Un muy buen bistec Bavette y patatas fritas regado con un agradable tinto de la casa. El menú en el sitio Opentable está muy desactualizado y el menú en línea de Caf Tartine no está actualizado. Lo único que no me gusta es un cargo por servicio automático agregado a la factura, mientras que prefiero dar una propina de acuerdo con mi satisfacción general.

If you are ever down the shore please check this place out. It’s warm, friendly, reasonably priced with a good selection of wine and food. Can’t for it to reopen. The service in here is also fantastic.

Our meal was excellent and the servers were very attentive. The salmon tartare was very flavorful as our starter. We had the ribeye and the sea bass as our main course and both were delicious. Highly recommend.

The staff were friendly and helpful, service was efficient and the food was excellent.

Another lovely meal. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. The French onion soup and turkey burger with homemade flat bread were delicious. Unfortunately, we were both far too full to have a dessert but maybe next time :)

Brilliant breakfast (home-made baked beans and a pot of tea which gives two mug fulls), friendly attentive staff and lovely surroundings .

Leith is not short of good options for eating and I don’t end up here often but when I do I wonder why I dont go more often.Staff are mega friendly and efficient and emphasis is on good french style comfort food.usually end up with crepes beautifully made .nice place to relax

Visited this place for Valentine's night with my partner. The restaurant is very clean and the setting was lovely and personal. The servers were attentive and on point. Service was sharp and the food was excellent. Had prawns pil pil to start then the steak with peppercorn sauce and French fries. Washed it all down with a Kir Royale and a bottle of rosé wine. It was excellent. Would definitely go back and would reccomend this restaurant to anyone wanting a good meal without spending an absolute fortune. Keep up the good work!

I like eating in the conservatory area when it is a quieter time of day. The service was attentive without being intrusive. My friend loved her impressive pancake for pudding. We all enjoyed our good choices.

On a blustery February evening, we were warmly welcomed at Cafe Tartine. On a night when the weather affected attendance, my husband and I had the undivided attention of the wait-staff and two chefs! We started with a quiche starter and pork rillettes - very moreish. For main course we had a lovely, tasty risotto and a rich, indulgent boeuf bourginon. We finished with a traditional crepe soaked in lemon which was the main reason for booking in the first place. As if that wasn’t enough, we were presented with some chocolate and hazelnut cake that we kept to have with coffee on our train journey home the next day. All in all we had a great evening with lovely food, friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back...soon. Thanks all!

La déco et le cadre sont très agréable, le service et gentils, certains serveurs parlent même français. Nous nous y sommes arrêtés pour le temps d’un goûter, les crêpes étaient excellentes, le chocolat chaud et le jus d’orange tout autant !

Estaba en Escocia celebrando mi cumpleaños con mi esposo, nos llevaron al café tartine el viernes con el resto de nuestro entrenador. Tuvimos una comida fabulosa. Sopa para comenzar, pollo para nuestro plato principal y un delicioso postre, la comida se incluyó en nuestro viaje, pero se nos pide que demos dinero en efectivo en cada lugar donde comemos como propina para el personal, estaba feliz de abligir pero hacia el final de mi comida ¿Escuché al personal discutir que los propietarios se quedan con la propina en efectivo? Este es un comportamiento vergonzoso, seguramente ganan suficiente dinero en las comidas que sirven para no tomar lo que yo creía que iba al personal. ¡Si hubiera sabido que ut estaba siendo utilizado para llenar los bolsillos de los propietarios, me habría negado! ¡También abordaré esto directamente con Globus, ya que odio pensar que estarían al tanto de este robo!

Heading home from an abortive shopping trip, decided that coffee was in order as we passed Leith. Parking always difficult on weekdays, but spot across the road from Cafe Tartine was there, and it looked a suitable coffee stop. Pleasant ambience with range of seating for groups large and small at tables and sofas. We went for comfort. Persuaded to try a crepe - went traditional with lemon and sugar and very good it was too. One of the best I have had for a long time. Flat white coffee was excellent too; mild but strong. Excellent service. Attentive and quick. Food choices look interesting. I will be back to try more.

My cousin his wife &amp; dog arrived from England very unexpected. So trying to find a dog-friendly restaurant was tough but I remembered Cafe Tartine when it first opened. The food was fantastic especially the fish dishes &amp; the desserts were beautiful.<br />Toby the dog was relaxed under the table with his treats I had brought &amp; bowl of water from staff. I can’t remember the gentleman that serviced us but he was fab. Nothing was too much trouble. I have recommended it to all my friends with dogs as well as all my other friends &amp; family.

I came here with a group on a trip and there was a specific menu to choose from.First of all the decor is so charming! I love the look of the deep blue/grey alcoves and stark white walls along with the mismatched country wood furniture that somehow fit together just perfectly. Secondly, the staff was top notch. Everyone was terribly polite, attentive and accommodating, I have severe food allergies- they put me right at ease and ensured whatever I chose would be made with great care. Lastly, the food was to die for! I had the salmon tartare on a bed of lettuce with a lemon and dill drizzle. It was not overpowering at all, the mix was just right. My entree was the veal stew on a bed of basmati rice and I almost licked the plate. The veal was so tender it almost melted. Finally, I had the rice pudding, not too sweet with a very tasty raspberry reduction. If I were local this would make my top three go-to places. In fact, I wanted to buy one of their adorable mugs adorned with their logo so I could sip coffee at work and pretend I was on their patio but they don't sell them. (Y'all should rethink that). I honestly almost stole one but I kept it classy, folks.Dine here, you won't regret it.

We met to exchange presents and catch up. Our waiter was attentive and helpful with a smile. The food was delicious, it usually is. And our table was quiet enough for us to talk freely. A relaxing and enjoyable couple of hours. Thank you.

We popped in for dinner on Saturday night and had what I can only describe, as our best dining experience of 2019.

This is next door to an incredibly expensive other place which was full. We dropped in for lunch and were not dissappointed. Lots of seating, quiet and pleasant ambience. Interesting and electic menu. I was less adventurous and had the fish and chips which was a lovely piece of cod. My friend had a pastrami and emmental sourdough bun. He enjoyed it too! It was not expensive, especially for the location which has become quite trendy. We were happy. Can't say more.

Enjoyed a really lovely, delicious lunch. The sourdough rueben was a special and really tasty. So was the steak and mushrooms sandwich. We also enjoyed delicious crepe with Belgian chocolate. Yummy

Lovely food in a very relaxed but smart atmosphere with great service( my wife had a cold and the waitress brought her tea with honey and lemon ). Also- free soft drink refills which are normal in the U.S. but almost unheard of here .

I absolutely loved Tartine. Love the ambience, love that is dog friendly and the food is delightful. The service was quite slow. However, the waiters were lovely and it is that time of year so we were not upset at all.

Went for lunch with my mum and partner and ordered the fish and chips and the salad with chicken and bacon with a bottle of Chardonnay to drink.

Very pleasant staff. It was lovely to be in the conservatory and enjoy the light but a bit cold. The interior area is atmospheric but a bit dark for brunch. Food is good, interesting menu. Ok pricing.

Great dinner. Food very good. <br />Unfortunately restaurant was almost empty apart from our big group so ambiance not great! <br />Also the staff started cleaning the floor with disinfectant before we had finished about 10pm which didn’t go down well!

We planned to spend a pleasant afternoon dining along with our two very precious furry friends. This is exactly what we got at Cafe Tartine not only were we welcomed but our Westies were too. Great service professional and attentive and a nice selection of meals to choose from. You are not rushed and whatever you require they will do their upmost to cater for you. Great prices too would recommend people to give it a try, many thanks to all the staff for a very nice afternoon

We popped in for a quick drink and when we saw what was being served to diners. we decided to try the food for ourselves. So glad we did the food and service was fantastic.

Not the first visit for us and soo much better than the last one, which was probably a couple of years ago. Much cheerier service (lovely staff, actually) and very good value for money. Huge servings (particularly the burger). Excellent access for my mum, who uses a walker for mobility issues. We’ll not leave it 2 years till our next visit.

Great food and service even though we booked mid afternoon

We visited for lunch. The menu was interesting with plenty of options for all appetites, including a children's menu. The food was really good and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Thoroughly recommended.

We were staying at Fingal in Leith to celebrate our wedding anniversary. we went to Cafe Tartine for our evening meal. atmosphere was very good as was the food and service.

Vi ankommer 9 personer, og bestiller 5 eller 6 forskellige retter, vente tiden syntes ikke længere af den grund. Men hvilket lækkert måltid, jeg fik hel kyllingbryst med groft skåret grønsager og kartofler i en smagsfuld sky. Top karakter.

Visité para cenar un sábado por la noche. El restaurante es bastante agradable, poco iluminado y acogedor. Nos sentamos en el conservatorio, lo cual fue agradable, excepto cuando los taxis aparecieron para recoger gente y se sentaron enfrente con sus faros brillando directamente en nuestras caras como una especie de interrogatorio.

Pasamos por el almuerzo y el vino, a pesar de que nos dijeron que había una espera de 45 minutos en la comida que nos sirvieron rápidamente, la comida era fresca, sabrosa y abundante. Teníamos, tarta de ckub, croque monsuier (con el huevo) y ensalada César. Porciones perfectas para un buen almuerzo. El servicio era bueno y un lugar limpio y agradable (de un amante de los animales) es una pena que permitan perros.

Not a great menu for a French restaurant so I opted for a burger, wish I hadn't, it was absolutely without taste and very dry, Head Chef had gone home and the remaining chef said it had to be cooked well done but I have had plenty of burgers well done that retained some level of moisture ( and have flavour), my Wife had the Chicken which was also quite dry with undercooked vegetables, it was also quite chilly in the restaurant as both doors either end were open .

La comida estuvo genial. Lamentablemente el servicio fue muy pobre. Nos dieron el menú de postres y luego la única camarera comenzó una conversación con amigos durante unos 10-15 minutos. Después de un tiempo decidimos que queríamos irnos, y nuevamente esperamos para tratar de obtener la factura. En este punto, otra mesa de cuatro se puso de pie, se puso los abrigos y fue al bar a buscar su factura, mientras la camarera seguía hablando con sus amigos. Lo seguí y también me paré en el bar esperando, otra mesa también se acercó al bar para pedirles su factura. Finalmente, la camarera vino a ayudarnos a pagar nuestras comidas. ¿Falto de personal? Tal vez, pero si es así, no chatee con sus amigos mientras hay tres mesas en el bar esperando para pedirles la factura. Muy mal servicio.

Unimposing facade, but what a great find! The food, the staff, the chef, the wine...all were superb! Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 6 PM seems to be their witching hour so try to go after 7 PM for dinner.

Very clean. Excellent menu choice. Food was well cooked. Staff were attentive and friendly. We chose to sit in the conservatory on a very hot day, so wouldn’t recommend doing so to others! (But that was our choice.) will definitely be making another visit when we’re in Leith next.

We took my partners son here for lunch today...he works in hospitality and can be very critical. However, the restaurant is friendly and clean with attentive staff. My partners son ordered belly of pork with mash, my partner ordered her favourite dish...mussels and I ordered their burger. While eating our starters I noticed the table behind us sent back their vegetarian crepes and were replaced after about 10 minutes. In the meantime a young lady sat at a nearby table and ordered a vegetarian crepe which came out in about 2 minutes...a spot of recycling I imagine.

Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Cafe Tartine. Everything was pretty jolly good, but because of the heat coming thru the glass window I did get a bit uncomfortably hot towards the end of my stay. That said, I&#039;d go back to Cafe Tartine without hesitation.

Ever time I have gone to cafe Tartine the food, service and ambiance is perfect and this visit was as expected

I loved this restaurant so much that after stumbling across it by accident on Monday with a friend , I brought my family back on Wednesday and nobody was disappointed!<br />The food on both occasions was delicious- I had the fish soup in a bread bowl and honestly it is divine. My daughter had the Mussels and each one was plump and juicy, my son had the rib eye steak with pepper sauce, perfectly cooked. <br />Service was excellent on both occasions and ambience lovely. can’t wait to come back .

Location, cooking, wine, service all very pleasing. Next door to Tom Kitchin but booking is much easier and so is paying for it. We had rump of lamb with lentils, and baguette steak - both very good. The recommended Picpoul de Pinet and Cotes du Rhone were well matched - the bread and butter pudding with a twist was excellent. Put that together with the Leith vibe and a helpful waitress and it's an easy enjoyable thing to do. We'd go again.

We enjoyed our lunch at Cafe Tartine. The food was nice, the service was good. The atmosphere was a little bit noisy at times, but was pleasant enough, as we where seated in the observatory.

Extremely overpriced impossibly chewy steak. Ridiculous wait to give order and get food. Drinks were forgotten. Two members of our party felt ill after their hamburgers.

A very nice Bavette Steak and Pommes Frites washed down with a pleasant house red.<br />The Menu on the Opentable site is way out of date &amp; Café Tartine&#039;s own online menu is not up to date.<br />The only dislike is an automatic service charge added to the bill, whereas I prefer to tip according to my overall satisfaction.

We chose Cafe Tartine as the venue for a special celebration meal while we visited Edinburgh. It came highly recommended by friends of ours and we were not disappointed. Excellent food and attentive staff. A really lovely setting too.

This is our favourite place to eat in Edinburgh! Never been disappointed. Great choice of wine (including sweet French white wines which is rare here!) Food is always perfectly cooked and super tasty, and the service is impeccable. Shout out to the French waiter who is always so helpful and smiley!

We had omelettes, crepes and sandwiches and they were all really tasty! It's dog-friendly so we could take our 4-legged-friend, as long as we sat in the conservatory part. One of our party is diabetic and it's one of the few places the menu is already set up with low-carb options as standard. the portions were a good size and everything very tasty.

Was there for a party and arrived early so decided to have an ‘Aperol Spritz. One of my favourite drinks. Was a tiny amount of alcohol topped with a huge amount of soda water a little ice and a tiny sliver of orange. This cost me £7.50. Probably the worst and certainly the weakest I have ever had. The 4 stars are for the food and service both of which were first class

Last minute late lunch booking for 11 the day after a wedding, warm friendly service, well cooked food with generous proportions, why anyone would consider a chain restaurant with places like this, individual character, fantastic menu and well priced.

Tried the day before, it was that good we decided to be back the very next day. The mussels in cream and white wine sauce are absolutely amazing (we had it again). The service is really spot on. Highly recommended!

We were with a group of 42 people. Dinner was prearranged and they were ready! Drinks, appetizers, main dishes and desserts came out in a timely fashion. Servers were professional and friendly. They also have a covered outside dining area.

Wondering aimlessly around on our last day in Edinburgh and stumbled across this place, enticed by its conservatory area to dine in at the front. My boyfriend had the French onion soup starter which tasted delicious. I had one of their specials for my main course, of a very generously sized salmon fillet, which was perfectly cooked and presented. We all had crepes for dessert, which I could eat over and over again. A great end to a great weekend, thankyou!!

We booked the conservatory area for a family celebration. The food was really good and excellent value. All tastes and ages were catered for and the staff looked after us very well. This is a great place for dinner ( and it does really good breakfasts!)

We enjoyed a very good meal. It was a set menu for a group. Each course that I had consisting of smoked salmon, a seafood sort of pie, and watermelon with raspberry sorbet were very tasty. There is indoor and outdoor dining available.

Nice day for a sat morning walk. Nipped in for a full Scottish breakfast. Clean, friendly and bonus points for offering my hound a drink. Hound was made a fuss of more than me but nothing wrong with that! Sausage was amazing, nice crispy bacon. Slightly more than I would want to pay for breakfast but quality more than makes up for it. I had a lovely morning at Cafe Tarinte. I was waiting for the Airlink bus back to Edinburgh Aiport and was able to escape the rain and enjoy a sunny lunch on the couches in the covered patio out back. The flavors and the ingredients and the options were superb. The coffee was delicious however not the best I've had while in Edinburgh, I expect it is a dark espresso roast, which would make sense it being a French Restaurant, espresso blends is always a matter of opinion and palate. I especially loved the breakfast options, lots of value there, the lunch was a bit more expensive but for the portions it is absolutely worth it.

My daughter and I arrived at 5.30pm.<br />We were accompanied by a small cocker spaniel and were shown to a table near the window in the conservatory.<br />We were brought a bowl of water for the dog and our order taken right away.<br />Our food arrived quickly, was hot and delicious. <br />Very reasonably priced and would recommend.

Nice, big open space restaurant with delicious food - french cuisine, good selection of wine. Comfortable sofas or big family tables. The restaurant has their conservatory with a view on the Scottish Government and Water of Leith. Dog-friendly. Extremely nice service. Highly recommended.

Been going here for years, it’s really something when an establishment gets it right consistently every single time. Here tonight with my husband and the food, service and atmosphere were absolutely fantastic. This place gets it right every single time. My beef bourguignon was simply out of this world, the depth of flavour is something I’ve never been able to recreate in my kitchen despite cooking the dish probably once a month. Every year a bunch of friends meets up to chew the fat of what we’ve been up to the year before - this year we chose Café Tartine. Being a group of 8 it’s quite remarkable that all 8 of us came to the same conclusion and awarded this restaurant/café with the same ranking of 5 stars!!! We were welcomed by a very friendly waiter and taken to our table then our drinks order taken. Very fast in receiving drinks.

Absolutely fantastic French food! I had lunch on a Friday, it was relatively quiet and we sat in the lovely conservatory at the back. I had delicious mussels, cooked perfectly. The staff were really helpful and efficient. I&#039;ll be back :)
