is amazing. I won’t say my favourite item as it’s tricky to get as it is- oh ok it’s the batch loaf! Amazing fresh and just as good toasted. The two female staff I usually deal with are ace! They help and smile and advise as well as managing the hungry and hangry customers really well. Big demand has led to bread disappointment and they’re always helpful. I’ve seen some very hangry people walk away breadless. Get organised so you don’t get disappointed! I’d also recommend the doughnuts, the bacon sandwich and very buttery croissants .....and of course the signature sourdough- which I now gift when my mates are feeling glum. Works a treat.A small but powerful delight of a place.

Lovely bakery in town and the bread is exceptionally good. Staff are very friendly and will go out of their way to help. I stupidly went to collect my order on the wrong day, but this wasn’t an issue and the staff sorted a replacement fresh order at no additional cost. Always a top service even during this very stressful time thank you

Over the past couple of years the Baltic Bakehouse has been one of the places I get excited to go to either to buy a yummy bread loaf or treat myself to a cup of coffee. Today Sunday morning I thought I'd introduce my partner to this 'special' place. My anticipation didn't match what unfolded. Got served the wrong coffee which I have kindly pointed out....we all make mistakes right, not a big deal ! From there everything went down hill. Coffee grabbed off my hand in a slight passive aggressive kinda way. Right coffee - with some kind of dirt all inside the cup - served with the same attitude. Milk was off. Waited 15 minutes for mushrooms on toast (see pictures) although no queue. The only edible food was the 4 slices of bread. The level of disrespect demonstrated in staff attitude, food quality and service really saddens me especially at this time when we all need cheering up. I lost £20 and what I thought to be a good address on my list. Grim experience really...New management perhaps?

BB is my fave! The bread is so squashy and delicious. Amy the chef makes everything amazingly, she cooks the bacon to perfection, no a speck of wobbly fat all crisped and mouth watering. The specials are also inventive especially the viatnamese style ban mi they had the other week, also the maple and bacon French toast. The pan au choc is the best I've eaten, better than Paris. Any is a babe always welcoming and friendly, so is Fran, so is shaved head front of house guy I don't know his name yet. Lovely team!

Hemos estado visitando Baltic Bakehouse todas las semanas desde hace bastante tiempo y siempre hemos estado encantados con la comida y el servicio que hemos recibido. El pan, los pasteles y otras delicias son siempre frescos y deliciosos, y el personal es muy amable y servicial, sin que nada sea un problema para ellos. Es muy satisfactorio marcharse con un pan todavía caliente del horno. En las ocasiones en que hemos comido, la comida ha sido increíble, con el Ultimate Grilled Cheese como un punto culminante en particular. Estoy ansioso por trabajar en todo el menú eventualmente. Gracias a Amy, Francesca y todos los demás en Bridgewater Street.

Vine aquí hoy (23/09/30 aproximadamente a las 12.30 pm) para pedirme un sándwich para el almuerzo después de mudarme recientemente a una oficina a la vuelta de la esquina. Entré a la puerta donde ahora pides comida y la camarera se acercó y me miró de arriba abajo con mucha presunción y me dijo que me pusiera una mascarilla a partir de mañana, estoy muy embarazada y me han dicho que está bien no usar una y que debes no ser desafiado por esto, me disculpé y torpemente tuve que pedir hacer mi pedido, luego le pregunté qué bebidas frías tenían y ella se golpeó la pierna con los brazos, resopló y luego señaló la tabla que no tenía la oportunidad para ver y leer antes de que ella viniera, dijo que dejaría la bebida (¡entonces no quería gastar más dinero allí!) y luego exigió "sólo dame 6.50 por eso, entonces". Qué increíblemente grosero y poco profesional. Pagué (sin contacto, por supuesto) y luego dijo "ve y espera afuera, alguien lo traerá cuando esté listo". No, por favor, no gracias por pagar, solo un tono mocoso y una mirada fija.Esperé afuera bajo la lluvia con ganas de llorar honestamente, nunca antes me habían hablado así. No regresaré, desearía haber podido decir que abandonara la orden, pero en el shock no lo hice, ya que odio la confrontación y no necesito poner a mi bebé bajo ningún estrés innecesario. Estoy tan decepcionada con el servicio, espero que la niña tenga algunas lecciones de servicio al cliente después de ver esto, la gente se siente lo suficientemente ansiosa en este clima actual sin que se le hable de esa manera.

Amazing bread, best French toast I have had. Powerful coffee which is excellent. Simple menus with quality produce. Friendly with relaxed and ambient atmosphere. Good sounds too.

No era mi primera vez aquí, era mi primera parada para desayunar, el sándwich de queso a la parrilla fue una revalorización, la combinación perfecta de comte y cheddar con cebollas finamente picadas, fue el paraíso. El personal, en particular la señorita de la caja registradora, fue muy servicial y considerada, ya que su producción fue limitada debido a que solo abrieron recientemente, después del cierre me aconsejaron que pre-ordenara el pan que quería para el día siguiente, y aunque había Los problemas con la producción habían dejado a un lado las alternativas de repuesto, para satisfacer mis deseos. Todo el pan, bollería y otros productos son geniales. Definitivamente uno de mis dos mejores lugares de masa madre artesanal en el Reino Unido. Una visita obligada si amas el pan y estás en Liverpool.

Escuché cosas buenas sobre la masa madre aquí, así que pensé en arriesgarme con los precios exorbitantes. Chico, estaban equivocados. Sabía como un viejo par de mis zapatos nans. El personal estaba demasiado preocupado charlando para sí mismos, no notaron la cola que se formó y nos dejaron esperando casi 10 minutos.El café era normal en el mejor de los casos, he tenido mejor en el spar local para ser honesto.En general, fue una experiencia decepcionante y los propietarios no parecen importarles.

Fui a la panadería con mi esposo y mi hija de 12 años. Compré una barra (¿el pan es INCREÍBLE?) Y tomé un café y una rosquilla de mermelada. Nos sentamos al sol y charlamos con el encantador personal. Recomendaría encarecidamente a cualquiera que pase por este lugar. X

Just travelled 4 miles for my sick neighbour to buy 2 sourdough loaves to be told bluntly they don't take cash which i totally understand but was not made aware of on the telephone, she reluctantly took the money with not even a smile or thank you, on leaving i said thank you again all I got was a scowl, I asked her what her problem was and why the attitude only to be told yeah whatever, I asked both bakers in the rear what her problem was they just shrugged there shoulders, I will never go there again whilst this ignoramus is there and will recommend my colleagues in Aintree hospital to do likewise, telling times for every1 at the moment cost's nothink to be polite hope the management act on this although I believe in giving my money to good local business i certainly will not be going here again.

Had very nice sourdough toasts there and excellent pear danish,coffee was delicious. Place pretty busy itself and love the look of it!

Caminamos hasta Baltic Bakehouse desde The Pullman Hotel, ya que no nos apetecía pagar los precios del desayuno Pullman. No nos decepcionó. Extravagante y único, con muchas opciones, pero optó por la tostada francesa con tocino rayado y jarabe de arce, delicioso. Definitivamente iré de nuevo. Excelente relación calidad-precio.

I come here quite regularly, everything I have tried is amazing. The sourdough and batch loaf are both gorgeous and you can pick your own off the shelf to take home. Always a massive selection of fresh pastries and cakes with some specials. Massive selections of local jams and even different peanut butters too. Love how there is a toaster on the tables so you can have your toast just how you like it. The best thing I've had though is the french toast with yoghurt and berry compote. It was AMAZING. The cheese and leek toastie is also lovely, but only if you're in the mood for a LOT of cheese; they do not skimp out!

Amazing food! I was shocked to how tasty it was and I will be coming back at some point. Just ashame it’s small.

We came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The place is tiny, and doesn't need many people in it to feel full. We had two sausage sandwiches with mushrooms, both of which were delicious, especially the mushroom. Value is great, and if you are in the market for fresh bread or cakes, this place is perfect. If you get chance, have a Cardamom Bun, simply delicious.

First visit to Liverpool and Baltic Bakehouse stood out amongst places to eat. We parked nearby so called in for a quick snack before visiting the Walker Gallery. Great coffee, friendly staff who were happy to suggest vegan friendly options.

Probablemente comí el mejor sándwich de tocino, el pan era tan suave y ligero en el medio con una costra agradable por fuera, el tocino (y una buena porción), estaba perfectamente preparado con la cantidad justa de partes crujientes y realmente sabroso . Fue tan bueno que tuve un segundo para llevar.Volveremos a probar otras opciones del menú.

Como hay una escasez real de lugares independientes para comer comida real en la ciudad, valió la pena salir de mi camino para encontrarla.Pensé que había un ambiente un poco extraño con el personal que inicialmente era desagradable, simplemente no eran muy amables, serviciales o entusiasmados con lo que estaban vendiendo.Tuve sopa que era muy buena y excelente relación calidad-precio. Compré un poco de masa madre para llevarme a casa y también algunos artículos más pequeños increíblemente sabrosos y bien hechos.Visitaría de nuevo, especialmente para comprar pan y demás para llevarme a casa.

If you like sourdough bread then there’s no place in Liverpool that does it better. Staff are fantastic and very knowledgeable. Plus once you go once and see the cake selection you’ll be back. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Someone had sent me a link to an online video about this place featuring the brother and sister owners, and when Liverpool appeared on our itinerary around the UK, my wife and I had to visit and get some bread. The loaf I purchased was superb bread. A good strong bake with great caramelization on the crust and a wonderful tasty crumb. If you are a fan of fine bread and talented bakers, be sure to stop by.

We walked a long way to this bakery and it was worth it as the doughnuts were incredible! Great service from the staff!

I often pop into the bakery to grab one of their legendary sourdough loaves and no matter how hard I try not to, always end up buying a couple of cakes, usually the special doughnuts or Danish pastries, that don’t even make it home as they are munched in the car. Friendly and witty folks behind the counter. Great place!

We always call in here after checking in at the Campanile just over the road. We love the fresh bread and especially the breakfast sausage butties. Crispy outer crust with a crumpet-like sponginess to the middle. Great sausages too, probably locally sourced. You can see the bread being made and proved in a raised area at the back.

We found this place on a Liverpool-related website and went there for breakfast.

Had a bacon sausage and cheese butty from here today. Have to say it's one of the nicest I've ever had every element was superb. The bread was to die for and the sausage and bacon was of superior quality. I will definitely be back, not the cheapest around but it's worth the extra for such good ingredients.

My wife and I were in Liverpool for 4 days, we had breakfast in here for three of them, and the only reason we didn't return on the fourth day was our train back to Wales was leaving early this morning before it opened.

Really nice place located in the Baltic Triangle. The pastries are really nice and freshly baked plus you can try their own peanut butter, jams etc. Nice for a breakfast/brunch, there are some lunch options available too. One tip: the portions are quite big.

I visited just to buy bread but really wished I had come with time to eat. The menu looked wonderful! The staff were really friendly. I guess I’ll have to come back!

When I crave proper bread this is where I get my fix from, absolutely amazing and delicious. I normally get the sourdough bread but their sandwiches at the cafe are also pretty good.

Baltic Bakehouse does a bit of everything. Speciality freshly made sourdough bread plus other types, cakes, pastries. Food service and great coffee. All good.

So super is the bread here and quite a broad selection. The Honey and Wheatgerm Loaf ..... FAB.

Such a selection of breads, and tasty meals. water is served in milk bottles. Scrubbed wooden tables. Lovely friendly service. Bakery products to die for. Great place.

We visited the Baltic Bakery whilst visiting Liverpool for the weekend. We just wanted some lunch and read the good reviews for this bakery. Unfortunately we arrived at about 3pm so all the sweet goods had sold. However the sandwiches we ordered were so delicious, I can honestly say it was the best sandwich I've ever eaten! I'm gutted I am not local to Liverpool so probably won't get to visit again. This bakery is a little gem!

After we put down our luggage at the hotel we searched for something to eat. TripAdvisor showed us this venue nearby. Had some great sandwiches and a good cup of coffee. The bread they make is full of flavour, very thick slices of bread.

We visited as a family of 5. BLT on sourdough was awesome, as was the soup. Staff really friendly. Kids loved what they had (sourdough toast, halloumi, croissants...). Took home 3 loaves, and lots of cakes.... inclusive of a big box of pastries free of charge, provided by one of the lovely staff as they were closing up soon!

Worth a trip to this lovely little bakery.

They do the best bread here - we’ve bought from here before and yesterday we arrived late and but they still a quarter of a large continental style crusted loaf - sort of a mixture between a rye bread and a sour dough - the flavour and texture are ridiculously like the best bread you’ve ever eaten - honest , tasty with a real chewy centre and very dark crusty skin

Never eaten goose before but will be back soon for another. Lovely bread, crisp lettuce and the goose was amazing

Tuvimos un fantástico almuerzo aquí. El pan es todo pan casero, ¡y qué diferencia hace! Es muy difícil encontrar lugares que usen Pan Real, y como siempre horneamos nuestro propio pan, intentamos buscar lo mismo cuando comemos fuera.

Ambiente informale, cibo naturale e tante varietà di brioche mattutine e the oltre che colazioni british servite da personale gentile fanno di questo posto, frequentato da molti abitanti del luogo, un locale da non mancare per una buona colazione. In più potrete portarvi a casa un ottimo pane!

Paré aquí por primera vez el 31. 3. 19. Servicio excelente. El desayuno era muy bueno. Pagamos un poco más que otros lugares, pero vale la pena. Tienes lo que pagas. El tocino y las salchichas eran de primera categoría. Los champiñones eran gordos y carnosos. La tostada es su propia masa madre. Excelente pan Compré un pan al igual que muchas otras personas. Y para colmo todo. . . tienen marmite! Muchos lugares ni siquiera tienen mermelada. Y podríamos llevar al perro al patio exterior. Mi agradecimiento a los cocineros.

Gasté 5 en 'último queso a la parrilla' que dice que contiene puerros y compota. Era solo un tostado increíblemente grasiento con demasiado queso y lo guardé después de unos cuantos bocados. decepcionante.

It's not on the main drag, but it is worth seeking out. This unassuming, small but perfectly formed bakehouse offers takeaway and eat-in delights. We ate breakfast here and found the Haloumi L Ts (not BLT!) on sour dough bread a delight!

Can just see the love and care that’s gone into this place. Fantastic bread - fresh baked this morning. Best sausage butter ever. With sourdough and portobello mushrooms. Great coffee and friendly, professional service. Coukdn’t resist a few things to take home too. Loved it!

Ordered a breakfast and coffee. Waited ages. So they refunded coffee. Then I discover the staff hadn't taken for my breakfast. Waited an hour. Granted it is a Saturday. But the staff member who dealt with me did not know what he was doing. Tried to tell me it was my fault because he didn't hear what I was saying. Awful

I remember when they just sold bread and some basic bakery products.

The same delicious, home made, good value food and drink in this friendly welcoming cafe with lovely staff. We always call in for lunch when we've trawled the Allerton charity shops. It never disappoints. Highly recommended.

I tried this place with the recommendation from my friend. First and foremost, the owner and the staff have a dispicable attitude and display no customer service skills at all. They were unwelcoming, rude, abrupt, arrogant.... to name but a few. We were only asking questions about the food on the menu! wow! Must have thought we were being insulting, when in reality we where just being inquisitive to help us choose what to order (and we did also have to ask for fresh bread, twice).

I visited this place with my son after he finished primary school. After we had eaten, I asked my son to return the salt and pepper to the counter. My son accidentally turned the top of the pepper pot and was shouted at very aggressively by the owner. My son was very upset and embarrassed. I approached the owner and said that I don’t think he needed to be so abrupt as it was done accidentally. He said my son was a cheeky boy and he will tell off who ever wants, and if kids need shouting at them he will shout at them! HIS ACTUAL WORDS WERE - ITS MY SHOP I WILL DO WHAT I WANT AND YOUR CHILD NEEDS SHOUTING AT SO I WILL SHOUT AT HIM! I told him he will do no such thing. I was blown away by his attitude and warn any other parents not to take their children in here. The food is probably 3 out of 10, though edible. The service, which was displayed by the owner himself is absolutely appalling. Obviously if he treats his customers this way he must also allow all staff as a rule. I expect my sons father would want a conversation with the owner. Our son has learning difficulties, which I explained to the owner - his reply was ‘I will shout at whoever needs to be shouted at in my shop’. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!!!!!!!!!!

if you love sour-dough, this is the place for you. easy to miss the establishment as you walk by - glad i was keeping an eye out for it. mushrooms on toast for breakfast - yum, but by the time i left i'd returned to the counter 3 times - mince pies, bread, croissants. all were perfect. shame we don't live nearer.

We visited on a Sunday for breakfast after following the bakery for ages on social media, and weren’t disappointed.

The tucked away location and simple interior makes it an authentic spot to unwind and smell it being baked right in front of you. The door never stopped opening whilst I was there so it's clearly popular. Although the choice of the pastries and cakes was quite small I appreciate this is probably to focus on getting the quality right, which it did. Had hoped to try the famous 'Cruffins' but none available. Had the Brownie Doughnut which was very good and generously filled. Another flat caramel-glazed pastry (forget the name) was really tasty too. Pricing was reasonable and service friendly enough. Wanted to try more of the stuff. Would definitely visit again.

It is getting more difficult to park nearby, but is still free, which is good.

What a bakery. Just outside the city and well worth finding. Bowl of cornflakes doughnuts were fantastic

We ate breakfast here on a Friday morning. It's fairly busy so we had to share a table, which is not at all surprising given the delicious breakfasts! I had mushrooms on toast, a massive portion of perfectly cooked and seasoned sliced large open-cap mushrooms, served on several rounds of toasted sourdough bread. My friend had a cheese toastie, and loved it (and also his coffee, which came in a cafetière with timer and instructions not to depress the plunger until the timer was done, and the coffee properly brewed!) He loved it!

Very good place for a snack . The independence element is most refreshing and the Bakery aspects , Bread , cakes etc were spot on. Tables cosy and staff very pleasant . Definitely a return visit for sure.

Popped in for some cakes. They are amazing so good!!! Didn’t order any food but it looked tasty. Lovely friendly atmosphere will definitely come back as the menu was really inviting. Hidden little gem.

Húmedo y frío entramos para comer algo. Limpie la panadería bien presentada con mesas y sillas. Diseño espacioso y bien pensado. El servicio fue amable y servicial. Nuestra comida llegó, hermosamente arreglada en plato. Y muy sabroso. . . . las porciones son de buen tamaño, el pan era encantador. y en cuanto al brownie de chocolate, ¡delicioso!

The Bakehouse had a wide variety of bread and toasted to how you liked it. It came with butter, peanut butter and marmite.

Estábamos a 5 minutos a pie de aquí y no podía resistirse a su café de la mañana. Pedimos tostadas con e hizo pedir una porción cada uno la fo mostake. Dos puertas del genealogista llegamos a cada uno de nosotros a lo largo de los platos de mantequilla. Otras personas estaban comiendo tocino butties en masa madre (4 libras. 50) y hongos en tostadas de masa fermentada (4 libras. 50), venden el pan, junto con una variedad de otros tipos, y todo el lugar huele como una panadería. Su excelente, particularmente si quieres porciones grandes.

Came for lunch at Baltic Bakehouse by chance - wow. The best grilled cheese I have ever had, very good value for money. The homemade soup was also great, and the bread it was served with was delicious. Would strongly recommend.

For great coffee, friendly service, really tasty food and scrummy bread to take home plus the ladies’ loo is called Mabel!

Love the sourdough, looks so good, though it could do with a little more pronounced flavour. Surprising, given the French flour and passion that the bakers seemed to have for their work. The baguettes are good, and the pastries are dependable. Loved this place from the first time we visited. The coffee is good too.

My hubby and I had lunch here on Saturday, we had bacon on toast, we both agreed it was the best bacon on toast we have had ever had. We can’t wait to go back again for breakfast and to buy some bread and Doughnuts.
