Big portions, good food, very friendly owners.

Located in a residential location, this fish and chips shop is its locale's favourite, as far as I have come to understand. The people who run this place are friendly folks and will ensure you get the food prepared with great care, oft times giving a little extra something. There's a good range of choices for fishes and other stuff. The portion sizes are gracious, and they will prepare it if you give them a call ahead of your arrival. Have had extremely satisfying experience everytime, Wish you guys well; lots of love :)

Lovely greeting. As I was new customer I was given a free potato cake! Nice touch. Fish was beautifully cooked. A special of Salt and Pepper chips was delicious. Great chinese twist on a classic British chip. I've been back again and was equally impressed.

Super welcoming and genuinely friendly people running this place. I noticed they have many regular customers and I can tell why they are all loyal. A small cod is quite big in size and it is freshly made. The skin left on the cod is a nice addition as it adds to the crispiness of the batter, and the flesh is soft and has good flavour. The chips and hash brown weren't to my taste, as the taste of the oil and the doughy texture was overbearing, but I am glad I visited this place to meet the caring shop owners here.

My first time here after just moving to the area, but definitely not my last. Absolutely excellent plaice and chips with mushy peas. Beautiful cooked and the batter was perfect. The staff there were also very welcoming and gave me a free potato fritter while I was waiting, which was excellent too. Looking forward to my next visit.

Called in for my first visit yesterday. Had Large Plaice and Chips with Mushy Peas - All good. Shame no home delivery! Very friendly owners business has been establish there 8 years.

We've found this lovely shop as we walked our dog in nearby park. We had a warm friendly welcome from owner couple and the food was freshly cooked and very nice. A good chippy, how important in our life!

Great fish and chips, good portion sizes for a good price. Mostly cooked fresh on demand so may have to wait a little, but worth it - mushy peas are the best. Note: they only take cash, but there is a cash point in the same row of shops not 50 feet away so easy to get some (no transaction charge)

My lovely local chippy of over 10 years, run by a lovely friendly couple. Proper good food, fresh and as tasty as you'll find! I tend to order the same each time, but sometimes opt for something a little different, and I'm never disappointed! It's all 5 star stuff here! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dylan

Very fresh and always very friendly.

I have to visit every week. They will always cook to order so you know it's not reheated rubbish. Obviously it means there is a little wait, but the quality is definitely worth it. Will carry on using them, and highly recommend. They are cash only but the post office has an ATM a little bit further down the parade so not a big problem. Easy parking outside too.

Not at all greasy and very good indeed. Reasonably priced and able to eat in on a plate with proper cutlery. Extremely friendly owners and very impressed. The cod was superbly cooked and great crispy batter. The chips could have done with another 30 secs in the pan but there were only a few that were slightly hard but did not detract from the meal. Will visit again without doubt and cooked in vegetable oil which is a large plus. Watch out Grosvenor as these are more than just competing with you.

I have just had to wait over 20minutes for a portion of chips and see everyone who came in after me get served first. They clearly don't care unless you are ordering fish etc. Chips good though.

Ate in the chippie last night with my wife. Cod 'n chips and plaice 'n chips. Just over £12. The cod wasn't the normal shape you'd expect (i.e.longish fillet shape) but a thickish lump. That doesn't sound complimentary but it was perfectly fine. Tasty, hot and well cooked - as was the plaice. As others have said, the lady asked where we were from as she hadn't seen us before. Friendly, good service, good food.

One of the best chip shops I've ever been too! The food is absolutely delicious, the owners are really lovely, helpful and friendly. And the prices are really good too. They have space for you to sit down and eat which is a perk to it as well. It's a very clean and tidy and well looked after place. This will be the only chip shop I go to!

The fish and chips here are delicious!! The batter is so light and the fish tastes amazing. I tried this chippy as a one off and now i come here every Friday! The staff here are all so friendly and polite and the place has a lovely atmosphere. The gravy is the best I have ever tasted!! Highly reccomend giving this chippy a visit!

I was made very welcome, the food is very well cooked and everything is spotlessly clean. Even though I haven't been for a little while New Sole Plaice continues to be a most welcoming cafe and the quality of the fish especially the plaice was perhaps better than ever.

Glad to find a chippy with good curry sauce.
