Nice restaurant, which is hidden in a side street. Nice service, good burger. We would love to come back.

Only came for one drink but cool interior, managed to get a seat without a reservation. Nice cocktails

The place is beautiful and the food nice, good for a date or going out with friends. Only thing to mention is the service is definitely not the best.

Came to indigo yard to have lunch and watch the rugby. Great location in town and great place to watch the match - big screen in the main bar area and big telly in the restaurant so we could watch the game whilst we ate. Food was delicious and staff were all really friendly too! Booked a seat outside to watch the next 6 nations match and outside area all covered to protect you from the Scottish weather and heaters provided too! Will 100% be back again in the future!

Booked a table to watch the six Nations - 2 matches. Scotland V Italy and Ireland V England.. The table we sat at was next to the door of the bar. If I got up once to close it I must have got up 100 times, not joke!! We were there 5 hours! I have never been as cold in a bar in all my life! Take note! If you are going to watch the Six Nations they only turn the sound up on the commentary for Scotland matches. We had already been there looking forward to the Ireland match. I had to go and ask for the volume to be turned up and was told no. I think the guy took pity on me looking at my reaction. We were going to have to leave and quickly find another bar but the bar man turned the volume up. Had I have known they only have commentary on for Scotland matches I would not have booked this bar.

I was honestly so shocked and disappointed with my experience at Indigo Yard. We went to take advantage of the £15 dinner offer that was being advertised all over socials. The food was actually shocking, in a bad way. The starters were bland, super oily and quite cold. The main we chose was the steak frites, and this was extremely poor. I tasted it and couldn’t eat any more. The meat was cold and tough, and the “peppercorn sauce” was literally curry sauce. This was not the meal we were hoping for and definitely not what is being advertised online. We spoke to the staff about our problem and they handled it professionally and removed the item from our bill which I am grateful for. The only good things I found were the cocktails (especially the mango margarita) and the staff. That was it. So disappointing…

Great atmosphere with great drinks/ staff. All the bartenders were attentive and clearly knew what they were doing, service always came with a smile and a laugh. Special shout-out to Fraser for making the best French martini I’ve ever had, but the rest of the guys/ gals were great too! Will definitely be back.

Dinner booked for 3 friends. Very busy when arrived. Very slow service, ordered starters, very pitiful, one of them nachos with chicken (it turned out to be hunt the chicken). We waited about an hour for main course due to there being a wedding on we were informed. When food came, cold, congealed sauce. Waiter apologised. Ended up not charging for main courses. Will not return.

Food was mediocre, but they did take a really bad dish off the bill. The service was lovely at times and rude at others. Drinks were nice.

Lovely visit here in January during their 50% off mains deal. Extensive menu 👍 Staff were fantastic & friendly 👌 the only real criticism was the steak I ordered was slightly tough, but still very tasty 😋 & it was their quiz night (Wednesdays) which I didn’t know about, so a bit rowdy at times. Still, a great evening spent catching up with a friend over some delicious cocktails, food & wine ☺️ thank you!

I give 4* just because it is quite pricey place… I know it’s Edinburgh center and you get good quality food and drinks, but now when a lot ppl struggle i think it’s difficult to get a lot customers in.. so it was quite quiet. A great find with an amazing atmosphere and vibe. A little of the beaten track but well worth the effort. Very friendly and welcoming without door heated seating. Food was very tasty and varied, I thoroughly loved the Rueben sandwich and fries?, the haggis bon bons very just as amazing and full of flavour.

Ordered the peri peri chicken burger. The chicken itself was seasoned nicely but the lettuce was old and brown. It also said it came with coleslaw which meant a teaspoon amount of red cabbage shavings. For the price, it could have done with two breasts on the burger at least. Affogato was the tiniest amount of ice cream but was nice. Again for the price, should have been more than 3 churros Our server was nice and the food came in good time. Also prepare yourself for a huge service fee

We came here as part of a hen do day out. This was our first stop for lunch and drinks and it set the standard for the day. Lovely place and we got free prosecco on arrival. Drinks were delicious, menu was full of choice and everyone was impressed. Only downside could be that it was Christmas time so there were a lot of parties/gatherings so it was a bit loud but we would not hesitate to come back here.

Good atmosphere… Haggis bon bon is good, the rest is moderate to our taste I would expect more Asian-Scottish fusion food 😊

Staff are so welcoming and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. We popped in on off chance see if we could secure a table - the place was packed due to Xmas events but the lovely lady host found us a table explaining that there was a band on at 9.00 p.m and some of the tables would be moved but this was not an issue for us. Our lovely waitress Rowan worked like a Trojan and did not let standards drop. There is a standard service charge cover of £7.00 which we did not mind as all the staff worked so hard and were super nice despite it being a bit manically busy. Food was fab as well - lots of vegetarian choices.

I keep coming back here. Why? Was meeting friends there yesterday but forgot it was the start of Christmas party season and they were very busy. However, their front of house lead looked after us, found us a table between bookings for a couple of hours. As usual, the food and service was great. Thank you.

Great place for a meal. Seating for 9 was no problem. Great menu and very atmospheric.

Went for a late lunch. Minute steak was decent and a mound of chips. There was a Problem with my starter though as the pulled pork tacos were cold and with a very large amount of cabbage/kimchi. This was seen to in an exemplary manner by the top class Rowan. She has a winning personality and appeared to be top class re her job - she's an absolute asset to the Montpelier Group.

Has all the vibes you'd expect of a pub where students go to get sloshed. The music is overwhelming and the prices (save for the Christmas cocktail specials) were exorbitant for what was on offer. Staff seemed rushed, but they were very nice and attentive. Impossible to have a conversation with your companion, though, because of the noise. Foodwise, Indigo Yard is uniquely bad. Very basic menu, though with a good selection of starters and burgers (you wanna get here before 5 to get the two-for-one mains offer so you can get your burger on, if that's your thing). We had the steak and ale pie with cream cheese mash, the bread plate, and the halloumi avocado wrap with chips. Nothing was tasty. The bread was mediocre, seemed like it'd been tossed on the grill for 30 seconds, and the oil and balsamic dressing they gave us to dip the bread in tasted cheap, lacked any sort of seasoning (no salt or pepper), and is in a little copper dish buried under the bread. The cream cheese mash was decent, but the pie was dreadful. The mishmash of meats wasn't filling, the carrots were hard and undercooked, the puff pastry was dry and inedible, and the predominant flavor of the stew was water and tomato puree. The greens we got were incredibly wilted, way too sad to even be considered garnish. The ketchup they provide is 90% vinegar. The halloumi avocado wrap is an eclectic mix of shelf-stable ingredients that sadly do not complement each other, and the wrap itself falls apart as soon as you bite into it. The fries are fine if you like those freezer-section pop-em-in-the-microwave fries they sell in grocery stores. Hollow husks of potato, bland-tasting, hardly oily, only a step above crisps. It's a disappointing meal if you make it at home or get it in a grocery store, but it's truly unjustifiable to charge £15 for each of these meals and £5 for the bread. They didn't even have rhubarb soda in stock :(

What a rip off ! This is the second time that we have been to Indigo Yard for their so called 241 offer on mains during October. On both occasions despite booking a table for 241 we have been billed for the full amount which has meant we have had to request a revised bill. This is not only embarrassing but also raises the question, is this policy to see if the staff can get away with it! In addition to this when presented with the new bill I asked to include 10% tip, the waitress then handed me the card machine with the various tips to include, I pressed the digit to include 10% tip. What the waitress didn’t say was that there was already 12.5% added to the bill so in total I paid 22.5% tip !!!! This is a dishonest practice and all customers should be aware of this. We would normally have numerous family festive outings to Indigo Yard , not this year we are going somewhere that is not out to rip us off !!! It’s a real shame as the food was great but the staff, well what’s that all about ?

I would highly recommend that you stay clear of this establishment, me and my family will never return, we went for a meal to celebrate the birthday of my late father in law. On arrival i went to the bar to order drinks with my daughter, first problem, bar manager, burgundy shirt and beard just for the record for the owners of this establishment. Was unbelievably rood, not a good start. He was clearly agitated and should definitely not be working in this industry. Don't sniff at work! Moving forward the kitchen staff clearly had the same thing going on as the food was a massive let down also. We have been supporting this establishment throughout the hard times but unfortunately we will never return.

The pub quiz was the worst from all the 9 quizzes that I’ve attended in this city (and some of them I visited multiple times). Can’t hear anything from the quiz master, too noisy, the answers are recorded digitally which for sure gives a chance for people to cheat. And… there is not a single break! Very disappointed. Never again. The place is nice tho

Visited with work colleagues for drinks after work. Went to bar which was very quiet. Ordered drinks and made 2 trips to carry them to table. Astonished to find 12% service charged added. For what? No one offered table service and no-one highlighted there was...

Plain menu. Over extensive really, trying to please all types. Food, boring, boring, boring. An avocado and halloumi wrap - 15 quid. Buy the same in Tesco for 2.65

This is a great spot for a Boozy Brunch with friends. The cocktails and food were all lovely when we were there with a group of friends.

It is a cozy restaurant, plenty of beers but the menu is not that big. I was a little disappointed when I got the steak. Flat as a paper, and over done. The pepper saus was way to salty. Visit for the ambiance but won’t recommend the steak.

We booked a table online around 4 hours before the start of the rugby world cup match (Scotland v SA) and we're pleasantly surprised to find a table for 4 at this place. Loads of other bars were fully booked. What can we say but...

I love coming to indigo yard on a fri evening to see Bleeker playing who are wonderful, Lauren and Harris never disappoint they have the place jumping such a good atmosphere they made my friend claires 40th she had such a good night.cocktails where fabby look forward to returning soon.

Visited Edinburgh and decided to have a dinner at this place as our hotel was close to this. Me and my family enjoyed the food and the beer. We all agree that we would come back next time in Edinburgh.

Visited indigo yard on Wednesday night for gooses quiz night. Really enjoyed our quiz and it was topped with great service from Susannah. She was attentive and made sure me and my friends were taken care of. Also had a really nice Picante Margarita :)
