Amazing place and location. Also kind people and great coffee. I cannot wait to return. The food of course was top notch.

Great Atmosphere but not the best food, in my opinion.

Fish cake missing fish. Green salad with no dressing at all. Beef borginion more like beef stew. Great views.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bistrot Pierre in Eastbourne for lunch, and I must say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The customer service was exceptional - the staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made great recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was top-notch. Can you imagine this being a restaurant by the seaside in the British winter? The blue sea and blue sky are so beautiful that I don’t feel like I’m in the UK anymore, it feels like Los Angeles or Australia… From a distance, you can see white cliffs standing on the seaside. You can dine in this restaurant, including brunch, dinner, and afternoon tea. If you don’t have a reservation to walk in, it is recommended to go early for meals. The restaurant business is quite good. When there are many people, you need to queue up. The view location may need to be reserved in advance. The sun shines into the restaurant, making it warm, and the blue sea outside makes me willing to come back next time just for this view. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows can be opened in the summer, and there is a row of seats on the terrace where you can sit outside when the weather is warm. There is also an outdoor area on the side where you can also see the sea. It is windy this season, but there are also foreigners drinking outside in this weather. Overall, the food is pretty good. If you don't want to eat, just go for afternoon tea and coffee☕️ or have a drink.

Probably the best in town in regards to location. But you are paying a pretty price for the privilege. Food is good, the service is a little lax, though the staff are working hard.

It's such a pity the service is almost comically slow. It appears to a systematic and has been so since it opened a few years ago. There are always people 'meerkatting' for service and indeed to pay. You could call it relaxed and it would appear that the staff have been told they mustn't rush and get over-hyped, but it is quite annoying when you've been waiting 10+ minutes to give your order or to receive your drinks. It disincentivizes you to order a second drink, or indeed food. The deliberate, systematic ineptitude is also illustrated by the control of menu's at the entry. You queue to be allocated a table but if you say you only want a drink, you can go sit anywhere. Furthermore you're then given a drinks-only menu so you don't get to know about the (delicious) snacks like croquettes. It's such a shame because it's a great location, reasonably priced and the staff are pleasant - just made to work a defective system

Up on our arrival, we were told that they were fully booked and were only offered tables by the entrance, whilst there were plenty of free tables available until the min we left. Also, I was expecting a midrange at least food quality, buy to my surprise I ordered the pasta, when It arrived, it was like a ball of Chinese sticky rice, asked for parmigiana cheese and was told did not have it at all... My wife ordered the stake, when arrived it was so rubbery and almost uncooked We only came for a short gwt away weekend but so disappointed with the entire restaurant. This was recommended by the hotel reception. We ended up going back to the hotel and since it was past 9pm every other place was closed. Ordered some pizza to offset the bad experience. Sorry, but that is how I honestly felt about this place.

Soup excellent. The Maple Roasted Butternut Squash was awful. It was literally half a lump of half cooked butternut squash topped with the minimal amount of mixed grains invisible roasted chickpea, pomegranate, grenolata the smallest drip of yoghurt, minus the houmous? Ate some left the rest. We were served ahead of several large tables still waiting to be served- We skipped dessert and coffee and returned to our hotel. Our evening largely spoilt. Beware!

On the arrival, they said they didn’t have a table by ocean view and sat us by the entrance, but those tables were free all night. The food was the worst I have ever had. Pasta was like sticky rice, and the steak was almost uncooked and chewy, lowest quality meat. However, the waiter and waitress were nice and friendly, gave us a good service. We came all the way from London, but didn’t have good experience, ended up ordering pizza at the end of the night.

We had high hope for the restaurant. We booked for date night and had been walking past and stopped for drinks in the afternoon. The food we saw looked good and smelt amazing. When we arrived for dinner it wasnt overly busy but it took over 20mins to order food, our first choices weren't available at 6.30 and when the food arrived it was luke warm and what was supposed to be honey glazed pork was more like honey glazed mustard. I could not taste the pork for the coarse grain mustard spread all over it, the dauphinoise potatoes only tasted of Herb de Provence, could not taste anything else. We may have just been unlucky this time, so will go back again and see.

Pete's café had an amazing view, that's about it...3pm Thurs arvo, they had one slice of coffee cake left...weak cake game so won't be returning. Don't be offering dayold pastries too, when it comes to cake....man don't play games... we didn't stay after finding out.

We had stopped for a drink on the open-air terrace by the sea out of the wind. Excelente!

Treated ourselves to afternoon tea which was beautifully presented and served. Good quality sandwiches and cakes. Large portion - glad we did not have any lunch! Quite busy for a chilly Thursday afternoon. We will certainly return for lunch or breakfast.

Bistrot Pierre in Eastbourne is a bit of a mixed bag. The food is nothing to write home about – pretty average and definitely overpriced. But hey, credit where it's due – the service is top-notch. The matre'd really pulled some strings to squeeze our gang of five in on a busy Saturday afternoon, even though we hadn't made a booking. Plus, you can't argue with the location. Situated by the water, the view is pretty sweet, especially when the sun's out. So, if you're up for a tolerable meal with great service and a killer view, this spot might just hit the spot.

Very nice pre theatre meal but we ordered a baked Camembert starter - very small but 2 of the smallest slices of French bread to go with it - as we had already paid because we were in a hurry and then asked for a slice or 2 more bread we were told it would be an extra 50p and whilst that is not exactly going to break the bank and we said that was fine (the manager did say later they’d take it off and not to worry) it just wasn’t right to charge extra when they was patently not enough bread for the cheese however much we tried to pile it on!

What a difference a few hours makes ! Popped in for the first time late morning - service, staff and drinks were superb. Decided to go back for dinner and was sadly disappointed. Staff, or lack of them, took 20 minutes to get to our table, even though it was not busy. No drinks offered, just what we wanted food wise. Not enamored by the pork which was over dressed with too much mustard (personal choice, I know) but we had already been told there were no more chicken dishes available ! Double vodka and cranberry tasted like cranberry ?? Nightmare trying to change green beans for broccoli !! You couldn't make it up really. Daytime great, evening not so much 😔

A lovely spot by the coast with a nice view overlooking the sea. Perfect for group get togethers as the menu has a variety of options to suit all tastes. Service was friendly and attentive and overall good experience.

Arranged to meet friends from London here as it is beautifully placed to look out over the sea. The service by Alekssandra and the view were excellent. However the battered fish was awful. Mostly batter ( and inside slightly undercooked) and very little fish. Desserts were divine however.I recommend the creme brulèe.

Came for lunch and the food was fine, but I had already eaten half of my fish before they brought the tartare sauce out, and my friend asked if she could substitute one vegetable for a different one in her meal and was told no, unless she paid another £4.75 for it. When I pointed out to the waitress that it probably meant she would never go back, all I got was a shrug. My friend is local, and she took me there for lunch, but she won't be taking any of her other friends there, especially since they really don't seem to care if the customers have a nice experience, or a simple dietary request can't be catered for. We had a nice view of the sea, and the overall experience was average, but not spectacular.

Very nice lunch with my sister on Wednesday. The food was really tasty. Even though the place was almost fully booked the staff were all friendly, despite being rushed. Would definitely come again next time I'm in Eastbourne.

Manager said we are not a dog friendly establishment where as on all the web site it says they are I’ve ate here before and it’s nothing special

Very good breakfast choices but just a shame they won't allow substitute items on the full English breakfast.

My Family and I travelled down from East Grinstead to try this ocean view restaurant and had a really lovely time. The food was great, reasonably priced and really tasty. The Food came out swiftly and to really put the cherry on top our waitress Ellie or “Ells” as she said was extremely attentive and bubbly. She was great with my kids too. Thanks Ells! Definitely try this place out if you get a chance.

Very nice place by the seaside with a great view to enjoy lunch and plenty of special offers. I would say that to improve, they should replace the water tumblers as they are looking pretty scratched and worn and the serving staff should be briefed of the specials of the day. But overall very pleasant place.

Was very cold due to doors being left open. When customer closed door, the staff opened it again. Also was refused table to eat because had not precooked even though majority of dining tables were empty. We were told to move to the bar area & the dining tables remained empty the whole time we were there? Meaning we could easily have had a dining table to eat at. But because had not precooked they lied saying no tables available when there obviously was! So for reasons above I will not be returning here. Although I have been told the food is very nice.

Generally ok. Really ought to accept cash though. Oh, and turn the music volume down.

Booked a table for my wife & Into go here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and was massively let down. When i called and booked the table i said it was a special night so could we please get a nice window table and there was no note of this when we got there or window table available. staff weren’t friendly at all just did the basic requirement. when seated i asked for bottle of champagne and was told they didn’t have any. asked for pressecco and they only had rosa one available. ended up getting cocktails and the server had no knowledge of any of them. I ordered the steak cooked medium and my wife ordered the fish cake. my wife’s meal was so small in portion and my steak and salad was absolutely awful. steak was so rear it wasn’t even warm and salad look like it came out of a bag and was on the turn. The whole experience turned what was meant to be a lovely night out in to a massive disappointment. Oh the table was so wobbly also and when i told the server they said did we want her to get something to stick under the leg. Will not be going back again.

After a 6mile walk up the Seven Sisters Cliff this place was a wonderful meal. Ordered their home made Beer Bistrot Pierre 94 which was great along with Calamari. The Pork Medallions was ideal lunch and the kids loved Poulet Roti. Overall a great place to have lunch with a view.

Surprise birthday afternoon tea experience. The reception and service by staff was polite, professional and welcoming. The afternoon tea had a wonderful selection of deep filled sandwiches, scones, savouries, cakes and mini eton mess all with a choice of beverage. All set with breathtaking views of Eastbourne seafront, Western lawn gardens and the historic Wish Tower. Great company and gift.

Very good service and modern setting with a beautiful view. The food was ok, like a low to mid market gastropub.

Ripped off. "Classic mojito" glass 3/4 full of ice. 10% service charge added to the bill. Don't bother with this place.

The restaurant smells like the ovens need a good clean! Greasy old oil smell which gets in your clothes/hair. Even when walking past on the seafront you can smell it! The food itself is okay and fairly good for the money- especially if you have the app. Service is good once you’ve got a server- can take a while if they are busy. I would be interested in seeing the most recent hygiene rating as they’ve not had one for a year. The building itself is gorgeous and nicely located, they should do more with the outside seating/bar area and tables overlooking the sea.

Lovely meal, good service and staff were fine with me dining solo on a Friday night. Enjoyed looking at the sea and reading my book.

They got the best atmosphere here but the food was social and the stuffs are always busy without keep an eye on customers.

I reserved a window table four weeks before our visit but they do not put a reserved signs on the tables so we had to sit near the bar, what is the point of asking you if you have a preference ?. My wife is coeliac I had told them this when I booked but they did not acknowledge this and we had to ask to check on everything to avoid her being UNWELL.

Our favourite restaurant in Eastbourne! Delicious food, friendly staff and fabulous views. What's not to like?! We had a fabulous and very enjoyable Mother's Day lunch with the family. We were served by Deb who was lovely.

Outstanding view and decent food. We were there on a sunny Sunday, and the sea view was quite something. We opted for a two course lunch menu. We asked to swap the new potatoes in the fish cake niçoise for chips and were told it wasn't possible and we needed to buy those a a supplement. The potatoes were described as buttered new potatoes, not quite how I would describe them and there probably were only 3 small potatoes cut up but the rest was tasty and we asked for extra dressing, that was no problem. The crème brûlée was stunning. The service was good. So in all a decent meal. Can't beat the view so would definitely go back.

We had a lovely lunch here today, celebrating my partner's birthday. I must especially compliment the service which was exceptional. Our waitress went out of her way to accommodate my dietary requirements - I'm on a 5 day "w.hite diet" before an unpkeasant medical procedure next Tuesday! (TMI) Aftrr family farewells, my partner and I decided to go back inside and have coffee on the decking outdoors overlooking the sea and setting sun. Perfect.

I would highly recommend. The service was great from start to end and the food was amazing . We came on 9th march at 3pm . Massive shout out to the chefs and the waiters and waitress . Special shout out to balazs the Waiter who really tried to help us get a table with a better view and was great with customer service . Thank you very much we will return .

Main course was terrible sea bass over cooked so much, so were the prawns making them very tough also very expensive want be going back.

So the location is great and interior is nice. When entering the sign asked us to wait to be seated. We waited and waited and eventually decided to take the initiative and find someone to show us to a seat. We only wanted to share a drink. We had one pint of Camden Hells. I saw it poured and then once again we waited and waited for it to be brought to our table. By the time it arrived the head had dissolved and it was literally plonked on our table like a drive-by drug deal. The price being £7.15. You don’t pay that in London. Disappointing.

Popped in for a coffee about an hour ago . Warm welcome from staff . Served lovely hot coffee , so many places serve it lukewarm so this was a pleasure . My husband sadly had the last piece of cake so I had a pastry , bit were fresh and tasty . Sat by a window with the sun shining in . A very pleasant relaxing visit . In Eastbourne for a couple of days and planning to return for cocktails .

Very lovely experience - every requirement fulfilled.

Food very overpriced, service late pm was poor even though restaurant not overly busy. Latte coffee requested was same as Cappuccino without the chocolate sprinkle, when queried member of staff tried to explain the difference … like it was my first ever coffee, and another said “we don’t have any glasses to serve latte coffee in”. Light snack of poached and smoked salmon with lambs lettuce (two tiny twists) was overpriced, barely more than two dessert spoonfuls. Won’t be eating there again, or recommending. Shame it used to be a favourite place.

We regularly use Bistrot Pierre and always like their food and coffee. Today sadly, we couldn't stay as it was too cold outside to sit with our small dog. It would be great if you could have a small area inside for the many dog owners who like to visit you. This could be separate to the area other visitors use. The manager was charming as usual, but it is a missed opportunity.

Was looking forward to my visit to Bistro Pierre. The restaurant is in nice location and lovely decor. The staff are friendly and welcoming and very attentive. We ordered the stake and fish cake and the food came out looking great and nicely presented. However, we weren’t blown away by how tasty it was or rather wasn’t. It was nice but it wasn’t WOW! Would I be coming back again for more? Probably not… might come for drinks but probably not the food. Worth trying though.

On a nice day you can see for miles, on a misty day very atmospheric. Seated straight away for lunch, carafe of water brought out without asking- so no pressure on us non-drinkers. Steak frites was great and the tart au citron a great way to finish. If we lived closer we'd visit more often- it was clear from the conversations around us that many of the customers are regulars- always a good sign.

Nice for a drink in the sunshine on the terrace . Dog friendly You do get a service charge just for drinks. I wasn't even given the chance to remove it by the lady server. Hence only 3 stars.

We popped in to look for accommodation for our next trip. Incredibly accessible with a purpose built ramp and received a warm welcome. They were kind enough to charge my mobility scooter whilst we sat in the very comfortable and tastefully decorated lounge area overlooking the sea with a hot, hot chocolate and coffee which were served by the helpful barista staff. Toilets lovely and clean. Will definitely stay in future.

Lovely setting, waiting staff were friendly and helpful. Upon arriving and when paying we found the manager/maitre'd to be dismissive and slightly rude. Unfortunately the food was cold. Will probably avoid in the future.

A wondrous location, reaching out across the beach with Beachy Head in the distance. French-inspired food is delicious. Service is courteous and prompt .... and they kindly looked after a laptop that we inadvertently left the day before. Couldn't be bettered.

We went to Bistro Pierre today to celebrate our daughters birthday. What a wonderful place. The food was fantastic and the staff were amazing. I think our waitress was called Zee?? She was so good, really friendly and helpful.

We were in a bit of a rush so I paid for a couple of quick coffees at the till. Was later surprised to see I'd paid a 10% service charge, without it being mentioned. That's a bit cheeky and has put me off going back, especially with so many other nice eateries around needing the business.

Always great food and lovely views. Service is usually good, although can sometimes be a little hit and miss. Atmosphere can be affected by loud tables nearby. Still good enough that we often book a table. UPDATE: When for valentine's day. Menu had a good selection of choices across 3 courses and a glass of fizz thrown in. All-in-all a nice meal for £38/head.

Visiting the restaurant before has been good, unfortunately this time given my wife has an intolerance to onions and challots, which the restaurant had been informed about on booking a table where unable to offer any meals on the menu with the waiter walking away....

Oh dear!!!!! Waitress couldn’t be bothered, expecting better! Menu on line not available and wine ordered didn’t arrive cos they lost the ticket! Very poor all round I’m afraid!!!! Looked like we were in for a treat but sadly lacking.

Bistrot Pierre is located on a beautiful beach 🏖️ alley with awesome sea view 🌅.As it's so busy place would be good idea to pre book a table ,as we did ,to avoid any disappointments.Great place to visit for breakfast,brunch,lunch coffee break or dinner -personal choise😉.We choose to have lovely breakfast and enjoy the full sunshine 🌞there.We were lucky with the weather 😉.The food was great 👌and the art coffee was perfect 🤤.I must admit we had great time all in all ! Bistrot Pierre is great place to visit ,I would highly recommend it.
