Nice decor, average service (waiting staff kept pushing me to order more food when I didnt want to. Food itself is below average. No balance of spices, no fresh ingredients, bit overpriced for the quality

Our first visit to Mowgli was a sensation - we loved the food and Vibe Beth was a great ambassador helping us through the menu. Sticky chicken was our favourite. We will be back with friends next time.

It is always disappointing to be let down by your heroes. I had only been to Mowgli once before but I was really impressed. This trip was less enjoyable. There were only two of us. Our preferred beer was unavailable, our first choice of main course was unavailable. Hats off to our waitress Esme who was a delight despite all of this. The starter was ok. My railway lamb curry was good. My companion's butter chicken was severely lacking in chicken. The management did not charge for the butter chicken even though it had been eaten. All in all a mixed bag. I will not be rushing back.

Fabulous service, amazing food.

This was our first visit to Mowgli’s and from start to finish we had a great experience. From our welcome from Michael who guided us through the menu and offered recommendations, to our attentive waiter Jay who took time to make sure we were enjoying our meal and had a good chat with us after. The service was excellent and the food top notch and we can’t wait to return.

Came for the first time was a little sceptical but honestly the food was amazing loved it so much. A little pricey though.

Very good atmosphere and some unique foods but food quantity served is less and the bill is on the higher end aswell compared to regular Indian restaurants in the area.

Spot on. We waiting until 9:15pm for our table but it was so worth the wait. Brilliant service and spoken through the menu and how many dishes to order. Great cocktail menu and presented very well. Team were fantastic, knowledgable and so accommodating. The food was authentic, tasty and done to perfection. Great concept and cannot wait to come back again soon. I have eaton here several times with my gf and its been very nice no issues, so we decided to bring some friends with us. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon ordered. We did order quite abit of food to share so We expected abit of a wait. Food was very nice but when we finished they Instantly brought us the bill didn't ask if we wanted more drinks or even a dessert. 2 minutes later a waiter came over and asked us to pay as they needed the table back. We payed then another waiter came and just took our drinks and said we need the table back. their was only abit left in them but that's not the point. They literally pushed us out the door like it was nothing. Absolutely disgraceful I've never been forced out of a restaurant like that. Made us feel humiliated in front of our friends and other customers . We then thought we'd get a drink opposite at the alchemist and 45 minutes later that table was still empty. Absolutely disgusting service and I won't be returning anytime soon after this experience.

We have visited a couple of times before. Food is very tasty, love the chicken curry and the monkey wrap. Good variety on the menu. We came for a birthday celebration but wished we hadn't booked for a Saturday night. We felt very rushed like they wanted us to eat and leave as soon as possible. We asked for the pudding menu but were bought the bill instead which put a downer on the night.

Atmosphere of this place is superb with seating on swings being a good experience. Food as a whole was tasty. Would highly recommend.

For the first time visiting Mowgli’s it was a fab experience. We were served by the wonderful Tamzin. She was really attentive and brightened up our day. Was super helpful and made great recommendations. The food was excellent! Will definitely visit again.

Such a lovely atmosphere, the decor is magical and the food is fantastic. Would highly recommend the chat bombs and the brownie! The paneer curry is a great vegetarian option, too! A huge thank you to Tamzin for taking such great care of us, an absolute super star!

The best food I have ever tasted ,the best rice ever the monkey wrap is amazing we had several dishes on the table and now nowhere else compares !

Lovely restaurant with it's sparkly lights. I ordered yoghurt chat bombs for starters. The waitress advised to put the whole bomb in your mouth but they were too big. The trick is to bite it but tilt it away from you. Had house curry which was mild and creamy. Monkey wrap tasted good and not at all spicy . Jury's out on the swing seats on the outer seating area. Service was very good.

Came for a mid week meal and was met with a group of lovely people. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Lewis was our main waiter and was just brilliant. We really look forward to coming here again for the great food and even better service - thank you all!

Lovely romantice place very relaxing atmosphere. Staff very friendly and helpful. House chicken curry and butter chicken curry we had with 2 small flat bread which was very nice but the portions a little on the small side for an indian and they dont do chips which would have been better as left place still hungry after spending £42!

If you expect people to eat within an hour and half then you need to up the speed of service. Just before ordering the dessert we were told they needed the table so had to leave. Having waited over 20 mins for the bulk of our order then having to leave because of your slow service definitely ruined my birthday celebrations.

Had a such a great welcoming from Lewis, we were a group of 3 walk in he was able to work his magic and get us sat within minutes. Such an incredible bubbly host , and our waitress Tamzin was very very helpful with the menu with our many questions. Great atmosphere with beautiful portions do food, full of wonderful flavours , not too spicy if you can’t handle heat. Such a great friend date, in an incredible atmosphere

We arrived at peak dinner time without booking and we were greeted by a bubbly, friendly and helpful Lewis who reassured us that he could find us a seat by re-arranging several tables! We felt immediately welcomed and sat down eagerly excited for a sensational evening of tasty food in a beautifully decorated venue with a lovely atmosphere! The staff were super attentive and didnt mind answering our questions as we had a lot due to the vast menu with great gluten free and vegan options! We eventually ordered an array of dishes and some delightful mocktails which were all scrumptious! Favourites included: The Sherbet (Mocktail), Sticky Chicken, Bunny Chow (spicy) and the Yoghurt Balls not to mention the brownie 😍. Thank you team Mowgli for a lovely evening!

First experience of Mowgli and we were super impressed. Our server was so helpful on explaining how to get the best out of the experience. Had the Treacle Tamarind fries with Mother Butter Chicken and the greens. The food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend and we will be back. Thank you, Mowgli.

From reservation to leaving everything was great!! Special shout out to Liam who was very welcoming when we arrived and Jack who served us. Jack was amazing and knew his stuff!! He recommended some lovely dishes that I never would have thought of ordering. All staff were lovely but a special thank you to Jack and Liam, we will be returning very soon and hope to see you both again soon 🥰

Visited a few days ago and had a fantastic experience. The food was amazing as were the staff, particular shout out to Evo who was fantastic . Will definitely be back.

Very disappointed. Food was average, but expensive and certainly not value for money. Service was good. Lighting was very pretty, but had to use a mobile phone torch to read the menu. There were a number of other tables having to do the same. Mowgli promised a lot, but delivered very little. Also, I didn't appreciate staff appraisals being carried out on the front of house table next to where we were sitting. Sorry, will not be returning.

Had a great meal here with friends last week - lovely food and, although our water was forgotten a few times, the staff were really friendly. I was also impressed that the manager noticed of her own accord when we had a small issue, so they're obviously taking pride in what they're doing there.

Great restaurant quality food at reasonable prices

It is a unique experience. The food is absolutely tasty, in good portions. You may think that the portions are small. Well, the food can be quite heavy so don't judge rushly. I haven't noticed any desert though. The atmosphere it's unique for Cheltenham, maybe the whole Gloucestershire! It's a perfect place for a romantic dinner. The service it's great! The staff is friendly and helpful. I like when I see that most of the staff is young and dedicated. There is a long future for the place. It's an experience I want to repeat soon!

Ate their twice during our stay in the town. Superb ambience. great service. Decent price. But the food taste itself was a bit of let down - we've had better in London. But if you are there and craving Indian food - I guess this is not a bad place to try.

Dinner with my colleagues, a group of 12 people. Relentless service. The recommendation: 2 to 3 dishes per person. This is too much for normal eaters. Especially if you are going to share with friends…rice for two…

Very nice atmosphere foods also tasty, but the portion is very small enough to share and even for the one person also very expensive.

We had a great time. In particular we have STAR service from a lady called Tamzin. She was bright, cheerful and could not lifted our moods more. Great service and great hosting.

For the price of a dish that contains 2 tiny bits of chicken, it's definitely not worth the price, £70 for 2 tiny dishes fit for a mouse and some greasy bread, and 2 soft drinks having been to many places in India, the food definitely does not taste authentic, overall 1/10

Visited on a Wednesday evening without a booking and the restaurant was fully booked, however the manager was so welcoming and accommodated us with outdoor seating which was beautiful! They were super busy so service was a little slow but never felt too long, it was actually nice and relaxing and we didn’t feel rushed. Our waitress Beth C was so fabulous, making us feel valued as customers, her service was attentive and she was very interactive with us and definitely deserves a big recognition for her customer service skills. Food was faultless as always, bursting with authenticity and amazing flavours!

Writing this on behalf of my Indian partner. Food is so poor that it is a criminal offence. Had lamb and fish curry and genuinely wondered whether we order pudding by mistake. It was too sweet and too much sugar. Since when Indian curries was cooked with sugar. Get a grip guys, this is pethetic Indian food.

Adding a charity donation on to the bill without asking but then telling us we could take it off if we wanted as well as the 12.5% automatically added tip left a sour taste in my mouth. Left me wondering what's going to be next. Please stop doing that. By all means ask or have it as an option for all individuals when making payment.

A brilliant experience, wonderful food and great service.

Booked a table for two at Mowgli for a birthday dinner. On the reservation form it asks if the booking is for a special occassion. I said it was for a special birthday, but there was absolutely no acknowledgement of this by the staff. Why bother asking if you aren't going to acknowledge it in any way? Despite it being a special day, we were asked to move to another table after we had already been seated to accommodate another party who walked in after us. I wasn't very impressed given that we had booked, I don't really think that's appropriate, and it was a bit embarrassing to gather up all our stuff and move. I say we were asked, it was pretty clear it wasn't optional. The food was mostly nice, a couple of dishes a bit too bland or sweet but most of it was really fragrant and tasty. The service was fine, sort of perfunctory and rushed, not very friendly, but fine. The decor inside was lovely. Overall it was... fine. I was disappointed with it for a special occassion though. They don't seem to care much, more like a cattle market, get in, eat and get out vibe. For £70+ for the two of us (one beer each) I would expect more

First time visiting Mowgli and it did not disappoint. The whole experience is great, decor is wonderful inside, service is friendly and warm and the vibe inside is brilliant. The food is delicious, small morsels of bursting bubbles of yumminess so you can order as much or as little as you fancy. We ordered quite a lot being both hungry but also wanting to try everything which resulted in a raised eyebrow from the waitress but we all laughed about it ha ha. The lamb chops were exceptional, as were the chat bombs but it was all incredible, really. When ordering it helps to read the menu properly as the chops came with turmeric chips and the angry bird came with slaw - we ordered sides of both and so could have saved some food and money there! Couple of small points to bear in mind... the slaw comes with raisins - not detailed anywhere on the menu and my wife hates fruit in savoury so that was a big miss unfortunately and after a while the quaint yet slightly impractical "swing" chairs are a bit uncomfortable. You can't just "sit back" and relax, or you'll end up on your a** :D Shame really, as after eating the whole menu, that's kinda what we would have liked to have done. That aside, great experience, and we would definitely go again - but read the menu properly !

Was a bit expensive for my liking

Would give 10 stars if I could! Food was amazing, something really different, great for sharing. Restaurant is also very dog friendly, staff were very accommodating to ours , bringing him water and giving him a fuss. Swing seats are also great fun!

The food and atmosphere is great here. The service was especially exceptional, Tamzin was both friendly, professional and went above and beyond to make sure me and my family had an enjoyable dining experience.

This place ticks all the boxes. It’s perfect for a girls night, date night or yummy lunch. The food is spectacular and the aesthetics are dreamy.

Not a run of the mill curry house, almost like Indian tapas where you order a variety of smaller dishes rather than one big meal. Not all the dishes I had were to my liking, but a few were really nice, so it might take a few visits to work out what you liked. The atmosphere and service were great though, so well with a visit.

The food is addictive nice variety of options from lamb and chicken to rhubarb dhal and chickpea curry, the lamb chops are tasty

Though this is a chain restaurant, it doesn't feel like it. The staff (especially Lottie and Beth) always make you feel welcome and looked after. Food is lovely and comes quickly. Reasonable prices, nice atmosphere, will be back soon :)

Some friends and I visited Mowgli last weekend for a birthday meal and we were not disappointed! The atmosphere was vibrant, and the food delicious (we particularly liked the Monkey Wrap and Sticky Chicken). Our waiter was super helpful and friendly despite it being a very busy night. I will be visiting again!

WOW! The best food I’ve eaten in a long time - still thinking about it days after! Lots of vegan and gluten free options and staff knowledgeable about cross contamination etc for coeliacs. We had 4 dishes and 2 sides between 2 of us which was the perfect amount. First time visiting and we’ll be back - just waiting for the Bristol one to open now 🤞🏼

Really enjoyed the food and the ambience inside. We have tried monkey wrap,crispy chicken and mango lassi which was really good. It tastes the same as Indian food with mix spices flavours in it. Service was also good.

It was a very nice place. We were able to get seated on one of the swinging chairs and it was a very nice atmosphere. The service was quick and the staff were nice. I enjoyed the food and they had low carbon footprint foods as well. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant and so far it is one of my favourite dining experiences.

My wife and I had our first date in this restaurant, so we decided it was the most fitting place to have our low-key post wedding meal with our small group of family and friends. Everything was perfect and the staff and Caitlyn the manager were exceptional in their hospitality, and making sure that we were all well looked after and even provided some amazing starters and Prosecco for the group. We were extremely lucky that the place was empty during our meal time (being late afternoon/early evening) and the mood lighting really added to the atmosphere and everyone had such a good time, and the food as always was amazing and full of flavour which was another reason we were so happy to go back for such a special occasion. Would highly recommend anyone to visit as the staff truly makes it equally as special as the food, and the staff here are fantastic!
