French Village Botanic in Belfast

What a real treat for breakfast. Pancakes were great. The Avo Toast was on point and the Turkish eggs are simply delicious. All topped of with great coffee and very kind staff. Go there for a very good start of your day.

French Village is one of my favourite lunchtime spots. It never disappoints. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is cosy.

3 star food hygiene rating. Look for yourself.

Very tasty food However both times we've been service has been incredibly slow (both Lisburn rd and botanic) Including most recently we had to wait over 45 minutes for food

Only realised on the way out this establishment has a 3 star food rating and on reflection you can see why.

It's hard to beat this lovely café - the food is varied and very good and the staff is excellent.

A small but well served bistro, which we stumbled across for breakfast. There are only around 35 seats in the small dining room but we were seated and served very quickly. By the time we left (around 1100 on a Sunday morning) there were people waiting for tables (which is a good sign I'm sure). I had the "French Fry" and my partner had the French toast with Berry compote. Both served very quickly and was hot. Food was delicious and I couldn't eat all of my French fry as there was loads (shock horror). Very cosmopolitan feel and atmosphere and would highly recommend!!

Absolutely fabulous brunch place. The French toast and the buttermilk stacks are to die for!!

We got the breakfast bap and the buttermilk fried chicken on French toast. As an enthusiast for black pudding, its crisp and flavour hit the right spot for me. It also compliments the hashbrown, sausage and bacon on the breakfast bap. I thought the toast of the bread was just nice it adds a crunch to the dish. Next was the buttermilk fried chicken. The big and chunky chicken filled me up for the rest of the day. I'm glad I got the French Toast as it's a lil sweet with that thick french-toastie taste which I loved. To add on, what scored the points had been its texture - how it just melts in your mouth. The waiter who served us this morning had been really sweet and attentive. Didn't get his name but his service gave us a good impression about this store!

AVOID, we were sat at a table with an hour to go to close and after our main course the staff wouldn't serve tea or desert as it was too close time, 20mins still to go... Terribly Poor service and a very average over priced meal that was very salty. Won't be back, exceptionally over rated

Greasy food, poor service and inattentive staff.

Had avo and eggs on sourdough toast (gf option as well). Very tasty with a mix of garnishes including touch of hot sauce / chili's adding a mild kick. Eggs could have been a little bit softer to give a runny yoke. Coffee was good too, with oat milk available (if that your thing).

Came in for a late breakfast around 11am. We had the soup of the day an apple and leek that was very good. The soup tasted very fresh, bright and sweet. We had 2 butter croissants, we were hoping for almond but they sold out. The butter croissants were absolutely amazing! We would have loved to have tried the almond. One of us oregano the Turkish eggs and was extremely pleasantly surprised. They were different menu item then what we are used to seeing and tasted great. The flavors of the yogurt with the eggs and seasonings were different and absolutely a delicious combination. Someone else grabbed the open steak sandwich and was in love with the flavors of the sandwich. Three of us order a coffee of sorts, iced americano, cappuccino, and a latte with oat milk. The coffees were great and hit the spot! The other member of our party ordered a tea and that also hit the spot for them! We really enjoyed our brunch at the village cafe and bistro. What would have made this a 5 star experience was if our server was a bit friendlier and attentive. We had to ask for our check twice and waited a bit for her to be able to pay. The staff who brought our coffee and food over were helpful and attentive though.

Sat down to eat lunch and told staff that I had to take my child to the bathroom and we arnt finished food yet only got a few bites in and came back and the food was gone what a disgrace

Enjoyed a tasty Veggie Fry breakfast and was impressed with the quality of ingredients and portion size (the smashed avocado was delish). The girls working were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere perfect for afternoon brunch. Bonus: Got an entire carrot cake for 50% off on the way out - great deal!

Has an unwarranted air of sophistication about it. Why do they not take bookings? Food was alright, not the best.

This is a lovely looking place, really nice vibe, interesting menu, and tasty food. Would just be nice if the staff could smile a bit, they're all very glum 🙁

Me and my friend just walked around wanted to find some place for a coffee and sit outside for a while. The guy who came to take our order was super nice, smiling, refreshingly friendly, so helpful in regards to our specific wishes :) so we got exactly what we wanted. It was only coffee, but it was excellent and we definitely come back for some meal.

Got some takeaway rainbow cake here last week. It was beautiful!

Fine for what it is. Very basic lunch spot if you’re in the area and can’t find anything else. Basic food that is overpriced and probably out of a packet. Had the chicken and chips.

Dined here previous day for breakfast and had the French toast which was amazing, and as was close to where we staying decided we go again next day as said was open at 8.30am which suited us as travelling but when got to store and walked in the unlocked door were told they don't open until 9am. Advertised hours don't appear to be correct. A shame as was looking forward to the vegan stack.

Food was lovely but would appreciate a bit more variety with their vegetarian options. Staff were all fabulous!

Nipped in late morning for quick snack. Shared club sandwich which was very tasty and ample. Staff were so friendly and were there when you wanted something but not making you feel like it was time to move on. Busy place but would recommend.

This is a godsend in a food wasteland haha Ireland is not known for its great food but this is a hidden gem - Staff lovely food really good …a little taste of home ! It’s a busy place so grab a table - you can even make your own sandwich choosing whatever you feel like ! Really good food and great staff in a pretty location - worth a visit !

Fantastic breakfast and super delicious french toasts

Eaten twice here in the past week. Lisburn Road ordered French toast and was served stale dry bread with absolutely no egg soaked through it. For 8.50 not acceptable 😔

Hard to understand the identity of their food

incredibly delicious breakfast, despite the full room we received the order in about 10 minutes, and the coffee after a while after ordering. The portion is really big. If you are looking for a place where you can eat a really delicious breakfast, we recommend it wholeheartedly ❤️

Excellent service and experience

Place has changed alot - used to have an extensive menu and everything seemed to be homemade. Now the chicken goujons seem like they are from out of a bag and the menu has shrunk but prices inflated. Sad to see such an icon place do that after years and years of catering to the surrounding student community so well.

Not great service, good atmosphere though and good food

Was ordering cupcake gift for a friend living in Belfast. I had to phone the bakery to help with my order since online has a payment limit. Shannon who I spoke with with was absolutely superb and helped place my order for delivery to my friend. I live in Dublin, so could not arrange collection of the cupcake gift. Really appreciate all the time she spent on the phone to me and advising with the order. Customer service was excellent. Thank you Shannon!

My Aunt and Uncle brought me here for Sunday brunch. The queue was brief but worth it. We got seated down in no tim and in no time our food arrived. For the first time I tried the loaded fries with a side of sausage. Was really tasteful and filling. Staff were lovely and very polite. Loved their dress sense. Reminded me of Shoreditch on the weekends. Thank you guys 🙏🏽❤️

I am glad they had plenty of kids high chairs as our twins were with us. They absolutely loved their avo toast, just wished the scrambled egg we ordered was more cooked as it was for infants. I ordered the French Mac burger and it was really good and a good amount for the price. The service could be a tad better as they seemed quite overwhelmed when we arrived, but the kitchen had the food out in no time.

Food is excellent - the avo on toast with perfect poached eggs is a triumph. It is noisy however and the space is cramped with over half the usable space either a corridor or a takeout section. In the summer it's possible to sit out and that's very needed. Good place

We all had delicious food, though I was slightly envious of my friend's particularly amazing looking French toast! 🤩 Nice that you can choose to order at the table by app, or at the counter.

Fabulous atmosphere and excellent service. Food was hot and delicious and plentiful. Tea and coffee were hot as well. All in all, I would recommend this lovely café and its friendly staff. Spent £30 including gratuity and we were both extremely satisfied with everything. We'll done to all concerned!

French toast, maple syrup and bacon. Plenty of bacon but cold and rock hard. Whole thing drowning in maple syrup (better served on the side). £9 for that...disappointing as I had been wanting to try this place for a while. Oh and coffee is so so.

Came in this morning with my mother and father for breakfast, and saw we had to look at the menu online which is a bit of a hassle when paying online as well, the inside of the cafe was nice quite busy. But if you can’t order online the cafe will give you menus and you can go up to the counter and order. 40.00 pound for 2 fry’s and a French toast with bacon. The meal was just okay but so expensive for what? But the staff were very lovely apart from that.

FV was welcoming for us as lunchtime drop-in customers. Food was good, variety good, service good, ambience good...but a tad pricey. Would I return ? Yes !

HORRIBLE! food (brownie) was ice cold and brick hard. Like concrete. Everything smelt disgusting, from the actual cafe to the food. Expensive food with horrible quality and taste. The ceiling looked like we were sitting in an abandoned building they were that dirty. 0/10 definitely would not recommend.

Ordered the vegan. It was cold and not fresh. Very poor.

Food was very good and good sized portions, my only issue was 3 of the 4 people got served and 1 of us had a further 10 minute wait for the other lunch. I know it's not a big issue but it lead to 1 person eating on their own or the other 3 waiting until all the food arrived and theirs going cold.

Amazing place, good coffee, we had to run from the boring breakfast that hotel offers, and this place was delicious! And they have a big portions as well!

Take away food with sitting in prices. £9 for this plate of chicken goujons, chicken was hard chips overly salted. Tea was in a take away cup even though we were sitting in. Stuffing in a sandwich was freezing cold while the sandwich was warm. Also served on an ugly silver tray. Staff non-existent. What happened to this places. Used to be a fancier experience for a lovely lunch. The only nice thing was the coffee.

Terrible place, still serving food in a cardboard takeaway box at very expensive sit in prices. Club sandwich was what i would expect in a prepack selection, ceser salad was basically a full baby gem with half a chicken breast, no tomatoes or croutons, cost us £11 to feed a 10 month old baby as they have no options suitable. Order via the qr code, Absolutely hate this lack of service. Will most definitely not be back. My opinion spend your hard earned cash at a different eat out. Only got one star as its the only I leave a review.

Not great at all tbh, got a fry that was delivered in a stainless steel plate with grease proof paper. The paper was absolutely drenched in grease

The main question I had being at this place - why the hell is it called “French” village. A French person would have a stroke just by looking at the menu, not even tasting the food. The avocado toast was spicy - why? I have assumptions that it was cooked like this to cover the bad taste of food. Also, the cake I ordered was really doubtable. The sugar was not mixed and I could literally taste it in the cake’s flavor. Not going there anymore.

Great coffee friendly staff number 10 bang bang chicken wrap get on it tasty

I had a carrot cake and a hot chocolate. Both things had too much sugar. Please reduce the sugar in your recipes. I had this in the morning and I'm still feeling sick due to the exaggerated amount of sugar in the cake and the chocolate. Both things just tasted of sugar. That's the only flavour they had.

Coffee is good, but that's about all. Portions are small but very expensive. We got avo on toast with poached eggs. Eggs were not cooked, whites running everywhere. Extremely off putting. Mountains of avo on one sad piece of toast. Menu/order is all online, really hate that. Hire some staff. One poor girl running around after everyone.

The food here is second to none, the speed and efficiency of the workers was super admirable, especially as it was a really busy, sunny early afternoon, and the area was buzzing with people. Will definitely be back.

Menu suits breakfast, lunch and tea time

They have nice avocado mix, their poached eggs are really nice overall a great meal. It was a bit hard to eat with plastic cutlery.

We went in for coffee/tea but couldn’t resist ordering some food after seeing the menu. We weren’t disappointed...the food was truly excellent. Possibly the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had. They’re working with a high-level of caution for COVID, which we appreciated. Ordering from the app at our table was slightly awkward at first, and you have to input a lot of info up front (credit card details, billing address, etc.), but the food came out extremely quickly after we placed our order, so no complaints there. The staff/service was all friendly and welcoming!

Llamamos para el brunch, la primera vez que regresamos al establecimiento desde Covid.La seguridad no podía fallar, pero los platos de papel y los utensilios de plástico dificultaban el disfrute de la comida. De lo contrario, limpio y bien administrado.Yo comí los huevos escalfados y el aguacate, en una lámina delgada de masa madre; estaba bien, pero para 7, he comido mejor por menos.Mi compañero tenía el croissant con jamón y queso, muy decepcionante por decir lo menos a las 5 de nuevo lo mejor por menos.Sé que son tiempos difíciles para las empresas, pero esta fue una experiencia muy variada y no valió la pena los costos.
