We had a spectacular meal ! It was stunning ! One of the best steaks I have ever had. The staff were brilliant, attentive and extremely knowledgeable!!! Thank you for a great meal and lovely evening. We will definitely be back !!! 👍

Two of us had dinner here. Had a steak, a Goodman steak burger and some side dishes. The food was really very good and the service was extremely courteous.

Really good attention to detail. We were a group of 10. We were served by Carlos and the front seat was by Victoria, excellent service by both. Carlos kept an eye on our wine glasses and constantly topped them up. Thank you.

The steaks are delicious, but you'd expect that at any Goodman's. It's the service here which is exemplary, and absolutely made our meal. Each member of staff was extremely attentive and made our special occasion all the better. Phillipe, our waiter, was friendly, knowledgable and professional. These days the service in many London restaurants is nothing to write home about, but I felt compelled to post this review after such a great experience at Goodman this week. Thank you.

Good steak, loved the honeycomb parfait dessert.

Really nice restaurant with genuinely friendly staff. Maybe a bit on the expensive side, but we enjoyed it. 4 instead of 5 as the vibe didn’t quite align with what you were paying. Steaks were fine, but nothing to write home about. Was expecting to be wowed more. They have sauces which are nice, but you shouldn’t be leaning on the sauce to add flavor to the steak. Felt like they forgot to salt it. Don’t get me wrong, I’d go again…. But the scores here set my expectations higher

While the service from the wait staff is second to none the food was not what I expected and certainly not worth the price. All the sides we served tepid, both steaks were overcooked and I had to send my wine back because it had white bits floating in it. The glasswear is all watermarked and it feels a little shabby Such a shame because their team was so lovely and knew their stuff!

I made a reservation and visited as soon as it opened, but if you want to go here, it's better to make a reservation right after it opens. Seats fill up quickly. I'm not confident in my English, but the staff member understood this and spoke to me in the simplest language possible, and was very courteous. The food is very delicious and I really like the potato potage as a starter! The main steak was also fragrant, with just the right amount of elasticity and juiciness, making me feel happy. When you come to London, this is a store you want to visit at least once.

A trendy yet high-quality Soho steak restaurant. I ordered shrimp tempura, hamburger (I ordered it because it was gochujang sauce, but it was very mild), steak, and garlic spinach. The garlic spinach was so delicious that I ordered and ate creamed spinach. Both were delicious, but I personally found the clean garlic spinach more impressive. The atmosphere in the restaurant is good and the staff are friendly.

We came for a family meal, which ended up exceeding expectation. I had the crab on toast to start, which was extremely flavoursome, the crab really was there in abundance. Followed by burger, chips and mac & cheese. The burger was cooked to perfection. Chips were crispy on outside, soft inside. Mac was a bigger portion than expected with truffle mixed in. To finish I had ice cream as was so full.

Fabulous Evening spent with friends at Goodmans. Steaks were phenomenal, all food served to perfection. Service efficient and not fussy! Highly recommended !

Been to Goldman’s a few times. Decided to book to have a late lunch/ early evening meal. Vibe was just right. Busy but not packed. Good ambience. Lovely server took our order and a short time later we had mushroom soup and whitebait to start. We also got given bread and butter which was fresh and warm, well the bread was! I wouldn’t say loads of food but perfectly cooked. For the mains we had three steaks (one of which fillet) chips, two mac and cheese and sauces. All the food was fantastic. Steaks so tasty and seasoned well along with being so tender. Lots of fries and mac and cheese. One portion for two people is enough, two for three probably too much. Great food. Lovely server. Can’t wait to return. Enjoy

Pretty average. Good service. Generous spinach portion, Truffle Parmesan chips excellent. Medium rib-eye overdone. Sediment in Merlot (by the glass).

Food was great but has become very expensive. We used to come regularly but now it's very rare and will become more so because of the cost.

Philipe made the night special with his wonderful and warm personality. We noticed he was the same with all the other guests as well. A true professional. The steaks were amazing . Overall a wonderful experience

Amazing service, food and atmosphere!

Well where do I start, to me this is the best STEAK restaurant in London the choice is endless there's no other place like it - its the Benchmark I judge other restaurants by Goodmans standard, great atmosphere excellent service by attentive staff, and of course the best steaks with a very comprehensive wine list . . . . that you could get lost in . . . . I love sitting at the bar at lunchtime and I'd sit in a booth for dinner its a real buzzy place - I've never been in London without visiting Goodmans ! thats how good it is . . . .

Great but over priced across the menu. Location was ideal for this lunch but in a choice, same location, not sure I would have picked it. It's good though. Consistently good

A skill and expertise with meat that is very hard to beat. Certainly the best steak house in London and one of the top ones anywhere. I travel from Cheshire and my friend from NY three or four times a year just for the experience

buzzy, very london. a hidden gem in mayfair which isn’t full of tourists! the australian sirloin was amazing, but the goodman ribeye lacked texture (go to flatiron for rlly good steak on a budget). peppercorn sauce was fab, but the best thing on the menu is the praline ice cream! would come back just for that! service was great and went above and beyond! however, hard of hearing people may struggle as it’s so loud and crowded - i went with someone half deaf and we found it hard to hear waitress and eachother!

Excellent all around not disappointed.

I was a little surprised at how casual this restaurant was, both with the customers and staff so we felt a little overdressed but the food and experience itself was good. We had some cocktails to start along with a couple of portions of oysters which were excellent. The steaks were all cooked to perfection but the most amazing thing I tried was a side of Mac & Cheese, it was out of this world and complemented the steak very well. We shared a couple of puddings between the four of us and again they were excellent. The bill came to just under £500 for 4 people but we did have a bottle of wine and 4 cocktails so I guess for London it's about right. Overall we had a nice time, would I go back... Probably not. It's not a patch on the steakhouses in NYC I'm afraid.

This is one of london’s great meat restaurants I ordered the 400 gram fillet and it was delicious specially with the beyarnais sauce as well as the different sides but not as good as the meat 🥩. The service was quick didn’t take time and our waiter was very helpful in what to choose. The atmosphere of the place was as if you were in a barbecue stake house in America really cool and calm vibe not a lot of people or maybe because we came at a time there wasn’t any people we came at 8. The price is extremely reasonable for what we had (we ordered half the menu 😂). I truly recommend this place for any meet lover or a casual night out with friends. Ps be sure to come early if you want to try the Japanese wagyu.

So, here’s how good this place is. Last time I was in London (December), I ate at Goodman’s - Mayfair. I eat there 5-6 times a year or…so not a “regular” but regular enough, I suppose. Anyhow, the steak I had was a ribeye but was not a great cut of meat - it happens. I finished my meal and mentioned it to my waitress. I wasn’t complaining - just mentioned it. The manager came over a short time later and we talked about the steak. No big deal..I wasn’t asking for anything and was fine paying for it. She was very nice. I paid for my meal and left. Now, it’s February (2 months later), I’m back at Goodman’s eating with a couple of friends. We are having drinks and haven’t ordered yet when the manager comes to me and asks about my meal in December…I had forgotten about it but they didn’t. I would have been impressed if they’d stopped there but they didn’t…they said they were paying for our dinner and sides. I told him that was unnecessary and I appreciated the gesture. But they insisted. That’s service…and that’s how you create and keep customer loyalty in any industry. There are lots of good places to eat but Goodmans is another level. I’ll be eating there again in March.. Check it out for yourself. Tim

Came with my wife and teenage daughter we all really enjoyed the food (steak, burger and Chicken) and also the ambience - casual feel but good service.

Fantastic restaurant choice for a good steak! Very impressed with the way my friends & I have been looked after when we've visited this steak restaurant a few times. The staff and manageress went out of their way to look after us. Love their signature rib eye and the truffle chips are also devine. The desserts are also awesome if you have room. Will definitely be back again.

My delightful wife Sandra decided to treat me to a Birthday feast at Goodmans in Mayfair. This was very much a surprise given that we shared a 10 piece bargain bucket for my Birthday last year. We kicked things off with tuna tartar and scallops and I have to say, both dishes were out of this world. Sandra then decided to order a fillet cut from the specials board. I wouldn’t usually be so bold as to do this but I thought ‘why not? She’s paying,’ so I did. Sandra went medium rare, while I played safe and went medium. As you can clearly tell, Sandra is the thrill seaker in the relationship. Anyway, the moral of the story here is that these were the best fillet steaks we had ever eaten and we’ve eaten steaks with the best of them! After a mandatory post-250g-of-beef bathroom break, I returned to discover a second old-fashioned cocktail waiting for me, courtesy of our charming waiter Marco (I sadly can’t remember his actual name but he definitely looked like a Marco). His attention to detail surpassed the cliché ice-cream scoop and sparkler routine, coupled with Marco’s (who also didn’t know my name by the way) rendition of “Happy Birthday.” Bravo, Goodmans and Marco, you were a class act from start to finish. Solid 10/10!

The place is definitely a grill house, it has all the meats but it is just not as good as i expected...we tried 5 pieces for sharing. It was ok at best. Service was good, the restaurant was full and the vibe was nice

Had a delightful experience at Goodman's in Mayfair! The staff warmly presented a variety of well-prepared cuts, explaining each with enthusiasm. The menu offered ample choices, and the food was fresh and expertly cooked. The service was accompanied by genuine smiles. The only minor drawback was the decor, which might benefit from a refresh, though it didn't compromise the overall cleanliness, it just didn't align with the polished service from the staff.

We needed a restaurant for pre-theatre dinner before a show at the London Palladium. The location is perfect - a few minutes walk. On the downside the prices are eye-wateringly high. But on the upside the service and food were exemplary. We were a party of 4 and after delicious prawn tempura starter we decided to have the large chateaubriand to share. Along with sides (including the amazing roast onions) and sauces there was actually plenty of food. The bill including a cocktail each and one bottle of wine was about £90/head. But we all agreed the steak was brilliant and so we would return.

This is the second time I have visited and it did not disappoint. Service was amazing as was the food.

Saturday birthday dinner with friends was an average experience and I don’t quite understand the glowing reviews. My steak that I requested to be rare was served medium, sauce arrived already cold and the triple cooked chips was on the soggy side. This is what I might expect from a chain steakhouse but not from Goodman with the prices they charge. Service was ok but nothing spectacular, so unfortunately I will not be coming back, there are better places in London

Goldmann in Mayfair war super. Die Dame im Service war super freundlich und das Essen war gut. Vom Preis war es für die Qualität angemessen und eher von meinem Gefühl her günstig. Ich kann das Goodman weiterempfehlen.

Awesome choice, amazing flavour and superb service.

Once again Goodman did not disappoint. We came here in December for my husband’s special birthday and had the most wonderful time. This time we took our small , quiet dog and were welcomed and given a table in the window where we were not in the way. It’s so refreshing to be able to take our dog to such an outstanding restaurant. Steaks , food and service were faultless. See you again soon !

They just know how to cook good steaks. I had a medium cooked sirloin along with truffle chips, spinach and broccoli and it was all yummy. It was finished off with a delicious apple crumble with vanilla ice cream. A bit on the expensive side but it's good.

A great atmosphere at Goodman with fantastic and informative service (far more impressive than my last experiences at Hawksmoor). Starting with a tuna tartare and burrata shared between two warmed us up just right for the plentiful mains. Creamed spinach is a must. Spiced carrots, mash and thick chips also hit the spot as accompaniments to an English porterhouse. I have been told the burger is a must and I’m sure I’ll be back to try it.

Um die neu Jahrs Zeit herum genoss ich ein Abendessen im Goodman-Mayfair, welches sich in der Zubereitung von Steaks wahrlich als herausragend erwies. Ein kulinarischer Geheimtipp, den ich besonders hervorheben möchte ist das JAPAN, A5 WAGYU, MIYAZAKI BLACK 200g zweifelsohne das beste Steak das ich je in London genossen habe. Atmosphäre ist ein Traum und das Personal war wirklich sehr bemüht.

Locale molto carino e informale, personale estremamente gentile. Fondamentalmente è una steack house e la carne è molto buona, porzioni non enormi, ma che con i contorni permettono di gustarsi l’intero pasto senza dover rinunciare al dolce. Molto ampia la scelta dei vini da ogni paese, non tantissimi gli italiani. nel conto è compreso anche il servizio, ottima esperienza.

Best steak in London really is but not only that from the starter menu to the deserts everything and all fresh ingredients were totally amazing. A beautiful restaurant space that resembles a scene from goodfellas with that new York steak house ambience absolutely had a brilliant birthday. Big thanks to our server camillo very attentive as he had 11 hungry guys he also made the experience welcoming. Thanks goodmans team. Shall see you again soon 😋

We went for dinner on 12/27/23. The hostess who sat us down was terrible and so unfriendly ( we almost left ) . The food was so so but overrated. I’m well traveled and lived in france Spain and now New York. I ate much better steaks. However our waiter was very good. He did very well and we left him a good tip.

We arrived with two kids aged 5 and 8. We asked if there was anything that can be offered for the kids. Do be told a stark “no”. No offer of half portions or any options at all. So we got up and left. We went straight to Hawksmoor and they were more than happy to offer food off menu for the little ones. Even though like Goodmans they don’t have a kids menu per se. Goodmans could learn from that.

Absolutely loved it. Had never heard of Goodmans before until Alan Brazil mentioned it on Talksport. You pay for what you get so not cheap but bloody lovely. Recommended.

Good atmosphere, nice staff and overall an easy midweek place to hang out and have burger or steak with some booz. You would probably see that most of the customers are guys ( probably 7 to 3 ). This time fancied burger instead of steak so we went for their wagu burger which was nice ( I give it 7/10 , as the bread was a bit over toasted and the patty wasnt rested enough) Starter of Prawn tempura and scallops were fabulous as always , even though the scallops and the mash under were cold ), but it’s acceptable! Cant fault them for that ( gets my 8/10 ) Our waiter was amazing, I think he was spanish ( please accept my apology if I was wrong and you are reading this ), we popped in without booking and they hosted us, overall amazing staff all around ! Well done to them. Will I go again: Yes Food : 8/10 Service : 10/10 Price : 9/10 ( for mayfair is acceptable ) Overall cost : £108 without any drinks for two ( burger mains plus two starters ) , if you are going for steak , based on previous experiences, I would say 150-£200 for two

Been to the city branch a few times, and this is arguably better. Still a bit noisy but not as full of shouty city types. Brilliant service. Steaks absolutely superb. Expensive, but so good. Huge puddings too. The mash with brown butter and sage was great, but the Hawksmoor cheesy mash does top it. Some amazing wines by the glass from the vacuvin. Overall a fantastic experience.

Great food, but the manager is a complete dick! Please let this go to the bosses of the restaurant. It was my birthday and I can’t fault the staff, apart from the manager. He’s has a problem and I’ve been to that restaurant 12 times,...

Was back at Goodmans for our yearly Christmas dinner with friends. Second time at this venue and we came back for a reason. The food was great, the service excellent and overall we had a fantastic time. We will definitely be back in 2024

To me, this is the Benchmark when you’re looking for a good steak in London, there’s no place like Goodman in Maddock Street. I have to say the ambience the food & service never fails to impress a super place to bring a friend client or a lover.

I had googled best steakhouses in London for my partners birthday and this kept coming up, so we decided to book. Even with the really good reviews everything exceeded our expectations. Our server Carlos was fantastic, as was the server before him whose name i didn't quite catch, and the hostess. Nothing was too much hassle and they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, and was quite possibly the best service we have ever had.The food was also absolutely amazing. I would recommend this venue to anyone and will most certainly be back.

Esperienza ottima, lo stesso la qualità dei prodotti. Ci sono stata quest'estate e ora stavo disperatamente cercando il nome, sperando di tornarci tra non molto.

Solid 4 star steakhouse. Good service throughout our dining experience, yet the actual steaks were ok. A bit undersalted and also not as tender throughout. Overall pretty decent though but have had better ribeyes at home! The creamed spinach is pretty good.

What a fall from grace! As soon as we walked in, we were disappointed by what we saw: the restaurant feels very tired and dated now. Service was ok, but our waiter didn't seem to know very much. Probably the worst steak I've had in my life. About 1/3 of my steak from the premium "The Cut" menu was too full of sinew for me to even cut let alone eat...not great for a £92 steak! Credit where it's due though the sommelier was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I feel very sad to write this review as it used to be one of the best steak houses in London.

Arguably the best steakhouse in London - and we've done the research! Been coming here for over 20 years and the steaks have always been excellent. Also a good choice of regular and special cuts to choose from. A bit on the pricy side but standard for central London. Well worth a visit if you love your steaks!!

Had dinner here Saturday night for my wife's 40th birthday before we went to a show. I can safely say in all the restaurants I've ever eaten the service was by far the best. Phillipe waited on us and his knowledge and engagement was absolutely first class. He went above and beyond. Without doubt we will be back. My only regret was we didn't have more time as we were rushing to see a show. The food also was top class but the service really topped it off. Thanks for making the night so special.
