Very friendly staff and bar staff excellent. Clean and tidy hotel had a great time, entertainment was excellent also with a live band.

Brilliant bar, good crowd at the weekend, food is loveley. Live music and plenty of room to dance. Age is from 18 till over 60 so everyone welcome

Let's just say this place not worth the visit. It has way to many faults including rude staff and so called fire doors with a gap around frame

Called in for some lunch, very reasonably priced and very nice food, would recommend.

Only downside of our stay was the club was closed early, but we had a brilliant day/night.

Usually lively at weekends/evenings. Drink prices are moderate for the area, and the food has taken a real turn for the better over the past couple of years.

Had an overnight stay here just after Christmas. We booked a table in the restaurant. Our meal was great but the service was shocking. It started well with drinks and main course. Our plates were cleared, and after sitting for over 20 minutes, I had to go to the bar and ask for a desert menu. After another 15 minutes or so, I again had to go to the bar and ask to place an order. The restaurant wasn't packed out by any stretch of the imagination.

A fab pub, clean and comfortable! Worth popping in, if you're in the area.

Staff were amazing with the best food (much better and cheaper than harbour bistro). I have to say the beef and Guinness pie was a must have with crispy garlic fries. The dessert was lovely too with yummy brownie and vanilla ice cream. The whole place was wheelchair accessible in both entrances.

Nice cosy bar with a fireplace to keep warm. Good service and a good lunt of Guiness.

Thanks to u all that mention myself, Michelle as a receptionist. I’m overwhelmed how much thanks and gratitude you all gave me. But I know longer work there. I will treasure all your fond memories and the craic we all had. And hopefully, dare I say we will hopefully meet again soon. Thank you all for the memories and the bonds we shared for the short we got to engage with each other. Take care all of u, and hopefully we shall all meet again somewhere soon 😜

We had the seabass, but we were not happy with it...

Nourriture excellente, accueil chaleureux, le bar est bien fourni et les serveurs à l'écoute. Le tout pour un prix raisonnable. Ne pas hésiter à s'arrêter!

Food is Fantastic!!!! Passing through Portstewart or vacationing there one place not to miss is The Anchor Bar !!! Food is outstanding!!! Freshly prepared and is delicious!!! Try the Guinness beef pie !!! It's delicious!!!!

Booked for dinner in the Inn at 6pm on Saturday with the hope of going next door to bar after for drinks. It was very busy. The staff were nice. We had 5 and the table was a bit small but when a group didn't show up, they moved us to a bigger table which was perfect. The food was lovely and they had 2 for £10 cocktails. £140 for 5 mains and a cocktail each so good value. Unfortunately we weren't able to stay for out night out as the bar was too busy.

We had a lovely quite night. Beds exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Reception staff polite and helpful.

After have a flight cancelled for a holiday to malaga we decided a few days away was better than nothing. Booked into anchor on Wed and from word go we were knew made the right choice with the anchor from reception staff to bar, restaurant staff can't fault it. One of most friendly places I have stayed. nothing to much hassle for the staff

we ate at the anchorage almost every day. Food was amazing and the staff was very courteous. Do remember to go before 9 pm though.

Food was great, service was great, especially from Michelle who made sure to accommodate us above and beyond. Every hospitality business could use a Michelle!

Bit dated looking, but clean, good food and good service.

They had Trad music on Wednesday which was excellent but bizarrely had many TV screens on at the same time showing some dodgy channel 4 film which was very distracting.

Called in on my own for a quick bite to eat. The whole complex was very busy with happy eaters and drinkers. Well impressed with the food and service. Nothing was any trouble for my server Alison. Will be back again for a more leisurely dinner.

Me and my girlfriend came here for a meal in late June the food was delicious and a very nice atmosphere in the bar we will definitely go back when we can

Apart from the £5.30 for a pint of Guinness, it was rather pleasent. Cept I had had a better pint a 1/2 hour previous in the Clyde Tavern in Coleraine for £4.00 dead.

Dinner was exceptional withe the price very reasonable.

Have been several times and never disappointed. Food is great and staff could not do enough for their customers. One of my favourite places

Two visits now. First was a disaster, as a local 'character' started to annoy ours and next door's tables. I had to have a word with the staff about it... twice! Was also way overcharged for two drinks as the young person serving didn't seem to have a baldies about pricing. All in all, it is a decent place with decent food. Though staff could do with a bit more training.

They offered us a discount on the room which was brilliant, but failed to tell us the music would be blasting down below till 2am, its aswell I didn't book with the kids in tow, or I would ha e had to leave, I think this is really important information they should supply when anyone is booking, especially for families and pensioners etc, up your game Anchorage

.me and the partner had fish an chips , my partner thought the chips were hard I thought they were ok had apint off Coke each hole thing came to £47. 0dds, which I thought a bit expensive for fish an chips,, service was great fast an efficient

We had food here on Easter Monday. It wasn’t too busy when we entered so we got a table easily, although by the time we were leaving it was a lot busier. Staff were friendly and attentive, nothing was too much effort. Food came really quickly and was warm, fresh and tasty. I got the panko chicken goujons with garlic chips and a garlic mayo dip. It was really tasty. Every one else who I was with also enjoyed their meals. Only negative was the toilets.. the men’s had no paper towels and the hand drier wasn’t working. Apart from that we really enjoyed our visit here and will be back.

Used to love this place but unless you are going to the nightclub don't bother now. Woken in middle of night by fire alarm, went downstairs but only staff member was uninterested so seems regular occurance. Paid over £200 & expected good nights sleep! Definitely not recommended on a weekend night

Told over the phone that you didn't have to book in for the bistro. Me and my girlfriend then got inside the building to then be told you needed to arrange a booking over the phone. Poor communication and service 👏👏

Lovely place with friendly staff

New menu is fantastic, just what we need when feeling the pinch of winter expenses. Some of the prices of food on the Causeway Coast are ridiculous, this menu offers a good variety of decent meals for under a tenner. The lasagne hasn't changed thankfully in all the years I've been coming here, still delicious and even the simple things like the big chips are cooked well no half cooked ones in the middle, the garlic bread made with actual real garlic butter - also delicious! Veggie curry & the burger were also well received. Service with a smile from friendly efficient servers. 👌

We had a meal and a few drinks in the front bar looked after by the very helpful Nigel, our meals were excellent and have no hesitation recommending the Anchor bar for food or drinks.

Long time since last here and called in on a chilly Monday evening for bite to eat. Busy, but managed to get a seat and service didnt suffer too badly. We were expecting standard pub grub but foof was amazing. Tasty and keenly priced. Would definately return.

Had a great New Year's Eve at the Anchor Bistro, Portstewart. Staff were helpful and friendly, food was delicious (I had teryaki chicken noodles, the others had steaks and fish) and the band were brilliant. What an all round great night's craic. Compliments to the chef and Happy New Year to all the staff.

Good food. I got a burger and chips. It was nice but the chip portion was small to be fair.

Dodgy experience but cheap and cheerful

Honestly can't recommend this place enough! The staff are class (special mentions to Becky and Michelle for providing quick service and bants) We came down from the club and ended up staying downstairs as the 2 ladies mentioned above basically made our evening. See you again soon girls!

Bar staff are awful! Wee girl ignored me for a good 15 minutes whilst waiting to be served at the bar, it wasn't even busy at this stage so it wasn't as if I was just being overlooked! Just blatantly ignored for absolutely no reason also I think the bouncers need to go to specsavers 😂18 year old that looked about 15 walks in infront of me and I get asked for I'd 😂😂 mate I'm 31 and look it🙄

Lovely overnight stay. Rooms are spotless an very comfortable beds. Decor lovely. Nice powerful shower with all the extras of shampoo,body wash and lotion. Weve been here at least 4 times now and will return. Night entertainment live band was brill. Breakfast next morning was very tasty. All in all well recommended.

Meal only review, restaurant section scores highly for decor and service. Food is overpriced for the standard, even for portstewart. £12 seemed reasonable at first for goujons meal, until you realise you’re paying £12 for 4 goujons then £4 for a side on top. Would have been fair to include a side with mains prices. Better Chinese standard next door from the takeaway. Good wines

Have went to the anchor complex every Tuesday in uni and have gone recently for food and live music. Always a fantastic night

Whilst over in Portstewart visiting family,8 of us were accommodated for breakfast.in the bar area. I must say ,it was lovely,nicely presented, served promptly so was nice and hot. Clean plates all round. I was just sad we couldnt book for an Evening meal. I Will remember to book well in advance next time. Well done to all at The Anchor👍

Went for late lunch and had the cod with champ, it was delicious my sister had the seafood chowder which was packed with yummy fish and seafood, she said it was the best she ever had! The server could not have been more helpful. I must say I have been going to the restaurant over the last 16 years and never had a bad meal. It is certainly worth a visit. Thought it was about time I left them a review!

Met up with a group of friends for drinks, service was slow mainly because the bar staff were either chatting to each other or checking out their phones, none too polite either.

Ate in the restaurant. Loved the food. Best Onion Rings.

Me sentí obligado a pagar la comida y salir del local. La comida era un poco cara y el ambiente dado por el personal en el restaurante era mucho que desear. Pregunté si me podían mover a otra mesa ya que estaba sentado justo al lado de la puerta del baño.

We went to the Anchor bar this evening as a last family dinner a together before heading home tomorrow. Firstly despite booking the restaurant weeks in advance we were set over 2 tables, when ordering the request was made for the kids meals to come out as soon as possible, this fell on deaf ears. Mains arrived, kids meals accompanied, with only some of the sides and when asked where the remaining sides where it was met with a blank expression. After advising 2 staff what these were and the fact they hadn't arrived off they went to the kitchen. No further update with the sides arriving just in time for the mains to be cold and still not the sides we ordered, but at that stage we were just happy for anything. No apology and no communication over the missed food so when greeted with the desert menu we declined and went to Morellis where at least there they got our order correct!! Food was OK service abysmal so if you are going be very specific on what you want and make sure it's you what you actually get.
