Redwood Smokehouse in Shropshire

The food is amazing. Good size portions cooked to perfection. Couple who run it are really nice as well. Good food good value

A second visit with our friends who had also come with us last time to sample something different off the menu. Yet again the meal and service were second to none! Really tasty and fresh. I’ve tried a few different places that smoke food and have to say this is the best. The flavour goes all the way through the meat and the sauces are fantastic too. The food is smoked on site in special ovens using Oak to give it that lovely sweet but savoury flavour. Looking forward to going back again soon.

The best BBQ in the West (Midlands) brilliant food, cooked to perfection, lovely staff, this place has it all. I'm so pleased that this Smokehouse is near to us because it means we don't have to travel too far for meals, if we lived further away we WOULD travel to Redwood for meals.

We’ve been to the Redwood Smokehouse several times and every meal has been fantastic. The service is very personable, food is amazing with great portion sizes. There’s also a large range on the menu. We had some particularly challenging members of the party with food intolerances, which we spoke to them about ahead of time and they catered to these really well. So lovely to have something like this in the local area. Always like to support a small business like this and they don’t disappoint. Highly recommend!

Delicious meat, great menu and charming service - clean and welcoming restaurant with mouth watering meats and burger options. The fries were light and crispy and the brisket beef was unbelievable - they even found a quiet corner for our pooches which was so appreciated as we were camping and they couldn’t be left

Have driven past the place a number of times and wanted to try whilst supporting a local restaurant. Ordered a range of items from the menu. Collected food and it was ready when I arrived. Couple are nice and friendly. Food smelt good. The chicken wings were good, flavoured and cooked well. The sauce provided was divine - could have drank this! The burnt ends were okay. The brisket was moist but had lack of bark and seasoning, and the pulled pork was tasty. The sausage had good meat quality but was overcooked which meant it was incredibly dry and didn't really have much flavour. The chicken mac & cheese was bland - no seasoning in the mac nor on the chicken. It was very dry and solid. This could have been because it was take out. The half chicken was moist and was beautifully flavoured. The ribs fell off the bone and the BBQ sauce coating them was sweet and sticky. The fries appeared to be bog-standard frozen fries but again not seasoned. Overall hit and miss on items. Personally, compared to the likes of Hickory Smokehouse (granted a chain of outlets but comparable for price and items offered) I would prefer Hickory.

Lovely owners and a lovely setting however we found the food to be average, we ordered a sharing platter for £49 and although it was nice we didn’t think it was worth nearly 50 pounds for 2 people, I would say the platter would be worth more like £35-£40. We want to support local restaurants so we would go back but maybe not order the sharing platter as we felt it wasn’t worth £50.

Have just visited this little hidden gem of a place for the second time, Mat and Jess are wonderful hosts and are ready to help with any questions or queries about the menu. Food is excellent and so tasty, will definitely be back again soon.
