Hereford Charcoal Grill in Herefordshire, County of

Turkish grill can be hit and miss. I was glad I found this place. Mix grill was on point, juice, and very fresh, with a good combination with the standard nan bread. Donner, on the other hand, was quite thin. Brilliant service from staff. Would recommend it if heading down the area.

Had a delivery and it said 20/30 mins arrival, took an hour and half and the food was stone cold. Will not order again

Honestly, although it is a kebab shop I think they make the best pizzas in town, and their garlic sauce is out of this world!! 100% recommend, no matter what food they sell, they never let you or your stomach down. Thankyou!

Updating my review as havent been for a while last weeks food was ok but this week my doner meat and chips was cold I gave it the benefit of the doubt to start with as the meat was on cold salad but as I got further through the whole thing including the chips was barely warm. If id have had the time id have taken it back. Please let this be the first and last time this happens as your food and service has always been excellent in the past.

Ordered food tonight. Always highly rate this place but tonight the food was not nice at all. I had a mixed kebab which had lots of 1 meat and hardly any off the other 2 it also didnt have any onions, Peppers or mushrooms like stated and was really dry. They forgot my suace on the kebab and it took over 2 hours to arrive.

Visited this place once for a quick takeout and was 100% satisfied with that service. Had to hop on to this place after waiting in vain at the grill/ kebab store next door , and we wasted almost a couple of minutes there. Very quick service and affordable. Ordered the ready ones - chicken fillets and wings meals. Was in and out of the place in a matter of a few minutes, despite having other customers. They have pizzas, wraps and kebabs too on their menu ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ service ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ food ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ value for money

I used to be a regular customer for many years but had a poor experience and stopped using this take away a year or so ago. I decided to try them again tonight and really wish I hadn't. I asked for two Doner Kebabs and chips and paid £17.00. One of the meals is in the photo, and I think it was very expensive for what it was. There was no wrap, just a layer of chips hidden from sight, some slightly warm meat and a fairly below par salad. I really do feel disappointed and will not be going back

I had the mixed kebab last night and it was a nice filling portion, The salad and sauce went really well together (Garlic sauce and chilli with all the salad if anyone wonders) and a portion of chips was a needed meal after a long shift. Higly recommended 👍

I used to be a regular customer years ago. Now? Still great food and a friendly service and is also quick for food being cooked in front of you. Really nice quality and reasonably priced. Another good sign worth a mention is I saw the fresh veggies delivery.. Clearly they are sourced as fresh - not commercially off a lorry 😊. Recommended!

Hi my burger was lush , however the salad I ordered was supposed to have olives and feta cheese , minimal feta on on NO olives , they to me would of been the best bits

Massively disappointed. Prawns in the prawn cocktail were chewy, and the wrap etc, including the meat and salad, were awful.... couldn't eat any of it! This place has gone down hill tremendously!

The best lamb shish in Hereford. Lamb comes in a pitta with peppers and onions, salad separate in a tin container, sauce in a pot and chips in their own container. You can mix it as you wish. The only chips that have arrived at my house crisp, hot and tasty with no hint of sogginess. Highly recommended!

The food from here is now no where near the quality we have been used to over the years. I didn't know it had changed hands. I regret our order. I will not be ordering from here again. Gutted.

My family and I have just had an outstanding takeaway from this restaurant. The chicken kebabs were delicious, the meat was griddled to perfection, the salad fresh and the addition of roasted vegetables made them so tasty. Their garlic chilli sauce is also really good quality. Also, the chips were crisp, despite our son having to drive for 15 minutes after collecting them. I could go on!! I heartily recommend the Charcoal Grill.

Ordered a mixed Kebab, it was assumed that I wanted a large although should have made it clear that I wanted a small. Losts of Donner meat cost £9.20 which was not great value.

I was not going to review this place as I know the family since they started this takeaway. But they need to know. Had a delivery again for the second time from this place to see if they were improved. Unfortunately second large order was even worst from the first one. Paid £43.80 for very burnt overcooked meat which was very small portion and deffonately not value for money. I am sorry but I will not be using them ever again. T

Used to be good - not anymore... We were regulars here for years and always liked the food and service. Unfortunately I have ordered from here a few times recently and every single time the food is late and cold, the order is wrong and the service is rude. I had a pizza a few weeks ago that arrived an hour late and looked like it had been literally stepped on. Then next time, the order was wrong and they took an hour to replace it, then asked for the wrong item back after it had sat in our house for an hour - maybe to resell it? Either way, I'm pretty sure that's not hygienic to take food back to the shop after it's been unwrapped and sat in someone's house, how many times have we been given food that other people didn't want I wonder? They were so rude in the end we told them to forget it. I have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but honestly something has obviously gone seriously wrong with this business that used to be a local legend. What a shame, especially for a family business. I won't waste my money in future.

We have used Charcoal Grill for years and always loved and rated their food. Hot, fresh and very rarely any mistakes. However, the last few visits we have received cold, stale and missing food.Last night's was the final straw. The food was ordered for collection and was stone cold. Pizza box was room temperature underneath so had obviously been cooked and allowed to cool. The Aegan salad went straight in the bin, feta cheese had crumbled completely, tomatoes and cucumber were limp, lettuce was brown and the whole thing smelt like it had been prepared days ago. Pitta bread was like eating a cracker and the potato wedges were soggy and half chips.:/Their usually high standard has plummeted! Such a shame.Will not be back anytime soon.

Used to be good. Ordered ahead on Saturday night at 8pm for collection at 9pm. Stone cold and soggy pizza when I arrived, not even sure that it was what I ordered. Can only assume it was cooked and left on the side for 45 mins or so.

Awful Pizza!!! New owners and thought I’d try by having a full house 12”! Base was very doughy and uncooked and toppings still raw! Tasted awful so will not be returning!! Threw over half in the bin where it belongs!

We wanted to buy some food for the five of us all working a particularly long shift that would be a slightly better option than straight forward McDonald’s or KFC etc so ordered 5 kebabs with couple of portions of chips. The chips were simply inedible and most of my mixed kebab also inedible. I ate the two pieces of chicken and the lettuce and threw away everything else! The pitta is not warm nor cut so it’s just placed on top of everything… so not sure how you’re supposed to eat it as no knife to it it with.. perhaps it’s just a plate?? Not sure… the lamb kebab meat tasted stale.. I normally enjoy lamb kebab meat, (if I don’t think about what’s in it) but this was dry and stale.. and tasted like it had been reheated more than once! What happened to a kebab laced in sauces/ lemon juice/ chilli sauce etc, wrapped up in a toasted pitta with a bit of salad??? This couldn’t be more removed from the kebabs I’ve had elsewhere… the others were not impressed either… but we’re hungry … This was such a disappointment after waiting 20 + minutes for it all and having the most miserable of girls serving me, that I/ we will not be returning. A complete waste of £50. I should have gone to one of chain takeaways after all… we are big believers in using local and smaller outlets too but o wouldn’t recommend anyone to go here..

2yrs ago this was fantastic, had a donner kebab tonight and it was dry and very salty, I asked for mint sauce and no salad - what I got was chilli sauce and salad. Will give the a miss going forward, bit of a let down.

Use to be really nice we'll cooked food when the old man and son had it. The sister has taken over and is using cheaper quality stuff. Had lamb donner and was tasteless Mush. Spent loads of money on TV screen menus. People aren't interested in how the TV menu looks they want decent quality food. Won't be going back unless you change back to how it was 🤮🤮🤮

We have used Hereford Charcoal Grill for a long time, the chicken shish kebabs are some of the best we have had. Having not ordered any for a while, we ordered for delivery a few weeks back... they were as always.. amazing. We were out last Sunday evening and decided to call in for a kebab. I was informed that it was cash only and no card, there was a cash point in the garage down the road. I went to the garage where I couldn't get cash, I hopped over into Morrison's to get cash and went back. On return, I said that as the customer I surely shouldn't have to work to be able to pay for my food.., can they not get a cash machine? I was insulted and called a racist and asked to leave! I said of course I will.. keep the kebabs and enjoy the review. I am not a racist and never made any racist remarks. No more business from us. I have always had a good experience in this place, what's gone wrong with the staff?

Unorganised, rude, terrible foodTold it was a 20 min wait for food, which it was then the chips were coldTook them back to complain and was an effort to get me more and was offered a refund but all I wanted was hot food, by that time my other food was getting coldWith that I was told not to come back again. Agonizing long wait of 3 hours for food to arrive. The food was cold as well. Once microwaved couldn't tell if the food was good or bad due to starvation.

Ordered our food for delivery at 6:45. Have ordered online before, but they had blocked the online ordering so we rang our order through. Was told food would be 60 minutes to deliver. Not a problem. It eventually arrived at 8:45 (2 hours later) and they had got the order wrong and no real apology given on the phone. They said they would send the missing item straight away. Didn’t arrive until 9:45, another hour later! By then we had given up. A real shame, we have been regulars but will look elsewhere in the future. One to avoid these days.

Blatantly ignorant and arrogant staff. I have been a regular customer for years but they will not see my custom again after my recent visit. Delivery wait time is around 90 minutes every time, I decided to go in and order to spare this time but was met with complete rudeness. Ended up leaving without my order and feeling quite upset by the way I was treated.

Shocking. Just paid £5.80 for a chicken shish and decided that it was best left in the shop! In the time it took to cook it, the younger man behind the counter must have lifted his mask up and down over 40 to gossip. His fingers literally spent most of their time on his mouth. Good place to avoid during a pandemic...

Lots of signs about covid hygiene but definitely not applicable to the staff! I left my food in the shop after paying. Not worth the risk. The younger guy spends all his time taking his mask up and down to talk to everyone. His hands seemed to be permanently attached to his mouth. This is the only time I have ever paid for food and left it in the shop. In summary, not so good for food, however great for Covid..

Ordered food at 1844hrs Phone at 2015 and 2045 told food out for delivery It’s 2100hrs and still not arrived On original order was told 50mins - not notification of delay or issue Over 2hrs 20 mins for food and they forgot some of our order !!!When phoned no real customer service or apology WILL NOT BE ORDERING AGAIN Very disappointing. -extreme poor service

A few days ago I ordered a home delivery of a lamb shashlick kebab which is a shish kebab with extra grilled veg. Along with other kebabs and sides which I shared with my son for my birthday. Only to discover several pieces of bone in the lamb shaslick including a fairly large and very sharp, dangerous shard of bone which hurt my mouth and I almost swallowed which would have been very painful and dangerous and very probably, a trip to the hospital. I phoned Hereford grill and complained about this and pointed out that their menu needs to contain a warning about this but they just offered to send me another, which I declined. I left my contact details and they said that the manager would contact me about this when he got in later but he never did.

Great fast food. The young ginger girl taking the orders is very efficient and helpful. Will go there again for sure.

I have been purchasing kebabs from the Charcoal grill regularly for years. I have never been let down, the food is excellent! Best kebabs I've ever had. Fully recommend the Shashlik kebab, juicy tender chunks of lamb with chargrilled peppers and onions. Never had a bad purchase, reasonably priced for the quality of the food. I can not recommend enough. Never had an issue in the numerous times i have been here.

This has been an excellent freshly prepared fast food outlet for 20+ years. It’s all gone wrong. Slow, 90 minutes..,cheap burnt cold meat and poor quality ingredients. Such a shame.

Ordered for the family through Just Eat. Delivery was super quick, food was hot, and everything was correct. Tasty food, not greasy at all, and lots of it. I've enjoyed Charcoal Grill for years but never had a delivery before. Very impressed. Will use that service again.

Don't bother. If you ask for delivery they don't deliver. Apparently our address doesn't exist, even though we have lived here for 30yrs. They then say that we give them the wrong address or we are not in. Funny the postman and Chinese , Amazon , dpd, Iceland Sainsbury. etc etc etc. can all find us with just a number and postcode. Never again. Used to be good
