Smallsticks Cafe in North Norfolk

Love this place! Great food, so good we went twice in our 5 day break! Staff very helpful and amenable . Spotless toilets, lovely beach huts outside to sit in if any are free and outside seating area. Dog friendly to a point…not allowed in cafe building but can sit outside or in the beach huts. Would definitely return!

Fab little cafe. We only had coffee to go, but the cakes looked amazing.

4 adults and 3 dogs. In for breakfast. Nice dog friendly area. Breakfast was great, and the cheese scones we brought home were delicious. Very friendly staff.

Lovely! Sat in the garden area with our dog (very dog friendly), had crab sandwich, drinks and cake, great service and fresh food.

Just loved this cute cosy cafe. We went after lunch time so couldn't order food but we did order scones, carrot cake, coffee and chai latte. Everything was delicious. The staff is friendly. They also have outdoor seating which is good.

Enormous, delicious cakes. Great selection of drinks. Excellent service. What more do you want? Oh I know outdoor seating inside a shed; well look no further. We sat inside one the garden shed/mini team rooms with the dogs and it was lovely.

Nothing to fault. Nice food, reasonable prices, sandwiches, baked potatoes, cakes and scones A1. Nice cup of tea too, and pretty tea cosies Vegan and gluten free available.

this was our first visit, it was a cool wet day and we were disappointed to hear we could not take our dog inside but could eat outside or in beach huts. We decided to have a look and was pleased to see the huts were nicely furnished and sheltered. We had beautiful sandwiches, great coffee and flapjack so good we bought extra to take home. Definitely recommend worth a visit

A proper hidden gem, absolutely fantastic. Food was delicious 😋 cakes were absolutely amazing and portion sizes were outstanding. Lovely friendly service and lovely and clean. Pet friendly deffo worth a stop off and a trip to. Amazing place so pleased come across it.

This is a little gem tucked away a few minutes from the beach. Lovely cafe, very friendly staff and excellent selection of breakfasts, lunches and cakes. They're dog friendly outside and have a couple of lovely little beach huts in the garden for dog owners. The coffee and walnut cake is incredible and the sausage was a hit with my dog. Coffee is good too.

Stumbled across this place, when looking for somewhere to get to food, after a walk on Happisburgh Beach (good old google) and what a find! Delicious food, lovely friendly staff and very pretty location! Good price for the excellent quality of food, I can't imagine anyone leaves hungry! Will definitely be coming again!!

Every single time I visit this gorgeous little cafe I come away smiling! The staff are SO friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, the food is excellent and the coffee is great (and I am a coffe snob!!) I love the dog friendly 'beach huts' that they have outside! A really brilliant way of eating with your dogs and so useful if they are a bit anxious or reactive to other dogs. And just to show how above and beyond the staff go, I sometimes come to the cafe on horse back after a ride on the beach and get a take away coffee. It's tricky to get back on a horse with a coffee in your hand so every time they come out and hand it to me when I am on the horse. Now that is above and beyond service! And always with a smile!

We visited Smallsticks cafe whilst on Holiday with our dog's. The place is lovely with a fairly large car park. We had a breakfast bap which was cooked to order and served very quickly and was delicious. This cafe opens Friday through Monday so have missed it many times before but well worth a visit.

Fantastic little find. We both had Fish & Chips and it was superb. Its tasted fantasic, crunchy batter, lovely chips, mushy peas and home made tartar sauce. No grease at all on the plate, plentiful amount and tasted wonderful. Service was fantastic too. Thank you x

We visited Smallsticks Cafe for breakfast with our anxious dog. We were able to sit in one of the lovely beach huts in the garden which on a breezy February morning was very much appreciated. The staff were all lovely and very supportive of our dog. The breakfast hit the spot. Thank you.

A great favourite when in the area. Friendly staff, good food and cakes. Well worth a visit. Nice courtyard in summer.

Lovely place for delicious cake and coffee after a long bracing walk on the beach

After a great windy cold walk on the beach we popped in for coffee and a scone. There is seating inside or out and some wood 'cabins' if you want privacy. Staff friendly, food and drink good. Menu looks delicious and reasonable including breakfast. Nice and clean counter area and tables cleaned as soon as people leave. Toilets provided just outside in courtyard if needed. Plenty parking space. Will visit again. Check winter opening times as closed some days.

Visited Smallsticks Cafe again today and once again it was outstanding. The service and staff were first class and the food was excellent, as it always is. This great cafe never fails to deliver and I can't recommend highly enough. Just beware if you are thinking of visiting to check on the opening hours and days it is open this time of year.

Okay this is a great find... new years day 2024, soooo cold and here was a little gem, open and serving delicious food... the most welcome coffees, scones and chocolate cake ever 😀😀✔️

This is our favourite coastal cafe. We visit many times throughout the seasons and always enjoy it! Their breakfasts and cake are equally delicious and the service is always spot on. Highly recommend a visit.

Love this cafe. Had a super breakfast sat in one of the sheds with our dogs. Very friendly welcoming staff. Cakes looked amazing, but that will have to be another visit.

Very nice place, friendly staff, hearty food, okay prices. Dogs are welcome outside. Can't quite give them a perfect score, first time we visited they were overcrowded and the second there was a seating mix up but they're a solid 9 out of 10

Lovely food and coffee. Nice lunch had by 4 adults. Had 6 dogs with us and no space in a shed to shelter from the weather but the Lovely ladies put a couple of tables under a canopy for us as it rained. Kept the worst of the rain off. Good home-cooked food. Well recommended

Great little spot to stop and warm up with a delicious tea cozied cuppa

Visited at lunchtime and had to wait outside for 20 mins before being allowed in to order. Another 10 minutes to get food. Cod and chips meal for 2. The fish on both was good but the batter on one was disappointing being soft and flat compared to spiky and crispy on the other - disappointing.

Great cafe and its just a short walk from the beach which is vast and reaches all the way to Happisburgh or the other way to Sea Palling. Coffe really good and food is really tasty served up by friendly helpful staff.

Lovely! 😊 Staff were very welcoming even though they were very busy. Thank you so much for that. We were seated and served very quickly. Breakfast was plentiful and very good quality. I was pleased to note that dogs are not permitted at tables inside the restaurant. However, they are welcome outside in the garden seating area. We highly recommend this restaurant, while the above applies and will certainly visit again.

Having recently moved to Norfolk we decided to pop in for a coffee before our walk on the beach. Hubby chose a piece of coffee and walnut cake to go with his latte. He thoroughly enjoyed both coffee and cake as did I my coffee. The food being taken to other tables looked amazing so our next visit will definitely be for lunch. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Gorgeous setting. Highly recommend a visit here.

If you walk from Happisburgh to Cart Gap along the beach then head inland for about 5mins you will come to Smallsticks Cafe. Wonderful service, the most amazing scones and good outdoor area if you have a dog, including outside cabins for inclement weather. Check opening times out of season but go if you can, its fab.

We visited as a family with 4 dogs On what was a very wet and changeable day . The staff went out of their way to make us feel accommodated and as soon as beach hut came available let us know and even helped us move our drinks out of the rain despite getting drenched themselves in the process.

Great place to eat, great service, and lovely people

Shame their coffee is now weaker unless you pay more for an extra shot, and they haven't accepted reservations in a long time. Just not quite the place it used to be.

Excellent food choice, reasonably priced and really lovely, friendly service. A real gem. Dog friendly. Good facilities and outdoor eating.

Smallsticks is one of our favourite places in the whole country. Have been so many times and it is consistently brilliant. The food is good, the staff are lovely, the cafe and garden are well kept, clean and pretty. Always a good experience.

Great fantastic food and nice doggy friendly huts if wet day

Called for breakfast on a Sunday after walking along the beach from Happisburgh. They open at 10 and there was a big queue! Breakfast was superb and service good and great value for money. Can see why there is a queue!

We walked from boundary stables to have a cooked breakfast, it was lovely and fresh, arived at 10-30am by 11am it was really busy so get there early if you can. Beautiful food and friendly staff. Prices were reasonable as well. Will definitely be coming again before we go home.

We are reguler visitors to this cafe and it deserves a great review but we are disappointed that it seems to be closed more than its open. It always seems to be busy when it is open which it deserves but please open up more at the beginning of the week. We also like their takeaway meals for the beach. Thank you.

We had coffee and cake here three days in a row whilst staying nearby. The coffee was really smooth and not too strong unlike some places. Gorgeous mugs too! Slices of cake/flapjack huge. Lots of outside or inside seating. Dog friendly. Friendly staff.

This is a great little cafe, our sandwiches were tasty. I did ask for my salad to be put inside my sandwich and I was told ‘it comes on the side’ - which was funny 😂 Two sandwiches with a can of fizzy pop each was £22.55 which is OK. The outdoor seating was lovely.

Was out walking and stumbled across this place after we'd been caught in torrential rain. It was an absolute oasis, lovely food, nice people and a fair price, I can recommend.
