I took my husband for Sunday Lunch. It was a treat for his 50th birthday. I’d emailed a week before, because we wanted a table for 4 people and I didn’t know if it would be busy, being our first visit. I had no reply back to my email, consequently our guests had to cancel. I phoned a few days before to book just for the two of us, explained my dietary restrictions and said it was a special birthday. Non of these were mentioned when we arrived which I thought strange. I think they thought we were a walk in. Anyway it looked lovely in the dining room and was tastefully decorated and we were looking forward to our meal. We were served quickly and ordered the beetroot tar tare/vegetarian nut roast, pork fries/roast Welsh lamb rump. Our food came out quickly and looked amazing. I loved the baked goats cheese with the beetroot tar tare, it was heavenly. My husband wasn’t that enamoured with the pork fries, he said they weren’t crispy and the sriracha mayo had unfortunately been slopped in the pot and run down the sides, which didn’t look good. Our main course was seriously fantastic, really big portions. My husband’s lamb was cooked pink, which he loves and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. I was dubious about my nut roast, when I saw it on the menu my heart sank because I thought it unadventurous and would taste like stuffing, I was pleasantly surprised! It was really good food and the vegetable side dishes were really delicious. The dauphinois potatoes and celeriac purée(I think it was) were gorgeous. It was fantastic value for money and I’d definitely recommend coming here. I just think there were a few small things which could have been improved upon. We didn’t like the fact a dog that was with a couple was eating from a plate at the table and the toilet I’d used had really needed checking. All in all it was a lovely meal and my husband really enjoyed himself. We would eat here again.

Very good hotel with an excellent location. The associated restaurant is also highly recommended. It offers a varied menu of fine cuisine. There are various choices for breakfast and everything is freshly prepared.

Incredible beef roast dinner, great portion size. Had the Famous JT pork fries for starter which were ok but not sure if they were for me.

Went for dinner. Food v nice though I will say the poached egg was ever so slightly over done. But steak cooked perfectly and staff were extremely friendly. Will go again.

Restaurant is fabulous. Excellent food and service, and the dining is very nicely decorated. Great place for a nice meal out or a date night. Can't comment on the hotel rooms.

Excellent service and delightful food with a very convivial atmosphere, I would thoroughly recommend the dining here. Sufficiently wide choice of courses, we three enjoyed them very much.

We only came for dinner here so Can’t comment on the rooms. The food was the best we had on our short break in Wales. The service was excellent, the cocktails marvellous and the pricing very reasonable for food of this quality. A must visit.

Although there was a large group about to be served we were kept aware of how long our order would be, which was a reasonable amount of time. The club sandwich we both had was the best ever.

Traditional hotel, with pleasant open bar + restaurant inside. Friendly, genuine welcome. One of few places open for 11's coffee on a Sunday. Will revisit for a weekday lunch soon.

We have had two really special dinners at the restaurant at Abergwaun Hotel over the last few months. Both times the staff have all been fantastic. The menus are thoughtfully put together and served stylishly, tasting divine. There's a good wine-selection and a well stocked bar with local tipples. We thoroughly enjoyed a 7 course tasting menu of locally sourced produce. I am thoroughly glad they have opened and sincerely hope that they remain so for years and years to come. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

We ate here last year for our Xmas works do and had totally amazing food, this year however was totally different. I had salmon for starters and was presented with 3 small thin slices of salmon on a shop bought crumpet, cold too, did have sprinkle of pomegranate though. Main I had gammon, it was so hard and dried up I couldn't cut it , I literally cut my gum on it, sprouts were fab though. Pudding was cheese board, one small piece of blue cheese, a tiny mince pie and only 4 biscuits. Disappointment goes nowhere near how I felt about this xmas meal, probably ranks in my 3 worse meals I've ever had, and I eat out a lot, people of fishguard think twice about eating here, I certainly will in the future. 👎👎👎

It was lovely! We arrived late at night from the ferry but someone was there to welcome us. Our room was great and the bed and pillows were so comfortable - just what needed after day travelling! Breakfast this morning was great and all the staff friendly and welcoming. There is no parking outside but there was plenty nearby

My partner and myself visited here twice over the jazz festival weekend and it was so good. We're both vegan and the options were FANTASTIC. We had soup and a sandwich which was really filling, tasty and full of veg. Then we had Sunday dinner which I can only describe as art in my mouth. The best I've ever had! (Sorry Mam!) Can't wait to come back next year

Wow this was the BEST Sunday Roast meal I have ever had. My husband had the lamb and I had the beef - the meats were so tender and tasty, and all the fixings were perfect. We loved the cauliflower/broccoli cheese and the dauphinois potatoes! The servings were very generous. The restaurant itself was beautiful and all the staff were very kind, especially to our infant son. It was our first time visiting Fishguard and this meal made it extra memorable!
