Lovely wee shop attached to the restaurant.

Stopped by at 3pm for lunch - drove from afar. The lady working in the restaurant was quite rude in explaining that we cannot have lunch and the kitchen is closed. Seeing that the dishes were still coming out for other guests we asked if we can be the last client. She was definite in her stance and rolling her eyes showed us the way out. Whatever the schedule of the restaurant, the encounter was unpleasant and she spoiled our mood. There also not many restaurants around hence they feel they can speak to potential clients this way. The schedule in Google provides that they work until 8pm with no break. Disappointing.

Excellent hot or cold seafood platter

Amazing food...there are no words to describe how good it was & well worth the money spent. The young waitress (with glasses) was absolutely lovely, good sense of humour & patient with an oldie with a crab sensitivity. Its a busy little place, so next time we would book ahead of going. A really great lunch experience & one that i would highly reccommend...

I am a little bit angry and quite disappointed with this place. The reviews tell a very different story and perhaps set our expectations a little too high. Location is stunning, and there is definitely an opportunity to rennovate the balcony with heaters and a trellace for better ambience in Spring/Summer months. The young team of staff looking after the tables were lovely and did a good job. The food, however, was the biggest frustration. We ordered the seafood platter, and perhaps this was our mistake. £120 - huuge plate of seafood, a slice of bread each and a small ramican of very mustardy alioli (which was actually fairly nice). Whilst the tower of seafood looked incredible, it was pretty awful to eat. The centrepiece lobster had tomalley all over the centre meat - no a biggie but definitely not very appealing to look at. The biggest problem was how dry and overcooked everything was. I'm assuming that everything is chucked into a big pot and steamed for the same amount of time. It just lacked flavour and was a real challenge to eat. We ended eating about half and leaving it. It's disappointing given the rave reviews of the place. I think if we'd order individual dishes (which looked far, far better), they may have been cooked better. Maybe it would be better to phase out the platter into stages and cook different shellfish seperately with appropriate cook times with olive oil, garlic, and parsley. Finally, I'm angry because we had to go to co-op to grab some food after paying £120 for a seafood platter that was really, really not great.

Excellent food and the location is just a bit remote to give it the feel of a country restaurant off the beaten path.

Nice staff, lovely view but sadly a mediocre hot seafood platter, honey glazed carrots and cullen skink (the scallops in the platter and the potato side were the highlight). We felt that sadly this place was a bit overhyped and overpriced.

Honest review - sadly this place is extremely overrated. Did not have a good experience in here. The waitress was very nice, but that's about it. Food took forever to be served. Fish was bland, sides were bland. How can a famous fish restaurant serve such mediocre fish?! I don't get it. Felt like they didn't want us to be there even though we were one quiet couple hungry for a tasty dinner. Extremely overpriced and not at all worthy of the acclaim it has received. The tiny gift shop in the same building has better food & gifts than the restaurant. Save your time & money and go somewhere else in the Glencoe area so you don't end up extremely disappointed and hungry for another real meal like we did. I'm blown away that people are giving this place 5 stars when I can't even give it more than 2. Very strange.

A great local cafe if you love seafood! Offers vegetarian options. Friendly service. Great location. I would recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

Great fresh seafood. Ok service. Freshly baked bread and croissants(in the morning). Good variety of alcohol, including awesome local beers. Not much parking places. Great view from the windows. No highchairs for kids.

We had our wedding supper here recently and the owners were extremely helpful and kind and set us a gorgeous table overlooking the Loch, the food was a delicious banquet. Amazing place serving the best, ethically sourced seafood. Could not reccomend more! 5*'s from us (:

Popped in here for a quick bite unfortunately didn't book but still accommodated me no probs. Wow the menu looks fantastic and what I saw of other dishes a fish lovers paradise. Only had a quick sandwich and drink but wish I'd of ordered more.

A bit disappointed with this restaurant, meal was very uneven, for a seafood restaurant I was unimpressed on the fish being overcooked, the clams as well , they were very busy and the kitchen perhaps a bit overstretched

Disappointed after such high expectations. Food looked better than it tasted. Langoustines overcooked, crab roll overpowered by dressing, couldn’t taste the crab at all. Seafood soup lacking in taste, cullen skink needing more liquid. Very friendly service but sadly left very disappointed as have been wanting to come for years and had hoped for a quality experience.

We arrived as a walk in here , met at the entrance with a smile , we hadn't booked but they made an effort to squeeze us in , brilliant service and amazing food , we will be back 👏

This was recommended in a passing conversation as we travelled from Carlisle. Absolutely stunning location and the lobster was wonderful. Sitting outside on the patio with the sun on my face and a cold glass of wine was perfect.

Wonderful place to eat seafood, or other things if seafood isn't your thing. Such care was taken with everything, including the wonderful gluten free bread. What a treat. Staff were friendly and the view is fab, nothing but good things to say. Go find out.

This is our favorite restaurant in Scotland, period. If you are driving pass this area, please please please make every effort to visit Lochleven Seafood Cafe if you can. When we arrived, we were starving and scared we'd almost miss the last order cut-off, but the staff were very friendly and did not rush our order at all. For starters we ordered the oyster and daily soup, then we ordered the fresh lobster, vongoli (clam spaghetti), langoustine, and scallops as mains. The highlight of the night was definitely the fresh lobster, it had nice grilled marks, cooked to perfection. It was by far the "freshest" lobster I've had. The meat is so tender and juicy, and just tasted amazing. The other dishes were just as good and we finished everything. Although we ordered a lot of food, we were able to save some room for dessert, and their sticky toffee pudding did not disappoint. Highly recommend and this will definitely be our most memorable restaurants to dine in on our list. Thanks for the great food!

We visited on their last day open, we had crab and lobster and the food was fresh and very tasty. Will be going back next time we are in the area.

Wow, wow, wow. Great seafood. The mussels were excellent, as were the langoustinos and the Spaghetti Vongole, a dream. Insanely nice service :)

The prices are pretty decent. The waitress seemed indifferent. The meals are smaller portions but the food tasted good.

This was our second visit, both down to us taking a diversion from our necessary route in order to get there. Definitely worth the extra miles! The restaurant/cafe is simply laid-out, nothing too fancy or overly pretentious. So a lot like the food itself. The ingredients are always the main attraction. Extraordinarily fresh seafood, superbly prepared with simple dressings, butters and garnishes. Although you CAN spend a fortune here - you really don't need to. If you just want some fantastic food and can live without the lobster or the oysters, you can eat well for £30-£35 per head. Excellent! The staff are also an asset. Always friendly and accommodating.

26 of us turned up for a light lunch....we had booked.....they really looked after us....food was superb as was the service.....can't wait for next year

The mixed seafood platter was lovely and tasty and readied in 10 minutes flat? £120 for two with a great mixture. I only down scored as the large crab, which had been cut in two to assist, was empty. The manageress tried to help find it with a fork, but both halves were crab meat free and I mean cleaned out.. The lady politely explained it could be the season and that some had less crab. The claws were smallish and held a very small dry portion. I'm too old to argue and otherwise enjoyed a special meal but please don't tell me there are good size crabs in the sea completely empty. Even more confused the manageress didn't even knock a little off the 120. Such a shame for a nice place.

Simply phenomenal 👏 Well done to Alison and the team for creating this most gorgeous of seafood stops just across the water from Glencoe Village. An absolute gem of a restaurant & cafe and so well thought out. It's so good in fact...you really need to book to avoid disappointment. My friends had an enormous seafood sharing platter, mussels, clams with linguine and halibut. I opted for a veggie salad but they did a couple of meat dishes too. Kinlochleven is an understated village adjacent to Glencoe village , easily accessible from the Ballachulish Bridge then turn right for a couple of miles. There's also the Grey Mares waterfall near the little village and probably one of the finest routes back towards Invercoe & Glencoe village. A fabulous 14 mile loop with a hidden gem of a foodie paradise , making it more than worth the effort.

Made it out here on a rainy Sunday night in Glencoe, and the place was packed. That should tell you something. Casual dining atmosphere, but I’ll wager you couldn’t find fresher and better-prepared seafood at a Michelin-starred eatery. As far as I could tell, only three people were working the floor, yet the wonderfully personable servers were keeping up. The food? Couldn’t be fresher - it’s mostly all caught in the loch - and flat-out delicious. She had Coley, I had the Haddock. Nice selection of wines. Fabulous.

Had the most amazing Takeaway Seafood Platter for 2 yesterday. Wonderful selection of the most delicious, fresh seafood you could ever ask for. We’ve had it before and will definitely be having it again. Great service, and lovely little gifts in the shop too.

We stopped here for lunch when heading north a few weeks ago and were so glad we did. We didn't have a booking but that wasn't an issue and we were made feel welcome from the minute a staff member spoke to us and advised that we could have a table. We shared some lovely fresh oysters to start and they were excellent. We also shared some lovely fish pate and bread. The mains were just fantastic. My companion had the scallops and there were eight perfectly cooked and presented on the plate. She loved them. I got a cold seafood platter and I was delighted when it was served, it looked awesome and I couldn't fault it. Everything was just so fresh and tasty. The half a lobster, half a crab, a couple of oysters, three or four large langoustines, a load of surf clams and mussels and a couple of razor clams and some dips. Brilliant. The only disappointment was when I had scoffed the lot and couldn't find any more delicious shellfish on the large and great value for money platter. We cannot wait to return as the food and service were excellent and cannot be faulted and the dining space is nice yet casual. Thanks again for a fabulous meal.

I've wanted to visit here for a few years and last Friday I got my chance to go. My friend drove from Glasgow so I could take in the stunning views on the way up. Well worth the drive. We got there at midday and it was already filling up. So I would advise booking a table. We had a table by the window which had amazing views over the loch and mountains the other side. We chose a kilo of mussels cooked in cider as a starter and a hot plater for one to share as a main. The food was amazing the mussels were big fat and so fresh 😋😋😋. I could have had this again as main. But the Hot plater for one was just as amazing. And to finish the time of perfectly we managed to get to chat with the owner Alison who was warm and friendly.

Finally got to go. Travelled to lochleven on a beautiful sunny day. What a stunning part of the world and nestled on Lochside isa piece of seafood heaven. Had the plater. Was amazing. Staff are lovely. If you haven't been get yourself along. Well worth the visit. And got to say hello to John who I sold razors to many years ago

Absolutely sensational scran. I had carrot & coriander soup to start, wild halibut with extra roast potatoes & honey-glazed carrots as a main course, rounded off by the chocolate & orange tart. Every course absolutely perfect: best seafood I’ve eaten in the UK, 100%. Vegetables delicious into the bargain. My girlfriend had tomato & feta salad to start proceedings, coupled with a small portion (which looked enormous but was just right) of both mussels and langoustine as the main event, with sticky toffee pudding to finish. Her reviews were as raveworthy as mine; every course consisting of simply beautifully fresh, brilliantly cooked and prepared food, served by friendly, knowledgeable people (we had to have langoustine-dismantling lessons, which were delivered in that wonderful way that doesn’t make one feel like a complete idiot) and all in one hell of a picturesque setting! Try if you’re in the area. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful seafood restaurant. We went early, and they were able to squeeze us in without a reservation. If you have time, definitely book ahead. It gets insanely busy, and you will know why once you eat here. The service was amazing considering how busy it was. The chef put out fabulous food every time. Sticky toffee pudding was just awesome with the homemade ice cream. Really great experience.

Book this place. I drive up from Glasgow to eat here. This is one of the last authentic seafood restaurants. You can get hot or cold seafood platters or buy each product in 500gr or 1kg. The seafood is incredibly fresh and very affordable.

The restaurant was recommended by someone from the chalet we stayed 5 minutes drive from the restaurant. It was fully booked on a Monday evening, but we managed to get the last table available. We did not know what to expect and it was beyond our expectations, the food was incredible, type of haute cuisine. For anyone near Fort Williams and Glencoe, I truly recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic bustling cafe - we went on a Sunday afternoon without a booking, and we’re warmly welcomed by staff. In future I would definitely book to be safe though, as it did get busy and some people without booking who came after us were turned away. A fantastic choice of menu - mainly shell fish, but with a handful of grill and fish options too with a salad for anyone who might fancy. Portions are a fantastic size for the price ! COFFE, cakes and puddings were also an option, as well as take away food. There is in addition a shop where you can purchase gifts and confectionery, as well as fresh sea food readily prepared to cook.

Absolutely first-class experience. They cater for Coliacs so bonus. Every dish is beautifully prepared and presented. Staff are lovely, polite, and attentive. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely be going back.

Excellent seafood! Had Cullen Skink and Halibut that was perfect. Wife had salad and Filet of Coley that made me jealous with it great flavor. Perfectly cooked. Beautiful view of Loch across rd. on perfectly beautiful day! Perfect ending to a perfect day!

We visited this place during our stay at Glencoe. A restaurant, cafe and shop at one place. Seafood is fresh and reasonably priced and delicious . I've been waiting to come here for some years. Got the opportunity recently on a short break in the area. The Cafe was moderately busy, though we had booked. The welcome was genuine, the staff pleasant, with smiles and good humour. The service was quick and efficient. The food fabulous. Loved every minute of our stay. Sat inside for food, outside for aperitifs and for coffee after. A brilliant experience. looking forward to going back.

Seafood was VERY fresh and yet the next door seafood factory didn’t smell!! Excellent seafood, superb service, great beer/wine list!!

Stopped off for coffee and the most amazing homemade shortbread biscuits. Service was very friendly and the location is stunning. Bought some smoked salmon from the shop and it was delicious. The food menu looked great so we'll definitely be back.

Nettes verstecktes Restaurant. Ich hatte den Lobster und mein Essen war klare 5 Sterne, aber der Rest meiner Familie war nicht so glücklich mit dem Geschmack des Fisches und der Spaghetti (Kinder). Von daher haben wir uns auf 4 Sterne geeinigt. Sonst war alles gut.

The freshest and the best seafood you can possibly get . The shellfish are grown in Loch Leven right in front of your table. We were very lucky to get a table after a last minute decision to visit, but booking is very good idea....

Beautiful location by Loch Leven...super fast service even when the cafe was almost full. You can sit inside, on the patio with gorgeous views of loch Leven or even just by the loch at the picnic tables. Cannot recommend this place enough to anyone visiting the area. Plenty of free parking outside.

We have a fabulous lunch here with friends and the food, service and location were all fabulous and would go back in a heartbeat, we have seafood, Crab, Dover Sole, Mussels and sticky toffee pudding all of which were lovely 😊😊
