Decks Bar and Restaurant in Derry

Both myself and mum went to Solo for an evening meal as part of the Eat out to help out incentive. I ordered a starter of the toasted cheese and I thought ok if the starter is this good we are in for a lovely meal. Mums dish arrived of the baked cod and she really enjoyed it. My main of the 50/50 was disappointing. My steak was over cooked and tbe chicken was tough in places. I didn't realise that each side had to be ordered separately. One of the desserts was apple pie in name only. If you closed your eyes you wouldn't have been able to say what it was. We were charged £35 for the experience. I doubt that I will be back.

Wonderful service, friendly accommodating staff and very good food. Always an enjoyable meal out. 👌👌👌

Surprised that Decks was still open after all these years, very good meal and friendly service,,also chef was very present and came to ask if everything was okay.

If you want a great steak this is the place. I take my steak rare and my wife likes hers well done and both were perfect. Highly recommended

Decks bar and restaurant is a wee hidden gem.... This was our first time in Decks. Our first impression was very good customer service from the young man Ryan who answered the phone and took our booking. There was a lovely ambience about the place. We were made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent and the price was very reasonable. The chef came out and talked with us all and he was very friendly. We definitely recommend Decks for a very relaxing night out. We will be back. Compliments to the Juliet and Ryan and Donal the chef for excellent service and tasty food.

Wir sind durch Zufall auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen. Wir waren vollkommen zufrieden. 2 Gänge Menü + Kaffee/Tee vor 8 p.m. für 10.95£. Das Essen frisch zubereitet, echt lecker wie man es selten in U.K. findet. Auch das Personal hat einen besten Eindruck hinterlassen: freundlich und vor allem sehr bemüht den Gast zufrieden zu stellen. Volle Punktzahl! Leider nur Do.-So. ab 5:30 p.m. geöffnet.

Would go here now and then. It's not the most 'trendy' place in the North West, there are no copycat 'hipster' waiters with beards serving tobacco onions but the staff are really friendly. The chef will come out and chat and ask how things are etc. As others have said maybe menu is a tad old fashioned, the restaurant has been going since the 90's but food is still good honest great quality and excellent value. No draft beer just pint bottles but good selection of wine. Kids get an ice cream and lollipop which goes down well.

My wife and I went here for the early bird meal on Friday night....2 courses for £10.95.....excellent value and food. I had the vegetable broth and 8oz sirloin steak (extra £2) and my wife had the bruschetta and the home made lasagne. The food and service was excellent. Although this restaurant is no longer by the main road it is a wee hidden gem just one turn off the main dual carriageway. Get down there folks and support this wee venture!!

Popped in for dinner and had the 2 course Special. Food was served well and we're made very welcome.salads were filling and the main course was varied so everyone was catered for. Great value and Donald the chef owner always makes time for his patrons. The only downside was the lack of draught beer but with limited openings it's understandable. Like McAree's I shall return. Great People great value

Took my mum and aunty and sister there, we were having a nostalgia trip! It was like we were back in time 15-20 year ago. Staff were brilliant, menu out dated but food was good. Place needs a face lift but it was clean.

A little gem of a place very homely and welcoming with good food friendly staff and most of all its VFM.You wont be disappointed

I have waited 4 years since I moved here from Canada to find a restaurant that I could bring my relatives for good evening meal. Decks is it. I had the lovely early dinner meal and this comes with a starter, and main meal for £10.95. The steak was cooked to perfection exactly the way I asked for it and the mushrooms caps were lovely. The only shame about this place is that it's off the main road and it should be known for its beautiful ambiance , staff very accommodating and helpful. Definitely will be returning here. More people should be coming here!

I disliked nothing it was very comfortable, and the staff were very helpful. And treated us very well.

we eat here every year we visit Benalmadena, its such a friendly place to stop and have a bite to eat, food amazing, chilli nicest i have ever tasted!!!!!! and then the nice drinks and cocktails.....well worth a visit folks...

I was here at Easter and was my first time. I don't go out for dinners much but I liked the look of some of the food on the menu. I settled on a cheeseburger and was very nice. Then I finished off with chocolate fudge cake and it was lovely, I have never found desert I didn't like! Overall this was a good trip and nice food. Might go again another time.
