Mash & Barrel in Gwynedd

The place only had 2*s on here but had no where else to go with two hungry children. I ordered steak with chips, husband had burger and skin on fries, kids had popcorn chicken and chips. All food was fantastic, service was fantastic highly recommend.

Sticky unclean table. Food was awful, salad was dying all brown and soggy. Food was iver priced and you pay airport prices for an alcoholic beverage. Outrageous. We cooked ourselves each night after this experience.

The Sunday carvery was lovely. Well presented and plenty of it. The staff behind the bar serving drinks were quite slow in realising people were waiting to be served,and when they did serve people, they didn't come across as being happy to be there. I would go as far to say that they seemed miserable in their work.

Went twice only ate once. 1st time - Had no problem with the food, service was non existent. 2nd time - says breakfast served till 1130am online. We was in restaurant at 1050 - no service, went up to order at 11.05am and the lady said “only serve till 11 - it should say 11 online it must be an error”. She wouldn’t cook us 2 sausage barms …so had to go back to the caravan for the car and head out off site for breakfast. Not ideal. Also dead fly’s all over the window sill, dreadful

Mash and Barrel was a lovely place to go and eat. They're currently only serving on a booked table basis so you have to book prior to going. The staff then choose you a table and it's full table service. Staff are polite and regularly check on you. Food was great and didn't look like it came out of a microwave which you find at some pub food serving restaurants. It was all homemade and presented beautifully. They are amazing at making adjustments (swapping bits of meals to better suit) We visited twice during our stay at Haven Greenacres and I would have loved to try more off the Menu as everything we had we thoroughly enjoyed!!

Booked in early so no issue with getting a table, Food wasn't bad but a tad expensive for what it was. Also had to wait almost an hour for our mains when the starters arrived quite promptly so not a great experience overall

Turned away at 19:10 on a Sunday evening. Ran out of meat would you believe. All the one star reviews on here are totally justified, it’s just a dreadfully run place.

Here's your text rewritten in British English: We arrived at the restaurant around ten minutes to four and took a seat at a table, as there were no signs or staff to suggest otherwise. A few minutes later, a young lady informed us they don't accept walk-ins after 4pm, even though it wasn't yet 4. Nonetheless, I approached the desk to make a "reservation" and was astonished to hear there was no immediate availability because the restaurant was fully booked. This seemed ludicrous given that only three tables were occupied. I mused if perhaps 30+ families might appear in the next ten minutes (said with a touch of irony). Although we were told to wait ten minutes, we were seated in just one. However, we were informed it would be about ten minutes before we could place an order. To our surprise, someone took our order in less than a minute. I sat there, pondering what sort of farce this was. Our food and drinks arrived swiftly and were satisfactory. Throughout our time at the restaurant, only a few more families arrived, leaving 20 to 30 tables conspicuously vacant. The entire approach to customer service was a shambles. They were either fabricating the story about the restaurant being full or were simply inept. I wouldn't recommend it for this reason.

Had a carvery on Sunday very quiet in the restrant only a few tables were taken . The meat was very nice but veg was cold and hard and gravy was really runny . The staff were very good and helpfull . The best bit was the music there were very good songs playing .

Slow service, always and I mean always something missing from the menu and not just 1 thing a multitude of things. One evening there was no corn on the cob for kids / pop corn chicken / garlic bread. Like this stuff is not in hard demand FFS. Last day we stayed at the caravan we got breakfast here. Must have waited an hour for breakfast to be served. We ordered two full breakfasts to be told when it was brought to the table sorry no mushrooms left. That was it. This place only still gets customers because it’s so convenient for holiday makers on the caravan site. Wouldn’t recommend. Should be called bend you over the barrel.

Came with my family for tea. We got served by Connor. All I can say he made our experience here the best. He was such a breath of fresh air he was funny, polite could not do enough to help you. The resteraunt it self had ran our of alot of food which was not great, the food was nice but average. The only reason for high rating was customer service off Connor (young lad from manchester)

they do not do gluten free food, in fact i was made to feel awkward for asking. the restaurant is very dirty (tables not cleaned) and uninviting.

Unfortunately, I have to leave a 1 star.. but if I could I'd leave none. I'm sure the food tastes lovely but you have to actually get a seat to have a meal, every night we asked it was "full" (would've booked online but the signal isn't great) however their was quite alot of spare seats. It is dog friendly however seats are limited.. very limited. I'd recommend going to another pub in the area like The Ship Inn/ Y Llong ( 4.3 🌟), The Australia (4.4 🌟) or Tafarn Pencei (4.4 🌟).. all are dog friendly and have nice reviews. I'm honestly not surprised the mash and barrel greenacres has 2.2 🌟 rating.. When you ask for a table the servers/table booking people only seem to have 2 sentences " it's fully booked tonight" or "we don't serve food right now" (not sure what kind of pub it is.. if you can even call it a pub, but I'm pretty sure most restaurant/pub places sell food..) The food is also very *overpriced* - if you actually get a chance to look at the menu (we had a brief look but then was told they didn't server food..) If your thinking about going to the mash and barrel. Just don't. Im sure their is a nicer pub/restaurant to spend some money on nice quality food and spend time with family.

Wow dog friendly area is tiny, app doesn't work for booking, so turned up on three different occasions to he told they are fully booked? But loads of tables free. Very disappointing that they a re u able to cater for people especially in peak season. After all that's they job Nd service that should be easy to do. After all food isn't challenging at all to cook ( I know I cook for a living). So went elsewhere.

Seated in dog friendly corner where table obviously not been cleaned from previous user, chairs all torn, no one came to take order after 15 mins waiting and obviously not, busy at all as had a hungry vocal 2 year old left to find food elsewhere? Very disappointing as was last, night on Camp and only time decided to eat out.

Can honestly say that was the worst food I’ve eaten in my nearly 40 years of life and as a large party of 8 people with two nearly 80 year olds with us the very unpleasant member of staff that served the carvery was very rude as we were deciding what to eat said with such a bad attitude well speak! Most unhelpful Restaurant manager ever. Unable to book tables due to being a Charity visitor, and not given log in details to pre-book. Also the Haven app was down on this visit, Went up to restaurant to book and was told several times no slots available that suited us. We had 3 kids under 3 and were wanting early sittings, but never able to give us a time that suited. Told they work on a 15 max booking per 15 minutes, god help them when it gets busy in the summer. Been to many Haven sites over the years and never had to pre book always just rocked up and been made welcome

Booked a table for 6pm. Asked if we could attend at 5:30 as the venue quiet to be informed that we would have to wait until 6pm. At 6pm no staff around to book in and finally found a table that would better sit 4 people than 5. At 6:30 pm and no one attended to take a food or drink order. We left the restaurant and didn't eat there, probably won't go there again and will eat off site for the duration of our visit. I have stayed at many different sites and this is the poorest service from any site we ever stayed at. Haven really need to look at the staff work ethic here. The restaurant should be thriving here as the setting isn't bad.

Had dinner here on a Sunday evening, it was pretty quiet with only about 10 tables of customers. Service was good, waitress was attentive and food arrived in about 15 mins. After reading previous reviews I was aware that menu availability was an issue so I had about 4 dinner options in my head in case they had run out of stuff, unfortunately they had run out of everything I was to have. They had run out of loads of stuff, at least 10 menu items, they even ran out of chicken! I ended up having a bowl of nachos for my dinner, it was fine but not really dinner. I couldn't even have chilli on it because they ran out of that too. My husband had gammon which he enjoyed. Food arrived promptly and was hot, quality of what we ate was good and on par with normal pub grub. The management really need to review their menu availability as it's clearly an ongoing issue that they keep running out.

It's ok if you find yourself in Haven to entertain the kids, as it only has to compete with their in-house fish and chip shop. But in truth it's not great.

Went at 7.15pm tonight only to be told they stopped serving meals at 7.00pm - really why? Surely 7.00pm to 8.00pm is the most popular time to eat out? Don't know what is happening at Greenacres but service is not a priority. They don't even open until midday so no breakfasts are available either. It's not even a quite site on a sunny mid June day. Oh well, maybe it's not so bad, reading other reviews the quality is substandard anyway, We don't know? Service and quality was always great here in previous years. Ended up with a takeaway fish and chips, Oh well!

This place is ok for a pint but the food is shocking quality and pour quantity definitely not value for money , Ripped chairs in the restaurant, the girl allocating seating has a face like a smacked ? I’m glad they’re not robbing £8000 out of my bank per year the place must be full of mugs. And no bloody air con in a brand new bar it’s horrible uncomfortable sitting in there .

Barely anything available off the menu. Very overpriced for food and drink. Be prepared for London prices. Bar staff are nice enough but not very attentive. They served people who appeared after we arrived at the bar.

Place was clean and tidy. Ordered and food gammon / chips / peas arrived fairly quickly. I was happily eating the chips. I eat very slowly, noticed my husband wasn't happy, he told me to check my gammon, omg just like his meal it was cold both the gammon and peas. My husband kept eating as he can tolerate food cold if he's hungry and that night he was starving, I sent my meal back. OK they replaced it with hot meal but the gammon was worse I've ever had.

we came to mash and barrel for a quick meal for convenience and to get out of the rain. the meal was not quick. it took a long time for the food to arrive and the food was cold and not what was put out on the menu. this was my make a wish foundation choice. and there noodles were not so noodly. other than that the chips are lovely and the environment is great as well as the park being a fantastic choice for the family. thanks mash and barrel 😘😻🕳️🚶🤘🤘

Visited 29 th March 2023. Ordered drinks at table, got wrong drinks. Ordered deluxe burger , and pasta cajun. Very basic food, overpriced similar to drinks overpriced. Wouldn't recommend.

Advertised 2 for £15 Sunday roast. Booked for 17:15 week before. Got there and sat down, ordered drinks, asked to order food and no roasts left! 2 young kids and being a Sunday, no big shops open. Choice of either get ripped off with other outlets on site or go hungry. Sign was still outside Advertising! False Advertising?!Avoid! Rude and no apology! Shocking service Won't be buying the static here now if that's the way they treat you

Avoid, avoid, avoid! Advertised offers and then say they have sold out when you get there. Waitress didn't even understand that Stowford Press was a cider! 2 hungry kids on a Sunday afternoon after we had to go back to the caravan and sort an alternative meal. Haven would be better shutting this restaurant, fantastic site but The Mash & Barrel has left me fuming! Speaking to other people here, they also had shocking service. Table next to us complained about wrong meal and the reply was, "shall I just get your bill then?" We just walked out as no roosts left and drinking prices were a joke

Regretted going here. Family of 4 and a toddler. We popped in for a quick lunch as it was on site and saved us going into town. Took 45 mins for the 2 soups to arrive (and apparently they only had 1 soup spoon on the whole premises) and it was an hour for the other food to appear. When asked at the till I said I’d prefer it all to come together. Considering one of these was a kid’s meal and we could only see literally a few other tables with customers it was mind boggling how it could take this long. It was basic pub food as well, I’ve worked in kitchens and know how easy it is to make. Honestly feels like this is beyond poor service, something seems fundamentally broken with the system. Maybe no one was working in the kitchen? Looking at other reviews this doesn’t seem like an isolated experience. I wouldn’t advise people to go here, you may as well take the drive into Porthmadog. To be fair to one guy, there was a member of staff who brought us the good and offered to reimburse for one of the plates as it took so long. So silver linings.

Me and my family arrived, immediately, no staff on the door. Waited 10 minutes to even be acknowledged, let alone sat down. Finally we were seated, we attempted to order via the QR code, which unfortunately, failed. Therefore we continued to wait a further 15 minutes to have our order taken. The gentleman serving us had such lack of motivation, didn’t feel welcomed what so ever. I ordered the penne pasta, when i got served i was in complete disbelief. Very poorly presented, so plain, and had 3 strips of mature cheddar cheese plonked on top as garnish. Although i scoffed it down my gullet like a pregnant horse it does not take away from the fact it tasted of complete trash. Moments later i had to dip to the bruce ‘bog’ trotter to quite frankly spew. Now, hours later i’m laying in bed with a rather queasy feel in my stomach, feeling like i could throw my guts up any second now. No good nights sleep for me, especially when needed for my 9am swimming session tomorrow. Rated a poor 1 star from me.

We have literally had one good experience here in over 10 years of visiting this site. We tryed again last night, hoping they might of improved. We were limited in options due to our children wanting to take part in the kiddies entertainment and the time it was taking place. As soon as we got there no one was front of house to seat us. We waited 10 mins before we grabbed a member of staff to tell them we were waiting. Young member of staff then attended to us where he clearly had no idea to how to find our booking on the system. Once he worked it out he showed us to our table and gave us the Sunday menus on a saturday night! We again sat for 10 mins. No one attended to us. The last time we visited their was table service. We decided to go to the bar to see if we can actually order some food. Our kids were starving! Once food was ordered we were told there was a 50 minute wait! Unbelievable. It was not even full. The food we did see being dished up is basic at best so no idea what the hell is going on in the kitchen and how you can get so far behind. You won't be surprised to hear we walked out with two very hungry children. Absolute joke of a place. Terrible service. Do not waste your time.. Go into Porthmadog or Tremadog instead.

Overall strange experience. We didn't book so when we got there we had to wait an hour, although there were clearly tables available for 5 they just hadn't been cleaned. Everything was fine when we ordered staff all nice and everything. About 2 minutes after we ordered a different waiter came back to tell me there was no Chicken Tikka left. Which was ok but a bit annoying. The problem was once they brought us are food the Chicken Tikka had came from are original oder but what i had ordered instead had also came instead of one of our other meals. Luckily they got us the correct meal in the end i just dont understand how you can make a mistake like that.

Second time this year have visited this restaurant. It was bad last time but we tried again thinking it might have improved - nope. Food is very overpriced and not good. Fish was very greasy, sandwich was supposed to come with crisp but didn't got told they would be brought over and never arrived. Last time I will ever waste money here.

We were so looking forward to a meal on holiday but this was terrible. We both had steak and ordered a side of onion rings.....Oh dear me, the steak wasn't cooked to how we had asked and it was so tough it was inedible, the onion rings were like cardboard you could not eat them, we sent them back. We were led to believe we were paying for their meal offer only they charged full price even though we had complained about the food and left most of it. We won't be going back thats for sure.

Had the mixed grill and was quite nice although over priced. Next night had the serloin steak and it was disgusting, small and not a good taste at all, wasceither off or cooked in old burnt butter.

Very disappointed with the food and service 1x kids meal was ok… but no free starter was brought, and the tiniest cup of weak cordial 1x adult scampi was ok, but can’t go wrong with scampi 1x steak… cooked incorrectly- still very pink inside. And not told about extra charge for sauce! 1x Cajun pasta… no flavour 1x adult burger- inedible as chewy and grisley. We ordered 4 adult drinks- the coke was flat and we were charged for one large lemonade when we were only served small. All in all it was so disappointing, we cancelled our second table booking for the end of the holiday. It wasn’t cheap, but the food didn’t live up to expectation at all! The service we received was awful!! All in all very disappointing!!

I am a time served chef and I’ve got to say that was one of the worst meals I’ve ever tasted. The classic burger was dripping with oil from the grill and the chips were clearly batch cooked in advance. They’re so dry it defies understanding or effective swallowing. Really poor quality food, overpriced and very slow service. You’d get a better quality meal eating out of the bin store. To the chef: put some love into it or stop cooking. You cannot be proud of this

Food is ok but very slow service for food and drinks, doesn't matter how busy or quiet the place is. We have been a few times and it seems like it's not just the odd occasion it's just slow.

We ate here one evening. Our food was very average overall. I ordered Green Thai Curry and was served a plate of neon watery green slop with rice. Tasteless. Needless to say I couldn’t eat it. Our desserts were a little better but still nothing...

Visited here 3 times with the wife on Sat 24th June 2022, Sunday lunch 25th June and Weds 28th June. We hadnt booked in advance but got a seat ok. A good varied menu and not too badly priced . The food was good on...

Staff were attentive, organised and friendly. 12 of us ate here whilst on holiday. We all enjoyed our meals. Hearty servings and hot. Kids recieved a colouring book and games. We were able to take a birthday cake and staff gave us plates and cutlery....

Although dogs are allowed outside, food is not allowed to be served outside therefore you cannot eat if you bring your dogs with you. Extremely disappointed that we were led to believe this was a dog friendly place within the Greenacres holiday park.

We read the reviews before going here and were in two minds about it, but we've been before years ago and can't remember any of the problems. Staff were fine, could have been a touch more attentive and we would have ordered more drinks. There were some meals unavailable, but signs explaining this (tesco round the corner has no issues) The 1st 3 things I picked couldnt have, so I did Have a rump steak and it was spot on, cooked exactly right and seasoned very well, all food hot and out in 15mins. Overall would go again.

Absolutely disgusting, Massively overpriced, Out of 7 people 3 orders came correct, Paid £5.50 for 4 tiny little chicken wings seen more meat on a toothpick. Despite severe delivery shortages and in the face of some unbelievably rude customers, the team were cheery and helpful, dealing with a situation beyond their control and unreasonable demands with a professional smile. Good work! Clean, tidy and family friendly.

Visited here on our last evening of a short holiday .After seeing some bad reviews we still thought we would give it a try given its convenience .Sadly the bad reviews were correct ! We had booked a table through the app which seemed to work ok apart from the staff member still putting us on the wrong table in a fairly quiet room ,this caused some confusion with the waiting staff .Drinks were ordered and delivered quickly ,food was ordered and again arrived quite quickly..a good start .sadly that was as good as it got ,I was served cod and chips only to find after one mouthful that the fish was still raw !! the waitress seemed surprised when I showed her ,she felt the fish with her fingers and confirmed it was raw .She took the meal away and fairly promptly replaced it with another cod and chips ...staggeringly on inspection this was also raw !! I eventually received a bowl of chips (45 minutes aftet placing an order) I did receive an apology along with a list of excuses plus a 15% discount, altogether an awful experience. I can forgive anyone cooking a meal wrong once but not to do it again so quickly with the same dish ! No more mash and barrel for me

Arrived for table on time, no on present to seat people in queue (1st man in queue was a elderly gentleman). I went to ask if anyone was free and was told someone would be along shortly.The blonde lady who seats customers arrived and took us to our table, the table was cramped next to another large table with approx 12 people on, we had 2 tables pushed together (6 of us) and they were different heights, there was chairs missing and the ones there were ripped. I asked if we could sit on the next able to which I just got stared at and then she said “that’s your table” I said “yes I know but could we sit on that one please” to which she picked menus up and threw them on the next table and walked away !! Meal was lovely and waitress who served us was great and new all about allergies etc.If this lady is the front of house for your restaurant I think she needs some customer services training.

We came here last week for an evening meal. The starters took an hour and a half. They thought that the mains and starters were coming together for some unknown reason so the mains must have sat under the lamps while we had our starters meaning they were stone cold. The steaks which were ordered medium came rare. The chips were stone cold. Peppercorn sauce was like water in fact it was inedible so we sent it back. My burger was missing the cheese and as advertised the ‘frickles’, still yet to find out what they even are. The manager gave us 50% off but we still paid over £60 and it was barely edible. I would avoid. Over priced awful food. Don’t ruin your holiday by going here.

Booked a place here for our wedding anniversary we are Still in The mash & Barrel and we are on 1hr and 24 mins wait for our meal my 4 year old daughter has fallen a at the table and my 1 year old is becoming harder to entertain and the staff are avoiding us.

We had an ok meal. We had a terrible one about 5 years ago and I thought it may have improved. The restaurant doesn’t seem up to the same standard as the rest of the holiday park. There is nowhere else other than take aways on site. I think a trick is being missed here that people might want something better then ‘cheap & cheerful’, although that doesn’t describe it accurately either. I would recommend revamping the menu. I really hope it changes in the future as I love Greenacres and it would be perfect to have somewhere good on site.

Haven't actually eaten here since pre pandemic days but visited this week to try and book a table. The greeter was a young short girl with extra long talons that she liked to beckon me with! She was surly and clearly could not be bothered to demonstrate an ounce of customer service. Her tone was clipped and she was borderline rude. But the beckoning - that really irritated me!I won't even bother returning to eat. Plenty of places around where you're not treated like an inconvenient child.

Staff were lovely but the service was very very slow, and the food was truly awful. Don't bother and go to the great fish and chip shop instead.

We went to the restaurant as a family of 6 last night and I have honestly not had a, worse experience ever. We booked the table for 19:30 and ordered our food by 19:45. After a hour of waiting and 2 young children crying because they were hungry we asked where our food order was. We was told that ours was being prepared and was next out. After another half hour and 3 other orders coming out we asked again. Eventually it came but not all together and the excuse was they was having appliance issues and was short staffed in the kitchen.. And they was waiting for the peas to cook.The restaurant was closing at 21:30 because they was having a, staff meeting which meant we could not enjoy our food and the children could not have their bubblegum ice cream which they was promised. I really hope the meeting was about how they could address this awful service that most tables where complaining about.This is not down to the staff out front who was on the recieving end of the complaints but purely down to the shocking management. This needs to be addressed at the highest level to put a team in place so that their staff can work without receiving continuous complaints. One girl said she'd only worked there a few weeks and this was a regular occurrence and she was genuinely embarrassed and she should never be put in this position.Haven needs to get this place in order as the complaints were coming from owners as well as rental holiday makers. Before this evening was shambolicly destroyed by the shocking management of this restaurant I was looking to return in September and October for long weekends. I will now however be looking at Quay West and Kiln Park.To cap it all they tried to charge us for a larger shandy and a bottle of cider that we never ordered.

Good food and drink. Family area. Prices up a bit but not bad. Service okay. About 30 mins wait. Fine

Appalling service from start to finish just made this a terrible experience.

1 and a half hour wait for food. Staff take social distancing too seriously as they don’t even bother coming over - if you want food or drinks you’re gonna have to get up and hunt down a waiter. Got to a point tables were joking about how long they were all waiting. Never again

The staff are infuriatingly rude, ignoring your customers is not a good business model, no ‘I’ll be one minute’, actually not even making eye contact!Food was actually ok though, we had a mixed platter and the buttermilk chicken burger, BUT before we received our mains the waitress came over with the bill? Very confused we paid it, then queried it, she told us another table had actually asked for the bill not us! We were then concerned whether we would get our main course or not! We did…..1 hr later… think they did forget us! Also forgot to bring my son his drink for 30 mins despite asking 3 different servers!

Friendly staff .very clean.good distance between tables.food and off course drink good too.

After seeing the reveiws put on here on here. I was unsure whether to go ahead with our booking. But im glad we did as we really enjoyed our experience. The restaurant was nice and clean. The meals were served within 45mins and were all hot and tasty. our waitress was Heather and was very nice and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for her. I would recommend going and trying it for yourself

Dont waste your TIME or money coming here! CalledIn for some tea, not even half the menu available including drinks menu no apologies from staff. Ordered a sirloin steak were told this was actually avaliable.... half an hour later were told none left... again no sorry. So in panic my partner ordered sausage and mash an hour and a half later it arrived. One of my children ordered chicken nuggets and they sent out a plate of random pieces of different chicken obviously to avoid telling us a FIFTH time something wasnt available. The sausage and mash was laughable the gravy was actual water. The lady behind asked if the mash was smash! The pasta I ordered had none of the vegetables said on the menu in! We werent offered a second drink by staff, i shouted the waitress over after an hour and ordered a second glass of the same wine.... obviously all gone now none avaliable. Ordered the only glass available and it was brought over warm! Actually unacceptable to be running! No menu terrible service and nobody seems to care! Really needs closing down

No vegan options on the menu other than beans on toast. so we chose the vegetarian option. After waiting a long time considering the place was empty. I really wished I took a photo of this meal, the mushrooms were whole and over cooked, a teaspoon of beans and deep fried quorn sausages. Staff were young and probably need some service training, starting to wonder who runs the kitchen!

Average fare and quite pricey but convenient for holiday park guests. 😁

Poor management, The team are working hard but are let done by the management of the establishment, they do not know how to run a service. Sat waiting for 2 hours, only had starters so far not even offered additional drinks. Poor management causing issues!

Terrible. Long waiting times for orders. Incomplete orders " o sorry didn't we tell you we didn't have half the ingredients for the full breakfast". Staff just stand around talking not taking orders. Very militant about track and trace though.

Asked on line questions about this place with no response.... come on after year pubs and restaurants have had surely this place could do with some customers.... Doesn't seem to be trying very hard... We taken our business elsewhere.. oh and empty your dog bins... stink

We booked a table for 6.30pm and when ordering told there was a maximum of an hour and half wait. We decided to go ahead as we had been to cooks the night before which was awful and didn’t fancy another chippy dinner. We ordered mixed grills and a kids spaghetti bolognese. An hour and half later food arrived not even lukewarm. We had to ask the waitress if she would mind asking them to put it in the microwave for a bit to warm it up which they did. As for the mixed grill, we could barely cut the chicken it was that over cooked. My little girl ate the garlic bread and left the bolognese (which is unlike her) saying it wasn’t nice, so that was a waste too. The only positive was that the waitress that served us was friendly and apologetic. She said we weren’t the first to complain that evening. Would not recommend. We are owners and only went to use up some credit we had on our cards. We usually prepare dinner in the caravan, Definitely won’t be going again and would recommend holiday makers give this place a miss too. If wanting to eat out try some of the lovely places down in Porthmadog instead (e.g. Y Sygwar which we always try and book for the early bird menu).

Such a shame! Ordered sirloin for myself and steak pie for the hubby.My steak and his pie were cooked perfectly and served hot but the chips were barely warm and the carrots were like minature wooden bullets....dreadful.!! and the peas were cold too. Generally not a good experience.

We visited the outdoor eating area yesterday with our 8 week old baby and 1 year old. We had no cover and therefore when it started to rain we were told by a lovely waiter that we could move to a table with a parasol. When the waiter explained to the more senior member of staff (Male) that he was moving us due to the rain, the managers response was that he wasn’t allowed, and even when our waiter explained we had 2 small children, the managers response was that it didn’t matter. Another table close by were told they could also move to the shelter, only later for another senior member of staff (Female) to confront them rudely telling them they weren’t allowed to move, which wasn’t their fault at all. Overall the young male waiter serving us was extremely polite and understanding. However this experience all being a shame as we visit here often.
