We had a very enjoyable lunch with friends. There is a fairly extensive lunch time menu at reasonable prices. Food and service were good. It was a pity there were few other diners, possibly due to covid19 restrictions. Well worth a visit.

Went here with some friends for dinner. I found the restaurant very open and quite plain. The downstairs seemed quite small. We were shown to our table upsatirs which was bright and had a lot more space. As its quite open, it can be noisy when there are a lot of guests. The staff were friendly and the food menu was simple fair. When the food arrived though it was really good. Pleanty of it and severed with a smile. Always important. Inexpensive and pleasent. I would go again. It does seem to close quite early, then again it is a restaurant not a bar !!

3 of us went to this restaurant having reserved a table in advance for 18:30 on a Friday evening. We arrived slightly behind time, but thankfully this wasn't a problem, and we were warmly greeted and shown to a table on the upper floor.Every item on the table was super clean, the restaurant was pleasantly furnished and the music was low but clearly audible. We were promptly offered menus to peruse, and our drink order was brought quickly and with a smile. The offer of iced water was a welcome touch, and so - the scene was set for an enjoyable evening. We weren't alone as several tables were already occupied, and many more were taken during our stay. The average age range seated was say ….40+, however a large party arrived before we left and we all agreed that widened the range from 20 – 80 years old. Surprisingly there were no children during our visit, but I’m sure that every child irrespective of age would be well catered for.Whilst the restaurant is not licensed, this isn't a problem for anyone who cares to enjoy a glass of wine or two; to BYO is quite acceptable, furthermore what a pleasant surprise to find there is no corkage charge (I imagine we may make take advantage of this during our next visit, and there will definitely be a next visit)! We all agreed to give the starters a miss due to our impatient hunger-pangs – Friday had been a long day for all of us, so we each selected our main courses - 1 grilled beef fillet served with pepper sauce (a special request); 1 baked salmon fillet, coated with a beautiful crunchy pepper crust, set on a lemon & wine sauce (to die for); and the final main order was the delicious sauted medallions of pork, topped with apple and stilton cheese (absolutely gorgeous I’m reliably informed). Our plates were totally clean when we were done… I should add that my husband believes this is the nicest and most tender fillet he has enjoyed in many years (and he should know, cos he likes his meat)! It was great to find a restaurant where a variety of home cooked vegetables arrived as part of the mains order (no charge for the extras here); the selection was great and the chips / mash were also enjoyed – they definitely weren’t soggy nor were they hard, there was just the perfect amount of crunch with each perfectly cooked. We were definitely geared-up to go for a desert (having omitted the initial course and enjoyed the main so much). We eagerly listened to the options offered by the lovely waitress and whilst they all sounded yummy, a decision was difficult to make. A healthy slice of pavalova, a huge jelly trifle in a long glass topped with whipping cream made two, but having tasted each-others’ we unanimously agreed that the winner (for us) had to be the minty cheesecake – another success!Ending with Tea / coffee and “short” shortbread (no not short in portion), we were all totally satisfied and happy. Thanks to all who helped make our evening so good, we really enjoyed everything about the “Mulberry Tree” – I should add that the bill was a lot less than we pay in other restaurants, and I’d willingly challenge anyone to disagree with the value for money aspect!Incidentally, I’ve heard great reports about the outside catering, so if that’s something you need, then don’t pass George Hannah – he is a lovely man, a great chef with years of experience and certainly a person who won’t let you down!!

I have been many times to the Mulberry Tree. The food is great and the service is excellent. Very tranquil and well worth a visit. Good wholesome food served piping hot. There is a good range of traditional food on the menu and all reasonably priced. This is my favorite restaurant.

This is near one of the sites where I work and I enjoy going along for a bit of peace at lunchtime or on a break. A good selection of cakes and coffee, as well as a surprisingly broad range of hot foods and snacks on the menu.

Went for lunch again and enjoyed our food. Service was very good, pleasant young man serving. Our menus had been brought to us by George - I think he might be the owner/manager. Very welcoming - he has a good reputation for being helpful and friendly.

Disappointed with the food as it was very average. Both of us got prawns for starter and got 3 bits of wheaten between 2 which is odd, the salad looked a bit miserable. Staff are pleasant though and it's BYOB. Not much atmosphere, seemed to be an older clientele.

Mulberrry Tree is a favourite for us. The food is very good and there is a good range to cater for all tastes. Nothing is too much for George and the staff. They are friendly and very attentive. You can even bring your own bottle here. The food is reasonably priced and the desserts are home made and wonderful. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

This place is a little gem an incredibly good value for money, partly because it doesn't have a licence and you bring your own alcohol. Very good quality food, superbly cooked by George Hanna, an excellent example of local chef who knows his local market and what it likes. Nothing fancy but good quality food, beautifully cooked. Great place for a group of friends/small party. Strongly recommended. If you are looking for great value.

Have been to this restaurant many times and never had a bad meal. Everything is freshly prepared and presented well. You can bring your own bottle and there is no corkage charge. The food is reasonably priced and staff friendly and attentive. This chef/owner deserves to do well. You leave feeling you've had a lovely meal and you haven't been ripped off for the privilege. Keep up the good work.

I organised a birthday celebration in the Mulberry tree for a Saturday evening. We had 23 there in total and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and helpful staff not to mention the high standard of food. There was no problem organising and the owner was helpful and accommodating. The range of choices on the set menu was great so everyone was able to find something they liked and there was a good selection of desserts available on the night. The steak was particularly popular and one person said it was the best they'd had anywhere! The whole meal was delicious and they kindly cut the cake we'd brought to serve with tea and coffee. A great place for an event or just to pop in for lunch or dinner! Highly recommended!
